For New Kanada, thermo acoustics is the area of sound that seeks to reconcile the laws of sinuous audio strands with the existence of black hole event horizons. Much as the study of the statistical mechanics of body radiation led to the experience of quantum sub dynamics, the effort to understand the statistical mechanics of bass has had a deep impact upon the understanding of holographic principle, leading to the formulation of these tracks.

Exposed within the interior of these tracks are a variety of intrusive and extrusive igneous structures. They include the extensive hydrothermal alteration of rhyolites and gabbros and a central megabreccia created by hydrothermal dissolution and collapse. The siliceous megabreccia is at least 40m thick in its center - to only a few meters thick along its edges. The breccia consists of fragments of white to dark gray cherty material, quartz-rich bass, diagenetic clap nodules, and stromatolitic snares. It is intensively silicified.

New Kanada's Adam Marshall delivers a stunning peak-hour track with obvious inspiration from old school Detroit techno and classik Chicago house. "Kokane" begins as a tightly wound minimal house groove with precise, pounding percussion and heavily swung Jack. After the 3:30 mark the track gives way glistening synth chords which shine through the darkness transporting the cut into Carl Craig-ish jazz territory. On the flip, Montreal's Ernesto Ferreyra [Mutek, Cynosure] brings a South American flavour to the remix and takes the dancefloor oddessy deep into the Chilean canyons. A late night mixing tool for the DJ's. Lastly, we find the outro called "Moonlight Chills" on the second cut of side B.  Ambient and lush, this one is for the late night Detroit highways. Dusty drums, worn-out pads and a deep respect for the early beatsmiths, Nick always creates an atmosphere in his tracks that is definitely not the flavor of the month - but rather the taste of the year. On the A-side, 'Noise In' is a tough dusty jacker, that builds from a tight dub intoa shimmering melodic bomb. Feels like early Transmat, late Gherkin, or an Americanized LFO. Shuffle, simmer, and slam. The second cut on the A-side, 'Broken Glass', is a slamming ode to the SP1200. Beats swung hard, percussion rattling the kilter way off, and a suffocating groove. Watch out - the shards are sharp. On the B-side, Marshall reshapes the original 'Noise In' into a brutal example of a tough mixing tool. Heavy, pulsing basslines and an incessant jack groove.
