Buttrich is known for his deft hand with spacious, warm tracks that crackle and snap. His propulsive techno and house music re filled with compressed living sounds. On tracks like "Fireball" and "Magic Market", crisp percussion shimmers around snug-fitting basslines, with snares and toms moving the speaker cones insistently. "Fireball" will quietly smash the dancefloor, with rhythms so taut you could bounce nickels off them. The heavy kick of "Rocket" anchors it to agitated drums slowly enveloped by a melodic soup, inflected with disrupted noises as it sweeps over the listener. Master of after-dark electronic symphonies, Martin Buttrich is set to drop a pair of heavyweight tracks on Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts imprint this winter. A-side 'Earth Of Foxes' is a moody masterpiece with a complex tapestry of wonky chimes, ethereal voices and a galloping groove. B-side 'Monkey Troopers' is another techy monster with brooding bassline and classic Buttrich drums. With that innate quality of Buttrich's productions the 'Earth Of Foxes EP' is both hypnotic and loopy whilst encased within intricate textures and rhythms. Martin Buttrich is co-founder of Desolat (alongside Loco Dice) and a veteran producer with original releases on labels such as Planet E, Cocoon and Poker Flat, the superb LP 'Crash Test' on Desolat (2010) - also lending his distinctive sound to over 100 co-productions and remixes that have included Madonna, Muse, Fatboy Slim. Josh Wink and Green Velvet, Bootsy Collins, Tom Jones, Kelis, Moloko and Depeche Mode. 2013 saw Martin play some amazing showcases, including the closing party of Loco Dice's new Ibiza residency Used and Abused at Ushuaia. He also played back 2 back with Guy Gerber on two occasions at his new ibiza residency Wisdom of the Glove at Pacha Ibiza and has just returned after playing Wisdom of the Glove's sold out ADE showcase at Scheepsbouwloods. Better Lost That Stupid hosted again a hugely successful party at DC10 this summer. Better Lost Than Stupid being the musical collective of Davide Squillace, Matthias Tanzman and Martin. his year Martin stepped up his output of original material, starting in September with his release on Minus alongside Better Lost Than Stupid teammate Davide Squillace. He then moved onto the release of Session 1 on Desolat where he teamed up with Mousse T. 2014 see's more original material dropping with a release planned for February on Planet E.

Buttrich has spent recent years developing a sound that appeals to both sides of the brain: having dropped records on labels such as Planet E, Four:Twenty, Cocoon, Poker Flat and Desolat that encompass the entire spectrum between dreaminess, intuition, warmth, melancholy, and highly calibrated dancefloor precision. Emotive tangents hover, punctuated with found sounds and textures recorded in public spaces.
This album is intended as an expression of a certain time and space: a collection of tracks that could only have been woven together at this turbulent point in history. The album contains more acoustic and analog instruments than Martin Buttrich usually uses, and attempts to bridge a gap between imagined and audible worlds. Buttrich's second EP for Cocoon couldn't prove better his prediction that in 2008, Minimal Techno will be containing more warm and melodic components. Strangely familiar but always surprising, "Again" and "I Lost My Wallet" provide us with bassprone reduction somewhere in between Techno and House, and harmony bits that remind of Caribbean Calypso sounds provide the feeling of the approaching summer – which makes both tracks perfect for the final of the open air season 2008.

projects and remixes, and has proven his sense for the
right sound in many productions for artists like Timo Maas
and Loco Dice. Despite that, he only has released seven
records under his own name, however that doesn't mean
this releases haven't caught the attention of the public. The
first to name are his productions for Planet E and Poker
Flat Recordings. Buttrich's most remarkable talent is that
he is able to find a special sound for the artist he's coproducing
and even for the different labels, which is always
matching perfectly to the artist or label. The same is true
for his debut on Cocoon Recordings. Whereas the focus
on the Planet E records was on a playful modulating
bassline that was playing with effects and breaks, "Hunter"
is more based on the beat. Combined with hypnotic driving
vocal snippets and warm synthie sounds, Buttrich has
created two great DJ tools, that have enormous power on
the dancefloor and perfectly carry on the series of
marvellous releases on Cocoon Recordings: Eulberg,

The Hannover (Germany) based producer is the ingenious mastermind behind the Time Tools studio and co-producer for high profile artists like Timo Maas or Loco Dice. Although he‘s been working as a producer for more than ten years, he only recently started to release under his real name and dropped 12“es on Four.Twenty (2004) and on Carl Craig‘s Planet-E („Full Clip“, 2006) and delivered a remix for O‘Brien-Docker („Totally Alright“), before he joined Poker Flat for an exclusive Track („Snapshots“) on the upcoming Poker Flat Volume 5 album. Now we are proud to present „Cloudy Bay“ his debut EP for Poker Flat. Once more the new 3-tracker proves his enormous skills.„Cloudy Bay“ is a catchy and simply beautiful track with exciting strings and a wicked break which bring up the right dose of ecstasy on the floor. Massive tune! The B-side holds two more high-spirited tracks with „What‘s Your Name“ being a bit more relaxed and deep, while „Lazy Bastard“ edges upwards again to a good pace with a great arrangement and a 100% positive vibe. Fantastic release by a great producer!

Loco Dice has unveiled his darkly eclectic album 'Love Letters', a 15-track embodiment of his diverse production range. Featuring the latest single 'We're Alive', the most highly anticipated record of his recent sets.
Dice's third studio album after '7 Dunham Place' and 'Underground Sound Suicide' sees him reflecting on his musical influences and connections to Dusseldorf and beyond. The album is packed with the producer's typically forceful tones, which blur the lines between house and techno. Utillising the bristling sounds and smooth drum beats, Dice's "Love Letters" album serves as an aural embodiment of the tones which make his sound so unique.
Throughout 'Love Letters', Dice uses his own vocals more frequently than on previous albums, which makes the production both trippier and more personal, representing past and present.
Addressing his listeners via special sleeve inside the 3x12" vinyl album edition, Dice writes:
"It's been a while since I've released anything in the form of an album. This time everything happened differently than my previous albums where I had the story or the concept first and where the music was my soundtrack to that story. This time the music came first - making and collecting music, having a good time in the studio without any pressure. It was not clear at all what to do with all this. To release it or not, if I have club 12" singles, or if I should just keep everything… but it felt good.
I looked around me and started to let only positive vibes into my surroundings and after I finished producing the 1st single "Roots", everything came together. The missing link was there. It was clear to me that this is an album that belongs on my label, Desolat. The music on "Love Letters" is filled with the positive energy and love that I have received around the world. Every piece on this album is like a mini letter. A Love Letter."
With a trio of collaborations on the album, Dice drafts in Serious Klein on "Selflove", Willam Djoko on "Out Of Reach" and Eddie Fowlkes on "D Town Playaz". As someone who is deeply influenced by genres like soul & funk, Dice invited German-based artist Serious Klein - who's work he has been following for the past while, to his Daddyscrib studio and a perfect blend was formed that was not only basted on their mutual African roots. When "Out Of Reach" began to take shape, it was clear for Dice that only the Amsterdam's finest - William Djoko, could provide the final shape he envisaged on the release. The third feature on the LP comes from Detroit godfather Eddie Fowlkes on the appropriately named "D Town Playaz", which features both of the artists' vocals and serves as a teaser for the things to come.
Continuing to headline the biggest clubs and festivals around the world, Loco Dice has directed his endless passion and musical sensibilities to bare upon his Desolat label, with a stream of records released from some of the most exciting artists around and supported by DJs across the globe.

Last of all "Inception" takes on more of a house feel, with well swung, low slung drums bringing the groove as hammering hits and frosty synth lines keep busy up top.
This is house and techno that makes a big impact from one of the most on point producers out there right now.

The classic Livio & Roby nuances will prevail, of course, but there will be no clear evidence about the “phantom” collaborator behind each track, apart from the music itself. By keeping the mystery on the identity of each co-producer, the duo is challenging their listeners to bypass the involuntary pre-conception and focus on the essential: listen and feel.

Moby needs little introduction: the American dance producer and live performer's albums are classics of the genre that are celebrated far and wide. They have been used on thousands of adverts, have given rise to hit singles all over the world and have made him one of the most celebrated electronic music stars of our time. His 'Go' track was what started it all for him back in the 90's, and was a bona fide club classic of the day. It still resonates today and always gets crowds going. Now it has been remixed twice by Loco Dice, who has added his own stamp to it in distinctive fashion.
His first excellent version is eight minutes of chunky and tribal drums, with rubber kicks, clipped horn stabs and big hits all building the pressure. Those most famous vocal cries really finish it off in style, and ensure that dance floors will go wild whenever it is dropped, as do wonky synths and big piano chords at the breakdown.
The second version is more emotive, with big sweeping strings smeared in the background to help make it all the more dramatic, teary eyed and impactful on the floor. This one is for the peak time in any set and is sure to make the most memorable moment of any night.
Both remixes here pack a real punch, and whilst remaining true to the original, they both sound just like you would expect from modern dance heavyweight Loco Dice.

Now Desolat boss Loco Dice is releasing an exclusive boxset of the album on vinyl, including a host of new remixes and limited edition items.
The reason this project is happening is because Desolat is a label that still prizes the physical format and inherent value of vinyl. As such, the whole thing, entitled the Underground Sound Suicide Box, is to be pressed to vinyl for a full physical release that will allow the exquisite sound design and rich detail to really shine.
The fine original cuts are being pressed across four 12" records, and on top of that, four separate remix EPs will also be included featuring classy reworks of the material by established names from the worlds of house and techno including Nightmares On Wax, Henrik Schwarz, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Kerri Chandler, Martin Buttrich, Robert Hood and Timo Maas among others.
On top of this, there is a custom made diamond shape metal USB stick containing all the material and bonus tracks along with four music videos to 'Get comfy', 'Keep it Low', 'Party Angels' and 'Sending This One Out'. The trio is also famed for its live show, which is performed using specially made consoles and has seen them headline all over Europe from Timewarp to Watergate to Rex in Paris. With releases on labels like 2020Vision and Vakant, this really is a fantastic outfit that once again comes up trumps here.
Opener "Altitude" is seven minutes or irresistible electronic funk. Jostling drums and odd synth sounds dance next to each other and you will too. Machines get loose and spit out soulful sounds and odd hooks and the whole thing keeps you locked for the duration. "Bucur" is a more peak time techno cut with forceful kicks driving it along, occult little alien sounds and snatched vocal parts that are fluid and free flowing and will really get under the skin of any dancefloor in expert fashion.
"Neo" then finds the Romanians going for a more minimal aesthetic with slick rubbery drums making a punchy pattern down below as heavenly female vocals up top add a key human element. Some spiritual melodies also explode above the groove and ensure that minds will be well and truly blown when this one is dropped. Lastly, the excellent "Permut" is a dubby roller with a fat and heavy bottom end that is impossible to ignore. It has some classic techno synths lighting it up and is the sort of hypnotic affair that will really stand out in the coming months.
With this essential new EP Premiesku continue to go from strength to strength.

Ibiza based Francisco Allendes makes a welcome return to Desolat for his next release, a fine EP that marks something of a new direction for the man across its four great tracks. First up, 2Agility Queen" is a raw bit of jacking house with clipped vocals offered up by Dance Mania's DJ DMC, bulky drums and classic cow bell tinkles all making for a sweaty and heavy house kicker . The rapped vocals that come in add plenty of flair to an already firing track. The brilliant "Groundhog Day" is an off kilter, rave influenced tune with wordless voices, militant snare patterns and blasts of frazzled bass frequencies that cannot fail to energise any floor. On the flip, "Flea Allergy" is another anxious cut of coarse hi hats, robotic and wordless vocals and slamming dreams that works you into a frenzy, then "Aroa Leon" gets even more unhinged, lumpy and ghetto fried with its sleazy drums, jittery perc and kinetic sense of energy.
This lively, arresting new EP is a fine new direction and sound for Francisco Allendes that never stays too far from the chunky Desolat blueprint we all know and love.

First up, 2Agility Queen" is a raw bit of jacking house with clipped vocals offered up by Dance Mania's DJ DMC, bulky drums and classic cow bell tinkles all making for a sweaty and heavy house kicker . The rapped vocals that come in add plenty of flair to an already firing track. The brilliant "Groundhog Day" is an off kilter, rave influenced tune with wordless voices, militant snare patterns and blasts of frazzled bass frequencies that cannot fail to energise any floor. On the flip, "Flea Allergy" is another anxious cut of coarse hi hats, robotic and wordless vocals and slamming dreams that works you into a frenzy, then "Aroa Leon" gets even more unhinged, lumpy and ghetto fried with its sleazy drums, jittery perc and kinetic sense of energy.
This lively, arresting new EP is a fine new direction and sound for Francisco Allendes that never stays too far from the chunky Desolat blueprint we all know and love.
