Short info:
Sebastian Fiegen rolls out his debut solo release for Cadenza Records this Spring, with a trio of excellent house cuts on the 'Theofidelity' EP. The German producer has been crafting quality productions for some time now under aliases and collaborations, and it's on Luciano's label where he makes his mark as a solo artist.
'Dopeman' opens the EP with a rolling Chi-town house style groove, a simple yet effective filtered vocal loop and sustained strings harvest the feel good vibes over its solid beats. Fiegen keeps up the pace with 'Anando', more drum led house grooves with a high production value, the vocal refrain cutting in and out of the mix whilst the simplistic bassline and woody percussion maintains the bouncing vibes.
Closing the EP is 'TH01', again coming correct with the 'feel good factor' with its use of the looped sample and lazy, hypnotizing drums. A cracking debut production from Fiegen, and a well rounded release for Cadenza.

It's not easy to create something that sounds epic and yet doesn't veer off into cliché-riddled pathos, which is why the latest release from Gaspard de La Montagne hits so hard. It's perfect. From the first bars of the intro track "Thot" you feel like you're being pulled under by a powerful current -you're going deep. And you'll only surface once the outro track, "Canines", comes to a full stop. You could technically call this Techno, but that would diminish Gaspard de La Montagne's unique take on the idiom.

What's unique about this EP is that these songs are amalgams of noise, noise that is extremely beautiful in sum total. This is sonic alchemy at work: the ability to turn harsh, jarring sounds into something mesmeric, breathtaking (almost quite literally). These songs are like Ad Reinhardt black on black paintings. At first they appear to be airtight, solid, impenetrable. But the longer you listen to them the more details they reveal, and in the end you find yourself in a vast universe. This is the third EP from Gaspard de La Montagne and we're quite certain that it'll find its way into late night / early morning sets of that breed of DJs who love their sound deep; but it's also just as gratifying as a headphone-listening experience.

We are proud to announce our first ever collab release with another label and above all, from one of our all time fave producers out there, “The Revenge”. His Label „Roar Groove“ has become a household name for excellent deep dance floor excursions into dubbed out and disco fuelled
house music and is the perfect fit for our vision of dance music.
Making up “Roar Groove meets Dirt Crew Recordings” you’ll find three originals from The Revenge himself, plus two remixes from our resident producer Nachtbraker. We get right into it on the A1 with a rolling disco workout on “Conkers”. This track lifts and intensifies into a straight up dance floor destroyer. The perfect balance of elements, tantalizing synth licks, an oscillating bass line and a vocal that dares you not to get up. Next, “Do The Right Thing” explores the aforementioned quintessential dub disco territory, slipping and sliding, pulsing keys and glistening melodies sing to rum infused coconuts and salty sunsets. Nachtbraker flips the same jam on the B1 giving it his signature deep house vigor, while adding some new jazz elements, highlighting the undeniable underlying funk of the original. “New Attitude” reps that proper “Revenge” sound, this track resides in the realm of the indescribable, we’re not sure if techno is quite the word for it, but a deep and rhythmically pulsing exploration through gritty soundscapes bringing some , always welcome, disco lasers along for the ride.Finally, on our digi only special, Nachtbraker slows things down a little reworking “Conkers”. He’s swung the vibe, infused a little more funk, and once again taught us all a lesson on how to write a bass line you can get your body behind. On these 3 originals “The Revenge” proves to be on top of the game, and adding two excellent Nachtbraker remixes to the release, things can’t get any better really ... we are more than thrilled to put out this special product on beautifully designed wax. Love On The Rocks is very excited to present Sharif Laffrey’s Key Jam (A.C.I.D.). His first release since the sleeper hit Turn It Up was released on Discos Capablanca over two years ago. Key Jam (A.C.I.D.) is The Treasure + The Mystery. Laffrey’s signature raw edit style is in full effect on this 9-minute proto-dance heater. Sharif Laffrey has been playing records and making music for 20 Long Hard years. Born in Detroit, Michigan - he’s worked on the line checking camshafts for Chryslers & at Submerge for Mike Banks - at the same time. He toured Asia with Juan Atkins and once had to chase a grown man through the streets at night, who had crawled into his living room through a open window. An active member in Detroit’s early rave scene, Sharif remembers booking all foreign gigs with a Fax Machine - and would still do it that way, if anybody else had them anymore. Starting out as a very irregular listening session in my hometown of Hamar almost 15 years ago then later(and still very irregular) in Oslo the idea was to cater good music to a sitting and mostly hungover drinking crowd...We(me + Magnus International)do these "jams" occasionally during summer as a outdoor pre Full Pupp-party warm up at our regular venue BLÅ. Everything from medieval lute and harp records, underwater sounds via Elton John, Grateful Dead to Basic Channel and ECM albums gets an airing... nothing is sacred
This "openminded music policy" we now turn into a label.

As both a producer and the helmsman of the Outis Music label, Dino Sabatini has carved out a distinctive musical style that shows a great reverence for both ancient archetypes and future possibilities for change (see, for example, his "Mnemosyne" co-release with Edit Select, in which each track is dedicated to a separate Greek goddess). With one foot planted in a mysterious past and the other foot planted in a world yet to arrive, Sabatini's works are carefully realized emotional journeys that intertwine shimmers of optimism with undercurrents of poignancy or nostalgia. His latest full-length offering, "Omonimo" (that's "homonym" for non-speakers of Italian), brings all of this to fruition on a record that demands (and rewards) deep listening.

After a pulsating "Foreword" massages the mind and prepares it for the story that Sabatini is about to tell, "Choosing the Right Way" blankets the listener in a rainy day ambience punctuated with tantalizingly distant vocal refrains and nimble piano. At once solemn and erotic, it sets the pace perfectly for a set of tracks that have a cohesive feel, yet all use their own sonic vocabulary and color palette to tell unique variations on the story. "It's My Forest," for example, sticks to the reliable trip-hop / mid-tempo framework while introducing quick snatches of tabla and signaling, hovering synth arpeggios. "Follow Me" retains the lush synth pads and cycling percussive loops of that track, and then things take a turn for the slightly darker with "The Unexpected," a sudden uptick in percussive punch and apprehensive intensity. The album's main, recurring motif of cascading note patterns continues on "Just When I Think About You" and "Sometimes Back," with the former benefitting from a fat, insistent bass synth throb both of these pieces benefitting from the return of tastefully minimal piano accents.

And speaking of piano, the album's feeling of grandeur truly hits its stride with the assistance of jazz pianist Antonello Salis: on the tracks "If" and the swansong "And it All Ends Here", Salis' input allows Sabatini's blossoming arrangements to truly breathe while accommodating his partner's contemplative presence, culminating in free-floating, luminous wisps of romanticism. Nestling neatly between a number of contemporary genres, and wisely avoiding their fatal clichés, tracks like the Sabatini / Salis collaborations will point listeners forward to a new kind of compositional freedom, and a style that can melt away feelings of pervasive stress without ever silencing the mind's innate curiosity.

Reminiszenzen sind zum Mitsingen da!
Pünktlich zum weltweiten Schallplattenladentag liefert Hamburgs Hitschmiede Nummer 4, die nach wie vor kurz vor der Übernahme durch Universal Music steht, den nächsten Bürgersteighochklapper ab. Wenig bis nichts ist überliefert aus den Anfangstagen von Techno, die Rede ist oft von Atemmasken, Staubsaugern und Schuhen, mit denen die Leute ihre eh schon durch wochenlangen Tanz im Strobo ausgemergelten Körper noch dürrer erscheinen lassen wollten.
Geschichte wurde in den Redaktionen der Lügenpresse verfasst und Clubaufnahmen in TV Studios nachgestellt.
Die Protagonisten von einst leben dagegen den gleichen Lebensstil wie schon immer, Smoothies, perfekt sitzende Anzüge, eiserne Disziplin und mit der Tupperdose voll hand gemachter Sandwiches geht es morgens Punkt 9 ins Studio. Nur so entstanden und entstehen nach wie vor Melodien für Millionen.
Pampa verstand und versteht sich seit je her in der Tradition dieser Techno Arbeiter, alles andere ist Tetris.
Pünktlich fährt auch dieses Jahr wieder der 7,5 Tonner vor, mit nichts als Staub, Knistern, Hallräumen, zittrig programmierten Beats, einer Prise Vogelstimmen und Acid auf der Ladefläche!
Mit Wolfgang Voigt Remix, der gut gelaunten Karnevalsnase aus Köln, den Konzepte schon immer sehr interessierten, kommt diese Platte zu euch in die Läden.

This limited edition is a remastered version of the original motion picture soundtrack consisting of incidental music, sound effects, John Carpenter's early synth experimentations, dialogue excerpts, and vintage interferences extracted directly from the film roll. The bonuses contains "Ode to a Bell Jar" remade by loyal Carpenter collaborator Alan Howarth (Escape from New York, Christine, Big Trouble in Little China, They Live…), the fan favorite "Benson Arizona" remade by Dominik Hauser and the very sought-after "When Twilight Falls on NGC 891" by Martin Segundo & the Scintilla Strings (in the real world *James Clarke's Spring Bossa).
