Golf Trip is the new solo project of Gautier de Bosredon, former member of the Camel Power Club that he co-founded in 2013. The tracks he co-produced and co-wrote have now accumulated over 50 million listens on streaming platforms and the project is now touring all over Europe to present them.
Resulting from a writing that was done since his departure from the group, the music of Golf Trip is goovy and solar. The will to make a record which is soft and positive was the thread of all its realization. Newcomer Izzy Wise delivers a wonderful funk and afrobeat upcoming EP Keep It Movin’, right before summer, on french label Délicieuse Records. After releasing on japanese institution Mule Musiq, the producer hits us with four serious disco-house burners.

"AKA", one of his most disco afro-beat tunes, is a straight-up boat party anthem with happy vibes. Huge brass instrumentation, strong 4/4 beat and a vocoded vocal are raising a tension towards the entire track which is bridging the gap between Fela Kuti and Moodymann.

On remix duties, french legend Uptown Funk Empire, the man of many projects (Voilaaa, Mr President, Patchworks) brings a dirty disco touch to the Keep It Movin’ single. On the other hand, Colombian sensation Bosq brings a latin flavoured take to the record single.

The San Francisco-based multiinstrumentalist and DJ has spent the last two decades literally exploring a world of music. Return EP for the danish producer Jesper Ryom. Three track of pure deep-house bliss. As a recall, the producer received high appraisal from the likes of Marek Hemman, Kink, La Fleur and got support on XLR8R, Resident Advisor and BBC 1 for his previous work that gathered millions of streams online.

From when he got his first multitrack recorder as a teenager, Jesper Ryom has been conveying moods through all kinds of genres of music. Over time, this has led the Berlin-based Dane to create a swirl of evocative, yet danceable atmospheres, drawing inspiration from hip hop and weaving in samples from an eclectic music collection. His sound is as emotive and climactic as the post rock that defined much of his musical upbringing, and while his music has been played for the dance floors around the world, his own private persona will rarely be found in clubs. It was 2010 that marked the beginning of a steadily growing catalogue of intricately assembled house tracks, conveying both buoyant dreams and melancholic moods. A homely perfectionist at heart, Jesper has made the rare choice of saying no to most gigs to focus instead on tracking down whichever sample or coincidental noise that can express the current state he is in - for the benefit of himself and his dedicated following.

The Ghia saga unfolds once more, but in this chapter, there's a new and unique twist. "Out of Luck" draws its roots from a previously lost track, originally composed by the group in 1985. This time around, the song has been expertly reworked by Marian Tone, with new vocals by Adriano Prestel. The outcome? Quite possibly one of the smoothest and most refreshing modern funk tunes you'll hear this year.

But let's rewind to the beginning of this adventure: Earlier this year, DJ Scientist stumbled upon another early Ghia composition tucked away in the depths of a master tape. It was a treasure too precious to remain unheard. Sadly, the original track couldn't see the light of day due to sound quality and issues with the original vocals. To make matters more disappointing, no instrumental version survived. Thus, the only way to share this catchy boogie funk track with the world was to recreate it from scratch.

HYbr:ID Vol. 2 is the second installment of Alva Noto’sHYbr:IDseries initiated in 2021. The new album captures the music commissioned to score RichardSiegal's Ectopia performed in 2021 by Tanztheater Pina Bausch with Shooting into the Corner (2008-09) by Anish Kapoor. Building upon the captivating blend of immersive dub and electronica from the first installment, HYbr:ID Vol. 2 takes the listener on a journey into the realm of intricately manipulated digital production. These ten compositions delve into infinity, drawing inspiration from resonance and elasticity, concepts rooted in Minkowski's four-dimensional spacetime model. Throughout the album, Carsten Nicolai summons precise rhythmic patterns that gracefully hover, reminiscent of celestial bodies orbiting in perfect cosmic unison. The sonic landscape gradually unfolds with somber and brooding tones, incorporating spacious sound design, ethereal atmospheres, and cascading metallic percussions. DJ Plead kicks things off with his signature bass heavy sound on his version of The Yuzer, setting a high bar for what’s to come. Accompanying him on the A-side are a couple of cuts from label founder Dauwd. The first, “Electronic Live Mix” of SpaceSamba is inspired by Dauwd’s live performance at Mutek 2022 while his Deep Dub Mix of The Yuzer could be some of his best work to date on the imprint. "Pulso de la Madera" comes as the definitive official reissue of the first album by the legendary band, along with previously unreleased remastered material, on a double LP with extensive liner notes and previously unseen pictures of the band. Essential to revisit the work of a band that inspired fourth world and organic ambient as we know it today; these tunes sound immersive and still contemporary.

On their short but influential career, Finis Africae proposed an informal and decentralized model of creativity that was decades ahead of current practices linked to technological advances; they explored unknown worlds and imagined landscapes of the “fourth world” apart from their present; they neither affirmed nor denied any of the labels they were to assign to them (“New Age”, “ethnic music”, “world music”, etc.); they recreated, used, and nourished foreign cultures without fear.

And most importantly - they shaped a sound “finis”. Your own space. Where there were no rules. A dimension in which the collective was submerged in long sessions of improvisation; where they could be goblins and magical entities; a place where they could imagine scales and structures unreal; where they could play any instrument in the known world; where they could tour the Mediterranean, Africa, and the Middle East in a blink of an eye; where they could be themselves without caring about anything that happened outside.

The unreleased tracks come as a careful selection of a deep-dive over hundred tracks and demos, compiled by Urba and Glossy Mario. The license comes from Juan Alberto Arteche's family.

After a ten year pursuit, Efficient Space finally presents Late, Late Show, the last recordings of influential Sydney-via-Newcastle band pel mel. Taped in the mid-’80s, these charmingly unvarnished sessions pare the combo back to their core, producing blue-collar sophisti-pop to a danceable LinnDrum beat. From the funky disco-not-disco of ‘Mr President’ to the effortless pop perfection of ‘Fool’s House’, the six tracks reveal a creatively open and well-oiled pel mel before they inevitably disbanded.

Formed in early 1979 as a misfit sextet from steel and surf town Newcastle, pel mel were inspired by New York and UK’s post-punk imports. Cutting their teeth speeding through originals and Joy Division, Wire and The Buzzcocks covers every Friday night to a regular turnout of dole bludgers, students and the under-age, the band would also cross-pollinate with electronic-leaning support act The Limp. In 1980, they decamped to Sydney to join the city’s flourishing alternative music scene alongside the likes of Laughing Clowns, Tactics, The Reels, Wild West and the M Squared crew, making an indelible mark with two albums and several singles as the only domestic signee of Factory’s Australasian licensee GAP Records. Catchy and intelligently experimental without being noisy, their musicianship and enduring legacy continues to be lauded by peers.

Undoubtedly some of their strongest output, this previously unreleased demo suite documents pel mel free from the pressures of a commercial outcome, naturally elevating them to a class alongside Orange Juice, Antena and Young Marble Giants.

WRWTFWW Records is proud to announce the worldwide reissue of Midori Takada’s solo album from 1999, Tree of Life, available on vinyl for the first time ever in a new audiophile mix by the Japanese percussionist herself, and in full half-speed-mastered glory. The 180g LP comes in a heavy sleeve with a beautiful design by Kohei Sugiura. Tree of Life is also available in CD (digipack) and digital formats.

Originally recorded in September 1998 at legendary Ginza (Tokyo) studio Onkio Haus (founded in 1974 and where Ryuichi Sakamoto’s "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" and many more were recorded) and released on CD only for the Japan market in 1999, Tree of Life is Midori Takada’s best kept secret, a lost gem of minimalism and percussive ambient. The album is separated in two parts, the first one finds Takada exploring her trademark environmental soundscapes with precise mastery of marimba, drums, and bells, notably on the magnificent fan-favorite "Love Song Of Urfa". The second half is a collaboration with Chinese virtuoso Erhu player Jiang Jian Hua, allowing Midori Takada to unveil new layers of her artistic mind with a slightly more theatrical approach and a beautiful crystallization of complex simplicity.

The entire album was given a fresh new audiophile mix by Midori Takada herself and was mastered at Emil Berliner Studios, with half speed cutting for the vinyl version, to ensure an audio presentation aligned with the Japanese pioneer’s vision.

This Tree of Life reissue follows two newly recorded Midori Takada albums, Cutting Branches For A Temporary Shelter and You Who Are Leaving To Nirvana, both available on WRWTFWW Records, along with her 1983 masterpiece, Through The Looking Glass.
