Loco Dice has unveiled his darkly eclectic album 'Love Letters', a 15-track embodiment of his diverse production range. Featuring the latest single 'We're Alive', the most highly anticipated record of his recent sets.
Dice's third studio album after '7 Dunham Place' and 'Underground Sound Suicide' sees him reflecting on his musical influences and connections to Dusseldorf and beyond. The album is packed with the producer's typically forceful tones, which blur the lines between house and techno. Utillising the bristling sounds and smooth drum beats, Dice's "Love Letters" album serves as an aural embodiment of the tones which make his sound so unique.
Throughout 'Love Letters', Dice uses his own vocals more frequently than on previous albums, which makes the production both trippier and more personal, representing past and present.
Addressing his listeners via special sleeve inside the 3x12" vinyl album edition, Dice writes:
"It's been a while since I've released anything in the form of an album. This time everything happened differently than my previous albums where I had the story or the concept first and where the music was my soundtrack to that story. This time the music came first - making and collecting music, having a good time in the studio without any pressure. It was not clear at all what to do with all this. To release it or not, if I have club 12" singles, or if I should just keep everything… but it felt good.
I looked around me and started to let only positive vibes into my surroundings and after I finished producing the 1st single "Roots", everything came together. The missing link was there. It was clear to me that this is an album that belongs on my label, Desolat. The music on "Love Letters" is filled with the positive energy and love that I have received around the world. Every piece on this album is like a mini letter. A Love Letter."
With a trio of collaborations on the album, Dice drafts in Serious Klein on "Selflove", Willam Djoko on "Out Of Reach" and Eddie Fowlkes on "D Town Playaz". As someone who is deeply influenced by genres like soul & funk, Dice invited German-based artist Serious Klein - who's work he has been following for the past while, to his Daddyscrib studio and a perfect blend was formed that was not only basted on their mutual African roots. When "Out Of Reach" began to take shape, it was clear for Dice that only the Amsterdam's finest - William Djoko, could provide the final shape he envisaged on the release. The third feature on the LP comes from Detroit godfather Eddie Fowlkes on the appropriately named "D Town Playaz", which features both of the artists' vocals and serves as a teaser for the things to come.
Continuing to headline the biggest clubs and festivals around the world, Loco Dice has directed his endless passion and musical sensibilities to bare upon his Desolat label, with a stream of records released from some of the most exciting artists around and supported by DJs across the globe.

Du¨sseldorf’s Loco Dice has long been one of the most respected figures in contemporary electronic music with releases over the years on leading labels like Cocoon, Cadenza, Ovum and of course his own Desolat as well as a heavy touring schedule taking him across the globe year in year out. Here though we see Dice offering up his new single courtesy of Cuttin’ Headz, a platform the Martinez Brothers and associates to deliver high octane, dance floor focused House and Techno. The original mix of title track ‘$lammer’ leads with spiralling brass like bass tones, flute licks, shuffled shakers and resonant synth hooks running alongside a bumpy bass line and an amalgamation of heady, processed vocal lines. Following is Detroit’s DJ T-1000 stepping up on remix duties, stripping back the aesthetic of the original to lay focus on robust rhythms and various vocal refrains from the original whilst chugging bass and tension building atmospherics gradually unfold throughout.

'Underground Sound Sucide' is the most recent album from Loco Dice, it followed up 2008's landmark '7 Dunham Place' and proved once again that the Du?ssledorf based artist is in a class of one.
The Ultra Music released LP featured collaborations with artists like Just Blaze, Neneh Cherry, Miss Kittin, Chris Liebing and Giggs amongst others and showcased Dice's versatility with influences from techno to hip hop and beyond. Underpinning it all the album retained Loco Dice's chunky, bass driven feel and has made its way into many top DJ sets ever since release on October 30th last year.
Now Desolat boss Loco Dice is releasing an exclusive boxset of the album on vinyl, including a host of new remixes and limited edition items.
The reason this project is happening is because Desolat is a label that still prizes the physical format and inherent value of vinyl. As such, the whole thing, entitled the Underground Sound Suicide Box, is to be pressed to vinyl for a full physical release that will allow the exquisite sound design and rich detail to really shine.
The fine original cuts are being pressed across four 12" records, and on top of that, four separate remix EPs will also be included featuring classy reworks of the material by established names from the worlds of house and techno including Nightmares On Wax, Henrik Schwarz, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Kerri Chandler, Martin Buttrich, Robert Hood and Timo Maas among others.
On top of this, there is a custom made diamond shape metal USB stick containing all the material and bonus tracks along with four music videos to 'Get comfy', 'Keep it Low', 'Party Angels' and 'Sending This One Out'. The set also ships with a custom designed slipmat. All in all this exclusive material is packed in a handmade box and is available only as the DESOLAT USS BOX.
This collection is a must own piece for wax lovers and fans of Loco Dice, but also for fans of contemporary, club owning house and techno.

The EP kicks off with "Auxotox" which offers a chugging rhythm; bouncy bass-line alongside a maniacal sample that is gives a haunting early-hours feel. A staccato pulsating synth burst then elevates the track up through the energy levels. This tune has peak-time stamped all over it and will no doubt find its way into the record boxers of many an artist looking for that tool to send the party in the stratosphere. "Detox" starts where "Auxotox" leaves off. An aggressive in-your-face bass drum providing the foundation for a sharp vocal sample that continues to galvanise throughout the track. The layers to the track build effortlessly before a bongo inspired loop serves to pick up the pace before a jumpy percussion adds an extra dimension. Not much respite in this track barring the well placed breakdown that harks back to Dice's Hip-Hop past. A great addition that is the genesis of fantastic brass section that is sure to raise the roof. "Neurotox" is unquestionably the more techno affair. A warbling synth gets to work immediately, and is underpinned by a punchy big room bass line. An entrancing opening gives way to a shimmering synth and extra-terrestrial top line. Following on from the recent return of Mathew Jonson to Minus, ‘Knibbie Never Comes Alone’ sees old associate Loco Dice release on the label for the first time since 2006. In the meantime, the Tunisian-born, Dusseldorf-based producer has found a home for his often dubby, sometime tribalistic records on imprints like Cadenza, Cocoon and Ovum as well, of course, as his own esteemed outpost, Desolat. Having found time to get back in the studio with long-time studio collaborator Martin Buttrich despite continuing to curate dancefloor soundtracks around the world each and every weekend, Dice explores an abstract and cerebral techno template with his latest offerings. The opening 90 seconds of the A is all sparse atmosphere, static crackles and weird effects with just a sole note played over and over. The pulsing of a deep sine wave hints at what to come, and when that’s expanded on with a kick drum and bobbling bassline the whole thing begins to come alive. More life is breathed into the bleak landscape with the sounds of various robot activities, and the mystery of the bell-like melody which hangs in the air is never really explained before the last third of the track when the momentum really builds and claps and hats help drive the whole thing forward. The eventual groove which reveals itself in the A side is extrapolated with the B: ‘Loose Hooks’ is a deeply burrowing affair with an extra heavy kick hitting ever four bars to give things an air of extra insistency. Above that, various dynamic samples shoot about like fire-flies in a night sky and all the while the train track rhythm builds up more and more steam until eventually it dissipates to only the sounds of an over worked circuit board. Maintaining his sense of bold and chunky rhythm, then, but finishing things with classic motifs of Minus in mind, Dice has made for an assured homecoming.

Following the success of his enigmatic singles "Seeing Through Shadows" for Richie Hawtin's Minus label and “Flight LB 7475” for Ovum, Düsseldorf's Loco Dice returns with a monster four-track, co-produced with Hannover's Martin Buttrich, the man behind one of this fall's biggest hits—"Full Clip," released on Carl Craig's Planet E. The four cuts on this doublepack EP are monsters all, between eight and 13 minutes apiece. Coming hot on the heels of similarly sprawling releases from Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano & Thomas Melchior, they confirm Cadenza's commitment to stretching electronic dance music's form to fit a more expansive frame. These are anthems, but they're anthems of a different sort. While too many hits beat their riffs like dead horses and treat their listeners little better, Loco Dice turns their attentions to gauzier, wispier elements: ghost melodies, feathery percussion, iridescent timbres that flash once and are gone. These are tracks for clubbers who like their bumping subtle; they're cuts for headphone listeners who want to follow a corkscrewed groove until the g-force tugs their lips into a private smile. The four tracks sound simple at first—easygoing house rhythms, skeletal melodies, agreeable sounds and textures—but the more you listen, the deeper they get, multiplying their inner dimensions exponentially. "Raindrops On My Window," opening with clopping hooves and twittering birdcalls, feels like a journey through the forest back to civilization: a male voice mutters monosyllables, a female singer wails a near-Eastern lament, and the track's taut machine rhythms box in an unruly bassline that cuts corners with every bar, refusing to slot itself in 4s. The whole thing is dead simple, unabashedly dark, and delectably funky. "Paradiso" is one of the gentlest tracks you'll hear this year, braiding keening keyboard lines and unfolding like a flower caught by time-lapse photography. Romantic melodies meet Afro-Latin polyrhythms; Steve Reich learns to jack. No tearjerker has ever waved its handkerchief so seductively. (The track also something of a historical curiosity: with its chiming arpeggios and endless rotations, "Paradiso" provides the missing link between the music box and the

On the flip side "Hypnotised" works on getting into your brain with tight, scurrying drum and percussive patterns that never let up. It's a dense, busy arrangement that makes for a high octane ride. Last of all "Inception" takes on more of a house feel, with well swung, low slung drums bringing the groove as hammering hits and frosty synth lines keep busy up top.

The audience is invited to listen to 11 original tracks, each of them co-produced with an anonymous collaborator from their “circle” of friends. And there certainly are some impressive names involved: tINI,EnzoSiragusa,MartinButtrich,Guti,JulianPerez,Hector,RyanCrosson,CesarMerveille,Andrea Oliva & Premiesku. The classic Livio & Roby nuances will prevail, of course, but there will be no clear evidence about the “phantom” collaborator behind each track, apart from the music itself. By keeping the mystery on the identity of each co-producer, the duo is challenging their listeners to bypass the involuntary pre-conception and focus on the essential: listen and feel.

Moby needs little introduction: the American dance producer and live performer's albums are classics of the genre that are celebrated far and wide. They have been used on thousands of adverts, have given rise to hit singles all over the world and have made him one of the most celebrated electronic music stars of our time. His 'Go' track was what started it all for him back in the 90's, and was a bona fide club classic of the day. It still resonates today and always gets crowds going. Now it has been remixed twice by Loco Dice, who has added his own stamp to it in distinctive fashion.
His first excellent version is eight minutes of chunky and tribal drums, with rubber kicks, clipped horn stabs and big hits all building the pressure. Those most famous vocal cries really finish it off in style, and ensure that dance floors will go wild whenever it is dropped, as do wonky synths and big piano chords at the breakdown.
The second version is more emotive, with big sweeping strings smeared in the background to help make it all the more dramatic, teary eyed and impactful on the floor. This one is for the peak time in any set and is sure to make the most memorable moment of any night.
Both remixes here pack a real punch, and whilst remaining true to the original, they both sound just like you would expect from modern dance heavyweight Loco Dice.

Now Desolat boss Loco Dice is releasing an exclusive boxset of the album on vinyl, including a host of new remixes and limited edition items.
The reason this project is happening is because Desolat is a label that still prizes the physical format and inherent value of vinyl. As such, the whole thing, entitled the Underground Sound Suicide Box, is to be pressed to vinyl for a full physical release that will allow the exquisite sound design and rich detail to really shine.
The fine original cuts are being pressed across four 12" records, and on top of that, four separate remix EPs will also be included featuring classy reworks of the material by established names from the worlds of house and techno including Nightmares On Wax, Henrik Schwarz, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Kerri Chandler, Martin Buttrich, Robert Hood and Timo Maas among others.
On top of this, there is a custom made diamond shape metal USB stick containing all the material and bonus tracks along with four music videos to 'Get comfy', 'Keep it Low', 'Party Angels' and 'Sending This One Out'. The set also ships with a custom designed slipmat. All in all this exclusive material is packed in a handmade box and is available only as the DESOLAT USS BOX.

They have close associations with the label and have done for years, and after their great debut album Indirect in 2012, are now a very real force in the dance world.
The trio is also famed for its live show, which is performed using specially made consoles and has seen them headline all over Europe from Timewarp to Watergate to Rex in Paris. With releases on labels like 2020Vision and Vakant, this really is a fantastic outfit that once again comes up trumps here.
Opener "Altitude" is seven minutes or irresistible electronic funk. Jostling drums and odd synth sounds dance next to each other and you will too. Machines get loose and spit out soulful sounds and odd hooks and the whole thing keeps you locked for the duration. "Bucur" is a more peak time techno cut with forceful kicks driving it along, occult little alien sounds and snatched vocal parts that are fluid and free flowing and will really get under the skin of any dancefloor in expert fashion.
"Neo" then finds the Romanians going for a more minimal aesthetic with slick rubbery drums making a punchy pattern down below as heavenly female vocals up top add a key human element. Some spiritual melodies also explode above the groove and ensure that minds will be well and truly blown when this one is dropped. Lastly, the excellent "Permut" is a dubby roller with a fat and heavy bottom end that is impossible to ignore. It has some classic techno synths lighting it up and is the sort of hypnotic affair that will really stand out in the coming months.
With this essential new EP Premiesku continue to go from strength to strength.

"Taped Chrome" was written and recorded in one session, was recorded straight to tape and is an angst ridden, edgy peak time cut with coarse claps, loud, alarm-like synths and grumbling bass that will rattle the walls of any club. The perfectly dark and consuming "Till Melted" has pinging rubber kicks swaying beneath all sorts of withering and whirring synth lines and is a perfect freak out tune. Full of mischief and intensity with lots of subtle effects all adding to the tension, it is one that will get fists pumping in any set. "Take Away" was written in summer 2014 with vocalist Black Soda from South Africa. The track is made from various hardware synth, and is filled with feeling. It is built on a bed of pinging drums and coarse claps, but the heaviness lifts with the arrival of Black Soda's breezy, spoken word vocals and some colourful xylophone like melodies. It's a proper underground anthem in the making, frankly. Then comes Loco Dice with his version. It is chunky, with grainy, sheet metal claps, twisted vocals and skewed synths that all make it robust and masculine. Sure to be massive when dropped in the right club, it is a fine bit of work from the boss. Pablo Bolivar then steps up to remix and flips the track into a more uptempo, gliding house cut with starry melodic patterns, punchy drums and filtered vox. With nods to moombahton and trap, the 'Cyber Seduction' EP is set to pique the interest of those looking for something a little different.
'Cyber Seduction' is a futuristic staccato cut that itches and scratches. The rising synths create tension that segues nicely into a lip-curling, head-nodding bass. Swish vocal chops complement everything nicely to give a well rounded groovy track.
'Drop It' is an erratic yet pulsating affair. The topline acts like a MC, calling the listener deeper into the sublime production.
'Back' again makes effective use of a distinctive topline. Underpinned by bass led goodness its repetetiveness is cleverly offset by a full range of drum sequences that keep things fully entertaining.
'His Rhythm' comprises nice chunky beats and sharp vocal samples.

Following on from his joint effort alongside Marco Faraone for Desolat X in 2013, Luca Agnelli turns in a solo release for Desolat in April 2015. The release comprises four cuts that demonstrate the young Italian's finely honed production skills.Living up to its billing as the A side 'Optical' is a clear cut peak time affair whose warbling synths and climbing drum kicks pull the listener with it on its winding journey. 'Bubbles' perfectly describes the feel of the second A side which effortlessly combines a driving bassline and hypnotic synth to create a spine tingling experience. Swiss Train's punchy bass, frantic pace and melodic overtones will surely see it become a staple in many techno sets over the coming months.
The second B side 'Raw' is an intricate, pulsating affair that pulses and bends and creeps through the listeners mind.

Vidal and Pablo Bolivar have cemented the Pulshar name and reputation as proponents of dub-heavy, soulful and at times psychedelic electronic music. Their first Desolat long player 'Inside' received critical acclaim and effortlessly bridged the gap between the dance-floor and the home listening environment. They returned to Desolat in 2013 with a deliciously deep and trippy EP in 'Different Drum', and now continue their relationship with the label with 'Blood and Mathematics'. Argentine musician Daniel Melingo is an established artist in his own right in the Tango world, and his powerful and distinctive track 'Narigon' from 2005 is a classic, that got it's deserved vinyl release on Desolat Special Edition 002. This November Desolat is proud to unveil three fantastic official remixes of 'Narigon' from Radio Slave & Thomas Gandey, Ario and Guti. It all started a few years ago when Desolat discovered Ario's amazing unofficial remix of 'Narigon', which has been a constant feature in Loco Dice's DJ sets ever since. So great was the reaction to 'Narigon' that Desolat licensed the original and got Daniel Melingo to re-sing the acapella especially for their artists to work on. All three mixes offer wonderfully different perspectives. Radio Slave & Thomas Gandey's mix is an extended 15 minute hypnotic rhythmic masterclass, Ario stays close to the spirit of the original while Guti injects a twisted groove. With the original tango track featured as a digital exclusive this is a refreshingly brilliant package for those who want music rich with flair, colour and passion.
