Sean Dixon - Generations IV (John Shima Rework)
Sean Dixon, known from previous releases on Clone and Rawax, is back on his own label Final Chapter.
On this colorful four track record called Generations EP, he’s joined by Sheffield´s John Shima.
Opening the EP is Generations I, a raw piece, with chord stabs that are dancing around the percussion sounds and organ bass, with a vocal on top. Followed up on the A-side is Generations ll, a Chicago and Detroit inspired track with wonderful lush strings one top of the drums and vocal,. Generations lll opens up the B-side, with wicked melodies and a funky bassline.
The B2 track Generations IV comes from John Shima, who is doing a rework on Sean´s original sounds, putting his characteristic feeling and touch to it. More

Back with a third release Sean Dixon’s Final Chapter label has a very solid and defined sound. Opening with his own version, Sean delivers strong kicks, deep bass and steady percussion, together with warm melodic elements, with his synth tones with a feeling of looseness, all underpinned by steady vocal samples. Oliver Deutschmann ratchets things up to deliver a weightier yet more stripped back version, relying much less on the range of the vocal sample, but maintaining the human connection with what is used. His second version, equally heavy, seems to roll more, while mangling vocal elements and allowing effects to help them fill space, as a solid bass tone drives the listener along. Joel Alter provides a far lighter and more shuffled variant, which juxtaposes the previous reworks in a wonderful way as he maintains a quirky, but recognizably housier version of Sean Dixon’s original.

sean dixon - Anxiety (Perseus Traxx rework)
Following hot on the heels of the acclaimed "Warehouse E.P.", Final Chapter returns. Once again Stockholm's Sean Dixon perfectly executes a pair of heavy, late night, club tracks kicking off with "Perspective" with its subtle organ stabs, tight percussion, solid bass and inspirational vocal. Detroit´s Jared Wilson remakes it with with an older feel, then twists it into something more raw, dusty and intense. "Anxiety" wobbles subtly into being with haunting synth parts and pleasurably disjointed percussive elements, which keep interest and maintain a groove, only to be straightened into something much more linear as it's remade by Perseus Traxx, spreading the heavy and unsettling tones of his own anxieties.
