Pakarapol, the mastermind behind this release has made his name in concrete actions towards the development of the local and international scene whether it’s to play sweaty basements or grand festivals, releasing quality music or being one of the driving forces behind the record store called “More Rice” which is located in the heart of the capital city - Bangkok. On the title track of the release there has been intensive remix work done by the Uruguay’s own diamond level producer Luis Malon. Luis has brought his view and vision of how things are done and has flawlessly executed this doing so. With this Thai - Uruguayan connection the release is born for our ears and souls to indulge in and of course without any doubt to raise that dust from the floors, roofs or any given surfaces once the low ends of the record starting to give off its vibrations.

An EP packed with slicing hats and dynamic basslines, Sense of Tension is a perfect collection of dancefloor grooves from Thai producer DOTT.

Opening track ‘Sense of Tension’ combines moody basslines with floaty driven chords whilst flaring hi-hats cut seamlessly throughout. The title track moulds between minor dreamy chords and high cut synths creating a divine level of contrast which sets any dancer's pulse raising. On A2 ‘Among the Lines’ sees DOTT take the tempo down a pitch, bringing a cerebral quality to his music as detuned synths float alongside driven claps and tranquil vocal samples. On the flip side DOTT opens with ‘Detuning Your Mind’, adding a minimal influence to the music with complex driven kick patterns and dynamic jazz samples wash throughout. B2 brings in Boulderhead, a Bristol based producer who adds a funky flip to ‘Detuning Your Mind’. Boulderhead who has a string of well received releases on labels such as Craigie Knowes and Rhythm Section holds nothing back on the remix - delivering a grooving base and euphoric set of synth lines to the track, sure to make any dancefloor move.

More Rice returns with its ninth release and second vinyl drop of the year, delivering a heavy-hitting EP from label co-founder Sarayu. The Don. Mueang. marks his first full solo release on the label since 2021, reaffirming his distinct voice in Asia’s underground dance scene.

The A side features two peak-time weapons: no nonsense, bass-driven influenced techno rollers built with the dancefloor firmly in mind and straight to the point.

On the flip, trusted More Rice regulars step in on remix duties. O-Wells reimagines Don Vito Bingus with a warm, rolling take that leans into house and tech house territory, giving the track a smoother, hypnotic swing. Mogwaa closes out the EP with his Fiesta Mix — an electrified, rhythm-forward version that does exactly what it says on the tin: it bangs.

More Rice is back with their 7th release, “Double-O-Seven”, the first split EP between More Rice head honchos DOTT and Sarayu. The Ep showcases the artists’ own way of interpreting the acid bassline.

The A-side Bullets On The Floor is built on DOTT’s signature basslines on a 303 with a moving atmospheric background texture throughout the track, combined with haunting noises and melodies from his trusty Prophet 6. Pricey Drive Down was made with the same foundations and instruments, with the idea of creating something different with the same timeframe.

On the B-side, Sarayu’s 4am Sci-Fi features a prominent arpeggiator throughout the track together with a rhythm created from a sequencer. A surprise on the second drop included, one for the dance floor. On B2, a trancier track of the EP, comes with rolling acid basslines with drums that keeps the tracks moving.

Percussion mastermind Ploy arrives on Dekmantel with a double-pack of unbridled dancefloor heat that sees him reconnecting with his house roots.

Before he made a striking breakthrough as Ploy with wayward broken techno for Hessle Audio and Timedance, Samuel Smith's first releases as Samuel were leftfield house excursions. On this release for Dekmantel he wanted to reflect on a decade of releasing music and the many high-impact dancefloors he's shared with the label, from Selectors to De School, over the years.

The common denominator across these eight tracks is no-nonsense house, offering up grooves that will serve a DJ exactly what they want in the mix. At the same time, Ploy doesn't dilute the distinctive edge of his sound, from the abundance of perfectly balanced percussion to the nagging hooks of an off-key synth line dropped at just the right moment. Wry samples inject the mischievous humour he's always creeping into his craft. After a long break in April 2024, two old friends returned to their studio in Helsinki, Finland.
