Axel Boman returns in defiantly good form with a brand new original EP on his very own Studio Barnhus label, blessing this fast paced world with some slow moving music inspired by the Eterna Primavera mountains outside Medellin. Specifically, this record was created during months of isolation spent on an avocado farm, with the Swedish producer letting the outside world disappear bit by bit, until only clear shapes of unclear importance remained.
Of course, this is all just an attempt to poetically describe a collection of tracks that sound exactly like the kind of disco business Axel has been meddling in for the last 15 years. Don't be fooled by the rocks that he got, he’s still, he's still Axel from the block. Viva house music!

Pampa's favourite Barnhus boy returns to the label fold, and his previous episode is no easy act to follow: 2010 was the year, Holy Love was the name, and "Purple Drank" the undeniable track of the year; it captured the dancefloor zeitgeist with its sultry tempo, and created an classic with its instantly recognizable vocal. While he last left us falling down the rabbit hole, Axel Boman's newest concern is upward, forward, accelerated motion. "1979" cool-toned and pensive take on classic downtempo deep house. It holds on to the necessary bare banes of percussion, but surrounds it with light touches and a soothing pastoral feel. Time is taken and moments have room to breathe, in this meditative exploration of gently shifting moods. "Nokturn (Grand Finale)" is carnivalesque in the grandest sense, with endless movement via its dominant percussion pattern. Its looping background is perpetually primed for take off, building in intensity as the Latin rhythms preoccupy the shoulders and hips. A double bass phrase minimalist bass loop takes care of the low end groove, and together with glimpses of vintage disco sounds, creates another surefire hit.

For the fourth release on DJ Koze and Marcus Fink's Pampa imprint, hyperactive hotshot house hunk Axel Boman steps up and delivers a stunning debut EP for the label. Since many years an important force on the small but friendly Swedish club scene, and one third of the Studio Barnhus crew together with Kornél Kovács and Petter, Axel is as experienced a producer as his ideas are fresh. This tattooed Swede often talks about creating "worlds" rather than "tracks", and on his "Holy Love" EP we are transported to three very different places indeed. The title track, a collaboration with vocalist J Jonason, invites you to take part in a lazy afternoon cocktail party onboard an old sailing boat in Gothenburg's archipelago. Ten City are mixing up the White Russians and Giorgio Moroder's estranged Swedish grandson is peeling the shrimp. You fall asleep on the patio and wake up in a sweaty basement later that night. Through the shabby speakers of one of those small but friendly Stockholm night clubs, you hear "Purple Drank", a sleazy, sexy number that draws influences from Houston style screw music, classic deep house and hypnotic techno. The irresistible vocal hook - "I woke up with your name on my lips" has already echoed across dance floors from Tokyo to Amsterdam. Bouncy yet unsettling, this track is probably the most obvious DJ's favorite on the EP. Morning comes yet again, and for the after party we head to Axel's private rooftop terrace in sunny Gröndal. The laptop speakers are banging out the most loved up piano loop you ever heard. "Not So Much" is as simple and naïve as Axel Boman's haircut, a perfect ending to a perfect night and a perfect little record from this imperfect genius of a dance music producer.

Nearly a decade after the release of his breakthrough debut album “Family Vacation”, Axel Boman returns with astonishing force: Two albums, titled “LUZ” and “Quest for fire”, will drop
simultaneously on April 15th 2022. Containing nine songs each and featuring guests like Off The Meds frontman Kamohelo, Baba Stiltz, Bella Boo, Man Tear, Miljon and saxophonist Kristian
Harborg, the two albums are separate but corresponding works, communicating through music, design and words. Together with long time collaborators Robin Ekemark (design) and Erik
Lavesson (words and art direction), Axel has spearheaded a project with plenty of layers available to those that dig deep.
Erik writes:
” For Axel’s two albums, we wanted to build on the music to create a kind of expanded universe. If you just want to listen to the music, it’s all there and you don’t have to look any further. If you want
to go deeper, you have these extra layers to delve into: album art, text, archive material. They feed back into the music and open up new perspectives, while the music opens up ways
to enter the other material as well.”
Erik’s text “Brandenburger Ulam” will accompany the album project's physical release, with both records arriving together in a limited triple vinyl package, allowing for the full experience of Robin’s
design. In the digital domain, the albums will be featured separately on all streaming platforms, with Dolby Atmos mastering for those seeking to go beyond the usual listening experience.

Axel Boman’s Eyes Of My Mind is part world-unifying house music psychedelia anthem, part collaborative Gesamtkunstwerk. As so often the case with Boman’s home label Studio Barnhus, the process leading up to the release happened naturally, among friends.
Axel’s initial sketch (made during sessions at Future Classic Studios in LA) was sent to his good friend, long-time Studio Barnhus associate Malin Gabriella Nordin, who found herself obsessed with the track’s twirling drums, softly flowing melodics, big booya bass and mind-expanding message.
The Stockholm-based visual artist put the track on loop, started drawing and painting to sound and wouldn’t quit until 455 individual works lay before her. These images were then animated to create the video version of Eyes Of My Mind – they will also be exhibited at Stockholm gallery Steinsland Berliner in the year of our lord 2020, with kind support from The Swedish Arts Grants Committee. A print magazine featuring 44 of the drawings is also available in limited edition. The magazine and the vinyl single’s artwork were designed by Robin Ekemark, another regular contributor to the visual world of Studio Barnhus.
The video version of Eyes Of My Mind will be available through Studio Barnhus’ YouTube channel from March 27, with a full digital single release on studiobarnhus.bandcamp.com and on Spotify happening the same day. A full colour artwork vinyl 12'' will be available from April 10, with the opening date for the exhibition at Steinsland Berliner still TBA. More

Axel Boman broke through in 2010 with his Holy Love EP, released on DJ Koze's Pampa Records. The track Purple Drank became an instant classic in underground house music circles – since then, Boman has toured extensively while releasing original productions and remixes on labels like DFA, Hypercolour, Kompakt, Permanent Vacation and Ovum, as well as on Studio Barnhus, the label he runs together with Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist. Nearly a decade after the release of his breakthrough debut album “Family Vacation”, Axel Boman returns with astonishing force: Two albums, titled “LUZ” and “Quest for fire”, will drop
simultaneously on April 15th 2022. Containing nine songs each and featuring guests like Off The Meds frontman Kamohelo, Baba Stiltz, Bella Boo, Man Tear, Miljon and saxophonist Kristian
Harborg, the two albums are separate but corresponding works, communicating through music, design and words. Together with long time collaborators Robin Ekemark (design) and Erik
Lavesson (words and art direction), Axel has spearheaded a project with plenty of layers available to those that dig deep.
Erik writes:
” For Axel’s two albums, we wanted to build on the music to create a kind of expanded universe. If you just want to listen to the music, it’s all there and you don’t have to look any further. If you want
to go deeper, you have these extra layers to delve into: album art, text, archive material. They feed back into the music and open up new perspectives, while the music opens up ways
to enter the other material as well.”
Erik’s text “Brandenburger Ulam” will accompany the album project's physical release, with both records arriving together in a limited triple vinyl package, allowing for the full experience of Robin’s
design. In the digital domain, the albums will be featured separately on all streaming platforms, with Dolby Atmos mastering for those seeking to go beyond the usual listening experience.

His first release on the label arrives as part one of his Lightworker double EP, giving the artist ample room to showcase his own vision of contemporary, „mental techno“ as he dubs it himself.
Fitting this description, opener Delirium is a deeply hypnotic tune, mastering the subtle art of sustain and release to effortlessly cycle its own energy. Vicious Night then tips towards a more percussively lead momentum yet stays true to the less-is-more approach of Arkan.

In a blend of cultural nostalgia and contemporary resonance, be-friended artists Krystal Klear and La Raf are set to release their first collaborative record titled "Boli Boli" (It hurts, it hurts) this autumn. The record is a steamy homage to the 80s disco-synth-pop. La Raf’s vocals equipped with Krystal Klear’s sound remind us of the bittersweet memories of the bygone yet still beloved music-era from former Yugoslavia.

Solomun & CASSIM remix two of the track rake from Radio Slave’s Venti album released earlier this year. Diynamic boss and Ibiza titan Solomun remixes Radio Slave ‘The Lunatics’ on Rekids, following the original’s inclusion in Matt Edwards’ acclaimed ‘Venti’ album in May. The original, a rework itself, reimagined the 1981 Fun Boy Three track ‘The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum’, with Edwards’ ode to the band’s late lead vocalist and The Specials frontman Terry Hall winning support from Saoirse, Erol Alkan, Jennifer Cardini, Laurent Garnier, Paul Woolford, and Honey Dijon. Solomun’s remix of ‘The Lunatics’ is sparkling aural nostalgia executed with total joy. Crisp 80s drums, Stranger Things-esque Jupiter 8 synth swells, the vocoded titular vocal, and a gloriously rich sliding bassline combine to drag the listener back to 1983 in the best possible way. Lee Holman's forthcoming release, 'NECH026,' marks his return to NECHTO, following his 2022 EP on Nastia's imprint. With an uncompromising underground ethos, Holman has built a solid international reputation through his distinctive techno sound. His performances as a live act and DJ have taken him to prestigious venues like TRESOR Berlin, Khidi Tbilisi, and Corsica Studios London. Known for his vast record collection and dynamic performances, Holman's productions have earned international acclaim.
The upcoming EP evolved organically, with three of the five tracks being part of Holman's live shows for NECHTO events. Lee Holman's forthcoming release, 'NECH026,' marks his return to NECHTO, following his 2022 EP on Nastia's imprint. With an uncompromising underground ethos, Holman has built a solid international reputation through his distinctive techno sound. His performances as a live act and DJ have taken him to prestigious venues like TRESOR Berlin, Khidi Tbilisi, and Corsica Studios London. Known for his vast record collection and dynamic performances, Holman's productions have earned international acclaim.

The LP features 12 tracks all written and produced at Ark of Noisevstudio, located miles away from the polluted noise of social turbulences, immersed in isolation, creative indulgence, and poetic writing.
From the start, 'Art Break' provides the perfect warm-up, gently cleansing the palette and re-introducing us to Barkosina’s lustful vocals with a slow-burning pace that only marks the beginning. 'Wrong' picks things up, injecting a dose of body music for an infectious piece that bleeds into 'La Pendue' which keeps the energy rising. Next up, 'Mr. Guillotine' delivers a razor sharp edge, carving out a fresh post-punk feel which then brings us to the brooding, 'Never Satisfied'.
'Lover’s Crime' marks the halfway point of the record and one of the album’s standout tracks. Undeniably seductive with an ominous feel, the pair keep this mood going with 'City Lights' and then smash things open with 'Dancing With Demons'. After the devious message sent with 'The Letter', we are submerged in the romantic melancholia of 'Death Of A Lover' and 'Regarding the Pain of Others' before closing things out with 'Social Anxiety' which features vocals by longtime collaborator Broken English Club. For Dutch artist Stefan Vincent, the feeling of melancholy also offers the opportunity for beauty to be found.
“Decay and loneliness can serve a purpose. Depression can teach you things. To feel deep sadness also means the ability to feel profound emotions.” he says. With this in mind, his debut album on MUSAR Recordings, “Post- Melancholy”, unpacks the twists and turns of grappling with this emotion, drawing from breaks, electro and IDM to make his most intricate work to date, after previous releases on Token, Dynamic Reflection, Symbolism, and Non-Series.
Throughout “Post-Melancholy” Vincent traces the wave of melancholy and how it moves through the body, which allows for lighter moments alongside darker moods. Perhaps the lightest track on the album is its acidic-breaks opener, “Eyes Unclouded”, with its soaring acid lines and dazzling synths, which acts as a false pretense for the rest of the album. Tracks like “Poise”, “Arpeggino” and the meditative “Yonghegong Lama Temple Exit F” also break up the intensity. However, nestled between the more pacey, bass-weighted tracks on the album, these lighter openings still feel like tear-jerkers.
The more common associations of melancholy show up on tracks like “Another Skin To Wear” and “You Know This Isn’t Going To End Well”, which all create a more ominous feel via IDM and the polyrhythmic structures of drum’n’bass. Particularly on “Another Skin To Wear”, which borrows its name from a Radiohead lyric, the track's swooping motion feels realistic to melancholy’s chaotic and often unpredictable path. But, like all great storytellers, Vincent leaves the most poignant moment of the album for last with the rolling “8AM on the Train… (For Maarten)” devoted to his dear friend, Maarten, who sadly passed away at the young age of 36.
