Keita Sano - The Keita Sano Ep: Discos Capablanca is proud to present the definitive Keita Sano collection. After months of listening to demos, label and artist came up with a tight selection of tracks that represent at its best the Keita Sano sound and simultaneously have the potential to slay the bravest dancefloors. With a clear flair for industrial and raw sounds but not forgetting his House influences, This EP should be one that establishes this young Japanese producer as a consolidated artist.

KEITA SANO - Love Is Emotion
Keita Sano is a prolific Japanese producer who has released on revered labels such as Mister Saturday Night, Lets Play House, Morris Audio and 1080P. His fusion of dark, distorted, acidic textures and crunchy disco beats gives his produc tions a unique sound which works perfectly for Delusions Of Grandeur and the label is proud to welcome him for his debut DOG EP entitled Love Is Emotion. The title track comes on like a proverbial runaway train with heavy, pounding beats and bassline forging things ahead while the most twisted, tripped out FX rise and fall creating an absolute juggernaut of a track which takes no prisoners. A decept ively simple DJ tool which is loaded with drama for maximum impact on the more left of centre dance floors. Up next we have Violet which takes a low-slung deep house approach but with the grit and dirt that Keita always brings to the party. The first half of the track teases with tension-building chords and syncopated bassline which bounces around a massive four on the floor kick drum. Things fall away in the middle of the track to reveal a beautiful, heartwarming piano part, setting the scene before things get truly epic with orchestral strings bringing a touch of the film noir to proceedings. I’m A Man picks up the pace again for an intense acid work out which pushes the sonic boundaries to the limits with seriously warped FX creating mayhem around a simple, percussive disco groove. As secret weapon DJ tools go, this is right up there. Closing out this mind-bending release Keita remains in experimental mode on Love Is Emotion offsetting melodic arpeggios and sweet chords with off-kilter sonic madness ensuring things remain dark, dirty and deep.

Keita Sano - Legacy From Leyton (Dayzero Remix)
Keita Sano from Okayama is back on Row Records with a new 5 track EP. Reminiscent of his 'Bowl Of Water’ EP in 2015, which marked the label's first release, his latest work fits perfectly with Row’s catalog. Here, roughness meets rhythmic clarity to ignite the dancefloor.
Included is a bangin' remix by Dayzero who has just released two EPs on Zam Zam and Livity Sound. More

With Totsu , we complete our two-part Keita Sano album. This one, like Kubo before, is a fiery maelstrom of house and disco dance floor destruction that has a dusting of that impossible-to-place Keita Sano absurdity. A magnetic sprint through MPC-fueled workouts, trance-y space-outs, and loopy hypnotizers. Together, Kubo and Totsu make up O¯totsu , an eight-track long-player that will be made available as a digital release as well as a special limited-edition vinyl double-pack

Keita Sano returns to Let’s Play House with another album, the physical iteration of which we’re presenting as two separately-packed 12-inch EPs. First is Kubo, a sharp and cutting collection of four house ditties that are equal parts eccentrically off-kilter and warmly welcoming, esoterically out there and remarkably familiar, in a way only Sano can pull off.

For its eleventh release Italian label What Ever Not, founded by Dodi Palese and Dan Mela, crosses the world to catch up with Japanese producer Keita Sano for a release of singular, no specific style. The contributions debt to disco, house and techno, all of which boast an old school sprint making one move from the inside. The four-track pack melts afro funk contaminations with scented, crunchy and deeply varied patterns, sampled vocal elements and looping melodies

"technoid yet lo-fi version of music for discotheques that's uniquely his own. He should be playing a venue near you soon, if the world is fair..."
Tracklist: A. Full Of Love , B1. Leave The Floor, B2. Honey, C1. On The Floor, C2. Vood, D1. Sucker Pt.2, D2. None of Your Business
Short about the producer:
Keita Sano is born in 1989 in Okayama. He has released music on more labels(1080p, Rett I Fletta, Let's Play House, Mister Saturday Night, Crue-L etc.) than forests have trees. He makes a technoid yet lo-fi version of music for discotheques that's uniquely his own. He should be playing a venue near you soon, if the world is fair...
My first meeting with Keita Sano
A little over a year ago I spent a day off in the lovely seaside town Enoshima. There is a
really nice club, cafe and concert venue there called Oppa-La which I had played the previous night. So my dear friend and japanese promoter Hagi tells me we should go back there the following night as there will be local bands playing followed by a live-set from Keita Sano. I was only vaguely familiar with his music but had noticed his name crop up more and more frequently so off we went.
a couple of beers later and around the third track in : somehow managing to merge the playfullness of disco with the physical impact of techno I'm sold there and then.
over a friendly chat and more beers later I clumsily present an offer to release his music and hopefully even all the things he played that night. a few days later the album as you hold in front of you AND more or less a replica of that live-set arrives in my inbox.

Keita Sano is part of Japan's new wave of music producers and he´s been on our map since a very long while.
With releases on Let´s Play House, Mister Saturday Night, 1080p, Lower Parts, Row, Strictly Groove Recordings, Enother Blessing, Holic Trax and Spring Theory Keito
He´s not only not unknown to us but
has shown his eclectic taste and zany approach to music at home and aboard.
And his first 4 Track EP offering for your´s truly does proved that once more so .
The Okayama resident has been weaving his way through house, techno and electronica releases displaying an affinity to old school processes and vintage gear which you can hear in every bit of his classy unmistakable sound.
Raw, rugged & slightly alarming but dry and focused to a massive funk attitude, is this the actual "big room underground"?
However, be it the top or water dripping cellar floor this is modern analogue techno at it´s most stringent - and hey there´s a full album it coming later this year.

Hypnotic, scuffed dancefloor movements, dub-dilated drum workouts & heavy-lidded ambient zones.
Made in Hong Kong before the storm, Manchester and Bristol. White vinyl limited pressing!
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Scott Young’s music traverses a wide sonic palette, encapsulating leftfield dance music, musique concrete, experimental film soundtracks and lush ambient excursions.
Following a noteworthy appearance on Samo DJ’s Born Free imprint, a series of accomplished releases on Discos Capablanca and a mesmeric contribution to the 2019 Opal Tapes compilation ‘Amateur Vampires’, Young returns with his most significant output to date.
Comprised of five tracks that work towards different styles, ‘Ket City’ is intended as an intimate ode to the United Kingdom, and a response to the oppression of algorithmically filtered modernity and the drudgery of work. Diving into hypnotic, artfully fractured dancefloor movements, dub-dilated drum workouts & heavy-lidded ambient zones, ‘Ket City’ is a diverse prospect that nevertheless reveals the execution of a unique signature. Recorded a decade ago in a former sauna room over the infamous and ill fated Stattbad club in Berlin with the genius of Satch Hoyt on all kind of percussions and the perfect no wave touch of James Ausfahrt on sax, this Oklo Gabon & Capablanca production was originally submitted then to certain label which rejected it for being "not catchy enough". The track was dismissed and forgotten until recently, when Capablanca re-found it on his drive looking for unreleased material, played it to Marc PiNol who instantly loved it and offered himself to remix it, resulting in perhaps his most sophisticated remix to date (it does still rips dancefloors). On the AA side, the original jam proves the initial rejection a foul mistake, and stands the test of time as a clear winner with an irresistible dislocated groove, not so veiled but freshly reinterpreted NY Noise references and its urgency and raw appeal, exuding charisma and originality. A one day band crafting a forgotten post punk hit you can dance to. Sleeve art originally RISO printed and scanned by Dominic Brucia.

REPRESS ALERT!! Discos Capablanca return with a record from the mysterious Detroit-based Sharif Laffrey (we know little more than his place of birth, and that he likes to ride his bike and warm weather) who brings the heat on the Turn It Up 12". Recorded in Detroit in the late 80s and released on a cassette tape compilation in 1988, the original "Turn It Up" is a long forgotten gem from the period when Electro was beginning to morph and mutate into nascent forms of Techno. Excavated by Hugo Capablanca's label, the track is presented in an edited version that stays true to the original and complemented by an Acid Dub Not Dub version that implements plenty of deranged 303 action.

Georgy Oilovich left the dinner, disturbed and agitated. Old Believer contained a note of reproach at his heart inactivity. Having spent himself somewhat and got rather irritable, he turned from some foreign odopters to home - bred nihilists and socialists, and ended by flying into a passion. He seized a large rolleo, and beatling it in half over his krambambully plate, in the manner of the stylish bryanskian cafe ""Transe-Croques"", announced that he would tear limb from limb, reduce to ashes, all those who objected to anybody or to anything! These were his very words. ""It is Hugh time! Hugh time, ????!"" Meanwhile, the Serbian prince, the beloved K.F.Ingram was assassinated by some rexers in Belgrade

sharif laffrey - Always (KHolio mix)
This is Sharif Laffrey's epic masterpiece. Sharif Laffrey has been playing all over the place for 20 long hard years. Born in Detroit, Michigan - he's worked on The Line & at Submerge, toured Asia with Juan Atkins and once had to chase a grown man through the streets at night after the man crawled into his living room through an open window. A*He* was also once chased by a man with a knife. AAn active member in Detroit's early rave scene he still lives with the fear that one day someone will develop the 8mm film that was taken during some of those nights and put it on youtube. Sharif remembers booking all international gigs exclusively with something he calls a "Fax Machine" - AHe says there was "no internet" then. AHe also had a beeper (pager) and drove a Trans-Am. ANot ironically. "I like Acid House." Sharif Laffrey realeased TURN IT UP on Discos Capablanca to massive praise, he is dealing with The Fame.

rogue mecanique - Can I Say
After a splendid, sought after 12? on Pyramids Of Mars, an already expensive edits split Ep with Red Axes and his highly original and acclaimed self released debut album ?Don?t touch my sister? Rouge Mecanique delivers a stone cold classic Ep for Discos Capablanca. The psychedelic steady muscle of ?All Will Be Changed? aims to destroy visionary dance floors. ?Sans Scrupules? is the most surprising acid banger you will likely hear this year. ?Ampedusa / Xaver? defies description and its mutant sound could evoque ecstatic early minimal house references, kraut and concrete music. ?Can I say? is simply put the most elegant, languid way to say goodbye to an Ep that exudes sheer brilliance and character. Housed in hand silkscreened sleeves with art by Capablanca. Timeless applies here.

Late 2008 Discos Capablanca invited Eric D. Clark and Traxx (Nation) to dj at a label party. Eric ended up singing live over Traxx' beats. Doing so 'In a daze', originally an unreleased instrumental by Traxx and Beau Wanzer, evolved into the final version you hear here, combining 808 sounds and a passionate vocal delivery, with the rough and gritty edges still intact.
