As always, the return of Ruede Hagelstein is inevitable and with each return he ups the ante tenfold showcasing his ever growing prowess behind the studio door. It seems as if, with each Ruede EP, the amount of elements utilized shrinks while at the same time the sound grows in power and dominance and that could not be better exemplified than here.

Consisting of two originals and a remix from the one and only Martin Buttrich, the EP is a gross display of well thought out, mature dance floor jewels. Opening the short player is Hagelstein's 'Dematerialize feat. Justin Evans' where a sinister yet soothing vocal sets the tone for the entire track, laying the groundwork for a gorgeous bass drum and shimmers of distant percussion carry us into celestial spaces. 'Forward Vision' is up next and follows suit by relying on a brooding minimal groove to drive the shimmers of glistening atmospherics and sparkling sonics optimal for dizzy and delirious club moments.

With this, it seemed obvious to put Ruede up to his next task: an album. It is with great anticipation and excitement that we bring you the first LP for both Ruede and Watergate Records, Apophenia. Apophenia is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data, and for Ruede, this is the perfect interpretation to describe his writing process, in which ideas appear from the empty, chaotic darkness. A random chord progression or percussion arrangement opens the door to the imagination where structures appear and begin to take shape. Unlike most of his previous work, Apophenia is not strictly attached to the dance floor, but created to fit just as seamless while listening at home as it is in the club. For over a year, Ruede collected ideas and visualized his plan. It was important not to mimic his earlier work, but to focus on a certain sound. While staying minimalistic yet extremely organic and melodic he has created a timeless long player. While the LP spans a range of emotions, it is always grounded in Ruede's unparalleled, singular sound. Pair that with some notable features from artists like PillowTalk, Hollis P. Monroe & Overnite, Justin Evans and C.A.R. and you have a plethora of dazzling music. With the build up to the highly anticipated debut album for both Ruede Hagelstein and Watergate Records nearing it's release date, we have put together an advanced release of the original Ruede track 'Soul Dynamic' including some stunning remixes to get you ready. With the original, Ruede does what he does best and administers a big melodic club hit ripe with canorous shimmers and a warm rolling sub bass bolstered by crisp percussion grooves and a vocal persistently muttering 'Soul Dynamic'. This alone should be enough, but we didn't stop there. Up first on remix duties, and without any introduction is the legendary Kenny Larkin. Coming off his massive remix of La Fleur on Watergate last year, he takes the same approach and lays out a long,
tracky version of the original, building tension over the twelve minutes with ghostly rhodes riffs and eerie strings. Possibly the heaviest of the all the remixes is from Fur Coat as they provide us with a dark, strobe light infused adaptation packed with huge bass stabs and spectral tones. Finally, we have another whose name needs no introduction, Douglas Greed. With his version of 'Soul Dynamic' he takes the most playful approach of the three remixes by creating a hypnotic, looping lead laid over earthy percussive lines and a sweltering wash of keys. No matter what you're looking for, one of these will do the trick. It's not so much which one to play, but which one to play first.

Who am I ? That's what Ruede Hagelstein asks himself when he looks at the reflection in the mirror every morning when he gets up. Well 20 catalogue numbers and three "The Cheapers" releases later, our Ruede Hagelstein dares to perform a solo dance on Upon You. In this case- a chair dance. The name "Reise nach Jerusalem" stands for the game moving chairs that Ruede still remembers from his east German child hood.The principles of the track will be recognized by those who know the game. To all others the A1 side will appear to be a mean techno pusher. "Aron Habrit" also surprises the inclined listener with unexpected curves of tension but still remains on the house ground of reality and digs like "Levithan" towards the thick underbrush of pre-christian mythology that Ruede seemed to in any way have heard of in one of those Brandenburg Kibbuzes. It's a turbulent time for underground dance music. While many DJs and labels obsess over repeating an old skool house sound, Souvenir #9 replies with a provocative glimpse of the future. Ruede Hagelstein has been making a name for himself as Berliner to watch out for since his first EP in 2004. Since then he's been attracting praise from DJs like Claude Von Stroke and Laurent Garnier and catching the ears of Souvenir bosses Ali and Basti from Tiefschwarz with records like his acclaimed Ghostdriver EP in 2007. 'The Modest Theme' is slice of epic and chilling tech house. Its opening track, builds shimmering string instruments around a sonic jungle of machine noise. From this soup of futuristic rhythms a colossal horn hook beams out from the track like a lighthouse in the distance on a black as hell, gale whipped night. House or techno rarely comes as dramatic as this and its accompanying tracks add fuel to these insistent, urgent themes. Ruede's remix of Dillon's 'C Unseen Sea' gathers ghostly surging wind noises and the eerie effects-soaked sounds of a child together with foreboding percussion. Perfect for orchestrating that point in a night when the music locks a crowd into a tense, dramatic groove, it's carried along at the midway of the track by an off kilter synth that bounces in and out of key taking the sanity of any discerning dancefloor with it. The final track 'It's On' picks up the pace of the EP for a bustling finale. A 303 style bassline opens and filters closed throughout the track raising the tension and releasing the pressure while unsettling synths and reverb soaked percussion continue the mysterious, surreal vibe of the EP. The future it seems has never looked so Ruede.

Following up to our heavyweight, twenty track strong digital compilation album "Diary 5" and starting our vinyl year 2k16 is "A Selection Of Diary 5" - a carefully picked selection featuring four highlights taken from the digital release to cater the needs of all vinyl loving DJ's collectors out there. The journey begins with "Data Loss", the most horrific thing in the digital age but Pascal Hetzel's tune of the same name is nothing horrific at all. Sweet analogue chords and a nice, slightly Acid-infused Chicago-vibe turn this one into a must for all dancefloors dedicated to deeper grooves. Representing Italy on this four track piece is Acirne. Her track "Morla" is nothing short of a massive roller dedicated to all DJ's and clubbers who're in for a more functional attitude throughout the darkest hours of a proper night out when all they need is provided by melancholia-induced strings and a sparkling synth sequence.
Mass Digital are on "Rotation" with their contribution to this 12" vinyl and will be loved by punters and DJ's alike for their highly functional approach, lush bass work and loose tribal vibes as well as their huge, off-kilter synth sweeps and spiralling sirens. This one's for the small hours.
The final cut "Knowledge Is Free" is quite a statement of a track crafted by the production team Haiku575 & Luca Saporito which will brighten the hearts of all digital natives whilst played out during sexy late night sessions in underground venues all around the globe. A message that unites people, like music does.

One hundred. Three digits. Finally we've made it and we're proud to announce that we've reached a milestone that every label aims for: the one hundredth release in a continous sequence of catalogue numbers. And what a journey it has been over the course of the past eight years.
To celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event no-one less than Marco Resmann himself comes up with a dedicated 12" single that's not only named "100" but also comes as a special gold vinyl edition plus gold label prints and seethrough packaging that makes this record stick out amongst many in each and every vinyl lovers collection as well as in every DJ case.
The original version of "100" is a big room monster of a TechHouse tune, providing maximum tension through scattered shakers, carefully arranged synth sweeps and long, strident build ups introducing dark, psyched out and proggy bass and midrange warps leading towards an ultimate climax whenever this tune is hammered through a club rig.
On the flipside we see the 'Jubiläums Mix' of "100" following intense spiralling basslines all through the course of the night whilst layers and layers of ecstatic stabs and a continuous swell of uplifting, positive synths introduces crowds to high-octane levels of buzzing dancefloor energy. It's time for an overdue reunion as a long time friend makes a return to the Upon.You family with a new vinyl exclusive single these days. And of course we're talking about the Belgium-born Sammy Goossens, better known as Sierra Sam to all lovers of quality TechHouse beyond, who is about to release his "Remember Me" 12" on our vinyl only offshoot UYX Series in fall 2k15.
The original version of "Remember Me" causes us to gravitate straight towards the center of the club, sporting percussion layers as hot as a tropical night out and well-morphed sample wizzardry with a classic, dry windy city touch. Later on we're carried away by positive, uplifting stab sequencing and an energy overload that sends punters to ecstatic heavens for a reason.
The next variation on "Remember Me" is the 'Pascal Hetzel & Sierra Sam`s System 100 Mix' - a way darker affair on the technoid side of things. Psyched out, Acid-induced synth lines meet a threatening, slightly distorted drum foundation, frizzling high-hats on overdrive and devil'ish, psychotic vocal processing from hell. 100% underground bunker music for those who know.
Finally we see Upon.You-founder Marco Resmann on remix duties for "Remember Me", catering a fascinating, highly energetic, yet dry and tool'ish cut on the original track for maximum dancefloor frenzy. Watch out for siren synths on fleek!

Welcome back Mr. Quenum! It's been roughly two years now since the Geneve-based artist, DJ and producer released made his Upon.You debut with his single "Rhyme" in summer 2013 and we're extremely thrilled to see his forthcoming three track 12" "Trouble" causing serious dancefloor trouble again this fall.
Getting started with "Colour Pulp" there's no doubt that Quenum is in for some serious action here, fusing an uncomprising, yet minimalistic, hard pumping TechHouse foundation, well-tripping vocal bits and a highly percussive killer build-up sequence this tune is crafted for late nothing but late night abuse.
The title track "Trouble" also relies on Quenum's rolling trademark minimalism and obscured, morphing ethereal voices but adds a little bit of tribal seasoning here and there that perfectly floats alongside quirky synths and a steamy, fever'ish feel that keeps bodies pumping and palpitating through the night until the morning comes. Functional as functionality can get.
Finally "Geneve Never Sleeps" speeds up things on a darker, more technoid level where a dark'ish intro built from muffled bassdrums meets scattered, futuristic percussions before shrieking stabs and scarce, ghostly sounds take over and the unstoppable Techno engine starts to run. Proper machine music that is nothing but pure energy!

With the new "Leo Dance EP" released on our rough'n'raw underground whitelabel sidekick UYX Series an old friend returns - the man his friends and parents know as Farid Boudinar whilst all lovers of quality electronic music between House and Techno are more familiar with his F.E.X. moniker. On the circuit for about 15 years now and backed by numerous releases on labels like Dessous Recordings, Brique Rouge, Systematic and many more our French fellow, who was also responsible for the very first UYX Series release back in 2013, unveils the more technoid side of his work, pleasing punters and DJ's alike with a purist attitude and delightful functionality.
Opening with "Leo Dance" we see hard hitting snare rolls, fast-paced drums and brooding, big room basslines going hand in hand with deep, yet uplifting synth works ready for lift off whilst slo-mo alien noises add a bit of a mystical, haunted athmosphere. Spine tingling peaktime pressure!
On the flipside "Overdeus" provides a more dry and stripped-down feel when minimalistic TechHouse meets a decent, ever busy and evolving main motif that's building up in waves providing constant change and excitement through a beautiful sequential arrangement of climax after climax after climax.
Finally "Puretec" enters darker, sci-fi influenced realms, keeping Techno floors in motion with a stone cold attitude, undulating strings and a perfectly crafted, uberly functional synth sequence that pays homage to the masters of Detroit Techno - a perfect tune for concrete underground basement venues immersed in fog and strobelights.

Welcome back, Okain! After his digital label debut "Some Of My Tools" and his praised collaboration with ONNO resulting in their conjunctional "Triple O" EP Samuel Thalmann a.k.a. Okain is about to unleash four brand new tunes on his forthcoming Upon.You-single "Coma".
With the title track "Coma" our French friend masterly crafts an enthrallingly bouncy mother of a tune walking the fine line between House and TechHouse, serving swirling Hi-NRG synth modulations and super ecstatic vocal bits for those who like to get into the groove. This track is prime time heaven for all clubbers out there.
Following up is "Karma", a tune again well-balanced between the House and TechHouse side of things but clearly focusing on the deeper end of the spectrum. Spatial effects and mellow, slightly dubbed out chords meet muscular drums, dreamy, balearic sample work as well as scenic string arrangements all serving perfectly for latenight sets and epic transitions between night and dawn.
Opening the "Silver Door" Okain's sonic journey leads him straight into the jackin' zone. A Chitown-reminiscing phonk, stripped down production and an almighty Acid-line are the weapons of choice to hype the crowd right before floating synths really mark the point when things are about to get intense. Timeless as timeless can get and a future classic for sure.
Finally with "Untitled Three" things are getting a little techy for a reason. Banging drums, razorblade hi-hats and woodwork percussions are setting the pace for the ultimate seduction brought to you by Yello'esque male vocal bits, more Chicago referring basslines and on point chords reverberating and bouncing off each other into spiralling eternity.

Written and produced in collaboration with Oliver Deutschmann Magit Cacoon's album debut "Other Dimension" covers the whole spectrum of vibrant contemporary club music that, although closely bond to the framework of House, TechHouse, chromatic (Neo)Trance and related 4/4-based derivates, thinks way beyond pure dancefloor functionality. This universal approach and vision does not only show in the detailed and carefully crafted sound sculptures built within an electronic studio environment but shines even more in the use of Magit Cacoon's most natural and intimate instrument - her own voice. Talking things techy the "Ghetto Xberg" even fuses huge string arrangements and bleepy Acid lines to a great effect whilst the subaquatic Bass excursion named "Oddity Sound" brings in Drexciyan qualities and vibes. More heavily trippin' bass pressure is found in "Light" that's - despite its title - surprisingly flirting with darker, more threatening powers whilst working sweat-soaked crowds to the max and so is the powerful and well buzzing "Summertime Space" which is as primetime bond as its predecessor. LOYOTO - three syllables fused to a name that sounds strangely familiar but yet is a project on the rise and making its full on debut on Upon.You Records these days although the formative and creative duo behind this name is longtime established amongst connaisseurs of electronic music, both for individual solo works as well as for praised cooperations and conjunctional efforts with other artists.
So who is LOYOTO? It's the brainchild of both Berlin-based artists DJ Cle, ambassador of finest House Music since the late 80s, part of the legendary Märtini Brös. and backed by a string of solo releases and remixes on labels like Poker Flat Recordings or Local Talk, and Eva Be, originally rooted in Dub and Reggae, recording artist for Best Works and Best Seven as well as remixer for Sonar Kollektiv, Pulver Records and many others. Together they bring in their experiences from both sides of the spectrum, exploring dubby electronic spheres - and the miraculous beauty of the universe - in their corporate studio space This shared experience shows in the title track "Looking At The Starz", a deep and organic TechHouse affair touched by floating Dub, featuring most beautiful bass motifs, levitating drones, reverberant chords and dream-inducing space vocals alongside a tender, slightly uplifting melody that makes dancers and groovers grin like a Cheshire cat. On the flip we'll find Upon.You-mastermind Marco Resmann on remix duties, dubbing out the vocals darkly and serving a 180° turn vibewise. Sometimes it takes a little longer until things happen.
Talking the conjunctional studio joint of Martin Landsky and Marco Resmann entitled "Lava", now released under their collaborational project Landsky & Resmann, this single is one that has been overdue for quite a while and for a reason. A reason and shared history that essentially helped to shape and add momentum to Marco Resmann's career at an early stage a good 13 years ago when he wasn't even known under his real name but used the artistic alias Phage DJ- and production-wise. It was back in the early noughties when Marco Resmann sent out a demo to Martin Landsky and his former label Intim Recordings which he admired musically, got through and the tracks that were picked are now known in the history book of electronic music as "Volkspark E.P.", his first ever single release that became the output number 009 on Intim Recordings back in 2002 and, if you will, the foundation on which Marco's production career was built. Now, after all these years in which Martin Landsky became one of the mainstays in the Poker Flat Recordings-family after folding his own imprint whilst Marco Resmann built a huge reputation on the international DJ-circuit and co-founded Upon.You Records, they finally teamed up in the studio for "Lava", a single piece as timeless and essential as it can get. On the A-side we've got "Lava 1" , a quite pumping and deep technoid piece that is fully aware of the seductive grooves only stripped down House music can provide. With carefully crafted build-ups, melancholia-driven strings and moody modulations this one's a true force on the dancefloor, using only very essential elements and razor sharp hi-hats to get a whole nation under a groove. Sexy as hell. Flipping the wax we've got "Lava 2" sporting a dry, wild pitch and Chicago-related feel whilst providing a quite track'ish attitude in the use of ever twisting background noises, a simple but catchy repetetive low frequency motif and on point filter abuse that's in for the thrill before the second synth line is adding additional momentum in reflecting and transposing the main motif to a new frequency level. Finally the so-called "Lava Dub" explores deeper realms of beautiful dancefloor melancholia based upon a super solid foundation of lush bassdrums and rich, dreamy string-arrangements accompanied by dubbed out vocal snippets and classy, vastly-coloured synths shining through every now and then, making "Lava Dub" a perfect late night tune for House music lovers and more intimate dancefloors.

With the second part of our latest label compilation being released in mid-November we're now proud to present "Diary 4.2 A Vinyl Selection" - a new 12" vinyl single again featuring a sweet selection of four essential tracks taken from the vast richness that is to be found on "Diary No. 4 - Compiled By Gunnar Stiller", a perfect sequel and a seductive treat for all wax addicts out there. With these tunes produced by the likes of Ruede Hagelstein, Marco Resmann, Gorge and the Beatamines we're sending special shouts to all vinyl loving DJ's, bringing them the second hand-picked "Diary" selection of high quality electronic dancefloor cuts for heavy primetime workouts and late night abuse. We're opening the dance with "Nonnenrauschen", Ruede Hagelstein's contribution to "Diary No. 4". Uberly precise and built of only a few, very carefully placed elements that create the kind of magical, mystical vibe one longs for in the final hours of a long night out, the small hours in which a fever'ish instincts take over and all one is craving for is a massive bassline embracing each and everyone around. More highly seductive sonic pleasure is coming from the vaults of Marco Resmann's studio space who is fully focusing on the hypnotizing effects of repetitive stabs accompanied by beautifully progressing melodies - a simple and effective formula that makes the summer "Sun" rise over each and every floor when the stunning vocal break provides final relief and slightly balearic elements add a unique, calming yet levitating vibe to this track.
The man they call Gorge has been making some serious waves on the electronic music circuit within the past ten years and his "Diary"-contribution "In Sync" is a sweet example for his remarkable ability to fuse an ever changing synth motif evolution with pure dancefloor pressure whilst garnishing things with Rave-reminiscing vocal bits and the very essence of how Trance-inducing electronic music can be. Play this one in huge, jam-packed spaces and you're about to see a crowd going bonkers within a few bars.
Serving the perfect closing track is theErfurt-based Pascal Eckardt a.k.a. Beatamines who is taking care of a beautiful sonic "Lotus" flower built of frolicking, slightly Jazz-influenced percussion lines and a seductively meandering hook that makes each and every punter smile for a reason. After rockin' floors with his debut EP "Feel That Beat" in April 2014 Pascal Hetzel now returns to our rough'n'raw underground sidekick UYX-Series with his new 12" "Divisions", serving two variations on the main track plus a massive rework by the infamous pairing Tuff City Kids, a well-rounded package that will be a vital contribution to loads and loads of fully loaded club nights throughout the the next months.
Entering technoid realms with the EP's opener "Divisions (Downstairs)" Pascal Hetzel relies on a significant bassdrum punch and a simple but effective arrangement of dubbed out, subaquatic stabs to get crowds moving, adds up some some raw, unprocessed hi-hats, haunting sweeps, well-set filter movements and a great tribute to one of the classic oldskool rave masters - a high-octane tune for crowds already on fire.
The following "Divisions (Upstairs)" keeps energy levels high as well, serving more punchy drums whilst focusing on a softened, more uplifting and positive feel when it comes to synth works and melody, bringing in a perfect p.a.r.t.y.-vibe for all those who love to balance on the thin line between TechHouse and classic stab-heavy House. Flipping the wax we see the Tuff City Kids on remix duties. The collaborational studio force of Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer is bowing down to the intensity of early hardcore days when they're unleashing this jack-hammer of a rework - and it is a beast for sure. A serious amalgamation of a reverb-heavy foundation, oldskool sawtooth signals, dark and slightly filtered signature stabs and twisted breakbeat abuse is sending for horns, fog-machines, high-performance strobelights and huge laser attacks. With "MP Scene" the pair of producers open the set with a steadily pumping, muscular tune built around huge, embracing organic bass pulses, sharp, unprocessed impellent hi-hats, serious, slightly twisted Club Techno stabs and captivating strings from the upper end of the acoustic spectrum announcing the next big thrill lurking behind the next audible twist. Progressing into the next tune "Set Me Back" opens with large, pounding bass drums, clever shaker works and a big heap of ONNO's so called Gangsta Techno influence represented by tense vocal samples most obviously taken straight from the streets of the hood. Combining this roughneck attitude with lively, bubbling synth lines and dubbed out, echoing chords and some oldskool'ish cowbells the roof is surely on fire when "Set Me Back" is hammering on a large P.A. system on a TechHouse floor near you. Finally the "Tiebreaker" brings on a straight forward feel of stripped down TechHouse with a foundation built of gravelly, analogue sounding bass tones and super solid, effervescent, LatinHouse-reminiscing breakbeat loops working things out to maximum effect percussionwise. All ONNO & Okain need to add is a fine icing of sparse, frosty and phantasmal synths which - due to their hypnotizing force - draw revelling punters right to the centre of the dancefloor in search of the ultimate thrill and a killer groove.

Things start on a clean, techy and well-hypnotic level with the sparse, skeletal opening tune "Spider Web" which gives way to an ever evolving, steadily morphing sci-fi synth motif from the very start, continously creeping like lava on top of the tracks backbone built of dry bassdrums and quivering hihats steadily creating an ever growing tension with only a few iridiscent breaks providing ecstatic relief for heaving crowds on the floor. With "Time Factor" Mr. Resmann even manages to increase dancefloor pressure by speeding up things and introducing a raw, bass heavy House feel that's reminiscent of the pounding, hollow club sound experience every punter knows - a tickling, thrilling, spine-tingling heartbeat, a steady boom boom boom percolating through every venues walls and doors, announcing a great night out that's only a few steps away. Combining this adrenaline rushing vibe with a dense, athmospheric feel and ever swelling, spiralling synth pieces contrasted by innocent, frolicking melodies is what makes "Time Factor" a perfect late night jam for very special nightlife moments words cannot properly describe. Call it a future classic for those who know. Finally the title track "Five Twenty Seven" kicks off with a rolling, slightly dark'ish and NYC-reminiscent drum structure for main rooms and goes down a deeper road with vibrant, ever active tones bouncing on and off each other resulting in abstract melodic patterns nicely complementing thrilling, melancholia driven chords and a deep, emotional bassline in a constant state of flux telling a beloved story that every creature of the night can surely relate to - a fairy tale of enchanted spots, legendary nights, life altering sets and a trip to the very core of the inner self, driven by instincts and the subliminal magic of tribal drums causing a ritual state of trance ever since the forefathers started to dance.

With the second serving in our underground sidekick UYX-series we're sending a warm welcome to a fresh young talent and the latest member of the Upon.You-family - Mr. Pascal Hetzel. Pascal already proved his production skills with his widely acknowledged remix for "My Space feat Hollis P Monroe & Overnite" by KiNK & Sierra Sam in 2013 and now fully debuts with his three track EP "Feel That Beat" which is his first solo release ever and a forecast of what's to expect from the young and aspiring producer / DJ regularly appearing at the decks of Berlin's famous Panorama Bar. The title track "Feel That Beat" introduces Pascal Hetzel's love for all things jacking, focusing on raw, pretty unprocessed percussion elements, loads of highly effective filter action for all lovers of the wildpitch era and wildly exhausted male vocals embracing the vibe of a top notch night out in a scattered, fragmented manner. "The Brute" lives up to its very name with heavily pumping drum patterns and hi-hats as sharp as a knife causing an electric buzz on the dancefloor whilst seductively processed vocals and a simple but highly effective bass figure do some serious damage on the floor before distorted filters, LFO and high energy synth stabs provide the ultimate climax for a crowded dancefloor. The painter is called Ruede Hagelstein and his work of art is simply called "Minus". A track with the charm of a winter-landscape, fully accomplished, crystal clear and warming like an analogue heater. Wearing almost nothing and casted into a snow- white plate it will be a pleasure for all vinyl collectors.
