Australia's one-man storm of tropical funk Tornado Wallace returns to Beats In Space Records with the acid-flecked two-tracker, Kangaroo Ground & Ferntree Gully. Where Desperate Pleasures, his first EP for Beats In Space, distilled post-punk and electro influences into sun kissed sub-equatorial tones, Lewie Day's new 12 secretes lysergide and sweat from deep within a zero gravity dance bunker. 'Kangaroo Ground' shares the buoyancy of its spirit animal namesake, but grinds in high-gear with a shredded 303 line and monstrous groove more akin to a possessed croc. The record's flip, 'Ferntree Gully' sheds its scaly acid skin for softer sines and sirens signalling Italo productions past and built to last. A score to a surfer's dream wave or a runner's last stretch, Kangaroo Ground / Ferntree Gully ornaments Tornado Wallace's discography with another shining, kaleidoscopic sonic gem. Each 12" from Beats in Space Records features original artwork in considerate and serial form. This 12" threatens all arachnophobes in a half-mile radius care of Will Sweeney's Lite-rite tarantula. Last year Tornado Wallace touched down at the ESP Institute with his Thinking Allowed EP, a slab of wax that proved pivotal in his musical aesthetic, beautifully complimenting our catalogue. He ups the ante further with Circadia, his second 3-track EP that riffs on ESP themes whilst sophisticatedly amplifying their character. The title track lays trance-like arpeggiated vocals over thunderous tropical toms, opening up into an epic group chant. Time of Nectar coasts along, blanketing us with soft pads and soothing pan pipes before Jonny Nash's palm-muted Stratocaster makes its cameo. The essential house jam on the b-side, Soft Light, will no doubt pump its way through dance floors this Summer, don't sleep! More

Tornado Wallace's massive "Thinking Allowed" EP gets a nice re-rub! Side A brings mysterious bella, Nina Amnesia, on board for a crispy 909 workout of "Bit 1" — a nice float on the breeze, ready for Summer! On side B, Pharaohs do what they do best, adding warmth and live instrumentation to the title track while losing the original vocal altogether — a welcome transformation. Time to get wet! More

In February 2021, Jan Jelinek's seminal album "Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records" turned 20. The anniversary repress, a double LP with two bonus tracks (B-sides from the Tendency EP, 2000), is a little late to the party.

Originally released during the heyday of rave culture in 1992, Kirsty Hawshaw’s ethereal vocals remain the main focal point of this reimagination of the track, keeping all optimistic, hypnotic elements intact while generating a multi-layered anthemic sense of euphoria. La Ritournelle is undoubtedly Sebastien Tellier's biggest song. Since its first release in 2003, it kept growing and circulating throughout the world year after year like a virus. Considered by many as the ultimate love anthem of the 21st century, the song has now infected numerous hearts and lovers, and gained a classic status.

The song is made of 7 epic minutes of a sensual and mesmerizing piano hook, with the late afro-beat maestro Tony Allen on drums, lush romantic strings, Philippe Zdar on the mix, and a heartbreaking lyric at the center of the song that goes: Oh nothing's going to change my love for you / I wanna spend my life with you So we make love on the grass under the moon / No one call tell, damned if I do Forever journey on golden avenues / I drift in your eyes since I love you I got that beat in my veins for only rule / Love is to share, mine is for you Since the release, we have received countless love messages.

It was sampled by The Weeknd for the song on "Kiss Land" (2013) and used in several long feature films. "La Ritournelle": often been copied and covered, but rarely equaled.
For the first time, Record Makers is releasing the song with its most successful remixes on one EP, and a special gift in memory of his genius: Tony Allen's bonus beat, the original drum track, a must have for DJs.
