gacha bakradze - Tiresome Walk
With this new release Best Works Records presents a new multi-talented dj and producer from Georgia, Gacha Bakradze. This 4 track EP is not the typical club record but a mind stimulating piece of music. It opens with « Drift », a track where rhythm and beats are melting down in a pot full of warm flowing sound- scapes, then goes into more hypnotic lead sounds with the second track « Golshifteh ». On the B-side you’ll find a techno infused remix from Berghain’s resident Norman Nodge, elevating the original track « Drift » to a real dancefloor bliss. The last track « Tiresome Walk » takes us on a sweet journey through playful melodies and laid-back rythmics, he delivers a majestic slow burn, crafting something that would serve well both as a stirring set opener or an emotional end.

Gacha Bakradze - Echoes Of Silence
Gacha Bakradze releases his third album on Lapsus entitled "Pancakes", and while the name may appear conventional at first glance, it actually contains esoteric philosophical concepts.
The Georgian producer perceives the making of pancakes -a transformative and healing parental activity that he loves to partake in with his son- as a metaphor for alteration, metamorphosis and change. A reflection that also accentuates the importance of balance during each process of preparing a simple recipe, which in turn highlights key human attributes such as patience, attention to detail and willingness to adapt to shifting circumstances.
On a sonic level, Gacha’s new album embodies precisely that: the contextual reworking of his music, while maintaining the essence of his previous work. "Pancakes" provides the typically melancholic yet vibrant genetics already recognisable in his music, but also embraces new genres, including his unique and personal take on hyper-pop and trance. It is an album of contrasting elements, where bucolic interludes make way for heavier tracks that are more suited to a club environment, an aural universe that hybridises IDM, electro, bass music and cutting edge techno, and once again demonstrates that trying to pigeonhole Gacha Bakradze's sound is a somewhat fruitless task. Gacha Bakradze - Broken Wing
Gliding across the slipstreams, leaving no frequency unturned, unraveling the tether into the glitter and the gloss. The strata meander, the grooves contract then explode with gusto and grace, the listener transported along through the haze and into a soundscape of such purpose and feeling. Its emotive music at its most enticing, it’s most enigmatic, it’s most surprising…..
If there ever were an artist who defied the notion of labels and embraced the boundlessness of the unknown, it would undoubtedly be Gacha Bakradze, who has taken listeners on the most sublime of journeys through his releases. It’s easier to say his sound is grounded in emotional purity than in one singular genre (or indeed a group of genres), as Bakradze prefers to skirt between the lines, picking up and manipulating the frequencies that persist within the electronic stratosphere. His inspiring technical touch is partnered with a joyous exploratory nature, guidance that has seen him put very few feet wrong as he swerves between a multitude of styles and genres. From his now-fabled releases on the legendary Apollo label, through to his deeply thought-provoking LP efforts on Lapsus, along with a number of astonishing EPs on imprints such as Cin Cin, Best Works, Fever AM and more, Bakradze always finds room to involve the listener with his world – so that the two can grow more fond of each other. The bond that Bakradze crafts with his music to the people who come into contact with is undeniable, as his journey caresses the ground and points in so many directions – it’s simply a matter of seeing It reach out and surprise us once again. No matter what mood you find yourself in, his music gives as much as it takes, a bountiful relationship that only serves to expand your mind and make you feel like you’ve never felt before.
To provide a space for Bakradze to bottle his magic should be at the top of the list for many a label, and Oath has looked to do just that with ‘Forget’. The five trackers has the hallmarks of whatever you might define as his ‘classic’ emotive hallmarks, but with plenty of dynamic motifs thrown in for good measure that provide the listener with that sense of progression – not to mention the expertness in his craft, which is evident throughout. ‘Shifting’ kicks things off, with a quietly involving arpeggio providing the basis for the kicks and gorgeous piano leads to come into play, and by the time the bass notes come into play, there is already that engrossing feeling coming to the surface. It’s a subtle electro kind of vibe, gentle and swaying but with a hefty dollop of energy that surfaces through the breaks and the swerves. ‘Lake’ continues onwards with another delicate arpeggio getting things going before ascending into a deep, diverse and expansive scape indeed. The energy swerves, grows and rises from top to bottom, ensuring the journey feels like it has no end – the gorgeous key line that lands itself within the higher ends around the mid-way mark seals the deal.
‘What You Say’ starts in a similar manner, swirling and growing whilst also not giving much away in terms of the tempo – this is smashed as the kicks come in heavy. Whilst the previous efforts displayed a gentler side to proceedings, this cut is all about the bass and the fuzz, filling in the gaps between the ever-shifting rhythmic structure as the dance is guided toward euphoria. ‘Form’ lands next, and this one builds upon the vibrations of the last number and runs off with it. This one creates this dark and dubby atmosphere, one where the dancers are contorted, the emotive elements stripped back which keeps the rhythm in charge, and we are all for it. To wrap things up, we have ‘Broken Wing’, which meanders back into the softly undulating territory of the first couple of numbers. Bakradze brings the arpeggio motif back into view, his soft touch applied also to the drums as they quietly grow into the mix, as the two layers intertwine beautifully and with a true sense of purpose. Its a fitting end to a record that provides so much, an effort that pours over itself to continually find new methods of wowing, and you leave the experience feeling like you have listened to four EPs in one. A truly remarkable statement from one of dance musics most enigmatic producers.
Gacha Bakradze has also looked for a greater meaning in his music, be it in terms of sonics, scope or indeed how everything flows and meanders from one source to the next. This latest EP on Oath is no exception and stands tall as yet another piece of significance to flow from his fingertips. His ability to weave the listener into a world filled with such beauty and rhythm is remarkable, the music eager to envelop and allow you to explore to your heart’s content. It creates a bond that is strong from track and by the end, it is unbreakable. So go on, wrap yourself around this absolute stunner…. More

Hailing from Georgia’s capital Tbilisi, Gacha Bakradze is one of the national scene’s leading electronic music exponents. He returns to Lapsus Records with his new album 'Obscure Languages', his second release for the Barcelona label.
Following the superb LP 'Word Color' [Lapsus Records, 2018], which appeared in several ‘album of the year’ lists for publications such as Pitchfork and XLR8R, the prolific producer now presents 'Obscure Languages'. This new piece of work could well be described as a sound continuation from his previous album and maintains a powerful narrative at its core.
‘Obscure Languages' delves into the world of cinematic soundscapes, replete with microscopic details and fragments that showcase a luscious IDM style audio palette, laced with ambient, avant-techno, bass and sound design. More

Apollo proudly welcomes the return of Gacha Bakradze (now recording under his full given name) to the fold with the ‘We Must Be Woods' EP, five stunning tracks which represent his finest work since his debut Apollo LP ‘Send Two Sunsets’ in 2015. This has already been a great 2017 for Bakradze, with stellar releases on Fort Romeau’s Cin Cin label and his own Transfigured Time imprint.
Georgia born Bakradze’s music is a cinematic combination of beguiling melodies, exotic instrumentation and oceanic drones. Crafted in the autumn of 2016 ‘We Must Be Woods' sees a maturation and deepening of his sound - deftly programmed rhythms on vintage drum machines, eastern percussion and breakbeats underpin aching synth pads and gooey sub bass. Bakradze explores a range of tempos and moods, playing and recording kalimba, guitar and piano, weaving them into a captivating aural narrative which manages to both soothe and stimulate the imagination.
Gacha’s ability to effortlessly fuse the the warm chords of Detroit techno and UK bass sounds with the dense atmospherics of shoe gaze, and the crumbling, analogue euphoria of krautrock is only growing with each release and should set expectations sky high for his forthcoming LP on Apollo later in 2017.= More

between ourselves - Red Mist (Andre Lodeman Edit)
Please meet the young production duo of Davin Coady and Geoff Foley known as “Between Ourselves” from Water-ford/Ireland, one of the Irish key cities for the more deeper flavours of underground House-music. They have previously released on labels such as Republik and Galaktika. Their offering is comprised of 2 tracks. The first track 'Red Mist' is a melodic driven tune with an epic monster-break that hur-tles the listener to an uplifting climax. The 2nd Track 'Guidance' hits the spot with a catchy bassline in the break, the 'hook' of the tune. None other than Berlin based Ruede Hagelstein created a remix for 'Red Mist'. Indeed he is a man for those special tunes that will always stay on your mind. He stripped down the original to its bare essence keeping the epic feel - a dirty dark masterpiece. Andre Lodemanns edit of 'Red Mist' pushes the floor potential to the max with his customized drum sounds.

Over the last decade Andre Lodemann, a regular in the worldwide underground dancescene has released on many prolific labels incl. Freerange, Room With A View, DFTD and Innervisions. Come 2018 Lodemann is now releasing his album “The Deeper You Go” on his own label “Best Works Records”. He started working on it in 2012, taking his time for his emotional artistic approach with a lot of attention to detail. The album successfully walks the imaginary spectrum of Deep House, Tech House and Techno also taking dives into other waters. Where his previous longplayer “Fragments” was a compilation of past works, "The Deeper You Go" is his first artist album containing everything a listener would want to hear both in a club and at home. You can feel that the tracks where created out of the same mold. There’s a mood, a common thread and a story through the works. The album is dark in a subtle way and yet has that positive vibe and aggressiveness to it. "The Deeper You Go" is mostly instrumental with two features by the british singer and songwriter Huw Costin, bandleader of “Torn Sail”. Lodemann’s sound is deep, warm but aggressive at the same time. It explores the less chartered end of the soundscape. His songs generally feel like a narrative. It builds and grows as the song progresses and climax past the halfway rewarding you for your time invested. At the climax the tracks sometimes morph into what feels like a whole new song. This is his signature sound.

andre lodemann - Birth (Fabian Dikof Remix)
Best Works Records Label-owner André Lodemann is back with a new long-awaited EP on his imprint. It is the 20th release on the label. For this “Birth” EP André personally enlisted non-other than swiss duo Adriatique for their remix skills aswell as new-comer producer Fabian Dikof. André’s track “Birth” creates contrasts using african-drumming inspired styles paired with techy-beat pro-gramming. Starting more on a minimal tip the track works its self up to high-tension climaxing with an emotional break keeping the deeper moments intact. Adriatique created a faster more club-orientated ver-sion paring the more hooky parts of the original with beat-sythn elements giving the track a more tribal feel. The second remix featured here come’s via Fabian Dikof the second main artist on Best Works Records. It's great to have him remix André Lodemann at last presenting his masterful skills. Fabian took a different path in his remix working more on the melodic hook but also creating a warm bass-laden soundscape that loves the dance-floor in its own right.

The UK / South African production team Sahin Meyer Zamalek gives a dark and melancholic twist to Nathalie Claude's vocal Charles Webster's remix clearly shows a strong South African influence ». "Which Side Are You On ?" is the second EP of Berlin based Fabian Dikof. As a youngster he learned his first basic skills in producing and deejaying from Mr. Andre Lodemann himself in a youth program that Lodemann was teaching in his previous job as a social-worker. Now years later we are happy to have Fabian Dikof back on board with his second release on our Berlin-based imprint Best Works Records. This 3 tracks EP shows a strong affinity for slow atmospheric build ups with dramatic even surprising mood changes as well as designed beats for the dancefloor. Fabian Dikof takes you on quite a trip through warm sounding synthetizers and rolling basslines. What an in incredibly mature output for such a young artist. So the question here is "Which Side Are You On?". We see a bright future for this gifted artist.

Bestworks records proudly presents the debut of two young aspiring producers from Berlin: Felix Fisher and Fabian Dikof. Several years ago both of them learned their first skills in a youth project which was developed and run by non other than label owner and producer Andre Lodemann in a small town Erkner on the outskirts of Berlin, Germany. This release is a beautiful connection between Andre Lodemanns former Job as a street/social-worker and his work today as a producer and dj on the international circuit. The track by Felix Fisher is a more Detroit orientated Tech-House track with a darker approach and Fabian Dikofs is more dubby-house influenced. Christian Prommer and Phoniques remixes give the release a great twist in other musical directions.
