Cyphon Recordings continue their remarkable run of form with a brand new six track mini LP from Aussie powerhouse Ewan Jansen. With three decades of experience permeating his productions, Chroma Sea is a signature Jansen voyage - crisp, colourful, groove-heavy house and techno anchored by an analog weight.

A veteran of the scene, Jansen cut his teeth in the early '90s producing hardware-saturated house music drenched in depth and feeling. Having released on the likes of Moods & Grooves, Going Good, Freerange and Butter Sessions across the years, he’s also been captaining his own label Red Ember Records since 1997.

Leading the Chorma Sea odyssey is 'Salt Circuit', a squelching '90s tech house leaning track with a Detroit influenced touch, where bounce and power balance expertly with intricate synthwork and synapse-firing breakdowns.

'Brinewave' and 'Cybercanisco' follow, the former a head pickling, bass heavy, atmospheric electro joint. The latter a blinding yet blissful, Motor City channelling techno creation, that burrows deep down into your soul.

On the flip, 'Hydronexus' swallows you up in with a hit of absorbing space-age techno that envelopes your brain in layer upon layer of tactile sounds, before 'Faulty Gelfling' fires you out the other side into a twisted, robo electro hyperspace.

Closing out the release and bringing you back down to earth, 'Surabaya', where soft pads swell and oscillating synths wash over you, as that grooving low-end just keeps on rolling.
The Chroma Sea release expertly illustrates Ewan Jansen's ability to craft a vibrant blend of house and techno that nods across the ocean to the US and Europe, yet grounds itself down under. Earthly and analog yet explorative all at once. More

Island Librarywas recorded over the last 12 months as Jansen returned from a frantic European tour. He was granted a breather with the lockdown, which allowed Jansen the necessary time and space to properly produce his record.The refined character ofIsland Libraryis made clear with Jansen's experiments in structure and tone, distancing his LP from the formulaic and conventional approach to classic house music. Western Australia's Red Ember Records is back from another archive diving adventure. "Embers Only : Swan Songs" presents four previously-unreleased, deeply emotive cuts by Ewan Jansen written between 1999-2000. The lead track 'Swan' marks the dance-floor tone in the collection with a hypnotic pseudo-electro groove sky lined by cathedral-like chords. Following on, 'Sea for yourself' reaches into deep minimal house territory with a powerfully gentle, piano topped, 4/4 approach. On the flipside, the earnest and leafy 'Love Machine' is drawn down the proverbial path, dropping broken beats and inhibitions along the way. The collection is signed off with the ambient chordal wash of 'Afterlude'... an introspective repeater equally on call for any early morning after party or your final few waking moments. More

Ewan Jansen joins the Butter Sessions crew with five unique tracks spanning Deep House cuts to Electronic Jazz, recorded in Perth, Australia between 2002 and 2016. On the A side, Ewan offers up two memorable and moody gems 'Credo' and 'Harbinger' that are just as effective on the dance floor as they are in your lounge room! The B side sees something more obscure brewing, kicked off by 'Blueprint' a Balearic Compu-funked tune that makes you wish it lasted for hours, followed up by the timeless piece of Jazz infused Ambience 'On The Beach'.
The tail end of the EP leaves us with 'Erewhon' an oddball jazz tinged house jam of incomparable qualities! More

The Alpha Transmissions EP is a new project from Dubbyman that has been long in the making. The always classy producer brings his trademark deep house sound to Inner Shift Music with label owners Brad P and Rai Scott getting in on the action. 'Transmission #1' is smooth, serene and dubbed out deep house with cosmic energy, while 'In The Space (Song For Joey)' is a more loose-limbed groove peppered with gentle percussion.'Transmission #2' first comes as a Man-Drake edit that is widescreen and drenched in prog rock guitar licks and as a Rai Scott remix that is more rolling and heady. From the UK, South Africa, France and Australia, Inner Shift Music presents their Collective Continents II release, with Mark Hand, Platform 001, G-Prod and Leo Gunn. The EP starts with Take Some Chances which has Jazz influenced pads, chords and changes with an addictive hook, by Mark Hand who has recent releases on Soul Print and Apollo. Next comes The Last Letter by newcomer Platform 001 - a deep house track with some funk style house chords and an inspiring spoken word poem, which holds the listener's attention throughout.

On the B side we have the Gaugain brothers G-Prod (who have releases on R&S and Nightflight), with their track Horizon which has a more techy feel with its moody pads, melodic lead and subtle but driving bassline. The EP is complete with a whole other level of head-nodding depth and warmth, with Aheeoo which you would come to expect from Leo Gunn, who is noted for his multiple appearances on Deep Explorer.

Deep, jazzy, techy, warm and diverse, this EP is everything there is to love about deep house. More

As with his previous release "Planted Seeds" on Inner Shift Music, Gene Hunt yet again delivers with the "Distant Voyage" EP. Kayla Dream is aptly named as you are taken into a long atmospheric dream with a hard energetic Gene Hunt Chicago edge. Distant Voyage takes this journey into a more dynamic direction with even more energy and subtle unexpected twists. Last but certainly not least we have Open Up Your Eyes with contrasting abstract elements that you would never dream would work except, with Gene Hunt it does. As always he's ahead of curve with this three track EP being a prime example of his own unique underground style of dance music. More

For their sixth release, Inner Shift Music are proud to present their second various artists compilation. It features four different tracks from different producers each bringing their own unique yet interconnected deep sound to the EP. You may have heard of Jacksonville already, from his superb track (Tokyo) for Atmospheric Existence, as well as releases on his own imprint Doppler records. Following him is the very talented Jose Lau of Deepselect Records from California, bringing with him his signature, warm, intelligent sound, who not surprisingly had a recent release on Pulp. Next is the mysterious duo Gauss, who you probably know about from their imprint of the same name. Their rather excellent track brings a more techy edge to the EP. To finalise the deal, we get a stunning, lush, melodic track from Marco Nega, who had a recent release on Bumako.

Gene Hunt is a prolific producer with an un-mistakable sound of his own. And although an originator of the acid house sound from Chicago, he certainly didn't stop there. His music has naturally evolved over the years, often incorporating more mature melody and rhythm structures, but always in time with a proper underground style dance track. These tracks are a perfect fit for the direction and vision of the Inner Shift Music label as well, and for this reason we are pleased to present you with "Planted Seeds" by Gene Hunt.
