These two inspiring producers provide their modern touch to the contemporary dancefloor continuum:
dBridge offers an up-to-date hybrid that straddles the line between techno and breakbeat, while Baracs extended mix is a deep and hypnotic journey through space. dBridge represents a milestone when it comes to UK dance music. Being part of the legendary drum and bass group Bad Company in the late 90s, running his extensive label Exit Records, and regularly releasing on Boddikas Nonplus, Metalheadz, as well as R&S, he has gained an enviable reputation as a specialist with a modern take on techno and breakbeat variations.
Romanias up-and-coming Barac has released a double record on Rareshs Metereze imprint among others, has recently launched his own platform with Moment, and is inarguably one of the top creative minds emerging from the vivid ourown / sunrise scene.
The selection of these particular producers is the result of Konrad Black simultaneously considering his past while embracing the future. His affinity for dBridge goes back longer than a decade when Konrad was working for Virus Recordings in London, making dBridge an ideal conduit for the Drum and Bass aesthetic that still courses through both artists veins. Barac represents a new wave of artists whose music exists as a crystal ball depicting an ideal future for techno music on the whole. Illumination is a record inspired by several physical phenomenons and relationships, quantum mechanics, space, darkness and light. It is a body of work focusing on complex sound frequency experimentations and illuminating questions around consciousness as well as awareness - triggered by deep emotions about being a human - reacting to sound and music. It works with subtle, clear kaleidoscopic musical textures and silhouettes triggered from an unknown place far out in the universe. Just as Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell has experienced the zen-like experience of seeing earth from space to a state of mind also known as the overview effect, or Savikalpa Samadhi, some eastern philosophies address the same topic from a different angle. Impossible Rendez-Vous is an hypnotic and meandering house excursion by swing maestro Guillaume and his jazzed out Coutu Dumonts. From the funked up and highly danceable heat of A1 to the spaced-out drum ornaments and rider-on-the-stormesque keys of A2, the wriggly run of this record finally flows over into a deep slow burner on the B side - atmospheric elegance. Guillaumes inimitable expertise for intuitive dance patterns made him a well seen suspect on neat labels like Circus Company, Hartchef Discos, Karat, Oslo, Mutek or Vincent Lemieuxs Musique Risquée. Long in the making this EP is the logical continuation of a longtime friendship between Guillaume and the Meander gang. "Everything in good time" was the slogan on this one and Impossible Rendez-Vous seems to bring together elements that would have, otherwise, been pulled apart by gravity and time. This debut on Meander certainly shapes great things to come.

Label co-owner DeWalta returns back to Meander after his latest releases on Vakant and Cynosure - These three personal tracks, were carefully mastered and cut by Stefan Betke aka Pole at Scape Mastering. The first track „Keep On“ comes with characteristic vocals by jazz-singer Judith Ahrends. Just keep on moving! Then the extended Keep On dub mix concentrates on pure grooves and will work its magic on a good soundsystem. „Sauvignon“ on the flipside wanders to higher emotional states, comes with a warm and tricky house rhythm, that makes you swing and shake. Pure atmosphere and presence. Everything was written, played and produced by DeWalta in his studio in Berlin. The Meander label presents us a new signing to their family with a powerful record from Ion Ludwig. 3 songs on vinyl, including a DeWalta rework and another remix as a digital bonus. The vinyl comes with beautiful artwork. After playing the sunday residency at legendary Club der Visionäre in Berlin for the last two years alongside other Meander members, it was just a matter of time until the very talented young Dutch producer joins the roster. Releasing a well received album with timeless house music on his own imprint Quagmire in 2010, he's now back in 2011 with pretty charming new music. These tracks have a deep dynamik, all produced with a remarkable flow and energy. The track Background Be is like a purely rhythmic and emotional journey filled with chords and strings coming from an unexpected place. Suddenly the whole dramaturgy becomes an expedition trip that catches and obliges us to listen with delicate fascination and pure euphoria. The body starts to let loose when the peak arrives. What a pleasure not being able to escape. DeWalta has put his hands on this profound original material and made two reworks of it. His Background Be Private Remix is wandering deep in a dynamik soundroom, with little sounds making a walk full of light. Are there bells? A synthesizer? When the atmosphere changes, like clouds stealing the sun, the strings condensed like lava make the gravity more intense. We are walking in dubs and the feet feel heavier. Timeless Thing. A traverse flute blows in the wind and becomes a voice. It's not whispering. It's a slightly open mouth telling and seducing. " It's this timeless thing everyone talked about".
