New Kanada presents a collection of superbly deep and tight emo house tracks by Seuil. All three cuts here are made for the long mix; blending elements of classic house, deep techno and random dopeness into a very modern whole. "Nine Clouds" is a classic slow-acid burner with a long broken intro that unfolds into deep space. '93 Hardcore meets Global Communication. "Blank Love" is a hazy delicate jacker with long noise echoes, an elastic lead and dripping steel drums..."Lonely Place" is drifting so far out, it's almost gone... sublime and mellow, old and new... Serious 10am vibe on this one.

Seuil is back on Eklo with new sound experimentation. After using only the MPC for his last record on the label, he has decided to expand to other devices to express his feelings about modern house music. Getting into modular synthesis and using two famous modern machine drums that you will perhaps recognize... But still no computer sequences in the circuit, in an attempt to make advanced and modern house music just with hardware.

Karat is delighted with this new single by SEUIL. We’ve been watching this guy attentively in his progression and we’re glad to finally find him on Karat while his production skills have reached a ripe condition. We guess his rise has just begun so watch him carefully in the near future. The two tracks of the record, in different ways , are close to Karat’s spirit ; deep, funky and abstract enough to be used as a floorfiller or at home for a precise listening. Sub boogie drama » is a jazzy atmosphere with an elegant restraint , even if you can feel the real swing in it. Ketalgine network » offers a true inner odyssey, deep, sensual, funky and exquisitely oppressive.

Seuil, - Lutetia
After some time spent entertaining from distant lands, the Circus Company brings it all back home with a release purposefully written to pay tribute to the breeding ground for their unique strain of house music, Paris.
Seuil stands proud as one of her most cherished creations; a man ever evolving as an artist from the structure and function of minimalist dancefloor music through to the esoteric expression and ambience of jazz, channelling that same swinging spirit that has characterised much of the work on Circus Company. The release of his 'Chamaeleonidae' album proved to the world that there was a strange musical spirit in Seuil that manifested itself in live drums and languid keys; character traits you could associate with his fellow Parisians dOP. The collaborations between them have been many in recent years, and once again they come together to both complement and test each other's styles in a surprising vision of what pop music could sound like if crafted with soul and imagination.
The beats stay tight and steady throughout the three tracks that make up 'Fluctuat Nec Mergitur', driving a foggy brew of strings, synths and drones into a commanding groove. Meanwhile the composition gently rises and falls on waves of melody, as particular harmonies swell in to carry you away to a very blue kind of euphoria. Such drama and passion captures the essence of both Seuil and his beloved city in one heady brew of dancefloor excellence.

Seuil, - Late Call
2
Seuil, - Slow Motion
The next EP on Germany's Hello? Repeat imprint comes from Seuil, one of Paris's most inspired underground producers. In terms of style, it's a match that could hardly be more perfect. Hello? Repeat has spent the past six years carving a niche for itself with EPs from Cabanne, Audio Werner and label co-founder Daze Maxim, plus acclaimed albums by Bruno Pronsato and Kate Simko. Seuil, meanwhile, has put out a steady stream of ultra-deep 12-inches on labels like Freak n' Chic and Sammy Dee's Ultrastretch. Both specialize in a sound that's modern, understated and hypnotic.
Late Call is exactly what its name suggests: a record made for the deepest, most tender portion of the night. The drums are slick and punchy, but the rest is woozy and romantic--this is one to put on when the crowd has stopped chatting and everyone's dancing with their eyes closed. Topping it off is a vocal line made famous by Diana Ross but recited here by an androgynous diva: If you need me, call me, no matter where you are, no matter how far... Dark, trippy and weirdly moving, this is one of Seuil's finest tracks yet. "Slow Motion" strikes a similar chord but with a more subtle approach. Here you notice Seuil's rare touch for subtlety: in the absence of any real "hook", he keeps the track moving with expertly sculpted drums, a warm half-melody and a gently propulsive beat. Soft chords sustain in the background to create a balmy summer night feel. Both tracks show Seuil and Hello? Repeat doing what they do best: delivering something deep, functional and full of character.

Having grown up on the tropical island of Reunion, Seuil familiarized himself with house music in an exceptional way: He played at parties in primeval forests and at beaches overgrown with palms. After having moved to Paris he absorbed the city´s club life like a sponge. Soon he played at seminal venues like Rex Club, Nouveau Casino or La Scène Bastille, astonishing Paris´ blasé club crowd with music as charming as demanding. Managing to produce music that is sweet and bold at the same time, he has become an indispensable supplier of sweeping house tracks. Reinventing house is this unique way, he actually crosses a threshold - which is the meaning of "Seuil" in French. Assembling a unique group of artists ranging from Tolga Fidan to Kate Simko, he founded his label Elko. Particularly the both releases of dOP wowed club music lovers all over the world. Being part of the Circus Company crew for quite some time, "The Nightwalker´s Discovery" is Seuil´s debut on the label. The four tracks showcase his versatile approach: "Rain on the Circus" a has moody, slow house vibe. Its grumpy, tuned down temper comes as a surprise. Reaching beyond house music´s normal emotional range, it induces the eruptive wit of a cartoon character. The complex drumming of futuristic "Nightwalker" reaches deep into the sonic space, where daunting basslines produce a pulsating rhythm. This special sentiment reminds of the black and yellow period from the founding days of Perlon. With "Heartbreaker", the EP´s moves into a different emotional direction: With its light and pervious grooves and lucid and diaphanous melodies, the track is full of hope and optimism. As a perfect conclusion of the EP, "Nazareth" feels like sound fragments waving from a distant party. The eerie melody in the background produces a subtle psychedelic effect. It is the perfect track for those later moments of a party, when the music can walk away from its track because the dancers are totally in tune with the music. In each song Seuil´s personal experience completely merges into the club music experience. Leaving no rest or residue, he becomes a real clubber.

Murr, - Noise In
New Kanada is honored to have the awesome Murr (aka Nicholas Murray) take the reins on the next release. Dusty drums, worn-out pads and a deep respect for the early beatsmiths, Nick always creates an atmosphere in his tracks that is definitely not the flavor of the month - but rather the taste of the year. On the A-side, 'Noise In' is a tough dusty jacker, that builds from a tight dub intoa shimmering melodic bomb. Feels like early Transmat, late Gherkin, or an Americanized LFO. Shuffle, simmer, and slam. The second cut on the A-side, 'Broken Glass', is a slamming ode to the SP1200. Beats swung hard, percussion rattling the kilter way off, and a suffocating groove. Watch out - the shards are sharp. On the B-side, Marshall reshapes the original 'Noise In' into a brutal example of a tough mixing tool. Heavy, pulsing basslines and an incessant jack groove. This one should move the floor. Red, yellow and orange. Rockit!
