On the B Side the soulful groove B1 “Birth of Blue” featuring Elbee Bad providing whispering melodic vocal sprinkled on top an ever moving progression that even includes some great horn stabs. Rounding out the EP is the B2 “Birth of Blue” featuring Elbee Bad & Andreas Saag, providing a groovy solo-esc piano, riffing throughout this already groovy number.

Samuel L Session , - Blue Ripple
Sweden's veteran DJ & producer Samuel L Session makes his first appearance on Detelefunk with the "Blue Ripple EP". A gem of a single that keeps things deep, yet for the dancefloor, showing his unique blend of the Techno & House genres.
Starting production back in 1997 with his own Cycle imprint he broke into the music scene with releases such as "In Your Box" & "Check Out This I Bring".
It wasn't long before his production skills were in demand from many other labels, and he released singles on labels such as Kanzleramt, Phont, Hardgroove, and Monoid. As things started to take off he started his 2nd label, SLS, on which he had even more success with tracks like "Merengue".
As his production developed he decided in 2006 start a new label, Klap Klap, to focus more on the direction his music was taking him, a funkier, deeper sound.
This resulted in yet another worldwide hit with "Can You Relate" featuring the Detroit Grand Pubahs own Paris The Black FU, being picked up by DJs such as Steve Rachmad, Joris Voorn, Slam to name a few.
Remix requests soon followed getting attention with his remixes of Funk D' Void's "Diablo" on Soma + Blake Baxter & Trevor Rocklife's "Visions Of You" on Carl Cox's label Intec. Producers such as Kevin Saunderson, Jerome Sydenham, Audio Soul Project, Len Faki and Alexi Delano among others, all had their music tweaked and remade by the man.
Blue Ripple is a groovy tech house extravaganza, teasing throughout with alluring strings. While Staccato & Odyssey pick the pace up more and head for those late night peak time dancefloors with, driving kicks & filtered stabs.
With support for his productions from DJs like Laurent Garnier, Rolando, Francois Kevorkian, Christian Smith and Adam Beyer amoungst many others, Blue Ripple is set to send tiddle waves through the dance scene, not ripple's!

Only for an artist like Samuel L Session and on labels like Be As One, you could put together a remixes pack with some of the most genre defining producers in the dance music of the recent time and beyond. Such is indeed for SLS album "The Man With The Case" remixes pack. On the A side you have label boss Shlomi Aber, soon to release his 2nd long awaited artist album on Ovum, who has reworked "Big Bad Drum" in a jazzier, dubbier vein. Damage is assured on the dancefloors. Cadenza's main man Reboot takes Samuel's "The Soloist" and turns it into an hipnotic techno journey, something very different from what Frank is known for. Stacey Pullen needs no introduction, being one of the leaders of the Second Wave of Detroit Techno he's a legend in the scene. With him, SLS' "Sections" get reworked to a new high. To close the package, "The Soloist" get remixed by SLS himself, and it's turned into a new dancefloor groover, bearing once again the swedish master imprint.

'The Man With The Case' is a culmination of two decades of experience from Swedish old school techno legend Samuel L. Session. The sound of the past often collides with current movements but never has it sounded so fresh than from Samuel L. Session AKA SLS. His skills and knowledge from the evolving electronic music scene create a stark and original album project to remind us what the real sound of techno is. Sounding as fresh as the early days of the 909, 'The Man With The Case' harks back to the house veins of Kevin Saunderson and Derrick May but in an inspiring new context, digging into the roots of techno while stamping the SLS classic and groovy print into each production. The album opens elegantly with 'Time', drifting into a dreamy and evocative atmosphere glowing with luminosity. Bouncing straight into 'Chimes', the B side for the first EP release earlier this year sinks quickly into rolling grooves and soars with radiant melodies. The tempo is raised with burning dancefloor cuts 'Tronic', 'My People' and Big Bad Drum', the classic bomb released earlier this summer on Be As One, and simmers with the smouldering embers of the warmth of house music in 'Lucious' and 'Past and Present'. Menacing flares and bold snares make 'The Soloist' shake the skull and the closing moments in 'Tight Stack' and 'Pulse' offer a chance for reflection and new insight. Samuel L. Session's career began in the late eighties when mixing hip hop and early forms of techno and house in his home of Sweden. His SLS guise soon became synonymous with groovy techno through a string of high profile releases on labels such Planet E, Soma and Intec and remixes for techno veterans such as Slam and Kevin Saunderson. SLS also founded a string of his own successful imprints, Solid Beat, Cycle and Klap Klap, each making a significant mark on the landscape of techno. Now a main player in the Be As One family, 'The Man With The Case' gives way to a new dawn in electronic music, while still keeping the spirit of it's origins alive.

Another legendary techno producers deliver the goods on Be As One. This time is Sweden's own Samuel L Session with 2 singles straight out of his upcoming first ever artist album, soon to be released on the israeli label. "Big Bad Drum" is exactly what the title says, a drums driven track with a bassline reminiscent of Saunderson's "E-Dancer" techno. Already tested by a few lucky ones, this tune is having a monster impact on the dancefloors with its funky snares and distinctive over voice . "Chimes" still carries an old school vibe, taking a classical and deeper approach. SLS sound at its best, reminds us why the don has been here for the last 15 years. A solid preview of what to expect from Samuel's album, classical groovy techno which reminds us how real techno is suposed to sounds like. Forthcoming on Be As One in October.

Samuel L Session , - Choose Two
Samuel L Session is a Be As One artist in full effect now, as he is now also under the imprint own management and booking agency. Thus this debut EP from him carry an extra special value. The man never fails to impress as he steers away from his acclaimed "fast-loopy-techno-drums-grooves" and explores and deeper techno territories with this "Choose EP". Both sides are two great Samuel's interpretation of dubby atmospheric techno. "Choose One" is a bass-filled dub affair that takes the shape of a gentle dub techno march while on the b side, the atmospheric chord of "Choose Two" cradles the ears into a deeper landscape. Both a remarkable example of Samuel's well known production skills and Be As One taste for quality music.

The idea behind the KMS "Origins" series is to shine a light on the lesser known cuts in the KMS vaults as well as the classics that have given the label it's legendary status during it's lifetime. Hot on the heels of the previous collections for the label, the 'Origins' series presents another stellar selection of jams from the legendary Detroit label's archives. Opening the EP is K.A. Posse aka Kaay Alexi, a legendary producer whose 'Tell Alexi' features here, a raw, low slung acid burner with sultry vocals and tough as nail drum programming from 1989. Killer stuff indeed. Following that we have the Jovonn Blade mix of Terrence Parker's The Lost Articles jam 'Touch Me Baby' from 1993 - some classic Detroit early proto-beatdown sounds, rough and ready and still doing damage today. On the flip is the stone cold banger 'Flash' by FIX aka Orlando Voorn, this demented P-Funk ripper never quits and is a monster! Classic material. Finishing things off is the MK mix of Nexus 21's 'Still Life Keeps Moving On', it doesn't get any bigger than this, pure heat. Pretty much an all-star line up on vol. 4, a perfect release for the novice and expert alike! File under classic, all tracks encapsulate the Detroit sound while retaining that raw energy and vibe that this music is famous for! Heat!

C&M Connection - - Bio Rhythms

R Tyme - - Illusion
Across 4 tracks here on EP #3 we have some heavy hitters for sure - Terrence Parker's stellar 'Come with me', a deeply solid soulful cut of the highest order, flipping a well known vocal sample in the process and teaming it up with some soaring strings and pads. TP is already a legend and his style is unique, tracks like 'Come with me' will always have that timeless quality. 24-7-365 was a monicker used by a young Mr. Derrick Carter (alongside George Andros) the 'Tropical House' mix of 'Sample That!' first dropped in 1989(!) and is a rough and ready robotic jam featuring all manner of samples for the eagle eared to get stuck into, proper early house sounds right here, the way it should be done - with the FUNK intact! Side B sees a stone cold classic kicking things off - C&M Connection's 'Bio-Rhythms' leads us in, these artists would be known a little later under the guises of Altern-8 and Nexus 21 leading the UK rave charge. 'Bio-Rhythms' is Detroit leaning techno-soul of the highest order, smooth, melodic and introspective - a late night / early morning winner. The mighty R-Tyme round out the EP, one of the maestro Derrick May's pseudonyms from back in the day, here May bends genres (alongside Detroit luminary D. Wynn) and pushes a futuristic sound that is uncategorizable, sounding like little else from the time (1989!) 'Illusions' is classy, other-worldly and techno in it's purest, most crystalized form - Utterly essential! 4 absolute jams from the KMS catalogue, for the hardcore or the newly initiated - Now is the time - Acquaint yourself! Selected, remastered and repressed with the full cooperation of KMS records, Detroit MI.

Detroit techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson has revived his underground house moniker E-Dancer with “Into the Future,” a rolling futuristic nod to the sound of Detroit Techno. Swirling retro-future synths, echoed out claps and solid bass line that just screams Detroit. The track’s gritty yet groovy sentiment is a perfect continuation of the very first E-Dancer album Heavenly, released in 1998.

Kevin Saunderson's KMS imprint is a label that should require no introduction. The motor city label has been a Techno mainstay since it's inception in 1987. Numerous Detroit luminaries have released classic after classic on the labels hallowed grooves over the last 25+ years and it's influence is still felt in contemporary dance music today. The idea behind the KMS "Origins" series is to shine a light on the lesser known cuts in the KMS vaults as well as the classics that have given the label it's legendary status during it's lifetime. Hot on the heels of the debut collection for the labels 'Origins' series we are pleased to present another stellar selection of jams from the legendary Detroit label's archives. Kicking off EP #2 is the man himself, Anthony 'Shake' Shakir here utilising his Schematics alias to deliver to us the storming almost hardcore-esque 'Shock therapy' from 1992. This cut is rough, raw and is intent on troubling your bass-bins with some low frequency and breakbeats sounding like it's coming straight from the D via Essex! Heavyweight. Following Shake we have Dwayne Jensen with a slamming cut from 2000, lifted from a white label only release this is true school Detroit techno, perfect for dark basements, taking no prisoners! Exclusive to this EP. On the b-side we hand over to the label boss and legend in his own right - Reese! 2 classic jams back to back on 1 side. Both 'Bassline' and 'Funky funk funk' have been road-tested for years and bear the classic hallmarks of this legendary producer. You cannot go wrong with this era Reese material, classic stuff, encapsulating the Detroit sound while retaining that raw energy and vibe that this music is famous for! Heat! 100% legit, compiled with the assistance of Kevin 'Reese' Saunderson and the whole KMS family, Detroit, MI.

Kevin Saunderson, a driving force behind Detroit’s rich musical heritage and lauded innovator of techno, returns to his own KMS Records to deliver another unstoppable club weapon under his E-Dancer moniker - One Nation. One Nation begins its 6 minute journey with signature Saunderson percussion and a pounding 4/4 flow that oozes peak-time energy. An eerie and funk tinged synth fills the space with an intoxicating refrain to keep feet stomping, which later trades centre-stage for a heavy and evolving bass line as the track continues on its path of ebbs and flows. This heater aptly demonstrates why Kevin Saunderson it still one of the hottest names in dance music. As suited for sweaty basements as it is festival main stages, One Nation will surely feature in the bags of techno heavyweights for months to come.

Kicking off EP 001 are Intercity, a collaborative effort between Saunderson, Derrick May and James "Suburban Knight" Pennington. "Groovin without doubt" is the track featured and is typical of the stripped back machine funk that would emanate from Detroit in the coming decades, originally released in 1987 the track still sounds killer on today's dancefloors! Following is the legendary Stacey Pullen aka Cosmic Messenger with his deep, melodic "Soundscape (Intricate mix)", released in 1993 on KMS offshoot label Eclipse the track pushes a supremely futuristic edge that showcases Pullen's prowess as a producer who is often unfairly underrated. Still sounding like it's from another planet "Soundscape" continues to excite and remain contemporary. Side B begins with some classic KMS breakbeat / Rave stylings from Master Reese himself, "You're Mine" is a sample heavy cut n paste monster from 1990, the "original mix" is featured here and still sounds like it weighs a ton, drop this one on a big system and watch the crowd lose it. Often imitated, never bettered! Rounding out the EP we have E-Dancer's "Pump the move", a stripped back, almost tribalish jam from 1991. This is some direct, heads down, dark dancefloor material, driving drums and synth stabs are woven through loose drum programming to create a "runaway train" feeling. Definitely one for the peak time dancefloors! "Origins" 001 will appeal to those who are new to KMS and will serve as the perfect entry point, it will also appeal to the diehard fans who dig that hardcore Detroit sound!

Kevin Saunderson's Detroit-based imprint celebrated its 25th Anniversary back in 2012, and the label's continued to cement its legacy with key vinyl reissues over the past couple of years. The recent campaign included Saunderson's Just Want Another Chance, the track which contains the "Reese" bassline—rivaled only by the Amen break as a formative element of drum & bass—as well as '90s releases from MK, Kreem (Saunderson's duo with Juan Atkins) and Chez (Damier) N (Ron) Trent. The two remix compilations dwell on Chez N Trent versions produced during the 1993 through 1995 period, when they released enduring originals like "Morning Factory" and "The Choice." Volume One contains remixes of Sonya Blade and Miller/Scott Project while the second EP includes Damier and Trent's versions of Kreem as well as Saunderson's seminal vocal house group, Inner City. Chez N Trent's takes on Naomi Daniel's "Feel The Fire" and Essar'ay's "Forces" are also included.
