As we descend into winter and the end of 2019, an EP that, like the shorter, overcast days, is chilly and stark, yet accented with rays of sun that crack through the clouds, glints of starlight, full-moon rises. These five tracks—six for the digital version—come from Eluize, a Berlin-based Australian gifted at simmering minimal yet acerbic house potions over low heat, patiently coaxing them to a slow boil. Mischievous, creeping concoctions that approach and build sneakily, as layer upon layer is looped, expanded, condensed, dropped out, and slid back in. Each is a beautifully musical piece, too, with as much evolving melody as hypnotizing groove. An LPH soundtrack for nights that stretch on forever, lit only by blinking lights that break apart seas of heavy fog and slice between silhouetted bodies.

Night Tide founder Eluize returns to the label with her follow up to last year's debut release "Talk In Technicolour". Her latest five track sonic trip "For the Forgetful" follows 24 hours searching to be lost, finding comfort in the dance floor, time spent after hours and the day that follows. It seeks out soaring highs and sweeping lows covering all energies.
"Slate" opens. A deep offering, subtle and enthralling. Bright eyed keys, smooth strings, a snare that snaps and a swelling sub alludes to what's to come. The tale continues with "For the Forgetful", a hypnotic, punchy, deep house workout, alluring and sensual it beckons with whispered promises, abyssal toms, twisted pads and intricate percussion.
We go harder on the flip, ruthless, pushing, pulsing "The Blackout" shakes away any last doubt and drives the sojourn into the night along with memories you'll try to retrieve tomorrow. Eluize's take on techno, the bass pumps beneath a grinding acid line, interspersed with echoed bleeps and a cutting lead. The build continues. "Second Valley" is ecstatic. Deep house meets trance-esque undertones, for peak time moments or as the day breaks. Its cinematic soundscape speaks to Eluize's penchant for the theatric as classical instruments twist through synthetic sounds.
We close with "Rest (Refrain)" which brings back themes from the session had in an ambient context, mustering the mood of recovery, waking, confused in the gentle afternoon light, when memories and motifs from the night before linger on the mind in gentler forms.

Produced by label founder Eluize (Emma Sainsbury), the EP features three original tracks that showcase her unique sound. The release is rounded out by remixes from Hans Berg & Seth NK and a trippy spoken word recording discovered while digging in the archives.
'Make Me Sin' swells and flows. It's a rapturous tale awash with cascading musical ideas, hypnotic rhythmic elements and a driving bottom end. This introspective cut combines orchestral instrumentation with breathy vocals from Eluize herself that sing of the lure of things that make us feel good.
'Talk in Technicolor', the title track, is self-explanatory. It's a dreamy and melodic club cut that packs a surprising amount of punch. The vast palette of sounds and fine details give it a cinematic quality not often heard in music aimed at the dance floor. We recommend you close your eyes while listening - let your mind drift and see what soaring colours float into view.
On the B side, 'Up All Night' is a sub-driven slow down. Unhurried and uncluttered, key and string lines float through open space while gentle vocals slide into the landscape, reflecting on sunsets that turn into sunrises. Hans Berg reinterprets the piece into a powerfully deep techno storm. His version is a relentless and energetic pairing of synth lines that whip and scatter over the original's playful melodic refrains. In other words, a monster that presents a not-so-subtle call to rave.
In addition, a batch of thirty records will come with a limited edition cassette. The tape features a remix of 'Up All Night' by Seth NK, the master of all things lo-fi. His version is a sleazy re-imagining with trashy drums and murky tones that weave through the silt. Turn the tape over and you'll find a bizarre recording of a young woman describing an LSD-induced psychedelic experience.

mule musiq dives into the archives of humanoid ambient music history, bringing the vinyl premiere of a masterwork by german dj, producer, and musician david moufang, globally known as move d. released in 1995 on pete namlook’s fabled fax +49-69/450464 label, the album marks his only output as solitaire, featuring heroic, supple ambient music, that some folks call one of the best works by move d.
just three years before he dropped it, moufang launched with jonas grossmann the celebrated label source records, active from 1992 to 2005. it was the platform for his first move d album “kun-ststoff”, likewise released in 1995, highlighting diverse genres like techno, house, idm, ambient, electro, and downtempo.
“solitaire” works with pulsating rhythms, too. gentle ones, that cater sensations beyond the propel-ling dance sectors. a spiritual album. recorded at the resource studios/heidelberg in july/august 1994. it reaches out to higher ground, never leaving the sediment.
still state of the art. not a single melody, note, tone has aged. all sparkle, all innocence is still there, somewhere deep in the arpeggiated space, absorbing time. an exploratory early electronic work by an artist, who still had his most prolific years to come.

This is the last 12“ of the Pandemix Live Jams series. „Right About Now“ is built around a friendly Move D jingle dedication by Scott Grooves. A smooth flower with a breeze of calypso featuring live bass and guitar. After this gentle and rather uplifting opener, things get deeper with even more guitars and guitar synths. „The Bottom“ is a call for an end of the pandemic and the restrictions upon (night)life that came with it. Move D goes through some jazz inspired fusion modes on this one. Finally „The System Is…- Original First Take with E-Harp/Sitar“ offers the initial version of this song which was previously released on Smallville Records #57 featuring a second, more sparse mix. However, this original version is even more dreamy and introverted, but at the same time still a groovy little stomper with a steady techno pulse to close out this 12“ along with the whole set of 6 vinyl EPs.

Move D has seen a massive career over the years, starting with his early days as a German pioneer of House Music. In 1993 this was one of his first 12“ records on TIME UNLIMITED which was mostly known for Trance and Hard Trance. This surely is a cult record and has become highly sought after over the last ten years. Its unique style of sampling comined with an uplifting, basement style production is still mindbending and timeless. This reissue was remastered by David's long-term friend LOPAZZ for a full range sound experience.

This album initially started out as an entry for the Inside Out series on Aus - based around the idea of collaborations with his nearest and dearest but when David sent me the music and wrote a few new tracks there was such a cohesive, timeless feel to it as a body of work I decided that it had to be a stand alone artist album. These tracks have been written over a twenty year period and involve 6 people but it sounds like it was written in one sitting. This is testament to David's creative aesthetic and the closeness of the relationship with his collaborators as a common feeling of warmth and smudged soul oozes out of every poor of this record. Move D is a true legend in deep, house music. We own A LOT of his records. When we found the track 'Wanna Do' on the 50th Groove magazine cd full of exclusive tracks, we contacted him to ask if he would be interested in a vinyl release. The track was too good to be only available through that cd. So Move D sent a second - also really great - track along, and the result is what you're listening to at the moment. Vocal spectres float, as further elements are artfully woven into the mix. Perhaps most notably, some smooth guitar licks are provided by Juju (of Juju & Jordash). There’s a playful feel to ‘Things Will Come... (...for Those Who Wait)’ – a perfectly compact track which is somewhat reminiscent of early Herbert material with it’s flat kick drum and sample-based composition. The reclined groove of ‘Sur un Bateau avec Eric’ occupies the whole of the second side – evoking memories of a Summer now just out of reach. Eric D Clark whispers in French and wind chimes sound delicately, over a square wave bassline that animates the track for the dancefloor. The resident at Athens' multi-purpose cultural space Six D.O.G.S has not only been one of the scene's pivotal figures, but since he started to release his first solo releases in the mid-00s, the now Berlin-based Greek DJ has earned a reputation for being a trend-ignoring, unconventional producer.
Whether his output for BPitch Control, Rotary Cocktail, or even last year's debut EP "Rogue
Cherub" for AWAY - Mr. Statik enjoys thinking outside the box by crossing his diverse pop-cultural interests and pulling in expertise and perspective from beyond the usual functional formulas. After a decade of not staying in one comfort zone or sticking to one musical direction, he finds himself more comfortable in his producer shoes presenting his debut album "Metamorphose". Housing a few film references in this for Mr. Statik typical nebulous fashion, the ten tracks not only carrying the narrative potential of an imaginary score, but primarily exploring a versatile array of influences, themes, and contradictions (which Mr. Statik as an illustrator also united on the albums' artwork). Ranging from the sci-fi infused album opener "Insomnia", the first non-dancefloor piece he ever produced around 7 years ago, over "?atastrophe", an homage to ancient Greek theater, to collaborate with others such as Beatrice Ballabile, Jan Niklas Jansen (Locas In Love), and RBMA alumnus Claude Speeed, who contributed synth work on "Soulfur".
"Metamorphose" succeeds in constantly changing its tones, while maintaining an emotional
frame, in which Mr. Statik's melancholic, introvert, at times hopeful and euphoric, bottom end
inclined electronic music can elaborate.

"I have always tried to approach producing as storytelling exercises. This allowed me to
experiment finding myself in uncharted territories, more specifically in music that doesn't
necessarily fit to a dance floor - unless it's a very adventurous one. "Metamorphose'' is loyal to that mindset. I usually draw inspiration from cinema and comic books and have always been fascinated with sci-fi, south asian culture, surrealism and the dreamworld. Initially the album was supposed to be a collage of the various influences that had shaped my life, but ended up being something very different. During the conceptualization and recording process a lot of things around us have changed, primarily for the worse. I became more and more sensitive and susceptible to pessimism and trendy visions of "dystopian futurism", so that the LP emerged being an exercise in positivity: 'Metamorphose' is a verb describing the act of
conversion, but in Greeklish it is describes the urge towards others to start transforming their
environment, in this case for the better."

Starting off with an ingenious medley assembled through samples, rhythmic elements, and a funk-infused bass-line, "Rogue Cherub EP" highlights the Greek's unordinary approach on house music. Despite the partly broken, partly playful vibe it's Dave Aju's distinctive voice holding everything together in a serene fashion. No less than the acknowledged master Matthew Herbert himself scales the hybrid down, attaching just the right disco-house touches to create yet another dance floor gem. Despite the partly broken, partly playful vibe it's Dave Aju's distinctive voice holding everything together in a serene fashion. No less than the acknowledged master Matthew Herbert himself scales the hybrid down, attaching just the right disco-house touches to create yet another dance floor gem. "Morning Star" on the flipside tops off AWAY's fifth catalogue number by a well-crafted techno-meets-dub workout unfolding Mr. Statik's versatile core strengths as a producer.

For AI-38 Italian duo LF58 (Giuseppe Tillieci and Filippo Scorcucchi) present ‘Radials’. A site-specific concept piece that was recorded live on location in Venice, Radials showcases the powerful and transportive sound world which LF58 have become known for.
Radials takes its name from the homonymous exhibition created by the Roman artist group Sbagliato, for the 2023 Biennale Architettura of Venice.
Following a landmark renovation of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi by renowned Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, Sbagliato proposed the spatial transformation of the historic sixteenth-century building that would blur the lines between fiction and the real.
The concept, to create unexpected “voids” within the fixed order of architecture, prompts the observer to question the fleeting and subjective nature of the reality that surrounds us. The building’s main loggia - a series of five archways exposed to the Canal Grande - take on a theme of reproduction and multiplication, giving rise to infinite perspectives in a dizzying mise en abyme. Through the portal-like potentialities of the loggia, the visitor enters the gateway to a fluid realm of distorted time and space.
LF58 arose to translate the visual concept of Radials into sound, delivered through a special quadraphonic concert performed at the Fondaco dei Tedeschi in October 2023. Quadraphonics, with its four distinct audio channels, were used in direct correlation with the visual elements of the installation to immerse the audience in a dreamlike, multisensory experience.
The opening scene of running waters and the cacophony of the bustling city streets quickly dissolves under the chiming of nearby bells, as hidden liminal spaces become revealed. It’s not long before all remnants of the ordinary are left behind, as the listener is submerged into the shimmering frequencies of parallel dimensions.
A spatial soundscape of ever-moving forms and colours, Radials descends into ever-deeper waters. As the facade of what was once known falls away, a transportive journey of mind-body alterations begins.

The Dam Swindle curated compilation Heist Classics Vol. 02 delivers even more of the label’s biggest hits in a beautiful limited-edition package.
It’s safe to say that in it’s 10 years of existence, Heist Recordings has given us plenty of amazing music and has cemented itself as one of the key labels in today’s house scene. The first 3 compilations of this year have had an amazing response with radio and club tastemakers (re)discovering some of the best music that has come out on Heist. With support from Paul Woolford, Luke Slater, Antal, James Zabiela, Nightmares on Wax, a 10/10 in Faze Mag and various radio plays on BBC R1 with Pete Tong, Annie Mac and more, it’s safe to say that everyone has been loving these releases. Now, Dam Swindle conclude their 10-year anniversary releases with Classics vol. 2: a limited-edition collection with hits from Crackazat, Andy Hart, Kassian, Makèz and Nachtbraker.
The release kicks off with ‘Alfa’: Crackazat’s biggest hit to date (and that’s saying something, coming from a producer that has delivered jam upon jam in his career). It’s a signature Crackazat song with an off-kilter live key loop, shuffling percussion and pumping low end.
Andy Hart’s ‘Epsilon Girls’ was originally released in 2014 and has helped cement the artist and label’s position in the house music landscape. A vintage Barbara St. Clair loop gives the track a lovely human touch, which is countered by layers upon layers of glimmering electronics.
Different Planets is the track that really kickstarted the career of the talented duo Makèz. Released in 2019, the track has everything we’ve come to love from their recognizable sound: lively drums, catchy hooks and warm & jazzy chords. UK duo Kassian are represented on this package with their track ‘8th Movement’. Their sound has progressed towards techno in recent years which has given them support from artists across the board such as Ben UFO, Special Request and many more. Their Heist classic ‘8th Movement’ - still housey in its core - already has hints of their newfound style in its sound design and rolling energy.
We end the record with what might be Nachtbraker’s biggest track of his career: ‘Hamdi’. You’ll find him currently at work with artists such as Shanti Celeste where he recently released his Capichone EP, but the sound he developed in the early part of his career had Heist written all over it. ‘Hamdi’ is a proper anthem, with African drums, an ecstatic vocal sample and a killer groove.

When Solomun took his turn at remixing this Ibiza anthem, it was heard everywhere from Hackney warehouses to Pacha Ibiza, and showed a different side to the heavier original. Paranoid London, the electronic band of Gerardo Delgado and Quinn Whalley, has become synonymous with stripping acid house back down to its basics, rescuing the sound from smiley faces, rave, and sugary excess while paying respects to its gay, black, American roots. Performing mainly live with hardware only, often with vocal guests, as well as unique hybrid DJ sets, the duo has established a tongue in cheek, grumpy punk sound and attitude without taking it too seriously. Following 2019’s latest album PL and a bunch of 12” singles and edits, their new long-player Arseholes, Liars, and Electronic Pioneers refers to the cavalcade of c***s we find ourselves surrounded by. Our only respite being the joy that musical geniuses bring. The cover artwork and gatefold of the vinyl reflect this with a collage-like poster including personalities of all kinds, from politicians and royalty to music legends. When we asked them to highlight key music pioneers from their picks, they mentioned American electro don Aldo Marin, British producer Andrea Parker and Post Punk band WIRE. Inspired by early ‘90s British prog house on the likes of Sabres Of Paradise Records and Guerilla Records, the album presents a step up on their production while the anarchic attitude remains unaltered, unadulterated and undiluted. In Quinn’s words: the album has a slightly more Hi-Fi sound than previous efforts, but retains the urgency and punk rock attitude that we're known for. It was tested over the summer, where it lit up festival stages at Glastonbury, Houghton, Love International, and many, many others. As expected, PL has recruited a bunch of special guests on vocals including Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, US house veteran Monica “DJ Genesis” Lockett, the novo-New Romantic/gothic, Jennifer Touch, and Joe Love, from Fat Dog, Brixton’s current ones-to-watch. As well, previous collaborators Josh Caffe and Mutado Pintado return for new recordings. All bring something unique to the party, while integrating perfectly with PL’s Fuck you! circuitry.

Catharsis is Sven Väth's first solo album in almost 20 years, and the 50th album to be released on his incomparable label, Cocoon Recordings. Produced alongside Gregor Tresher, it arrives on 25 February 2022 and is a musical autobiography that charts Svens most extraordinary life in techno.
Without the West German-born Väth, techno would look, sound and feel very different. Since falling in love with electronic music and DJing in 1981, his dedication to the art has never faltered. He plays every party as if it were his last. His broad smile has connected with millions of people around the world. His colourful and curious character has imbued techno with a personality it was often lacking. His selections remain hugely unpredictable, despite the fact that he has been playing around the world for more than 40 years. To remain not only relevant but innovative after so long is a testament to Sven's ability to connect through music on a deeper level.
Technically, of course, he is a DJ who can play for thirty hours and not miss a beat. His track selections seem almost divine, and his aura is certainly otherworldly. But more than that, he is a ringleader who is able to mix the artful side of techno with the playful side of partying. Most famously he has done this for more than 20 years at his iconic Cocoon parties in Ibiza. They single-handedly introduced techno to the White Isle and have been its beating heart ever since. Under his charge, strict style guidelines and exaggerated pigeonholing no longer apply. Instead, he has perfected the art of playing far and wide while always remaining true to his own musical identity.
In the studio, Sven has always been just as unique. He has worked under several aliases but always brought a fresh perspective. Whether securing chart hits as part of OFF in the eighties, serving up brutalist techno and trance-tinged sounds in the nineties or crafting major label albums in the 2000s, his music has remained utterly forward-looking. That legacy continues with Catharsis as Sven teams up with highly respected producer Gregor Tresher for his latest long-form offering. Tresher has long been part of the Cocoon family and is a revered artist in his own right, when the two got together in the studio it was clear they had an instant connection and there would only be one person fit to co-author this LP.
It is a record inspired by Sven's interest in the physical and spiritual processes that take place when we dance. "They are realms into which we immerse ourselves to experience our own mysticism and ecstasy," he muses. "Dancing is a conversation between body and soul and it spiritually connects us with each other." Because of the pandemic, that is of course a feeling that we all missed out on for so long. "No dancing, no paradise!" says Sven. "My imagination for this record was fueled by the many cultural experiences and encounters I have had in my life. They gave me the strength to find a way, the way to myself." And that way to himself is through music, through purifying dancing rituals and the exchange of spiritual energies that are generated in the club.
The thirteen-track album explores all facets of Sven's sound. It opens with the stomping drums but sleek synths of 'What I Used To Play' and unfolds through deep and dirty rhythms like 'The Worm', subtly euphoric highs on 'The Inner Voice' and the bubbly tribalism of the title track. There is the impassioned call-to-arms that is 'Feiern', peak-time melodic workout 'Mystic Voices' and soothing electronic lullabies like 'Being In Love'. "With our thoughts, we make the world.? says Sven.
Then comes the moody reflection of 'Silvi's Dream', which was written in French for Sven's girlfriend. Last but not least we have the immersive dream that is 'Panta Rhei', which completes a trio of electronica tunes on the album. Ambient music has been an integral part on almost every album Sven has written because it can bring a certain emotional deepness, a quality that Sven always has been looking for.

Catharsis is Sven Väth's first solo album in almost 20 years, and the 50th album to be released on his incomparable label, Cocoon Recordings. Produced alongside Gregor Tresher, it arrives on 25 February 2022 and is a musical autobiography that charts Svens most extraordinary life in techno.
Without the West German-born Väth, techno would look, sound and feel very different. Since falling in love with electronic music and DJing in 1981, his dedication to the art has never faltered. He plays every party as if it were his last. His broad smile has connected with millions of people around the world. His colourful and curious character has imbued techno with a personality it was often lacking. His selections remain hugely unpredictable, despite the fact that he has been playing around the world for more than 40 years. To remain not only relevant but innovative after so long is a testament to Sven's ability to connect through music on a deeper level.
Technically, of course, he is a DJ who can play for thirty hours and not miss a beat. His track selections seem almost divine, and his aura is certainly otherworldly. But more than that, he is a ringleader who is able to mix the artful side of techno with the playful side of partying. Most famously he has done this for more than 20 years at his iconic Cocoon parties in Ibiza. They single-handedly introduced techno to the White Isle and have been its beating heart ever since. Under his charge, strict style guidelines and exaggerated pigeonholing no longer apply. Instead, he has perfected the art of playing far and wide while always remaining true to his own musical identity.
In the studio, Sven has always been just as unique. He has worked under several aliases but always brought a fresh perspective. Whether securing chart hits as part of OFF in the eighties, serving up brutalist techno and trance-tinged sounds in the nineties or crafting major label albums in the 2000s, his music has remained utterly forward-looking. That legacy continues with Catharsis as Sven teams up with highly respected producer Gregor Tresher for his latest long-form offering. Tresher has long been part of the Cocoon family and is a revered artist in his own right, when the two got together in the studio it was clear they had an instant connection and there would only be one person fit to co-author this LP.
It is a record inspired by Sven's interest in the physical and spiritual processes that take place when we dance. "They are realms into which we immerse ourselves to experience our own mysticism and ecstasy," he muses. "Dancing is a conversation between body and soul and it spiritually connects us with each other." Because of the pandemic, that is of course a feeling that we all missed out on for so long. "No dancing, no paradise!" says Sven. "My imagination for this record was fueled by the many cultural experiences and encounters I have had in my life. They gave me the strength to find a way, the way to myself." And that way to himself is through music, through purifying dancing rituals and the exchange of spiritual energies that are generated in the club.
The thirteen-track album explores all facets of Sven's sound. It opens with the stomping drums but sleek synths of 'What I Used To Play' and unfolds through deep and dirty rhythms like 'The Worm', subtly euphoric highs on 'The Inner Voice' and the bubbly tribalism of the title track. There is the impassioned call-to-arms that is 'Feiern', peak-time melodic workout 'Mystic Voices' and soothing electronic lullabies like 'Being In Love'. It is a beautiful journey through time and a true collector’s item.
