Wonderful energetic dance music with well integrated rhythmic and melodic structures. Cristi Cons is a romanian musician from known [a:rpia:r] who also runs his own Amphia imprint. This to the point dance-floor-proven EP now becomes available, pressed into solid wax as Cristis debut on Meander. Lifelong studies in classical music as a cellist have sharpened his sensitivities for unique harmonies and a good ear for sounds. A few years back he got fascinated by the modern spirit of club music surrounding him in Bucharest and beyond. Besides working on his solo productions, he recently worked with Pedro Inspirescu for the TT Ensemble project released on Yojik-Concon. Furthermore he created Sideways Invisibility Theory together with Vlad Caia plus a new cooperational jam called Verico with Raresh and Vlad. We are certain Cristi Cons will continue to make waves in a muscial field which is fascinated by feelings, rhythm and the observation of nature.

Impossible Rendez-Vous is an hypnotic and meandering house excursion by swing maestro Guillaume and his jazzed out Coutu Dumonts. Label co-owner DeWalta returns back to Meander after his latest releases on Vakant and Cynosure - These three personal tracks, were carefully mastered and cut by Stefan Betke aka Pole at Scape Mastering. The first track „Keep On“ comes with characteristic vocals by jazz-singer Judith Ahrends. Just keep on moving! Then the extended Keep On dub mix concentrates on pure grooves and will work its magic on a good soundsystem. „Sauvignon“ on the flipside wanders to higher emotional states, comes with a warm and tricky house rhythm, that makes you swing and shake. Pure atmosphere and presence. Everything was written, played and produced by DeWalta in his studio in Berlin. This production emphasizes DeWalta s own musical signature as it gives you more depth and sound design than just another simple, dancefloor track. The Meander label presents us a new signing to their family with a powerful record from Ion Ludwig. 3 songs on vinyl, including a DeWalta rework and another remix as a digital bonus. The vinyl comes with beautiful artwork. After playing the sunday residency at legendary Club der Visionäre in Berlin for the last two years alongside other Meander members, it was just a matter of time until the very talented young Dutch producer joins the roster. Releasing a well received album with timeless house music on his own imprint Quagmire in 2010, he's now back in 2011 with pretty charming new music. These tracks have a deep dynamik, all produced with a remarkable flow and energy. The track Background Be is like a purely rhythmic and emotional journey filled with chords and strings coming from an unexpected place. Suddenly the whole dramaturgy becomes an expedition trip that catches and obliges us to listen with delicate fascination and pure euphoria. The body starts to let loose when the peak arrives. What a pleasure not being able to escape. DeWalta has put his hands on this profound original material and made two reworks of it. His Background Be Private Remix is wandering deep in a dynamik soundroom, with little sounds making a walk full of light. Are there bells? A synthesizer? When the atmosphere changes, like clouds stealing the sun, the strings condensed like lava make the gravity more intense. We are walking in dubs and the feet feel heavier. Timeless Thing. Space Dimension Controller is an intergalactic musical explorer. His sci-fi sounds paint technicolour pictures
in widescreen. Whether crafting definitive albums like Love Beyond The Intersect on R&S, club-ready EPs
for Aus and Running Back or dropping collections of unreleased tracks on his own Tiraquon Recordings, his
work sounds futuristic yet nostalgic for the past. It is fueled by funk and crafted on synths, hardware, tape
machines and various other imperfect tools that lend it a loveable character.
His Final Quest EP is a "French-inspired" release, which is an influence that predates the Space Dimension
Controller alias and goes back to Hamill's teenage years. It is also the last EP from his current studio before
it is dismantled and moved to Amsterdam sometime this summer.
From start to finish, this new EP showcases Hamill's ability to craft emotionally evocative melodies and
genuinely absorbing soundtracks. Opener 'Jet Free' is awash with filtered synths that are sugary sweet and
underpinned by funky guitar riffs and laissez-faire grooves. The wonderful 'Cryfaze' has rueful pads spiralling
around sleek drums that bounce along next to supple neon arps, while 'Tiraquon's Final Quest' is a bubbling
and elastic rhythm run through with soft acid squelches and pixelated pads full of cosmic charm. '1 4 U' rides
on heavier drums but is no less joyous thanks to the crystalline melodies and dreamy vocals that swell the
heart. Vinyl exclusive 'Acid Funk Sequel' is another playful moon safari with buoyant bass patterns and
snappy drum funk under ever-evolving melodic refrains and 'Beyond2' closes down with forlorn, introspective
melodies that ripple over heavy-hearted chords.

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Plastikman, aka Richie Hawtin, has remastered his groundbreaking second album, Musik, from the original tapes for a new limited bio-vinyl edition.
The record was first released in November 1994 through NovaMute and Plus 8, following the debut Plastikman album, Sheet One (1993). A masterclass in minimal techno, Musik quickly propelled Hawtin to new levels of success. The release followed Plastikman's first-ever live performance in a black vinyl-encased room at a semi-derelict Packard Plant in Detroit, where Hawtin was central to the burgeoning underground scene.
Before the full album hit the shelves, the track 'Plastique' (which was later described by Q as "...the flipside to Hawtin's early singles, all ticking percussion, feline acid tweaks, and cushioned sub-bass") set the stage for a more dance floor-friendly album, albeit one with an unsettling and sinister side.
The album, described by The Guardian as "music as you've never heard it before" and by The Wire, who made it one of their Albums of the Year, as "... a masterpiece", defined a moment in techno that still echoes today.
Now, 30 years later, the album has been remastered from the original tapes, reminding us why Plastikman is a name that still resonates and that the album's intensity - on and off the dance floor - has lost none of its potency in the intervening years.

No stranger to fans and followers of ESP Institute, Beats in Space and Music From Memory's sister Label Second Circle, Tornado Wallace's strain of releases so far merged functionality with a musical playfulness that led him to find himself as one of the producer's behind José Padilla's International Feel album. Here, he leaves the needs of the dance floor behind in order to create a magical mystery tour de trance into his and our inner jungle.
How about some references? New Age sounds meet new wave melodies, Grace Jones runs into the Dire Straits at Compass Point, while a Korg Mini Pops and a Roland CR78 make amends for Sly & Robbie's absence, Michael Mann pictures Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness', Robert Rauschenberg tries his luck at naturalism and an imagined Wally Badarou echoes through all of it.
Sandwiched between the title track and the yearning beauty of the album's final point 'Healing Feeling', you get all of that as well as collaborations with and contributions of NO ZU, David Hischfelder and the voice of Sui Zhen on 'Today', who would easily make Anna Domino take her proverbial hat off.
Tornado Wallace created an album that supersedes the requirements and expectations of a debut. Like a lost Island Records or a never released Made to Measure album, 'Lonely Planet' soundtracks notions and ideas that recall the nostalgic future in the past as much as it looks ahead.
