From when he got his first multitrack recorder as a teenager, Jesper Ryom has been conveying moods through all kinds of genres of music. Over time, this has led the Berlin-based Dane to create a swirl of evocative, yet danceable atmospheres, drawing inspiration from hip hop and weaving in samples from an eclectic music collection. His sound is as emotive and climactic as the post rock that defined much of his musical upbringing, and while his music has been played for the dance floors around the world, his own private persona will rarely be found in clubs. It was 2010 that marked the beginning of a steadily growing catalogue of intricately assembled house tracks, conveying both buoyant dreams and melancholic moods. A homely perfectionist at heart, Jesper has made the rare choice of saying no to most gigs to focus instead on tracking down whichever sample or coincidental noise that can express the current state he is in - for the benefit of himself and his dedicated following.

This October will see the release of Jesper Ryom's 'Aviator' EP on La Fleur's Power Plant Records, backed with a remix from the label boss herself.
Budding producer Jesper Ryom has gradually become a well-respected name in electronic music since making his debut on Power Plant Records with 'Nature Boy' in 2011. Since making his debut Jesper has relocated to Berlin to embrace the thriving music scene the city has to offer, and has gone on to release with German imprint Freude Am Tanzen, as well as recently supporting Marek Hemmann on his latest album tour, which stands as testament to his striking skills as a producer and live act. Here we see Jesper Ryom make a return to Power Plant Records with the long awaited 'Aviator' EP, again showcasing his signature melodic, groovy and heartfelt style. On the latter half of the release we a remix that comes from label-head La Fleur, who reshapes 'Aviator' with her signature upfront style, opting for a more stripped-back feel with her interpretation La Fleur crafts a dreamy reshape fuelled by chiming melodies, while the rugged rhythms and infectious sub tones generate a more dance floor focused feel.

La Fleur's certified hit, the Flowerhead EP, launched her Power Plant Records imprint into the stratosphere in 2010. Following the Flowerhead EP would be no easy task, but it's one that young Danish talent Jesper Ryom takes in his stride. The second chapter of Power Plant Records' story exists within Jesper Ryom's refined musical universe, where samples and live guitar merge and mesh for a kaleidescopic whole that's greater than its parts. As Ryom drifts in a dream-dance state, he delves further into sonic experimentation, but is ever mindful of the dancer and the DJ. Nature Boy EP begins with the restless liquid ripples and refracted rays of "Godt Begyndt" which translates as 'good beginning' in Danish. A skippy, syncopated house tempo provides the grounding and the momentum, as the shimmering melody pulses and turns in a circular motion in the mid-distance. A softly distorted vocal refrain of "Someday.. you and I..." floats by, while gentle reverb tangents and rhythmic guitar strums add to the track's bittersweet reverie. La Fleur steps up for the remix of "Godt Begyndt" and deftly transitions it from a midsummer haze to a sunset house groove. With a tight 4/4 beat and a rolling piano loop from the outset, La Fleur's intention to make you dance is clear. With the introduction of a heavy vibrato bassline, the aim can't help but be fulfilled. WELL DONE!

Only released in October 2006, Anders Trentemøller‘s stunning debut-album „The Last Resort“ already evolved into one of the most successful independent albums of the year. Raving reviews all over the place, various elections as „album of the year“ and solid playlists at the radios express the huge interest in the fantastic album. While 2006 has been topped of with a tour through Australia, the first Trentemøller highlight in 2007 will be the release of „Moan“, the second single from the album. For the a-side Trentemøller himself created a brilliant remix of the „Moan“-Vocal Version, which has been released on the Bonus-CD of the limited edition album only. Trentemøller managed to keep the mystic melancholic vibe of the track featuring the vocals of danish talent Ane Trolle, but adds punshy drums, screaming synths and some more guitars to guarantee serious dancefloor-action. Approximately 3 years after the release of their debut album, ETNOBOTANIKA are back. Lesne Duchy is yet another joint release from the Silesian duo, coming out on the collaborative efforts of Superkasety Records and The Very Polish Cut Outs. These are still the sounds of a dusty old cassette, however this time the digging didn't take place in the allotment gardens, but rather somewhere in the woods, within a thick layer of moss. Hauntology and nostalgia still play important roles yet they are no longer in the foreground. Certain associations with primordial magic, wild backwoods and unspeakable mysteries come to the fore. The ambience encapsulated in these tropes is the key to understanding this album. One can, of course, mention that sonically the producers are once again flirting with dubtechno, ambient and sampled collages, but all these genre clichés are only tools resulting from the individual inspirations and experiences of Alergeek and Uwdar (i.e. the two halves of ETNOBOTANIKA), and are meant to build the right mood, not to put Le?ne Duchy into the tight framework of, say, club music or trip-hop. If this album is to be pinned down to anything, it is probably library music.
The 80 minutes of music spanning two vinyl records and a chunk of cassette tape make for quite a long record, ETNOBOTANIKA however make sure there is absolutely no dullness, precisely thanks to the variety of moods. At times it leads us playfully out into the woods, other times it haunts us a little, but eventually all ends well, and we don't even get the chance to realise that we've been wandering around the green backwoods for over an hour... and we want to go back there again and again.

An art school friend of Justice's Xavier De Rosnay, in later years, the likes of Air, Alex Gopher, Mr Oizo and of course Daft Punk were on heavy rotation for Thibaut, this heady melange of all of the above helping to create the Breakbot sound.
Just like one of his biggest inspirations, in the form of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" it was Berland's intention to make an album that rewards you for listening to as a whole: "I guess you could say my album is more a pop songs album than a Berlin techno record with water drops sounds in it - I wanted to make a pop journey that would have all my influences, without being a reference catalog"

'Fantasy features the vocals of L.A. based vocalist Ruckazoid - an astonishing discovery whose honied pipes are a dead ringer for the late, lamented King Of Pop..'One Out of Two' features Irfane's irresistible vocals, in addition to four other tracks ('Baby I'm Yours', 'A Mile Away', 'Another Dawn' and 'Mayfly and the Light'). Björn from Pacific sings on the glorious 'By Your Side (Pt 1 & 2)".
"I do everything myself except the vocals. I just fiddle about, I couldn't play a classical part, I do what I can. There are pieces of guitar samples, friends drop-in and play over my instrumentals. I love pop and funk, so I try to take that direction. That's where that hybrid sound comes from. Breakbot is a dude in a basement looking for melodies", says the ever modest Thibaut.
