Cocoon Recordings presents: P!
Who would have thought of this at the beginning of this compilation series? It’s letter P everybody, which means this is one of the longest running techno compilation series around! Loaded with power
and purity the latest edition of our series offers you a great selection of freaking crazy and kicking techno tunes.
Our last compilations followed the basic concept of good club nights with an introduction part, the peak time and some cool downs and even after hour sounds. In contrast to this we open the clubdoor with P right from the start, no time for easy chit chat and soft entries - we want to move our feet and heads right from the beginning and here we are: Mirko Loko is in control for the beginning. His track
"Artificiel" is energetic, crazy and minimalistic at the same time. With destroyed digital sound fragments, yet consistently demanding, Mirko Loko opens the door and welcomes you to the club of P!
Wouter de Moor follows with his "Tesla Coil" - a speedy acid tune that has only one message: Freak out! With the pace, the simple structure and those crazy hihats „Tesla Coil" sounds almost like an old
steam locomotive. The sounds hiss and the beat rolls and the clubtrain won’t stop!
Einzelkind & Robin Scholz present their "Rhythm Factory" project next and their mutual work "n.2guts“. Another kickin’ acid-tune, full of power with a energy loaded forward boost. Slightly slower than Wouter de Moor but certainly with a similar vibe the two tunes act as a perfect double-pack!
Coming up next is Redshape, one of the hottest techno-acts of the past two years. He also follows the red acid-tip of the previous tracks. Redshape adds a bit of a Detroit- and Dopplereffekt vibe to his acid shot and looks clearly at the peak time with this! Swedish La Fleur is another act that made quite some waves in 2016. She contributes her track "Chemicality" to our selection which is nothing less than
another great techno anthem! She adds epic synths but manages to create a powerful techno composition here that won’t slow down at all.
„Porridge" by Alex Smoke comes in sixth place in our selection. Mister Smoke is doing the shuffle here and creates massive musical tension by using cool but insane sounds. This is high voltage and a sure
shot for this years festival and open air season.
"The Whip" by Alex Bau at position seven is big time chicago-techno with a strong DJ Sneak / Blu Funk feeling. Hypnotic, oppressive and with no frills. Alex Bau takes some risks with „The Whip" and won’t be everybodys darling with this piece but dropped at the right time in the right club this one will take you to dancefloor heaven and it will be one of the highlights of the night!
Speaking of highlights of the night: Please welcome techno champion Dustin Zahn to our club! His "Sun Breaker" is powerful, strong and masculine. The initial hypnotic loop aesthetics progresses fairly
quickly in a massive production full of powerful synths and freaked out sounds. This is great and techno at its best!
Coming up next is "Rising Lines" by our Cocoon Recordings artist Ilario Alicante. The Berlinitalian delivers another of his strong deep techno monsters and follows the course set by Dustin Zahn: Big
string sounds and twisted harmonies makes "Rising Lines" an epic techno cinema highlight!
And we won’t stop or slow down here yet, we even shift one gear up by throwing Josh Winks
"Bouyantly Grounded" into the our selection. A fat fish for sure by one of longest companions with whom we share so many memories and great parties! Big techno festivals, Ibiza, Cocoon Club
Frankfurt, the list of our common experiences is infinite. The Ovum mastermind has been one of our Cocoon Booking fix points for many years now and he presents an absolute highlight with his tune!
Gloomy and yet full of positive energy "Bouyantly Grounded" pushes the speakers in a powerful manner and will turn each festival and each open air (again) into another unforgettable event.
"You Fill Me" by Shooting Start Jacob Korn follows Josh Wink and adds a bucket of nice musical emotions. We slowly move to the end of our selection and Korn delivers the perfect tune to make the final transition. The shootingstar designs an amazing creation full of gentle harmonies and profound melodies - his contribution deserves to be labeled as "techno music". Any sunrise and any afterhour will be better with "You Fill Me" - this is electronic beach life brought to your speakers. Jacob Korn
defines techno in a very own style with a very high quality - a true techno masterpiece!
Our last track "All this for a Jump" by Atelier Francesco is in charge for the crowning conclusion: After such a big portion of perfect club sounds and pure techno there is hardly anything to add so we thank
Atelier Francesco for this slightly different musical approach. Cool but kickin ' 80s retro sounds meet a very unique electronic funk feeling - the captivating vocals make the picture complete. "All this for a
Jump" is not only our last track on this CD, this track would also make any big party looking good as a closing track.

3x12” with printed sleeves, poster, slipcase.
Tracklist 3x12”:
A1 Capsule B1 Concrete B2 Reloaded C1 Mound C2 Skin Trigger D1 Reign D2 SN Model E1 Dezarhiva E2 Sister In Law F1 Romaniac F2 Dimensioni
Short info:
Debut album by Livio & Roby featuring Martin Buttrich, Guti, tINI, Hector, Andrea Oliva, Julian Perez, Cezar Merveille, Enzo Siragusa, Ryan Crosson and Premiesku.
Music is an art, a journey, a personal exploration. It doesn’t start when we press play, nor does it stops when we press pause. However, with music being thrust upon us daily, it is near impossible to escape the preconceived notions of how we listen and discover it. We nd an artist we like and we convince ourselves we love their art – we forget to interrogate the melodies, to understand the harmonies, to feel the rhythm and connect with its soul. We learned to forget the value of it, we simply go by what we predict from the musician rather than what we actually hear and feel in the sound.
Cue Romanian duo Livio & Roby. Their conceptual album project ‘Phantom Circle’ challenges us to defy the constraints of these preconceived notions. They invite us to focus on one thing and one thing only - the music.
The audience is invited to listen to 11 original tracks, each of them co-produced with an anonymous collaborator from their “circle” of friends. And there certainly are some impressive names involved: tINI,EnzoSiragusa,MartinButtrich,Guti,JulianPerez,Hector,RyanCrosson,CesarMerveille,Andrea Oliva & Premiesku. The classic Livio & Roby nuances will prevail, of course, but there will be no clear evidence about the “phantom” collaborator behind each track, apart from the music itself. By keeping the mystery on the identity of each co-producer, the duo is challenging their listeners to bypass the involuntary pre-conception and focus on the essential: listen and feel.
Livio & Roby’s emotive and mind-moving grooves have put them not only at the top of their homeland’s list of nest producers but also at the forefront of the global electronic scene. The experience developed by the collaborators in this album only echoes the magnitude of Livio & Roby’s talent, which boils down to their stamp of ambition and courage, consolidated in this project. Above all, this album accentuates their clear intention to enjoy music for itself and nothing else.

Tracklist:
A. Jorkes - Thank You
B1. Jorkes - Thank You (Me?nage a? Trois Remix)
B2. Jorkes - Thank You (Me?nage a? Trois Instrumental) [vinyl only]
Short info:
Munich based pair Jorkes are something of an enigma, having appeared on the scene recently with a fully formed sound and a desire to let their music do the speaking for them. Musically the duo seem to be operating with few boundaries, looking to express their emotional states through their music with scant consideration for styles or genres. This latest release sees Jorkes team up with fellow Munich resident and vocalist Karol Schmejchel to deliver a slice of evocative, slo-mo nu-disco.
The release kicks of with the original mix of 'Thank You', marrying chugging drums and warm bass with stirring pads and the emotionally charged vocals of Schmejchel. It's a perfect track for dark backrooms and home lounging alike.
The remix comes from Manchester trio Me?nage a? Trois who deliver a sonical beautiful reworking built around heartwrenching keys and heavily reverbed guitar parts. Simple understated drums carrying the record along as their vocal treatment soars towards the heavens, this is sublime stuff. The vinyl release will also feature an exclusive instrumental of the Me?nage a? Trois mix for those who like things a little more stripped back.
In keeping with Jorkes' creative outlook, and following on from their previous release, there will be an exclusive music video of 'Thank You' forthcoming which is likely to set pulses racing once again!
Thanks for purchasing a real copy!

Egbert has been dazzling us with the speed at which he seems to have skyrocketed to being one of the world's top players in the techno scene. Within a short period of time he has managed to create a rapidly growing fan base who have all been avidly waiting for him to release an album for some time now. Come end of October, Egbert will finally be releasing 'Warm' on Secret Cinema's Gem Records! His story has been an exciting rollercoaster ride going from being discovered by Secret Cinema through Myspace, to being picked up by Cocoon and their booking agency and now touring the globe as a part of the Gem and Bonheur agency roster. September 20th, Egbert will be playing a sold out, astonishing 6 hour solo live set in Melkweg Amsterdam to kick off his album promotion tour. The album takes you on a trip through Egbert's vision of melodic techno. Well produced and euphoric but without stepping in to known territory. In his own words: 'One thing I often miss at techno parties is warmth. I would like to bring that back to techno'. While his live sets are usually filled with percussion and rhythm, this album compiles the tracks that bring warmth to his set. We also get a taste of Egbert's raw side with the powerful pumping grooves and punishing dark basslines on 'Tegno' and 'Shulgin'. There's even a new flavour added to the versatile producer's palate with the trippy ambient sounds of 'Ondergronds' and 'Trip'.

CD Digipack
Manuel Göttsching´s seminal epic movie music like concept "Die Mulde".
The title track 'Die Mulde' (40 min) was used as a 4-part suite for an impressive art event in the beautiful scenery of the river Mulde, near the historical place Höfgen close by Leipzig. Göttsching delivered its picturesque electronic sounds to an installation of 34 mirrors.
The bonus track ' HP Little Cry' is based on a theme from 1981. In 2004, Goettsching added a guitar melody and devoted the piece to a Norwegian fan, which gave the track its title.
Tracklist:
1. Die Mulde:Schöpferische Stille (2:55), 2. Die Mulde:Die Mulde (13:42),
3. Die Mulde:Die Spiegel (11:55), 4. Die Mulde:Zerfluss (11:33), 5. HP Little Cry (32:16)

MANUEL GÖTTSCHING - Shuttlecock
Manuel Göttsching Live in a terrific Japanese setting: Mount Fuji. Concert from 2006. Includes high class Sound Recording and highly sought after tracks like "Shuttlecock" and many more. Manuel Göttsching may not have released as many albums in recent decades as he did earlier in his career but when he does release something new, it's always something special. Manuel's latest release was recorded live in April 2006 during an excellent solo concert near Japan's Mount Fuji. Manuel performed the entire concert alone accompanied by stunning visuals by a polish graphic artist and he also dug into his back catalog coming up with new arrangements of classic material.
The album opens with "Sunrain" which was originally from the 1976 classic "New Age of Earth". The familiar hypnotic sequencer pattern is already in place however on this new version, Manuel takes it in a slightly different direction and extends the piece to nearly 15-minutes."Saint and Sinner" is a more recent piece, which was originally heard on the 2005 release "Concert for Murnau". This laid back piece is taken a step up from its studio counterpart as Manuel adds a bluesy Clapton-esque guitar lead that wasn't there before."Trunky Groove" is a brand new piece composed for this concert and is a showcase for the psychedelic music style that was the norm for Manuel back in his very early days in Ash Ra Tempel. A techno-style rhythm is accompanied by a long drone and intense orchestrations before giving way to an effects-drenched guitar solo. "Die Mulde" is a 20-minute excerpt from Manuel's long-form 1997 piece of the same name. It begins with the "Die Spiegel" section of the piece and shifts into the closing "Zerfluss" movement. As with "Saint and Sinner", Manuel adds a guitar lead which wasn't in the original version. Finally, to close the album, we have yet another arrangement of the classic "Shuttlecock" which originally is from the 1977 masterwork "Blackouts". The arrangement is similar to the 1976 live version that appeared on the 1996 CD set "The Private Tapes" but definitely has a modern twist. Manuel's guitar playing is up front and center here and is stellar - almost like taking a trip back to the mid 70´s."Live at Mt.Fuji" is yet another great CD
Tracklisting:
1. Sunrain (14:48) 2. Saint And Sinner (09:51) 3. Trunky Groove (14:42) 4. Die Mulde (19:50)
5. Shuttlecock (13:14)

MANUEL GÖTTSCHING - Shuttlecock
CD
Special Remarks:
Many of you will remember Manuel Göttsching by his Masterpiece "E2-E4? and know the fact it got sampled by far more than once. Think "Sueno Latino" to start with… and the plethora of further re-recordings by Derrick May, Joe Claussell, and a bootleg by Carl Craig that prove how "Now" and Iconic Manuel´s Work is. The 2006 edition "Joaquin Joe Claussell meets Manuel Göttsching" is the first attempt to bring these once illegal mixes finally to a broader and wider audience. It comes with 2 very rare and first time officially released tribute mixes of 1970´s Göttsching Classics, carefully remodeled by Joe Claussell (21.12 minute "Deeper Distance" plus 10.17 Minute "Ain´t No Time For Tears"). The last words, however, are left to MG himself, with "Shuttlecock", a final eighteen minute excursion, which has Manuel improvise over a soft carpet of delayed bell sounds, before the guitar fades away and the track deepens and thickens, like a dark river sweeping along ever more motives and harmonies. A perfectly balanced collaboration released on both CD and LP.
Consisting of 3 concert recordings which were originally released on the 6th CD Album Private Tapes : Tracks 1 und 3 were recorded at Bataclan in Paris, 12/1976, Track 2 in Berlin 8/1979

Shortinfo:
The third release on Pooledmusic's techno-focused sister imprint Montage welcomes back Silvershower, revisiting the debut release of Ian Pooley's techno alias on its 20th anniversary. The original Ice Fractions 1 EP arrived on Plus 8 Records when Richie Hawtin & John Aquqaviva's legendary label was at the height of its powers, and showcased a tougher edge to Pooley's productions. Two decades later Pooley is still maintaining his high standards, revisiting and updating past work in the form of reissues & remixes and issuing fresh original material such as his recent Turakina EP on Pooledmusic and the return of Silvershower last year. which marked Montage's launch This new edition of the first Ice Fractions 12" supplies the two original lead tracks and an updated 2016 remix of each by Pooley himself, satisfying both those aiming for the vintage 1996 techno sound, and those looking for a punchy update for modern techno cathedrals.

B2. Ice Fractions 1B (1996 original)

Tracklist: A1. Night Walk A2. Pure B1. Amazonia
Info:
From his days organising free parties in and around Northwest France during the early 2000s, Oniris has risen the classical way: years of DJing have given him an innate understanding of dancefloor dynamics and a firm crew and label to create with: Astropolis. Since breaking through in 2011, his tracks have rapidly picked up support from all the right corners: Agoria, Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, Marc Romboy and Josh Wink have all lent their support. Having already released some of his finest work on Bedrock and Systematic, its now Ovum's turn to play host to Oniris' latestwork, the Nightwalk EP. Eschewing his penchant for the peak time, Oniris steers away from the euphoric's of previous outings and, whilst retaining his melodic moves, creates a selection of deep, warm and groovy cuts with a spiky electric edge. Head-nodders, shoulder-droppers & hip-swingers rejoice, these slinky dancefloor numbers are for you.
Support Coming from: Pete Tong, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Lane 8, Matthias Mayer, Christian Smith, Till Von Sein, Luca Bacchetti, Marc Romboy and more!!!!

youANDme & The Analog Roland Orchestra - Acid Mix
Tracklist 12":
A1. Reflection feat. Black Soda
A2. Reflection feat. Black Soda (Dub Tool)
B1. Reflection feat. Black Soda (Hyenah Remix)
B2. Reflection feat. Black Soda (Acid Mix)
Info:
Poker Flat Recordings deliver another killer collaboration, this time between Berlin's youANDme and The Analog Roland Orchestra. The result is Reflection - an EP containing more than its fair share of pure dance-floor moments. The Analog Roland Orchestra is Michal Matlak, the Berliner whose intimate knowledge of dance music's most iconic machines has made him a much-in-demand producer and remixer. Teaming up with party starters youANDme as well as vocalist Black Soda, the title track of this release explores deep vibrations, merging 303 basslines, crisp 909 programming and a highly effective vocal. The Dub Tool reworks the vocals into a more spacey arrangement, adding atmosphere for DJs who like to keep their sets stripped back and trippy. The Hyenah remix flips the script and develops a deep afro-house inspired cut - the man from the Caymen Islands developing an irresistible groove stretched out over seven and a half minutes. The Acid mix gives an opportunity for the guys to get busy working the 303 to its full (un) natural potential, while the Morning Light mix locks into a cosmic vibe - shimmering synths over a smooth, rolling deep house vibe.

Dynamite / 12. Sharp Bust 2.2 / 13. Beast (feat. Aymar) / 14. You Could Be The One I Want (feat. Simone White) / 15. Abstinence / 16. Anti Matter
Short info:
Channeling the energy echoing off dancefloors along his path, Reinier Zonneveld has been on a steady slope rolling out dance igniting productions while touring an intricate live set. Megacity Servant, the artist's third studio effort, stands as a coherent 16-piece techno outfit tinged with experimental tones while playfully deconstructing classic acid and disco fragments. Coming from a classical music background, Reinier's style of production ranges from cavernous powertracks to more concise trips subdued with melancholic piano-stemmed soundscapes, rounding up to a signature sound that is evident as it is enveloping.
Plastic People, our intro to Reinier's collective body of work, swiftly introduces a raw techno dungeon mood. Varying elements make for a surrealist atmosphere. Whispered vocals give a soft edge, while the contrast between the upbeat melody and grave stems reiterate its dreamlike character. Following up in the same timbre, a heavy-hitting percussion sets off 8 Ball. The moving bassline is revealed as centerpiece, while faint vocals antagonize the rhythm. Techno mainstay vocalist Cari Golden makes a notable appearance on Things We Might Have Said. Having previously teamed up with sonorous names like Pan Pot, Fur Coat & Coyu, Golden's stellar vocals and skillful lyrics shine paired with Zonneveld's production prowess. The production-vox chemistry is instant, as the track mesmerizes from the get go. Seizing attention for the full length of the track, the entire arrangement seduces the listener, making for a clamorous earworm. Upholding the remote connection between titles and melody cores, Disturbed Minds offers an experimental set of distorted synths permeating the speakers. Spacedge comes in the form of a groovy, laid back offering, with a blunt loopy vocal and a fractalic field recording of over 50 layers as memorable high points. A winding repetitive beat serves as backdrop for Gateway. With a focus on dancefloor antics, elements zigzag, mimicking the initial arrangement. Having created an immersive loop, the percussion switches sides playing the melody, making for a subtle awakening just in time for the title track. Megacity Servant makes use of the classic Roland SH-101's ability to emit a nearly tridimensional sound ray, unfolding newer details with each listen. The relentless melody, padded with grave synth arrays, establishes a melancholic mood, gradually depicting the auditive struggle of its title-named character. EHT unveils a heavy-hitting resolution, as the artist layers on hefty polarizing synths. The cut boasts a powerful arrangement that is unsettling and playful at the same time, diving into dark techno realms. Modern Voodoo offers a trip down the dreamy side of techno. Sharp clangs and high synths pepper the melody amounting to a relentless, mind-reprogramming tidbit. Drowning out the noise of the outside world, Dive slows down the storyline, leaving just enough room to breathe until Dynamite pops in. Bolstering a progressive melody with a spacy vocal hook, the track turns the usual SH-101's 70s string loop into a techno-palatable disco instance. Sharp Bust 2.2 is the sole production that's previously been released, now reworked and reconstructed to amp up and stabilize the raw techno energy. Channeling on the compelling vocal talents of Aymar, Beast unfolds as a spacious and multilateral sonic journey. Coming from a non-electronic musical background, the singer's lush voice offsets the metallic production pads, resulting in an intense contrast. Part of an ongoing collaboration with American pop-folk singer Simone White comes You Could Be The One I Want, a ludic techno ballad whose strong suit consists in the versatile nature of its vocals, being able to shift and reset moods. A steady groove with a wandering synth line, Abstinence brings a moment of brief calm, followed by pure downtempo in Anti Matter, closing off the narrative in an otherworldly manner.

fit of body - Track 4 (Galcher Lustwerk remix)
Having already issued a few cassettes via his own Harsh Riddims label as well as CGI's sister label DKA Records, Ryan Parks brings his Fit Of Body project to CGI for his debut 12" release. Here we are treated with two previously unreleased original cuts as well as Galcher Lustwerk and TWINS reworks of a pair of older tunes. Fit Of Body's sound is unique among the current crop of bedroom dance producers in that it can ignite a dancefloor while still feeling deeply personal. This mood is enhanced by the way Parks colours his tracks with his own voice. His approach to adding live instrumentation to the arrangements lends a handmade delicacy otherwise lacking in so much hyper-quantized machine music. These are tracks that will feel at home in the DJ booth, your living room and your bedroom.

Cryptic waves from the cyberspace: Nicola Kazimir is back on Croisière Musique with his « EARLY SYMPTOMS OF THE CYBERSPACE-YOUTH 2.0 EP ». Includes a proper remix by Barbir on b2. Croisière Musique has emerged from Paris in early 2014, founded by RX and François Halard. “Croisière” evokes the experience of getting lost in the music, night or day, from our frenetic feet moves on the floor to the deepest melancholy of our mind. Croisière Musique collaborates with young artists from various countries who form the new scene of electronic music, who make music with a distinctive look and care, a music which triggers emotions from special grooves.

ellery cowles - Crook-Ed
As the label continues to serve up mouthwatering house and hip hop, D3 Elements now dips its toes into more techno leaning territory with a series entitled Technologie. The first release comes from American D'Marc Cantu under his lesser known Rival alias and features three tracks of hypnotic and widescreen grooves. Cantu has put out plenty of EPs and LPs on labels like Creme, New York Haunted and MOS over the last decade, and also runs his own Run Out Run label. As well as working solo he has teamed up with the likes of JTC to great effect, and here he proves he cooks up unusual atmospheres and freaky sounds that really permeate the mind and body. Session 020 is first and is a woozy, spaced out number with trippy melodies and squelchy synths unfolding above a rolling and rubbery drum line. Acid prickles add texture to this serene bit of soul and pained vocals add a human feel, making it a truly intoxicating number. Session 026 is much busier, with frazzled textures, metal synths and hurried melodies making for an urgent tech cut that cannot help but make you dance. Lately, Session 006 is a gorgeous mid tempo number with smeared pads adding depth and soul, distant acid, glowing melodies and well treated vocals panning left and right. It is emotive electronic music with a real heart and heat to it, and it rounds out a classy and elegant

2
simian mobile disco - Far Away From A Distance (Lena Willikens remix)
For their third Delicacies 12" this year, SMD take a deeper, more spaced out approach, in contrast to the strict techno of the previous two releases. "Far Away From A Distance" features hypnotic synth washes that glide slowly in and out of time with the track's rhythmic bed, stumbling over each other in a 5am haze. "Flying Or Falling" pushes into classic SMD melodies, mournful Detroit indebted warmth spilling over the groove.
Guest remixer this time is the ever excellent Lena Willikens, delivering massive club fire in the form of her own much more minimal take on “Far Away From A Distance", stripping it back and only allowing the melody to intrude in the last third. After a short hiatus following their modular-only, desert recorded last album “Whorl”, during which SMD's James Ford found himself on production duties for everyone and their dog, SMD are back with bunch of techno cuts on their own Delicacies label. Over a couple of months in Jas Shaw's newly re-located synth-dense studio in leafy Kent, which saw SMD once again experiment with live jams as the basis for their production, they’ve pulled together a selection of eight tracks for release as a series of four singles over the coming months. SMD fans will note that the earlier naming convention of Delicacies has fallen by the wayside – for the simple reason that we’ve pretty much run out of weird and wonderful food stuffs to steal names from. Instead, a semi-random automated process has been used to create the track names.

thompson & lenoir - "Can't Stop The House" (LNR Underground remix)
In terms of "legendary" House records, it doesn't get any better than LNR's "Can't stop the house".
Originally released in the golden year of 1987 the Chicago duo of Larry Thompson and Rick Lenoir (with a helpful production assist from the mighty Adonis and a dope remix from Steve "Silk" Hurley) crafted this anthemic slab of chunky, funked out jacking House. "Can't stop the house" is a straightforward, stripped back club track, no special FX - just straight up party music for sweaty dancefloors. This official 2016 reissue contains 4 mixes of this stone cold classic - The vocal mix, basement mix, house of trix mix and the rapid edit, all culled from the numerous pressings that came out in 1987 - 1989. In a sense, this is "the complete" collection of this cornerstone of Chicago House. The full set. All audio has been lifted from Rick Lenoir's private collection of reel to reel tapes from his basement and remastered accordingly. This reissue has been realised with the full involvement of Thompson & Lenoir and is 100% legit! Don't snooze, this one deserves a spot in any self respecting House heads record bag or DJ set, classic material made available again for 2016 - You can't stop it!

lnr - Work It To The Bone (LNR Underground remix)
What can be said about LNR's "Work it to the bone"? Another slamming piece of Chicago House history brought to us by the dynamic duo of Larry Thompson and Rick Lenoir (LNR - Larry N' Rick) of the cult House Jam label. This is some straight 1987 HEAT, real House music for the heads, from the very beginning! "Work it to the bone" does exactly that, works every single part of your body into a frenzy, a cacophony of jacking sparse drum programming with that infamous descending bassline and that dude chanting, asking us to join him "C'mon let's work!" This record is a total classic. Period. Featured on this official 2016 reissue we have 4 mixes of this monolithic slab of machine funk that originally came out on various pressing between 1987 - 1989: The vocal mix, the instrumental, LNR clubhouse remix and the LNR underground mix. n a sense, this is "the complete" collection of this cornerstone of Chicago House. The full set. All audio has been lifted from Rick Lenoir's private collection of reel to reel tapes from his basement and remastered accordingly. Here is a new project introducing The Farmers aka Konsnix : Nixxon and Kons Istant from Copenhagen and Heninspace from Dresden. All started with “Toss Your Salat”, a dubby/acid jam made during a meeting in Dresden for a friend’s birthday, after listening the track Sacha Mambo decided to put it out on Macadam Mambo. Back in Copenhagen Konsnix started to work on “70A-1” a ruff electro track in the Viewlex style, on his side Heninspace worked on “Humla” a bit more atmospheric/acid tune. If you like druggy, psychedelic atmospheres this is for you.

180G cyan blue 12" vinyl with Laser-etched tracklist in double sleeves and a deluxe PvC wallet with flap. The outer sleeve is embossed with die cut over-sized centres, 2 spot uv stickers and a cyan metallic foiled stamp. Dimitri Fergadis's L.A based label Halocyan follow up a slew of high-profile releases from the likes of Paul Woolford, Arkist, Raudive and Gravious with the next coming courtesy of the ever-evolving Hackman backed up with remixes from Timo Maas and KiNK. At just 24, Hackman has already amassed a lauded back catalogue that's touched 20:20 Vision, Futureboogie, Greco-Roman and Rampa offshoot PTN. As an artist he's consistently diversified his sound and - akin to the ethos of Halocyan - has kept one foot firmly in dance music's rich history as well as looking forwards with each release. His latest offering 'Semibreves' shows Hackman returning to the tougher, more armoured facet of his catalogue epitomised by his collaboration with Tessela on Audio Culture back in 2011. Complex, primal rhythms are laced with his stout and muscular bass tones while he uses melody to astutely whip up rapture. First up on remix duties is Rockets & Ponies co-founder Timo Maas; a stalwart experimentalist who has earned his stripes across a vast and varied back catalogue. His take on 'Grass Green' melds rasping bass tones with twisted and eerie melodies that roll out over an elongated breakdown. Next up is KiNK whose penchant for analogue circuitry is manifested across his harmonious remix of 'Semibreves' - swooning synth propel a major / minor shift as his rattling drums keep the pressure up throughout and bolster another solid addition to the Halocyan series.

pete herbert & dicky trisco - B. PERFECTO
After a Summer of trips around the globe to play at Croatian festivals, Balinese beach clubs and a variety of underground establishments, Pedro & Dicky deliver the latest episode on their own Paradise Row label. The EP fuses their love of Disco, House, Italo and Balearic sounds and is a proper party-starting, medium sized player with tracks that are ripe for most dance floor moments and occasions. The up-for-it, head-nodding arps and discoid thrills of 'Dance To Love' get things going in style. While the chunky House and Barbarellas inspired vibes of 'I Think I Can Feel Something' will really get you moving. This one has been going down a storm in the clubs this Summer. And finally, things come to a grande finale with 'Perfecto', which cooks up Italian influences with Ma Foombey style longings to make for a sound as Balearic as large hierbas on ice. PERFECTO!

Seeing as Public Release is a San Francisco label and sister to Face, a long-running local party, you could say it was inevitable the label would put out a record that candidly celebrates its hometown’s talent, color, character. 415-PR10, whose name is an ode to S.F.’s first, emblematic area code, is exactly that: a frenetic survey of some of Northern California’s finest producers— and a blueprint of sorts for more similarly-minded and -themed EPs in the future. The 12-inch gets warmed up with an uncharacteristically brief yet captivating nugget of West Coast-tinted Balearica by Anonstop, a mysterious entity whose debut release was a pair of edits on the cult imprint Blackdisco that came out five years ago. Then, 40 Thieves, a collective of some of the region’s most lauded and sought-after diggers, rev things up and settle into cruise control with Cage & Aviary’s dubby, drifting mix of “Lower Haighter.” It has a peculiar, crooked patience that sounds like an invitation to seek out all that goes bump in the night. The strobes begin to flash on the flip with Be´zier’s “Domination,” a swinging Italo disco riot that’s as sweaty and frisky as it is focused and no-nonsense. It’s a subtly twisted jam that you’ll swear played for hours when it sharply ends in a bass-and-hi-hat reprise, which is probably exactly what it was made to do; Be´zier, a.k.a. Robert Yang, is one fourth of Honey Soundsystem, the San Francisco DJ crew that’s been throwing parties for over a decade. The EP calls it with the Beat Broker’s “Trade Secrets,” a glittery shuffler that almost serves as a medley of the three cuts it’s preceded by. A dollop of velvety kosmische, a cup of slow-mo disco, and a sprinkle of underspoken piano house, it’s a freeing way to wrap the four-tracker.

zarate_fix & dj sotofett - Solar Mixxx
Cosmic & earthy dubbed out house by Zarate_Fix from Narrabeen & DJ Sotofett of Moss – Sex Tags Mania. The percussive title track expands little by little until reaching a cosmic choral state, then giving space for a long-driven flute solo. B1 provides pure dub chains of percussion and an extended flute part while B2 goes further towards the beatless beautiful cosmos with soft chimey new age ambient synths.

Michele Pinna presents a new LP under a fresh moniker and alter ego, Time Traveler, representing a direct confrontation of the artist's own fear of time as an unrelenting force. The LP, titled ‘I'm Made Of Stars / Journal’, takes inspiration from conversations between Pinna and his father on the topics of galaxies, space and of course, time. These converstions were the starting point for the abstract, futuristic and dark work presented on the new LP. The release also draws on Pinna's artistic interests outside of music, presenting a work not just of sound, but one with a coherent visual aesthetic spanning the physical releases of the LP. This visual aesthetic has taken shape through multiple collaborations with the photograpers, stylists and designers Nicolas Mazzei, Danila Tkachenko, Khourianbeer and Cinzia Araia. The resulting album is a twisting sci-fi journey invoking images of a dystopian galactic future. Pinna takes techno and filters it through his own imagination, dismantling it and rebuilding it with an unheard palette of textures, timbres and rhythms. At times disorientating and chaotic and at others, restrained and delicate, the LP has one foot in dance music and the other in emotional and visionary experimentation. The album will arrive on Pinna's new label, Chronicles Diary, set up specififically for this release which can be considered much like a diary or journal of Pinna's emotions and imaginings of the future. A limited edition vinyl release will come with a fitting physical package much like a real black diary. Inside the sleeve can be found prints that are the product of Pinna's several collaborations, and serve to provide a visual reference point to the futuristic vision of Time Traveler. The standard vinyl release, aimed more at DJs, will come in paper moleskine packaging. Alongside these, there will be a cassette published followed by a digital release in the next months.

v.a. - 2.014.2
Various Artist EP ‘Collaborations 2’ from Unlock Recordings, featuring tracks from label head Solimano, Bruno De Vincenti, Christian Burkhardt, Barem and Federico Molinari. Gonzalo Solimano first created the Unlock Recordings imprint back in 2004 as a platform to support Latin American productions, and ever since then the Buenos Aires label has played host to the likes of Guti, Jorge Savoretti and Franco Cinelli. The second instalment in the label’s ‘Collaborations’ series, Solimano now invites German producer Christian Burkhardt to join Argentinian talents Bruno De Vincenti, Oslo Records artist Federico Molinari and Fun Records founder Barem for a split release. First up is Solimano & Bruno De Vincenti’s cut ‘Love Nebulae’ which layers infectious percussion with gentle chord sequences and filtered effects. Christian Burkhardt’s ‘Doog’ then cuts in on a deeper and darker tip, with a low-slung bass groove and hypnotic pad sequences. Up next is Barem’s ‘Funk Duck’ with its rolling percussion, staggered synths and a pulsating low end, before Federico Molinari rounds off the package with ‘2.014.2’, blending dubby bass patterns, chopped samples and frantic synth spirals.

luke hess - Maher Daniel Other Side remix
This September will see Visionquest release ‘Selector’ from Luke Hess, coming accompanied with remixes from Delsin artist d5, label co-founder Lee Curtiss and Maher Daniel. Detroit artist Luke Hess has been one of the most celebrated acts coming out of the motor city over the past decade with an impressive back catalogue boasting material on Omar S’ FXHE, Carl Craig’s Planet E, Echochord and Kontra-Musik to name but a few. Here though we see Hess join the roster of Visionquest following recent output from Wareika, Vlad Caia, Tuccillo and Mirko Loko. Title cut ‘Selector’ takes the lead and Luke Hess delivers his signature energy fuelled dub-led style with spiralling stab sequences, electronic jazz-tinged synth licks and a robust rhythmic drive. Delsin’s d5 steps up next on remix duties, delivering a similarly dubbed-out aesthetic while introducing glitchy arp’s, smoothly evolving string lines and a more refined drum style. Opening the latter half of the package is Visionquest’s very own Lee Curtiss taking on ‘Selector’ with a contrasting approach, dropping the tempo to create a slow burning feel with bumpy percussion, chugging bass tones and sporadic sweeps. Maher Daniels closes with the final remix, delivering a less-is-more interpretation focusing on intricately evolving atmospheric in the depths of the record while a sturdy rhythmic foundation carries the groove.

yyyy - Reach For Forgiveness
YYYY have already fortified their position in the Weekend Circuit family with the ominous drones of ‘Locus Of Control’, their split release with Stanislav Tolkachev earlier in the year. Returning with an inscrutable depth of self-explorative techno, the labels 14th release ‘Intention Of Mortal' is a sonic dissonance of combined heavy-going and captivating artistry. 'Stone Relief On God's Face' is the plangent tone YYYY have chosen to begin their narrative. Formed from tribal, religious and industrial undertones, this beat-free immersive environment of sound brings with it a warm introduction. A2 sees ‘Regain' quickly permeate the release to a passage of expansive and clear cut techno while continuing a dark intrigue. The standout bass and rolling kicks make it an undeniably compelling and dance hard track, harnessed by its own evolving soundscapes.
'Intention of Mortal' with its improvised hook, merges 90s space voyager highs, echoed melody and fragmented rhythm in to an ever impending trip to the horizon of happy imminence. Thought provoking and full of stimulant, B1 brings a flood to the senses. Saving the most dizzying until last, 'Reach For Forgiveness' is a harmonic war-machine of disjointed, pulverising electronic music capable moving the unnerved. A cross of lurching percussion makes the steady reps of the kick warped and emotive. Expressive and unapologetic, YYYY have come back with an unneutralised description of what techno means to them.
