An EP packed with slicing hats and dynamic basslines, Sense of Tension is a perfect collection of dancefloor grooves from Thai producer DOTT.
Opening track ‘Sense of Tension’ combines moody basslines with floaty driven chords whilst flaring hi-hats cut seamlessly throughout. The title track moulds between minor dreamy chords and high cut synths creating a divine level of contrast which sets any dancer's pulse raising. On A2 ‘Among the Lines’ sees DOTT take the tempo down a pitch, bringing a cerebral quality to his music as detuned synths float alongside driven claps and tranquil vocal samples. On the flip side DOTT opens with ‘Detuning Your Mind’, adding a minimal influence to the music with complex driven kick patterns and dynamic jazz samples wash throughout. B2 brings in Boulderhead, a Bristol based producer who adds a funky flip to ‘Detuning Your Mind’. Boulderhead who has a string of well received releases on labels such as Craigie Knowes and Rhythm Section holds nothing back on the remix - delivering a grooving base and euphoric set of synth lines to the track, sure to make any dancefloor move. Launching their new collaborative dancefloor release series, the Bangkok-based duo Chalo and Vell, with support from MetalMetal, proudly presents "Made From Moss." Inspired by the simple, flowerless plants, the EP and release series present a collection of simple and driven club-focused rollers, ideal for any dancefloor.
The lead track, "The Man With No Teeth," opens with a growling bassline and cracking hi-hats throughout, balanced with dynamic vocals that pop and sizzle throughout the many drops, sure to have dancers moving. Followed by "Wrong Portal," Chalo expertly crafts a driving acid bassline and simple yet flowing synths throughout, keeping the pulse and creating a dynamic sense of groove. The B-Side opens with "MarinExp (Club edit)," a track featuring Thai musician MetalMetal. The track cuts with breakbeats and tambourines while keeping Chalo's unmistakable driving kicks and cuts. "MarinExp" is balanced with a breakdown of flowing synths and dynamic vocal shouts. The final track of the EP, "Latency Phantasy" (Chalo and Vell), shows both artists at their best: a techno-flowing acid roller equipped with chopped vocals and surprises throughout the track. More

Though shifting styles the four track EP ‘Intelligent Jump Rope Music’ presents Sarayu in his element, the record is craft of high quality and club ready dance music from start to finish. On the A side, Sarayu opens the EP with the ‘The Bag’, a myriad of infused warm synths and driving hats placing the listener solidly on the club floor. ‘E30 Track’ (A2) then follows with a much moodier bass filled aura, fluidly moving the listeners onwards with a set of sizzling synths and well crafted drums. On the B side the Album title ‘Intelligent Jump Rope Music’ drops the tempo to 120 bpm with acid tinged synths and dynamic snares. B2 then brings in Locked Groove, driving the tempo back to 136 bpm with an ecstatic club finish, intertwining floating sets of emotional synths and grooving hits together to tremendous result.

Boiled Wonderland Records welcomes Chalo to the label with four tracks of forward thinking and beat driven dance music. On the A-Side, ‘Trickster’ sees the Thai producer, and live performer kick things off with big broken basslines and cracking breaks flying dynamically throughout. The title track ‘Lucid’, A2, takes the tempo even faster at 136 BPM and sets a floating sensation in motion as long dreamy chords and sizzling snares wash over the music. The B side commences with the EP’s biggest track, ‘Mirage’, lashing crisp hats and acid basslines which roll thunderously through towards the final climax. B2 brings in Remotif, a Bristol based producer, with a Jungle remix of Lucid. Remotif, who runs the ‘Familiar Strangers Label’ has had a string of well received releases over the past 2 years and holds nothing back on the remix - bringing a UK jungle hammer to Lucid. Chalos’ lucid is a superbly quality record, as a full time mastering engineer at ResurrRec vinyl and his own Resistance Mastering, Chalo knows how to craft a quality sound and this release will cement his place amongst the latest homegrown Thai talent.
