My first meeting with Keita Sano
A little over a year ago I spent a day off in the lovely seaside town Enoshima. There is a
really nice club, cafe and concert venue there called Oppa-La which I had played the previous night. So my dear friend and japanese promoter Hagi tells me we should go back there the following night as there will be local bands playing followed by a live-set from Keita Sano. I was only vaguely familiar with his music but had noticed his name crop up more and more frequently so off we went.
a couple of beers later and around the third track in : somehow managing to merge the playfullness of disco with the physical impact of techno I'm sold there and then.
over a friendly chat and more beers later I clumsily present an offer to release his music and hopefully even all the things he played that night. a few days later the album as you hold in front of you AND more or less a replica of that live-set arrives in my inbox.

Keita Sano is part of Japan's new wave of music producers and he´s been on our map since a very long while.

With releases on Let´s Play House, Mister Saturday Night, 1080p, Lower Parts, Row, Strictly Groove Recordings, Enother Blessing, Holic Trax and Spring Theory Keito
He´s not only not unknown to us but
has shown his eclectic taste and zany approach to music at home and aboard.
And his first 4 Track EP offering for your´s truly does proved that once more so .
The Okayama resident has been weaving his way through house, techno and electronica releases displaying an affinity to old school processes and vintage gear which you can hear in every bit of his classy unmistakable sound.
Raw, rugged & slightly alarming but dry and focused to a massive funk attitude, is this the actual "big room underground"?

However, be it the top or water dripping cellar floor this is modern analogue techno at it´s most stringent - and hey there´s a full album it coming later this year.
