On "O-Pen" the focus is not to make any concept around the tracks or the album itself, but just to have ten full compositions that each have their individuality and not necessarily is the same genre or style. You'll hear more melodies again and instruments, as well as analogue drum machines and modular synths that creates the soundscape of this album. "O-Pen" is a very organic album, which includes all sounds you'd hear in the usual house & techno stuff from Martinez but also shows inspiration from more dub, ambient and even jazz influences.

Martinez returns to Concealed Sounds and delivers a wicked two track 12" of that deep hypnotising sound that we know him for of late. This record kicks off with "The Path" a 10 min journey though sub bass, glitchy rhythms and haunting high pitched sounds. A perfect tune for that late hours on the dance floor! On the B side we find "Wigflipped" a twisted little number of minimalistic funk. Cut up voices, bleeps, broken rhythms and a light but powerful kick drum make up the foundation of this track. The kick drums SWITCHES constantly between 4/4 and breakbeat, making the main groove ever DEVELOPING. A bit into this 14 min piece some dark rhodes chords are taking over leading it forward. With its swirling and hypnotising feeling through out, its a perfect tune for the after hour. As always we have something extra hidden on this vinyl… We hope you will enjoy this 12" as much as we at the Concealed Sounds OFFICE has.

Concealed Sounds return with a new 12" for 2014. This time around we have invited our friends from mysteries SYLPHE label to remix the title track by Martinez, and they delivered a monster! On the A side we find: "Consolidation (Sylphe Lydløs Dub)", were we are taken a true journey thru sound and rhythms for about 13 minutes. The remix kicks off in a kind of tracky way, with a strong focus on the irresistible groove laid down by Holdie Gawn & Micawber. After the first small breaks and manipulations to the groove, we are introduced to some very trippy modular sound design. These sounds takes the lead of the remix and forms into small melodies in a very organic way. While you can still sense the ingredient from the original track, Sylphe takes a slightly different directions and offers a good opposite to the original with their own special twist. The original version of "Consolidations" is presented on the b side of this 12". Its a dirty groove ridden track that goes on for well over 10 minutes, developing from a broken groove into a more danceable Techno pieces, with its shattering metallic sounds, bubbly baselines, deep layers of sub rhythms and lush pad chords to give it some more atmosphere. Two very different version of modern instalment in Techno music. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do… and as always there is a special hidden track on this 12".

Concealed Sounds is a brand new label from the Copenhagen based producer and DJ: Martinez. The label is set up as a platform for the more deeper shade and experimental sound of Techno and House Music. It will feature releases by Martinez himself, but also showcase some new talents as well as well known colleagues from the scene. And as the label name suggests each release will include a hidden sound, beat, groove or ambient piece. The first release comes courtesy of Martinez, and its called: Hollow EP. It starts off with a 14 minute piece of modern modular based Techno. Deep hypnotic rhythms lay down the foundation while high pitched noisy metallic sounds build over the hollow groove, before the baseline kicks in to lift everything to another level. The piece finally breaks down completely, to an almost "horror-film-soundtrack" like ambience before the groovy rhythms find their way back to bring the track to life again.

It is a huge pleasure for Etruria Beat to welcome to the family, for the first time on an Italian label, Martin Swanstein, better known as Martinez. The Swedish/Danish is best known for his release on labels such as Moon Harbour, Cadenza, Lomidhigh, Love Letters from Oslo and La Pena. Martinez's first release, that kick started his carrier in 2000, was his "Laidback Grooves EP" on the notorious Chicago based Deep-House label Guidance Recordings. Since that time he's been a regular on the worldwide Deep/Tech-House scene. On the A-side we start out with the title track "Lonely Crowd". This track has the signature Martinez, bass driven, hypnotic and percussive house sound, opening with tight percussion over a distinct rolling beat that is soon joined by a heavy 808 kick drum. The groove filters into a more open house beat before a heavy bassline drops in. While the track keeps groovin' horns and metallic crowd noise rise before the groove crashes back in. "Venomous Advantage" is a more stripped down house affair with a strong connection to the old Chicago tracks of Gemini and Green Velvet. A deep round kick drum and metallic drum's and hi- hat's kick things off. Some chopped up voices drop throughout the track and slowly, but steady, deep chords filter into the groove. After the main break a acidic second bassline is introduced. An excellent hypnotic floor builder with lots of hidden treats. On the flip we have "Tenganan". Named after a spiritual city in Bali, Indonesia, where the Aga people lived in their own society for many years, completely cut off from the rest of the world. Martinez was lucky enough to visit the city on one of his recent Asian trips and was able to record the atmospheric sounds of this magical place. These samples lay the back ground to the entire track and are built over slamming percussive drums, underpinned by a driving bassline. The track leads into a peak time break and introduces another layer of voices and sounds, while some well placed snare drums lead it to mayhem. "Prism", is a deep dubby Techno track. Bass headlines the track, blended with deep and groovy percussion. A bubbly trippy sound filters thru the drums taking the lead and becoming the hook line. A perfect track for the after hour session!

Danish producer Martinez rarely fails to surprise club music lovers with his versatile views on Techno and House. His very special enthusiasm enables him to seize new musical territory with every release. With his debut record on Cadenza, his house sound develops another depth, a more general view of the ever evolving tension between life and music. The Mzuzu EP is all about bass. The bass is all around, the bass gushes into every corner of the club, it pervades concrete and iron. While the low frequencies deal ruthlessly with architecture, they are kind to us humans. The basslines put the dancers in a conforting state of hypnosis which might be an unconscious reminder of the long gone time when one still rested in one´s mother´s womb. It arouses the memory of a state when one is completely merged with the surroundings. Martinez reorganises the structure of house music: The lashing grooves cease to be the center of the tracks. Martinez moves the heartbeat of the music from the beats to the bass. Its firmness releases the other elements of the tracks, creating a free-spirited feeling. Freed from their regular task the grooves are enabled to be rough and open. Instead of trying to control the crowd, they ravish us with their liberating energy. The tracks rarely need anything else. The icing on the cake consists in tiny vocal samples. Creating an irritating athmosphere, they put us in a state of constant curiosity. Disolving completely into the flow of the tracks, the human voices become pure sound. "Mzuzu Chant" and "Adagio" are for the beautiful moments when the dancing crowd detaches itself from time and space. Martinez´ compositions manage to unleash a deep joy that only Tibetean monks might feel after weeks of medition.

A cool sliding groove spreads a deep but slightly progressive feel. Two excellent tunes from Captain Martinez‘ space ship - now boarding.

The Adultnapper is Francis Harris from Brooklyn, New York, a shrewd & clever coeval who reveals his vision of modern electronic dancemusic on his first EP for Audiomatique entitled "Gravity EP". Following releases on his Matter:/Form imprint, his track "Choose" has recently been included on the much acclaimed Audiomatique Vol. 1.0 CD. Now the Gravity EP holds three new cold twinkling Techno tracks. The well-read producer carefully chose the tracknames which refer to what he considers as greatest novel of the 20th century: „Gravitys Rainbow“ by Thomas Pynchon. Much of his relationship with music coincides with his love of literature. When he is working on tunes, he tends to have a specific project or concept in mind. At the time, he was thinking of some specific moments in the novel and this music came to mind. The first track an the a-side named „Fodder Feeder“ refers to the material production of knowledge in media and capital, a feedback loop of control that works in its apparent flaws and mistakes. If one notices, the main synth that comes in is a bit odd and almost out of time, but works in a grinding sort of way. „Metabulia“ on b1 is the living organism that is no organism at all. Just the illusion of humanity as projected by the fodder feeder (the word doesnt even exist). And „Slothrop“ on b2 is actually the main character in Gravitys Rainbow. Now you know

Although their number of collaborations is small, the chemistry between Berlin trio Afrilounge and Stuttgart's own Patrick Chardronnet is an undeniable part of the Poker Flat story. The Chardronnet vs. Afrilounge production collaboration arrived with a bang in 2005 with the squelchy tech house jam "Just For A Little Peek"; it turned into a breakout hit of the Poker Flat Four Compilation, and became the project's production calling card, brimming with suspense and irresistible melodies.
Following that same year came the group's EP Phonix, which honed in on the budding sound of funky minimal house with an electro influence, and intricate, sample-driven rhythm patterns. Years later in 2009, with demand showing no sign of waning, "Just For A Little Peek" finally earned a dedicated EP re-release, enhanced by new remixes from Gabriel Ananda and Sarah Goldfarb. Now on Audiomatique Recordings, the studio magic of Chardronnet vs. Afrilounge returns for the stunning collection of new tracks that makes up "What About Us". The title track reveals a deeper and more contemplative mood for 2014, with a pensive piano loop, a dark-toned deep house swing, and a vocal sample that speaks to the experiences of the disenfranchised. Chris Lattner's remix of the same provides a punchier and more dramatic rhythm track for maximum impact and a more urgent effect. Tigerskin aka Alex Kruger is certainly one of the most prolific artists releasing electronic music these days. His Tigerskin alias has released music on a plethora of respected platforms, far and wide across the spectrum of electronic music labels. Now we happily welcome him to Audiomatique, Steve Bug's imprint designed to support the techier, more intense end of his eclectic love of house and techno.
Lead cut 'Everybody Likes Ollie' whirls and skips across a liquid platinum backdrop of silky smooth grace and ecstatic wonder. Part tough pumping house, part disco, part future techno, its an anthemic track that throws the listener right in the middle of an epic, mind-blowing main event! Uplifting spaced-out synths sing and climb, augmented by funky percussion patterns and classic strings stabs. Pure quality, as if we expected anything less from this producer!
On the B-Side the longer and more tripped 'Supersonic' comes on strong like a techno classic. Bubbling and freaking in the background with off-kilter FX, and building slowly as a number of momentous synth elements mark its incline, its a building monster of the highest order.

Hamburg‘s very own Stimming arrives on the hospitable shores of a freshly cut Audiomatique with the wonderful ‚Buxton Pipes‘ EP. With releases on Diynamic, Freerange, Terminal M and Liebe*Detail Martin Stimming‘s carreer was boosted by the underground hit „Una Pena“ last year and peaked in his debut album ‚Refl ections‘ earlier this year. ‚Buxton Pipes‘, the lead track on the new EP, is a beautifully reduced, gentle roller that combines textural, shifting fi ltered percussion, phasing, effected melodies and a rich sub-room sound design that confi rms Stimming‘s talents at working those subliminal zones. Dainty, pretty and yet totally punchy at the right volumes, its a genuine slice of ultra modern micro-post-minimal- house. Continuing the trippy, time-melting vibe perfectly, ‚Kakusei‘ arrives with its pushing array of softened percussion and carefully extended spooky breakdowns. Sliding and squelching through 7 minutes of prime tracky workout territory its another stellar addition to the record. Finally the skipping ‚Seepferdchen‘ throws a spanner in the otherwise smooth grooves with delicately jacked drum patterns and controlled sub-bassline throwdowns. Super funky, ultimately reduced and sample-heavy it‘ll make those afterhours carry-ons all the more delicious. Simply superb work from Stimming on Audiomatique.

Already a mainstay in the scene with admired releases on brother label Poker Flat, and of course Connaisseur, Patrick Chardronnet returns with a wonderful 2 track EP on Audiomatique. A delightfully trippy, post-minimal adventure, ‚Piper‘ raises the brow for Chardronnet, dropping the big room synths this time in favour of a very organic, low-slung addictive groove. Sparse, tricky percussion underpins the headsdown late night vibe, as a drifting ensemble of mystic vocals and haunting horns unfolds over 11 minutes. Enchanting, mesmeric and deeply spaced, this reduced-percussive foray explores Chardronnet‘s more hypnotic side... a priceless cut of of hybrid house from a modern master. On the B side the driving, textural chimes of ‚Dropout‘ ensnare the listener into another beautiful and mysterious world. Solid-state, bass-led percussion and crisply-cut percussive fx remain subdued whilst an epic, swirling synth landscape weaves its dreamy tale. The prolific DJ, producer and lord of the Slovenian undergound, Umek has been a long standing figure on the international Techno scene and produced countless EPs and remixes since his production debut over a decade ago. After some very well received releases for the likes of Renaissance and Kickboxer records, Stephan Hinz, who has also turned out some hot tracks alongside Martin Eyerer, presents ‚Bacala‘. Its a cheekily warped excursion into Hinz‘s deep and melancholic dancefloor world, spurred on by a great theme melody, as if you found yourself in the middle of a medieval rave after a long and victorious battle! Tight, familiar percussion works the groove, building towards a dramatic break which introduces more layers of synthesised wonder! Check this in the main room for maximum effect. Audiomatique key player Adultnapper‘s remix comes on strong, with a tougher drive and a slightly more freaked out vibe. Trademark hissing percussion works over a finely tuned minimal groove, eventually allowing that haunting melody to show its colours.
