Following on from his recent 'Obey / Resurrection' single which continues to receive phenomenal DJ support, Robert Hood returns with the next release for his formidable M-Plant label. The rhythmical adventures of 'Superman' immediately grab your attention as Hood shows us once again how it should be done. With his signature stripped-down beats and perfect blending of solid Detroit techno embellished with infectious tracky Chicago claps, 'Superman' is a real show-stopper. Alternatively 'Range' is a deeper ride through more acidic territories as Hood demonstrates why he's still the minimal master. Aimed directly at the dancefloor, this is sure to receive as much attention on the decks. With M-Plant firmly back where it belongs, the latter part of 2009 will see the re-release of two classic M-Plant singles 'The Pace' and 'Stereotype'. Not to be missed.

Following on from the special release of Robert Hood and Femi Kuti's live jazz set "Variations", Robert Hood delivers his latest Techno EP for M-Plant. This is the first new solo music from him since 2022's "Hectic / Amazon Dust" double-header.
Although Robert Hood should need little introduction, with his and his daughter, Lyric's Floorplan moniker riding high with a new album forthcoming on Classic, his Techno legacy should not be forgotten. Throughout the '90s, he helped pave the way for Techno to flourish - giving birth to minimal techno with his seminal album "Minimal Nation". Since then, he has been consistently forwarding electronic music culture with ground-breaking productions, sensational performances and his M-Plant label. His style is characterised by minimalist and experimental tones with an assertive groove.
His "Alpha Key EP" features four driving cuts of characteristically Hood music that prove when it comes to Techno, he's still a high-ranking master. The EP is out on vinyl and digitally 12 April.

Almost 30 years after its initial release, and accompanying the re-release of ’Internal Empire’
Tresor Records is proud to present a new pressing of Robert Hood’s essential “Master Builder” EP.
This work elevates its maker as master, and remains a cherished moment in the Tresor story, sharing an
irrefutable singular magic, sounding as present and indispensable as when first created. Originally
released in 1994 and 1995, ‘Internal Empire’ and "Master Builder" mark a point of transition for Robert
Hood moving on from his previous collaborations within Underground Resistance. Robert Hood advanced
uncovering the power of true minimalism. Deep soul through a simplicity that showed how much could be
done with so little. The devastating rhythms of this album forge the unmatched spirit of this sound,
influencing generations to come.
"25 years ago, I was faced with the challenge of following up on 'Minimal Nation'. I cancelled all my tour
dates for that summer, setup my studio in the living room and began to work on 'Internal Empire'. My
intention was to create something distinctively dierent. Looking out my living room window in Detroit
watching people go by gave me a new perspective. It made me look at the world within myself. 25 years

Robert Hood returns to Rekids with ‘The Blueprint EP’ this July. Following 2020’s ‘Mirror Man’ LP on Radio Slave’s Rekids, Detroit pioneer Robert Hood returns to the label with a four-track EP of his trailblazing minimal techno. Leading the release, ‘Chroma Light’ opens with cinematic pads and pounding 4/4 patterns as twisted synthesis modulates throughout for a striking start. Followed by ‘The Majestic (Deeper Edit)’, with rattling percussion and fiercely relentless stabs, Hood shows his intent in creating propulsive, dancefloor focussed cuts across the EP. On the flip, ‘The Majestic’ takes the B1 spot, expanding on the previous track with wild synths and his signature machine-like drums before ‘Ultrasonic Room’ closes out the release with eerie atmospherics and an underlying hypnotic pulse taking centre stage. A founding member of Underground Resistance alongside Mad Mike Banks and Jeff Mills, Robert Hood is one of techno’s originators, with his decorated career spanning three decades across labels like Tresor, Peacefrog, Music Man Records, and of course, his own M-Plant.

To open M-Plant's 2021 schedule, Robert Hood announces the return of the Perpetual Masters series. A founding member of Underground Resistance alongside Mad Mike Banks and Jeff Mills, Robert Hood is one of techno’s originators and his decorated career spans three decades. The American artist and his M-Plant label laid down the blueprint for minimal techno and 1994’s ‘Minimal Nation’ on Axis was a definitive album that further cemented Hood’s reputation as one of the greats to emerge from the Motor City. Since then, Hood has gone on to release on many of electronic music’s best labels like Tresor, Peacefrog, Music Man Records, Dekmantel and more. After a busy few years making music and touring as Floorplan alongside his daughter Lyric, Hood now joins Rekids with an album showcasing his innate knack for crafting paired back but intricate rhythms that deliver punch and soul. Opening with the cinematic ‘Through A Looking Glass Darkly’, the album quickly flows into precise, powerful four four. There’s mesmerising cuts such as ‘Fear Not’ with its throbbing bass and spectral vocals, the twisted and off-key ‘Run Bobby, Run’, not to mention muscular tracks designed to light up dancefloors like the machine driven ‘A System of Mirrors’ or the mesmerising ‘Face In The Water’. Hood also breaks things up with downtempo and mind-bending interludes, including the tranquil yet spooky ‘Black Mirror’ and the beatless and murky ‘Freeze’. Each of these are aural feasts that demonstrate his vast musical pallet. From start to finish ‘Mirror Man’ is an education in finesse from one of techno’s most heroic artists, landing on one of electronic music’s most important labels. TRACK LISTING: A1. Through A Looking Glass Darkly, A2. Fear Not, B1. Black Mirror, B2. Falling Apart, C1. Run Bobby, Run, C2. A System Of Mirrors, C3. A Shattered Image, D1. Face In The Water, D2. Freeze, D3. Prism

Robert Hood - The Cure
Techno pioneer Robert Hood debuts on Rekids with a blistering release entitled ‘Nothing Stops Detroit’ ahead of an album this winter. Over the last three decades the Underground Resistance alum has continually been at the forefront of the techno genre whilst releasing on many of electronic music’s finest labels to boot. In recent years his solo outings have appeared on a select few labels such as Dekmantel, Music Man Records, not to mention his very own M-Plant. Having made appearances on Rekids in the past remixing label boss Radio Slave - both as Robert Hood (‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’) and Floorplan (‘Feel The Same’) - the Detroit originator now drops a four track release in his official debut on the label. With its machine aesthetic, ‘Nothing Stops Detroit’ is unmistakably Hood from start to finish. Precision kick drums propel the title track forward as stuttering effects and deep stabs work alongside a march band rhythm. ‘7 Mile Dog’ is next with its grainy synths and scintillating pads, making way for the meandering bassline, rattling atmospherics and trippy, oscillating top line of ‘Ignite A War’. Finally, ‘The Cure’ is a cacophony of twisted percussion and rumbling low-end that energetically concludes matters. TRACK LISTING: A1. Nothing Stops Detroit, A2. 7 Mile Dog, B1. Ignite A War, B2. The Cure
