Hamburg‘s very own Stimming arrives on the hospitable shores of a freshly cut Audiomatique with the wonderful ‚Buxton Pipes‘ EP. With releases on Diynamic, Freerange, Terminal M and Liebe*Detail Martin Stimming‘s carreer was boosted by the underground hit „Una Pena“ last year and peaked in his debut album ‚Refl ections‘ earlier this year. ‚Buxton Pipes‘, the lead track on the new EP, is a beautifully reduced, gentle roller that combines textural, shifting fi ltered percussion, phasing, effected melodies and a rich sub-room sound design that confi rms Stimming‘s talents at working those subliminal zones. Dainty, pretty and yet totally punchy at the right volumes, its a genuine slice of ultra modern micro-post-minimal- house. Continuing the trippy, time-melting vibe perfectly, ‚Kakusei‘ arrives with its pushing array of softened percussion and carefully extended spooky breakdowns. Sliding and squelching through 7 minutes of prime tracky workout territory its another stellar addition to the record. Finally the skipping ‚Seepferdchen‘ throws a spanner in the otherwise smooth grooves with delicately jacked drum patterns and controlled sub-bassline throwdowns. Super funky, ultimately reduced and sample-heavy it‘ll make those afterhours carry-ons all the more delicious. Simply superb work from Stimming on Audiomatique.

Although their number of collaborations is small, the chemistry between Berlin trio Afrilounge and Stuttgart's own Patrick Chardronnet is an undeniable part of the Poker Flat story. The Chardronnet vs. Afrilounge production collaboration arrived with a bang in 2005 with the squelchy tech house jam "Just For A Little Peek"; it turned into a breakout hit of the Poker Flat Four Compilation, and became the project's production calling card, brimming with suspense and irresistible melodies.
Following that same year came the group's EP Phonix, which honed in on the budding sound of funky minimal house with an electro influence, and intricate, sample-driven rhythm patterns. Years later in 2009, with demand showing no sign of waning, "Just For A Little Peek" finally earned a dedicated EP re-release, enhanced by new remixes from Gabriel Ananda and Sarah Goldfarb. Now on Audiomatique Recordings, the studio magic of Chardronnet vs. Afrilounge returns for the stunning collection of new tracks that makes up "What About Us". The title track reveals a deeper and more contemplative mood for 2014, with a pensive piano loop, a dark-toned deep house swing, and a vocal sample that speaks to the experiences of the disenfranchised. Chris Lattner's remix of the same provides a punchier and more dramatic rhythm track for maximum impact and a more urgent effect. B-side production "Morning Poem" harnesses the power spoken dialogue again, with a big filter of distortion, and wispy, whirring deep tech sounds tha testablish a late night feel.

Tigerskin aka Alex Kruger is certainly one of the most prolific artists releasing electronic music these days. His Tigerskin alias has released music on a plethora of respected platforms, far and wide across the spectrum of electronic music labels. Now we happily welcome him to Audiomatique, Steve Bug's imprint designed to support the techier, more intense end of his eclectic love of house and techno.
Lead cut 'Everybody Likes Ollie' whirls and skips across a liquid platinum backdrop of silky smooth grace and ecstatic wonder. Part tough pumping house, part disco, part future techno, its an anthemic track that throws the listener right in the middle of an epic, mind-blowing main event! Uplifting spaced-out synths sing and climb, augmented by funky percussion patterns and classic strings stabs. Pure quality, as if we expected anything less from this producer!
On the B-Side the longer and more tripped 'Supersonic' comes on strong like a techno classic. Bubbling and freaking in the background with off-kilter FX, and building slowly as a number of momentous synth elements mark its incline, its a building monster of the highest order.

Lead cut 'Everybody Likes Ollie' whirls and skips across a liquid platinum backdrop of silky smooth grace and ecstatic wonder. Part tough pumping house, part disco, part future techno, its an anthemic track that throws the listener right in the middle of an epic, mind-blowing main event! Uplifting spaced-out synths sing and climb, augmented by funky percussion patterns and classic strings stabs. Pure quality, as if we expected anything less from this producer!

Made up of brothers Ark, the Parisian known for his pioneering releases on Perlon and Karat, and Pit Spector, an up and coming producer, they join forces on their debut EP for eclectic label Hold Youth. True to the Hold Youth ethos the EP calls on a number of different influences, from the smooth, funk-led vibes on Tournsoul, to the techno-inspired sounds of Seuil’s remix of The Nuts. Ark & Pit Spector explore all that is sexy and hypnotic through the subtle but effective All Green, while more down-tempo The Nuts is verging on 80’s-esque wonky-pop. Telling a tale of house music’s early days or roots without mentioning Tony Humphries as a club DJ, remixer and radio disc jockey would make it an incomplete, forged and most of all a bit of a yawn.
Born in Brooklyn in 1957, Humphries’ musical journey is synonymous with New York City’s dance music history and the evolution from uptempo soul music to house: from being a dancer at David Mancuso’s infamous Loft parties to becoming a mobile DJ and getting the call from Shep Pettibone to become his right hand at
the then new Kiss FM radio station, followed by countless remix offers and a legendary residency at Newark’s Club Zanzibar. Next to that one, is was especially his work as a radio disc jockey for said station during most of the 1980s until 1994 that gave him majestic clout. Breaking new records week in, week out,
putting New Jersey acts like Adeva and Jomanda or countless up-and-coming producers from there on the musical map, while simultaneously playing the hottest imports from Europe, trax from Chicago, dance classics and all things straight from New York’s music factory that never seemed to stop.
Going to his vast and almost complete archive of radio shows from way back when he graced those airwaves, we at Running Back Records have pickedNew Release Information original recordings that symbolize his importance as an industry giant and ambassador of this style of music.

Telling a tale of house music’s early days or roots without mentioning Tony Humphries as a club DJ, remixer and radio disc jockey would make it an incomplete, forged and most of all a bit of a yawn.
Born in Brooklyn in 1957, Humphries’ musical journey is synonymous with New York City’s dance music history and the evolution from uptempo soul music to house: from being a dancer at David Mancuso’s infamous Loft parties to becoming a mobile DJ and getting the call from Shep Pettibone to become his right hand at
the then new Kiss FM radio station, followed by countless remix offers and a legendary residency at Newark’s Club Zanzibar. Next to that one, is was especially his work as a radio disc jockey for said station during most of the 1980s until 1994 that gave him majestic clout. Breaking new records week in, week out,
putting New Jersey acts like Adeva and Jomanda or countless up-and-coming producers from there on the musical map, while simultaneously playing the hottest imports from Europe, trax from Chicago, dance classics and all things straight from New York’s music factory that never seemed to stop.
Going to his vast and almost complete archive of radio shows from way back when he graced those airwaves, we at Running Back Records have pickedNew Release Information original recordings that symbolize his importance as an industry giant and ambassador of this style of music.

The limited edition full-length comes with pristine audiophile treatment and luxurious packaging : a 45rpm and Half Speed Mastered DLP housed in heavyweight silver cardboard sleeve.
Imagination's singular 1983 album Night Dubbing is a refined deconstruction of black British soul and club pop, filtered through the deep studio and mixing techniques of dub music. Elegant, restrained, and, in its very own subtle way, radical, the record reshapes choice selections from the group's stellar catalogue into an immersive and out-of-this-world listening experience.
The special mixes on Night Dubbing are built on time and space. Basslines elongate and dissolve. Vocals appear, vanish, and reappear like ghosts. Drums fall away into vast silences, while echoes, tape edits, and precise engineering manoeuvres smoothly slide across the stereo field, revealing themselves like magic over repeated listens. Live Trax Vol. 1 is the first in a series of new releases that come from live hardware sets
recorded straight to 1/4” tape.
It’s rough & ready deep house that’s been road-tested on cultivated dance floors, including
Heidigluhen, Block 9, Sunset Sound System and Love International.
Two years ago, a good friend - who knows stuff - suggested I should do a live show. Thinking it an
interesting concept, I started building the idea of a full set with new and old music, and set up my
hardware in a way that would allow me to make it work.
Distilled down to the essentials, my live touring rig consists of four main pieces of gear -
Sequentix Cirklon, Roland MC-707 & TR-8S, and a 1010 Music Blackbox.
This process led to making music in a new way that harks back to the 90’s when I started - all
hardware, minimal gear and recording versions straight down to the Studer A80 Tape machine.
These tracks are the beginnings of the fruits of this process.
If you don’t know me: as well as doing my own music, I work in various capacities as producer,
mix engineer and arranger for Honey Dijon, Luke Solomon, Gideon, Horse Meat Disco
Defected Records and lots more.
I’ve performed at as some the best clubs and festivals including Genosys & NYC Downlow at
Block 9, Heidegluen, Adonis in London and Panorama Bar.
My style of house and techno has always been tipped towards the underground, with raw, deep &
driving sounds all key to the mix.

We feel like Frank & Tony and Smallville have been on the same musical wave-length since forever. Our musical paths have crossed back and forth over the years and we have always shared a lot of the same values- steadily putting out quality music, that stands the test of time - growing consistently - never stop following our very own way - always not-following trends forever..
Frank & Tony is the collaborative guise of Scissor & Thread co-founders Francis Harris and Anthony Collins aka Grant. Both have long been staples of the underground with material under their own names and numerous other guises shaping the musical landscape of House Techno and beyond since the turn of the millennium. Both lived together in New York and as Frank & Tony the pair have delivered multiple albums and many EP’s on their own label, Tokyo’s Mule Musiq and Pacific Rhythm- now they are warmly welcomed onto the Smallville Records roster with their latest collection of works.
‘Ways Of Mine’ leads on the A-Side and showcases the pairs signature deep hypnotic house style via soft billowing pads cascading metallic chimes psychedelic spoken word and dreamy dubbed out keys floating atop a robust bouncy rhythm
section.To open the flip-side title-track ‘After All’ lays down a subtly blooming chord sequence shuffled drums and bumpy bass stabs at its core all subtly nuanced while the latter half introduces more dynamic rhythmic elements and intertwined melodic touches. ‘Dimension’ then concludes the release diving deeper with saturated ethereal pads and bubbling resonant arpeggio lines alongside heavily swung crisp drums jazzy keys and delayed vocal chants.
After All comes with a full cover artwork by Stefan Marx.
