Following on from 2010's critically acclaimed album 'Inside', Spanish duo Sergio S. Vidal and Pablo Bolívar aka Pulshar return to Desolat with the 'Different Drum EP', and all four tracks showcase the deeply hypnotic yet richly soulful sounds which the duo are synonymous with. Opener 'Wasting Time' is a collaboration with Desolat label head Loco Dice. The track, which was creating during a jam session between these friends, is a deep and twisted journey, with ocean-deep sub-bass, and features Loco Dice's own distorted vocals which echo in and out of the music. On 'So Tired', Pulshar have expertly crafted a captivating rich soundscape packed full of warm textures and atmospheres. 'Different Drum' is a similarly engaging and uplifting track complete with soaring synths and crisp drums. The 12" is rounded up by the standout 'She's Got A Ticket', with its infectious groove, rich sounds and contagious vocal layered over its psycadelic rhythm. On 'Different Drum' Pulshar have demonstrated with aplomb why over the last few years their distinctive and soulful brand of psychedelic electronic music has been turning heads and moving dancefloors.

Pulshar are emerging as true musical heavyweights, with compositions that traverse the borderlands between spacious songcraft and the futuristic outer-reaches of the dub-techno universe. Desolat is proud to present Pulshar's latest longplayer offering.
After receiving widespread critical acclaim for his various solo projects and remixes in 2009, the Inside LP sees Pablo Bolivar reunited with the tender tenor tones of Sergio S. Vidal for their much-loved Pulshar project.
On tracks like "Da Creator" and "Montparnasse 2am", an easy house groove takes its time rolling out languidly, while mild melancholia, sample stabs and outer-space delays hark back to the heyday of On-U: a synthetic interpretation of King Tubby's legacy that would sparkle in the early hours at a tech-house beach party. "Montparnasse 2am" incorporates eerie soundtrack fragments that explicate the duo's love of classic cinema, and the penultimate track, "Above the Wall", provides another filmic fragment: with surf guitar twangs atop a blissful doo-wop haze. A little magic goes a long way, and the blood light shines bright on some of the more pop-filtered tunes, such as the whistling nuance of "United States of Pulshar". With its plaintive, optimistic melody repeated like a hip hop sample, and burbling synth touches: it could stand as a manifesto for the project. "California State of Mind" lassoes elements of today's West Coast beats scene and the synth funk that preceded it, adding a tuneful dubby touch and letting everything melt together at leisure, while "S.T.A.R.S". and "Distant Fire" incorporate post-garage patterns and weighty bass, showing the full arc of dub's development. The two pay respect to their dub forefathers in a more literal manner on cleanly polished gems like "Empty Suitcase" and "Stepping Stones", a collaboration between Pulshar and Roberto Sanchez, who is a leading figure in the European roots reggae scene. Pulshar encompass the world of reggae influences and incorporate everything in their own distinctive, forward-looking style. Take a load off!

Loco Dice has unveiled his darkly eclectic album 'Love Letters', a 15-track embodiment of his diverse production range. Featuring the latest single 'We're Alive', the most highly anticipated record of his recent sets.
Dice's third studio album after '7 Dunham Place' and 'Underground Sound Suicide' sees him reflecting on his musical influences and connections to Dusseldorf and beyond. The album is packed with the producer's typically forceful tones, which blur the lines between house and techno. Utillising the bristling sounds and smooth drum beats, Dice's "Love Letters" album serves as an aural embodiment of the tones which make his sound so unique.
Throughout 'Love Letters', Dice uses his own vocals more frequently than on previous albums, which makes the production both trippier and more personal, representing past and present.
Addressing his listeners via special sleeve inside the 3x12" vinyl album edition, Dice writes:
"It's been a while since I've released anything in the form of an album. This time everything happened differently than my previous albums where I had the story or the concept first and where the music was my soundtrack to that story. This time the music came first - making and collecting music, having a good time in the studio without any pressure. It was not clear at all what to do with all this. To release it or not, if I have club 12" singles, or if I should just keep everything… but it felt good.
I looked around me and started to let only positive vibes into my surroundings and after I finished producing the 1st single "Roots", everything came together. The missing link was there. It was clear to me that this is an album that belongs on my label, Desolat. The music on "Love Letters" is filled with the positive energy and love that I have received around the world. Every piece on this album is like a mini letter. A Love Letter."
With a trio of collaborations on the album, Dice drafts in Serious Klein on "Selflove", Willam Djoko on "Out Of Reach" and Eddie Fowlkes on "D Town Playaz". As someone who is deeply influenced by genres like soul & funk, Dice invited German-based artist Serious Klein - who's work he has been following for the past while, to his Daddyscrib studio and a perfect blend was formed that was not only basted on their mutual African roots. When "Out Of Reach" began to take shape, it was clear for Dice that only the Amsterdam's finest - William Djoko, could provide the final shape he envisaged on the release. The third feature on the LP comes from Detroit godfather Eddie Fowlkes on the appropriately named "D Town Playaz", which features both of the artists' vocals and serves as a teaser for the things to come.
Continuing to headline the biggest clubs and festivals around the world, Loco Dice has directed his endless passion and musical sensibilities to bare upon his Desolat label, with a stream of records released from some of the most exciting artists around and supported by DJs across the globe.

When "Out Of Reach" began to take shape, it was clear for Dice that only the Amsterdam's finest - William Djoko, could provide the final shape he envisaged on the release. The third feature on the LP comes from Detroit godfather Eddie Fowlkes on the appropriately named "D Town Playaz", which features both of the artists' vocals and serves as a teaser for the things to come.

And there certainly are some impressive names involved: tINI,EnzoSiragusa,MartinButtrich,Guti,JulianPerez,Hector,RyanCrosson,CesarMerveille,Andrea Oliva & Premiesku. The classic Livio & Roby nuances will prevail, of course, but there will be no clear evidence about the “phantom” collaborator behind each track, apart from the music itself. By keeping the mystery on the identity of each co-producer, the duo is challenging their listeners to bypass the involuntary pre-conception and focus on the essential: listen and feel.
Livio & Roby’s emotive and mind-moving grooves have put them not only at the top of their homeland’s list of nest producers but also at the forefront of the global electronic scene. Moby needs little introduction: the American dance producer and live performer's albums are classics of the genre that are celebrated far and wide. They have been used on thousands of adverts, have given rise to hit singles all over the world and have made him one of the most celebrated electronic music stars of our time. His 'Go' track was what started it all for him back in the 90's, and was a bona fide club classic of the day. It still resonates today and always gets crowds going. Now it has been remixed twice by Loco Dice, who has added his own stamp to it in distinctive fashion.
His first excellent version is eight minutes of chunky and tribal drums, with rubber kicks, clipped horn stabs and big hits all building the pressure. Those most famous vocal cries really finish it off in style, and ensure that dance floors will go wild whenever it is dropped, as do wonky synths and big piano chords at the breakdown.
The second version is more emotive, with big sweeping strings smeared in the background to help make it all the more dramatic, teary eyed and impactful on the floor. This one is for the peak time in any set and is sure to make the most memorable moment of any night.
Both remixes here pack a real punch, and whilst remaining true to the original, they both sound just like you would expect from modern dance heavyweight Loco Dice.

Now Desolat boss Loco Dice is releasing an exclusive boxset of the album on vinyl, including a host of new remixes and limited edition items.
The reason this project is happening is because Desolat is a label that still prizes the physical format and inherent value of vinyl. As such, the whole thing, entitled the Underground Sound Suicide Box, is to be pressed to vinyl for a full physical release that will allow the exquisite sound design and rich detail to really shine.
The fine original cuts are being pressed across four 12" records, and on top of that, four separate remix EPs will also be included featuring classy reworks of the material by established names from the worlds of house and techno including Nightmares On Wax, Henrik Schwarz, Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Kerri Chandler, Martin Buttrich, Robert Hood and Timo Maas among others.
On top of this, there is a custom made diamond shape metal USB stick containing all the material and bonus tracks along with four music videos to 'Get comfy', 'Keep it Low', 'Party Angels' and 'Sending This One Out'. They have close associations with the label and have done for years, and after their great debut album Indirect in 2012, are now a very real force in the dance world.
The trio is also famed for its live show, which is performed using specially made consoles and has seen them headline all over Europe from Timewarp to Watergate to Rex in Paris. With releases on labels like 2020Vision and Vakant, this really is a fantastic outfit that once again comes up trumps here.
Opener "Altitude" is seven minutes or irresistible electronic funk. Jostling drums and odd synth sounds dance next to each other and you will too. Machines get loose and spit out soulful sounds and odd hooks and the whole thing keeps you locked for the duration. They have close associations with the label and have done for years, and after their great debut album Indirect in 2012, are now a very real force in the dance world.
The trio is also famed for its live show, which is performed using specially made consoles and has seen them headline all over Europe from Timewarp to Watergate to Rex in Paris. With releases on labels like 2020Vision and Vakant, this really is a fantastic outfit that once again comes up trumps here.
Opener "Altitude" is seven minutes or irresistible electronic funk. Jostling drums and odd synth sounds dance next to each other and you will too. Machines get loose and spit out soulful sounds and odd hooks and the whole thing keeps you locked for the duration. The Romanian trio Premiesku, who comprise of Livio, Roby and George G, return this December with the 'Aproape EP', their fourth outing on Desolat. Those that were there at the beginning of the journey will recognize that Premiesku's approach remains the same as ever - playful organic experimentation, sometimes groovy, sometimes hypnotic, resulting in eclectic analogue sounds of the finest calibre. Argentine musician Daniel Melingo is an established artist in his own right in the Tango world, and his powerful and distinctive track 'Narigon' from 2005 is a classic, that got it's deserved vinyl release on Desolat Special Edition 002. This November Desolat is proud to unveil three fantastic official remixes of 'Narigon' from Radio Slave & Thomas Gandey, Ario and Guti. It all started a few years ago when Desolat discovered Ario's amazing unofficial remix of 'Narigon', which has been a constant feature in Loco Dice's DJ sets ever since. So great was the reaction to 'Narigon' that Desolat licensed the original and got Daniel Melingo to re-sing the acapella especially for their artists to work on. All three mixes offer wonderfully different perspectives. Radio Slave & Thomas Gandey's mix is an extended 15 minute hypnotic rhythmic masterclass, Ario stays close to the spirit of the original while Guti injects a twisted groove. With the original tango track featured as a digital exclusive this is a refreshingly brilliant package for those who want music rich with flair, colour and passion.
