Fresh from delivering standout performances at Berlin’s renowned Panorama Bar and Amsterdam’s DGTL, Theo
Kottis presents his first solo release on Permanent Vacation, the sparkling ‘On Your Mind’ EP, released on 1
July (vinyl & digital).
The creation of the six tracks on ‘On Your Mind’ EP, provided moments of escapism for Theo Kottis, during the
depths of lockdown 2020. His nods to synth pop and italo fun, inspired by bands of the new wave era, are
intended to bestow upon the listener those same blissed out moments. There’s more to these tracks than meets
the ear, particularly stand out ‘On Your Mind’, the product of relentless pursuit. For Theo, the collaboration with
Permanent Vacation was long awaited and is a memorable mark within his thriving career.
Theo Kottis said: “Thrilled to finally share these tracks, I worked on them 2 years ago and was fortunate enough
to find them a home at Permanent Vacation, which has long been one of the labels I've admired most. As these
tracks were a solo lockdown project, I've loved collaborating with PV on the release - particularly the creation of
the vinyl. Next up - I can't wait to play them out IRL in parties this summer.”
Edinburgh-born and now London-based Theo Kottis is set for a big summer with a host of high profile worldwide
festival and club dates, with forthcoming dates including his Beautiful Strangers label Off Sonar showcase party in

Running Back welcomes Firas Waez and his studio character 9th House for a flock of heartfelt and intuitive house tracks. Centered around uplifting chords and joyous melodies, upbeat drums and shuffling hi-hats, it feels like being in a circle dance, watching flowers turning into fruits or caterpillars into butterflies.

Made with the tools of today, but with a burdening love for the ancient magic and positivity of this music. The results being highly contagious. Whether its any of the 9th House’s solo works like Reuben or the collaboration with Matrefakt, it’s impossible to hold still. But as no one can live off love alone, there is also an odd one out. The eponym Midas swaps vintage techniques and the love potion of its counterparts for sharp and exact peak-time magic that makes endorphins rush and cheeks blush. Whichever you finally pick of the five tracks, any of them are an amulet against bad times. A Midas’ touch indeed! External assessment vs. self-conception by Robag Wruhme: "People always think, I'm that serene and quiet guy, but actually I'm quite a noisemaker." Could be that the majority of the material he put out in recent years, most notably the "Thora Vukk" album, led to the overall apprehension of Robag being the virtuoso of everything subtle, enigmatic and tenderly melodic. Well, that's far from being a misconception, but still just one side of the coin. The other side is embossed with his most current productions, consolidated to a double EP, captioned with the enchanting name "Wuzzelbud FF".

Wait a second ... "Wuzzelbud"? Devoted fans will instantly prick up their ears. We've heard that before. Back in 2004 Robag Wruhme released his first longplayer named "Wuzzelbud 'KK'". As there's no such scenario Robag might be running out of stream-of-consciousness turned nonsense titles for his music, this must be a vocabulary intersection linking the early days of his career with its status quo. And it is. Wruhme presents "Wuzzelbud FF" as the stylistic follow-up to his debut album, showcasing a sound he commits has been neglected for too long. Wruhme cuts to the chase: "I wanted to put out some straightforward music for the dancefloor, something for the primetime. Well, for the primetime of my sets, at least."

And that agenda is written all over most of this double EP's material. Not so much over the tongue in cheek intro or some of its interludes. But "Veddel Bav" as the first centre-piece of this collection sets the pace already. Don't fall for Wruhme's signature artistry of evoking groove out of micro-sampling while this track is building up. It'll be bulldozed by a bass heavy kick and off-beat hi-hat-lashes soon enough. An insanely well balanced composition of accurately placed details and thumping massiveness, that is.
A layout that's elaborated even further on the title track you'll find opening the B-side. In-field recorded patterns, courageous delay-implementation, a take no prisoners mentality when it comes to prep this for the peaktime, a super simple yet super effective bassline (or rather -note), a buzzing and twanging percussive overload bound to what's usually known as 'a banger'.
Get some rest with "Tisma", a rather spaced out jam and then prepare to be shaken thoroughly by "Provol Eto", the cowbell decorated, synthbass fueled epitome of heaviness in this set of tunes. Safe to say, this adds to the most functional and relentless material, Wruhme has ever written.
No breathing pause granted, as "Maiowu" speeds up to utter D'n'B frenzy or as Wruhme himself describes it to a "sounddesign that's cut from rhythm" - a recourse to his mid 90ies rule denying, almost anarchic approach to production.
The final re-introduction of a straight kick then opens side D. "Wabb Bodun" - that's yet another no-frills, engine-room located stomper, inspirited and strengthened by rhythmic shifts and crisp tweaking alone. Well, and a sneezer. An in-the-red powerhouse that calls for an alleviation like the ambient farewell kiss "Ausgang". An assembly of textures that sets a peaceful conclusion to an energetic and mostly high-revving journey

Get Physical strides into its 21st year with a reissue of one of its most iconic tunes. M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka
Shade's 'Body Language' has been remastered for the occasion and will be available on vinyl, as well as
digitally and on streaming platforms for the first time ever, with new remixes from HOSH and Patrice
Bäumel.

M.A.N.D.Y. aka Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung, and Booka Shade, aka Walter Merziger and Arno
Kammermeier, are Get Physical co-founders alongside DJ T., and 'Body Language' is one of the label's, as well
as dance music's, biggest ever tunes. Released in 2005, it defined an entire generation of house music and
spawned myriad copycats in its wake as well as making household names of the artists behind it. It became an
instant classic that worked as well in cosy clubs as it did on festival main stages and it has remained an
ever-green house anthem. The influential track has been sampled many times over the years but nothing beats
the original.
The chunky house drums still sound from the future today, with fleshy hits and warming bass. What makes it such
a standout track, though, is the gorgeous melodic hook that rides up and down the scale. Those soft focus notes
are full of subtle but playful soul that never fails to unify a crowd, bring smiles to faces, and get hands in the air.
The first to remix is acclaimed German artist Patrice Bäumel. He is a master of stylish and deep house and techno
with expressive synth work on labels like Kompakt and his own HALO. His superb version is a complete overhaul
with deeper drums and a sense of late-night tension that is released in glorious fashion when the iconic melody
comes in. It's the sort of tune that is suited to 4 am dance floors and will take things to the next level. The second
remix comes from fellow German HOSH. For many years a core part of the Diynamic family he is also the founder
of the fryhide imprint and an assured underground talent. He layers in some fresh and airy breakbeats to power
along an expansive remix. After a long and atmospheric build with plenty of cosmic synth work, the original
melody arrives during a breakdown and then plays out over the suspensory grooves.
This is a superb package that brings a widely loved favourite back to the fore with contemporary remixes and a
fresh remaster.
