OK EG turn inwards on Silent Green, their new release on Kia's ambient label Cirrus. Written for a live performance in Berlin, Silent Green finds balance between intimate post club dream states and low tempo rhythmic workouts. Fragmented voices harmonise with delicate synths and organic textures on open sky. Wooden machinery clicks and whirs on veil, opening into an inner expanse. Optimistic warmth and melancholy blend on spirit, knitted with resonant hi hats, scrolling wavetables and dubbed claves. Sequenced hand drums and piccolo snares create structure for rising pads and analog bass on death adder, as subtle grooves unfurl under the watchful gaze of digital crows. The artwork, created by the Amsterdam based digital artist Tharim Cornelisse, finds the cycle of life and death in the artificial environment of a greenhouse, digitally blended with patch notes from the first time the music was performed.

Rick Wade on Norm Talley's Upstairs Asylum are words that will excite any true school house heads. Wade is a production machine who turns out always no-frills, trusty and tracky grooves of the sort that are always essential for building a vibe in a set, and Talley's a fellow Detroit head who has long been helping to shape the house sound. The second album proper from the duo of Innis Chonnel & Loris S. Sarid builds upon the horse box studio experiments of their initial collaborative tape Where The Round Things Live (2022) with a more refined focus on their playful synergy, all shifting textures, digital synth motifs and gigabat cave traversing side quests adding gracefully to the 12th Isle mythology. Fictional character Moshi details a ship-to-shore excursion across mountains, encountering deep-breathing bohemians, shaman shoes and butterfly towers along the way. The pair soundtrack said trip with eight tracks of drifting ambient-not-ambient, downtempo electronic jazz stylings and nods to cinematic synth scores and 90s techno trance futurism. Wood-workshop sampled percussive elements mesh with new age pleasantries and buried, bit-crush distorted vocal haunts. Looking For Mount Sylvan works with computer music, hi-tech dreams and electro-acoustic techniques alongside customised autoharp swells, natural world recordings of leaves-turned-percussion and a production attitude that breathes life into the fantasy realm our protagonist Moshi must navigate.

Studio Batsumi Returns with Ya Hu Ra — A Deep Listening Journey Through Analog Soundscapes.

London-based label Studio Batsumi returns with its second release, Ya Hu Ra, a four-track EP. Blending analog warmth with organic textures, the record includes four raw cuts that moves from broken beats and hypnotic melodic house on the A-side to downtempo, tribal rhythms and ambient soundscapes on the B-side.

Written and recorded between London and Paris from 2020 to 2025 by Federico Bigonzetti and Maxime Obadia, the project also features Cameron Cullen and DJ Himitsu (Enharmonics) on Kirtan (A2). The EP blends field recordings from Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia, crafting a sound that feels both intimate and vast.

The concept behind Ya Hu Ra was developed by label cofounder Marta Paccagnella, a study in sound archetypes where each track represents a different symbolic state: initiation, movement, trance, return. Whether on the dancefloor or in a living room, this release offers a rich and immersive listening experience, balancing club instincts with introspective detail.
