A student of Beuys, he founded Berlin"s legendary Zodiak Free Arts Lab, a subculture club, in 1967/68, was a member of Tangerine Dream (together with Klaus Schulze and Edgar Froese) and Kluster (with Dieter Moebius and Hans-Joachim Roedelius) and also released countless solo albums. "Auf dem schwarzen Kanal" is one of the most outstanding, most sought-after releases in Conrad Schnitzler’s
extensive catalogue. It was the only Schnitzler record to appear on a major label and saw him flirting with the
experimental new wave sound that was emerging in 1980, particularly on the title track. Nevertheless, it still managed
to sound idiosyncratically unlike any other music around at the time.
Recorded with Wolfgang Seidel at Peter Baumann’s Paragon Studio in Berlin, the four tracks take us on a caustic,
dissonant mutant disco trip which has lost none of its fascination in the years since.
It gives us at Bureau B great pleasure to reissue this long lost work!

In 1974, Cluster entered the sugar era. This doesn"t mean that they had finally arrived in their promised land, but they had simply moved from Berlin to the country, to a small place called Forst on the river Weser. Many a thing had changed for band members Moebius and Roedelius since Cluster II: They had moved from boisterous Berlin to this calm rural village, they had founded the band Harmonia, had set up their own studio and had bought new equipment. Während das letzte, experimentellforschende und in viele Richtungen mäandernde Pop-Album "Die Gruppe Ja, Panik" (2021) ihr überraschendes Comeback nach siebenjähriger Kreativpause markierte, ist "Don"t play with the rich kids" nun so etwas wie ihre Rückkehr als RockBand. Als die Gang aus dem Burgenland, die sich spätestens seit "The Angst And The Money" (2009) in unser aller Herzen gespielt hat. Wir sehen Stefan Pabst, Sebastian Janata, Laura Landergott und Andreas Spechtl auf dem Cover-Foto sanft umhüllt von einem Tuch am Strand von Nirgendwo. Es hält die Band nach innen zusammen und weist gleichzeitig eine klare Grenze nach außen: Wir sind hier, und Du bist da! Und es scheint nahezu unmöglich, in diesen inner circle hineinzukommen. Eleganter lässt sich das weltweit grassierende Klassismus-Problem wohl kaum darstellen. wohl auch irgendwann einmal mit auf den Weg gegeben. Und das inzwischen ganz selbstverständliche Mitverhandeln der eigenen Privilegien scheint die Band in ihren neuen Songs regelrecht zu beflügeln. Denn diese Rich Kids sind schließlich auch sie selbst. Davon lässt sich selbstbewusst erzählen. Wobei das natürlich unbedingt im globalen Maßstab zu sehen ist. Wir alle wissen, was eine vierköpfige, linkspolitische Indie-Rock-Band zwischen Berlin und Wien mit ihrer Musik so verdient. Und auch wenn laut Spechtl nach wie vor "1.000 Kämpfe in seinem Körper kämpfen", von denen er nach eigener Feststellung keinen einzigen je gewinnen kann, scheint ihm seine neue Rolle als Zen-Rocker und selbsternannter Kung-Fu-Fighter umgeben von seinen alten Bandkolleg:innen in ausgezeichneter Form sehr gut zu tun. Elusive Italo duo Maurizio e Dandolo return with Demin, a dreamy disco dancer celebrating the iconography of 1980s Italian summer and the heydays of Italo Disco.

Unfolding over an equally suave and hard-hitting tapestry of synths and drum machine, Demin plays with the authors’ nostalgia for the hazy and sun-drenched summers on the Italian eastern coast of their hometown of Pescara.

Kerri Chandler and his Kaoz Theory imprint continues to move from strength to strength still after decades at the forefront of House music. In this ‘Lost & Found’ series, Chandler dives back into his vault to unearth forgotten gems and bring them into the limelight today. For this release, Kerri also revisits ‘Let It’ from his recent ‘Spaces and Places’ LP, reworking it with a new vocalist this time round, namely AbbieLee.

Kicking things off is new version of Let It (Give Me Back My Love), laid out across six minutes, employing shimmering Rhodes melodies, fluttering arpeggios, a bumpy bass groove and crisp drums intertwined with AbbieLee’s soulful vocal stylings. ‘Another Dawn (Vocal Mix)’ follows with jazzy, bruk-tinged drums, uplifting piano chords and pulsating subs running alongside enchanting vocal lines,On the flip-side, Kerri dives into more underground basement realms with the murky basstones, shuffled dusty drums and expansive reverberations of ‘The Bassline (Kerri’s DarkMix). ‘The Breeze’ then rounds out the EP with an electro tinged 808 jam, utilising the machines classic cowbell chimes, skippy snares, rumbling toms and thunderous kicks. "I and Donato always send each others the tracks we make and exchange feedbacks on what we do, but when He sent me this music for the first time for me it's been love at first listen in a way i had never experienced before with his music. i wasn't even thinking i would be the one to release it back then...i just totally fell in love with these tracks when i heard them and was overly excited to the idea of playing them out, that's it. The funny thing is that till now i have been the only one on this planet to play them, Donato himself hasn't played out any and i was reporting to him on a regular basis and almost in real time the reactions of the people on the dancefloor when i would drop Cleo as last track on my sets and on how people would fall in a state of total ecstasy (not the drug, but the state of mind) while listening and dancing to it...i would tell him: "Donato...i don't think you quite realise what you have done...this stuff is just something else, it's beyond...the people are just melting when i play it!". So these tracks have grown in me in a very personal and deep way, and despite the fact that they are of course made 100% by Donato i almost developed a sense of emotional ownership towards this music, not in a way that i claimed the right to release them...(i have actually never asked him to give them to me) but in a way that i was feeling these tracks so much, that my love for them almost became an extension of the tracks themselves...and i think at some stage he felt this himself and one day this summer after that, again, for maybe the 20th time, i told him how amazing it was when i played them in my last set at the time he just told me "I think it is right that you release them, Marco. they are for you, they belong to you"...so as far as i'm concerned these will always be forever my very own Dozzy tracks, and it's a real honor and and a landmark for me and for my label to be able to release this record."
