On 22nd October, the Nottingham-raised and highly-praised musician/DJ/producer Matt Cutler, AKA Lone, presents his 8th album – and first in 5 years – ‘Always Inside Your Head’. It marks two major changes, with both a new label and new approach – featuring vocalists for the first time. This deeply textural and ethereal artwork is situated high above the clouds, amidst the heavens, occupying a stratospheric state where swathes of synthesized vapour and azure rays sound like a literal breath of fresh air. A varied selection of music influenced the record, but two main influences were Cocteau Twins and My Bloody Valentine. “I wanted to approach a range of different styles, but attack them from their angle in a way, so for example on 'Inlove2' I tried to imagine what a Balearic / acid house tune might sound like if it were produced by Kevin Shields”, comments Lone. Another key example of Cutler’s strange but successful combination of elements is the halcyon bliss of ‘Echo Paths’, where his trademark fat drums and love for hip hop meet double-time pan pipes, dub effects and dream pop, mixed into a wonderfully lysergic concoction. In addition to the above, the LP exists somewhere between trip hop on Mo' Wax, 90s Warp, intelligent drum & bass and ambient house. There are heavier forays too, like ‘Mouth Of God’, where darker clouds emerge, but are pierced like acid lightning with fierce, tearing tech-step bass. Although still firmly rooted in club culture – here Lone shows a definite leaning towards a song-based sound, with several tracks edging towards the same crossover space as the nineties hits which also inspired him – particularly William Orbit’s production on Madonna's 'Frozen', and Olive's 'You're Not Alone'. This is especially evident on the bright, spacious brilliance of 'Hidden By Horizons', where vocals and synths swirl around one another, with crisp breakbeats and reggae rolls pushing purposefully through the ether. Despite initially seeming almost entirely sunny of disposition, upon deeper immersion there’s lot more beneath the album’s surface, both in its deep pools of immiscible layered elements, and also thematically. When recording Cutler kept in mind a loose narrative based on birth, death, and our existence in-between. He then extended this idea to reach what may happen after death, which is reflected in the sequencing: By penultimate track ‘Undaunted’ the life reflected in this longplayer has come to an end, which is then followed by 'Coming In To Being And Passing Away' – an afterlife epilogue, which evokes a transition from this world to the next.

Lone returns to Greco-Roman with a two track 12” of some of his finest work to date. A’-side Waterfall Reverse’ is an ecstatic hardcore song that ascends into a utopian dream. Lone - Echo Paths (Ebb and Flow)
Following widespread acclaim for his recent LP ‘Always Inside your Head’, on March 4th / April 8th Matt Cutler AKA Lone releases four re-works of tracks from the album, entitled ‘Natural Aerials’. On ‘Natural Aerials (Mouth of God Part Two)’, Lone utilises a similar sound palette as album track ‘Mouth Of God’, but rebuilds it into a brand new banger. Energetic, deep, trancey and driven by jungle-schooled breakbeats, with bassbin shuddering low-end, he delves deeper into the vortex. Whereas the album was made predominantly using software, Cutler has since been buying hardware – and this marks the first track made on these newly acquired synths. Based around a version from Lone’s recent sold-out live show at London’s Village Underground, on ‘Inlove2 (One Thirty Mix)’ he ups the original’s BPM count, with sights set firmly on the dancefloor. Taking cues from the ‘Ambivert Tools’ series, this is a high-grade, proggy, main room acid rush. On ‘Visited By Astronauts (SHERELLE Had A Groove Remix)’, the fast-rising star takes an ambient interlude from the album, and gives it what she calls “a space age, footwork jungle twist”. Her first released remix, Sherelle continues an impeccable purple patch, with a re-rub that’s both airy and light, but also heavily percussive, full of propulsive forward motion. She states, "it’s a pleasure and honour to remix for Lone, as being a long time fan, it's a beautiful thing to be able to collaborate. I really wanted my first remix to be special and also for someone who I hugely admire, so Matt asking me to be involved in this process wastruly magical!” ‘Echo Paths Ebb And Flow’ takes a downtempo album highlight, strips it back to just the synths, then unfurls them into a blissful ambient work that’s melodic, warm and fuzzy, swaddling the listener in candy floss clouds.

A1 - Saturday Night (DJ-Kicks)
B1 - Arc
B2 - Alpha Wheel 4 (Ambient Mix)
Following on from his intimate entry into the DJ-kicks mix series, Lone is putting out a vinyl only EP of all the unreleased tracks from it.
The horizontal mix tapped into all of Lone's influences, from hip-hop to house, IDM to techno. It also showcased some producers signed to his own Magic Wire label, and of course the back bone was built from some of the Nottingham man's freshest new productions. They come after celebrated releases on Werk Discs, R&S and Dekmantel, and include dance floor aligned EPs and more rounded full lengths designed for close listening. Here he sits in between the two across three thrilling cuts.
Opener 'Saturday Night' is a breezy bit of deep house with crisp boom-baps and swirling pads that lend it a dreamy, ethereal feel. Spoken word snippets are stitched into the groove and the whole thing is as frictionless and feel good as house comes.
Next up, 'Arc' is a little more direct, with scattered snares flapping over dry wooden kicks. It's a punchy bit of house latest DJ-kicks mix star Kerri Chandler would be proud, and comes overlaid with spring time flutes and luscious pads as a classically inclined bassline powers things along.
Last but not least is 'Alpha Wheel 4' (Ambient Mix), a kaleidoscopic passage of suspensory sound scuffed up glassy surfaces trapping you in rays of refracted light from start to finish.
All three tracks exhibit Lone's authentic, lived in and lo-fi aesthetic, and as a result slip perfectly into his ever more essential discography.

Following Lone AKA Matt Cutler’s stunning sixth album ‘Levitate’s hallucinogenic joyride through breakbeats, he returns to R&S with ‘Ambivert Tools’ the first in a series of EPs for the floor returning to hypnotic 4/4 excursions. Inspired in no small part by the rich seam of house that he’s been excavating with his fine Magicwire imprint, a refreshed Cutler delivers an EP stacked with sure-fire bullets, crafted for his intoxicating DJ sets.
First up is ‘Crush Mood’ - crunching drums, lush resampled chords and dulcet female vox combine into a heady, peak-time rush. ‘Chroma' comes off like a lost 90s anthem, with its shimmering vibes, airy chords and bumpy rhythm track. B-side closer ‘From A Past Life’ could well be the strongest track on the EP - hazy Emulator ii chords, spiral arpeggios, gooey bass and woozy african percussion that finds Lone digging deeper into some of his more esoteric House music influences. 'Ambivert Tools' finds Cutler a true master, at the top of his game - taking all he’s learned over his many years of beat exploration and condensing it down into rugged house stacked full of nagging melody / harmony that elegantly pays tribute to bygone years whilst simultaneously feeling fresh and vital to 21st century dance floors. Lone AKA Matt Cutler presents his 6th album 'Levitate' - which marks a point of departure from the inviting warmth of 'Reality Testing's blend of hip hop and house - the listener is taken on a rapid joy ride through breakbeats that at times will leave them gasping. Following previous album 'Reality Testing' (and it's all conquering single 'Airglow Fires'), Cutler was left at somewhat of a musical impasse - a 6 month dry period with no new inspiration that was showing no signs of abating. The 'epiphany' moment came in New York. Bed ridden and feverish for days Cutler started to hallucinate "It was prett y terrifying - I'd try to go to sleep and I'd be hearing mad rave tunes form in my head. When i recovered i was left with all these ideas for fast, feverish tunes. Following that we went to LA and hung out with friends, driving round all day in the baking sun playing jungle and hardcore edits - all the best bits from rare jungle tunes spliced together. There was something that really seemed to fit hearing these energetic tracks whilst speeding around LA under perfect blue skies, that was amazingly similar to music I'd been dreaming up whilst in New York. I couldn't wait to get home and start putting this together - I had a new theme." The result is an incredible 9 track LP, a breakneck psychedelic journey through hardcore, jungle, ambient, clocks in at a fat-free 34 minutes.

Airglow Fires' is the first new Lone material to emerge since his masterful 'Galaxy Garden' album, his most complete body of work to date.
Departing from the themes of the rave/hardcore revival and cinematic interstellar travel, 'Airglow Fires' sees him exploring a more considered and intimate sound alongside a rediscovered love of classic hip-hop, as he explains "I love hip hop and house music when it's at it's rawest - to me 'Airglow Fires' has that kind of 90's basement vibe to it, where the lines between the two genres are kind blurred". As a comeback single, 'Airglow Fires' has certainly been worth the wait - arriving just in time to surely nestle its way into all discerning DJ's record boxes this summer - from the opening celestial melodies to the insistent processions of jazz inflected chords dance around the crunchy proto house drums that shuddering sub bass it's obvious that this track has golden sunshine in its DNA. On the flip 'Begin To Begin' explores similar territory to 'Airglow Fires' but wears its charms in a more subdued, but no less infectious manner - a repeating hypnotic chord stab, draped with burbling synth melodies and yet more tough drums combine for a sumptuous and mesmeric listen - as the song says "am I dreaming? am I awake" - with music like this to soundtrack your dreams, who would want to wake up? Hot on the heels of their recently released label compilation We Make Colourful Music Because We Dance In The Dark, and an EP from new talent TCTS, London via Berlin collective Greco-Roman get set to release ‘Our Town’ by letthemusicplay featuring Kate Tempest Remixes on December 9th 2013. Starting out as a teen rapper in Lewisham and now hailed by The Guardian as “one of the brightest British talents around”, 27 yearold South London spoken word phenomenon Kate Tempest has been causing a stir at poetry slams and performances up and down the UK, from Glastonbury festival to the Edinburgh Fringe. This year saw her self-penned performance piece Brand New Ancients claim the Ted Hughes Award for innovation in poetry – making her the first person under 40 to do so – and shortly after her victory she was one of eight poets commissioned to perform at the Hayward Gallery’s Light Show in London. While Brand New Ancients saw Tempest backed by an orchestra, on ‘Our Town’ she join forces with letthemusicplay, two enigmatic London-based beat-makers who craft a punchy UK house backdrop to more than match her pneumatic words, with fizzing synth bursts and ping pong beats peppering exhortations to spend the afternoon in bed with three bottles of wine, to drink ‘til the sun
comes up and stagger through alleyways. With echoes of fellow urban poets The Streets and Gil Scott–Heron, ‘Our Town’ is a paean to loved-up nights in the city, drunken confessionals and post-rave sunrises narrated by one of the UK’s fiercest voices. ‘Our Town’ Remixes is released on December 9th via Greco-Roman, backed with remixes from none other than Lennie De Ice, the man responsible for the 90's track "We Are I.e" which is often considered to be one of the first Jungle records. Whilst our very own Joe Goddard gives "Our Town" his unique dub treatment. Rounded off very nicely indeed with a fantastic Sister Bliss vs I Said No Dancefloor Dub!!! More

This Autumn the most prolific label in the game, Greco-Roman, keeps on giving as they announce an EP from rising Manchester DJ/producer TCTS aka Sam O’Neill. The respected London collective will release ‘These Heights’ on November 25th TCTS first came to attention with his debut EP ‘Hands’ on the Cool Kid Music label, and following the success of that release Bondax snapped up his underground hit ‘1997’ for their fledgling
imprint Just Us. The track soon landed on the BBC Radio 1 playlist with support from key protagonists including Huw Stephens, Nick
Grimshaw and Annie Mac, and led to Sam appearing at some of the major summer festivals this year including Glastonbury, Leeds
and Secret Garden Party, alongside shows throughout the UK, Ibiza and across Europe. Now TCTS follows in the hallowed footsteps of Greco alumni Disclosure, Joe Goddard, Roosevelt and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs as he gets ready to release a stunning EP next month. Across 4 exquisite tracks ‘These Heights’ showcases his signature blend of a house aesthetic married with lush synth work and on point percussion, making it arguably his most important and arresting release to date. Title track ‘These Heights’ melds unique, irresistible vocals from 18 year-old BRIT School wunderkind Shivum Sharma with fizzing synth pulses and an insistent beat, while ‘Over’ does melancholy club music to a tee and features the sensational vocals of Holly Partridge (daughter of XTC’s Andy Partridge, fact fans). Joining them are ‘90s tinged piano house number ‘Lose Control’ and cheeky closer ‘Do It Alright’ which keeps the momentum up to the very end. Remixes come courtesy of Kry Wolf, Detroit Swindle and Greco-Roman Soundsystem. Catch TCTS DJ alongside a Greco-Roman flavored line-up on November 8th at London’s legendary Fabric with TEED, Roosevelt and more including secret special guests. Head to the Fabric site for further details: http://www.fabriclondon.com/club/listing/824 2013. More

Taking us deeper into the night are the four remixes: London veteran Seiji fuses house and garage for a 6 minute roller, DFA’s Juan Maclean delves into his deep house roots with his new Peach Melba project, London duo Compound One pay homage to Gabriel’s UK garage roots with sweet old school 2 step and Hyperdub’s Ossie turns in a decidedly trippy UK Funky hybrid.

Greco-Roman welcomes a new artist to its camp: following some first appearances at the collective’s local events, London-based producer Enchante will soon release his debut EP North End there, while playing the next Berlin label night this Saturday with Azari & III (DJ set) and others at Picknick. And the new material perfectly fits into the usual Greco-diversity: opening track “Ego” offers deep UK garage, while “Reggay” (despite its name) comes in as the finest skweee-2step we have heard in a long while.

TEED's sound swings between overt musicality and scarily on-point dance floor intuition, tearing up gigs around the globe with his live show of bizarre instruments, glitter cannons and of course… dancing dinosaurs. Beautiful blip and blop intro, touching vocals, and scathing drum beat break is the makeup of Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaur’s track, Household Goods. This is seriously good remix EP Featuring mixes from Justin Martin, Lone & 2 Bears. DJ support from Erol Alkan, Annie Mac & Tayo.

Hackman, - Satisfy
This is the one. This is the summer tune of 2011. Skream Annie Mac & Nick Grimshaw have all been building the hype Hackman's epic title track Close. Probably one of the best pieces of, bass driven vocal dance music this year. Cheekily sniping the Alicia Keys acapella from 'No One' and employing the pitching down technique Hackman compliments the vocal riff with layers of heavily clapped out garage breakbeats, and tops it off with a euphoric, futuristic grime bassline that rolls out like an Atlantic breaker. It's not just close, it's perfect - and it's another effortlessly curated release from Greco-Roman

Anatolian Weapons - Horizons
The Athenian producer Aggelos Baltas alias Anatolian Weapons captures on the album Earth the feeling of an optimistic future that grows on the soil of the sweet bitterness of the present and the past.
Under his pseudonym Anatolian Weapons, Baltas combines polyrhythmic percussion and wailing tones of Greek folk music with a thrilling and open Krautrock attitude. The album Earth takes us on a mystical journey through the northern Greek highlands, backed by Baltas’ unique machine-assisted folk, infused with psychedelic drones and exuding an aura that is neither then nor now, neither there nor here. Instead, it exists in a small pocket of its own cosmos. A crossroads of dimensions. A mystical offering to nature and the divinities.
Baltas has explored and reframed various Greek scenes of yesteryear in the past, such as with his Fantastikoi Hxoi project, which created Krautrock mutations from 60s and 70s pop, but Earth is an even more far-reaching expedition. It is a folk reckoning with ancient Greek musical traditions with a modern upgrade. The album reconstructs a sonic narrative of ancient traditions, enhanced with psychedelic and space-rock elements. In the reverb cycle, one hears a certain agrarian reinterpretation of the world, filled with harvest rituals and celestial incantations.
It is with great pleasure to welcome Anatolian Weapons to the label. During a longer stay in Athens, a friendship developed that led to a variety of musical projects and ideas. One of them is the release of the album Earth. More

4
Seamus Haji & Phebe Edwards - - Better Come Again
Big Love boss Seamus Haji commits four of the label’s freshest releases to wax for the third edition of ‘A Touch Of Love’. Opening the compilation are two releases from London-based deep house duo Saison, starting with the feel-good house track 'Spark It Up' featuring Miss Patty. This anthem of manifestation is the perfect fit for Big Love, with its uplifting message of self-worth resonating over a deep and lively bassline. Next up, Saison take Mike Dunn’s ‘It’s A Groove Thing’ and give the classic disco-cut a club-ready spin. On the flip, Big Love shines a spotlight on Seamus Haji, with the Art of Tones NYC Remix of ‘I Walk Alone (For Your Love)’ made in collaboration with Those Guys. Rounding out the collection is the label boss’s soul-steeped single ‘Better Come Again’ featuring London’s Phebe Edwards, exuding a timeless energy that is quintessentially Big Love.

East Coast Love Affair - Can You Deal (feat. Quiet Storm)
2023 Starts with a doubler sided disco action from East Coast Love Affair - Taking the vocal from obscure Minneapolis lo-fi band 'Quiet Storm' master tape (Big up Numero Group) and building a whole new deep disco 45. 'Get Down' is deep dance floor chugger using the O.G studio gear that would have been used at the time, strictly analog business. On the flip, 'Can You Deal' is a more uptempo boogie joint. Both killers as always. Lots more from ECLA this year!!

Info
WRWTFWW Records is very pleased to present Home Decor, the sixth full length album from New York born, Los Angeles based ambient / jazz / downtempo musician Danny Scott Lane, available in a limited edition vinyl (500 copies worldwide) housed in a heavy 350gsm sleeve with an artwork from 3D virtual designer Lucas Barbuzzi, as well as in digital format.
Danny Scott Lane’s heartwarming 10-track affair is its very own kind of nostalgia-tinted modern chill out music, a silky cocktail of 80s synths and exotica seduction gently carried by Matt Elliot Gooden’s sensuous saxophone. Dare we say ambient smooth jazz? Add hints of italo, minimalism, and fusion, and you there you have it: Home Decor, a perfect soundtrack for cozy situations, one last drink on the balcony, strolls by the beach, relaxing, thinking back, possibly even gardening and cooking something delicious.
Highlights such as "Champagne Spill", "Baby’s First Balcony" and "Twin Bed" are not to be missed and should allow for a bit of (well-deserved) breathing in the tumultuous times the world is going through. Home Decor, indeed a rare gem to soothe the mind, body and soul.
Points of interests
- For fans of ambient, smooth jazz, minimalism, exotica, saxophone, comfy pleasures, slow cooked meals, and seducing cocktails.
- Limited edition vinyl of Danny Scott Lane’s sixth full length album featuring saxophone by Matt Elliot Gooden and an artwork by 3D virtual designer Lucas Barbuzzi.

*Special Edition Reissue of Potatohead People's critically acclaimed 2020 album "Mellow Fantasy" pressed on beautiful blue & black splatter vinyl*
Potatohead People's much lauded and instantly sold out third LP Mellow Fantasyis back with a very limited edition black & blue swirl vinyl repress. The album showcases the trademark instrumental prowess of the duo and their ease with the loose but hard-hitting drum style brought to the fore by Jay Dee's influential productions, but goes well beyond basic boom bap bread and butter, with singer-centered R&B and uptempo bumps sharing the stage. On this album, Potatohead People have widened the frame of their progressive musical vision and deliver a far-reaching yet approachable set of moods and grooves. On Mellow Fantasy, they had some impressive inspiration. De La Soul immediately connected with "Baby Got Work," a sophisticated slap that went through several iterations before settling into its ultimate form. Appropriately, the song's diligent construction echoes the ethic of the grind in the clear-eyed, precisely dovetailed lyrics fans have come to expect from the Daisy Age don. Befitting Potatohead People's origins as a hip-hop group, cameos from Illa J and Slum Village's T3 on the summertime teaser "What It Feels Like" and Vancouver veteran Moka Only (the sassy, vanity take-down "Ungodly") add to the unimpeachable rap bonafides. Searchlight Moonbeam is the new narrative compilation from Time Is Away (Jack Rollo and Elaine Tierney) whose eponymous monthly NTS Radio shows, tinctured fusions of fugitive sounds and reverie-inducing archival speech, have won them an ardent following. It follows from the London-based duo’s Ballads, a remarkable driftwerk released on A Colourful Storm in 2022.
Searchlight Moonbeam is an autumnal dreamscape, intimate and vespertine, pensive and irresolute. An imagined community where differences drop off and resonances emerge – between Maher Shalal Hash Baz affiliates Kasumi Trio, Taiwanese score composer Chen Ming Chang whose ‘Rainwater’ (written for Hou Hsiao-Hsien’s 1986 film Dust In The Wind) is exquisitely heartbroken, and the plangent improvisations of self-taught French pianist Delphine Dora.
Revelations are frequent: the bedsit isolationism of Bo Harwood and John Cassavetes’ ‘No One Around to Hear It’ (from The Killing of a Chinese Bookie); the narked minimalism of Klang (an early 2000s band formed by ex-Elastica guitarist and featuring prize-winning experimental novelist Isabel Waidner on bass); the etude-grooves and echoic wobble of below-the-radar French avant-gardists Omertà ; the beautiful, plaintively dubby ‘Is It You?’ by Slapp Happy; a psych-tinged reimagining of PiL’s ‘Poptones’ by Simon Fisher Turner (one half of Deux Filles, and here, recording for él as The King of Luxembourg) that's as perverse as the cover of Throbbing Gristle’s 20 Jazz Funk Greats.
Searchlight Moonbeam is the musical analog of an Italo Calvino novel or a medieval fable. Associative, intuitive, borderless. Emotional and mysterious. Endowed with the tactility of Braille. A private language that is both unknowable and understood. It is a record of the seasons, for the seasons.
2023 marks the tenth anniversary of Time Is Away’s first broadcast. Featuring an evocative essay by writer Jeremy Atherton Lin and disarming cover art by Penny Davenport, Searchlight Moonbeam showcases Rollo and Tierney’s still-unrivalled talent for gloaming melodies, disques du crépuscule, ensorcelled storytelling.

Double LP bundle, featuring both Pt. 1 & Pt. 2 EPs served in a PVC sleeve w/ sticker. Changing Channels is the new album from Pangaea, AKA Kevin McAuley, his first since 2016's acclaimed debut LP In Drum Play and a jolting reminder that functional doesn't mean complacent. The seven tracks here are galloping, infectious and hypnotic, capturing Pangaea's skill at constructing bangers that reflect an innate experimental tilt without sacrificing impact. Tested across his international DJ sets, and developed during a healing period of introspection, these cohesive tracks attack and retreat with an urgent and emphatic focus on the dancefloor, and a precision so undeniable as to seem predestined.

Short info:
Strangelove is proud to present the first ever reissue of 'Syguira Lady', an eerie and absorbing ride through the rich imagination of enigmatic Osaka group Viola Renea. While riding the current interest in Japanese music, the album remains an anomaly to much of the local music of the time. Juxtaposing ancient/modern sources of sonic inspiration, North England's new musical movements collide with Eastern European folk rhythms, while oriental scales slide amongst wavey-electronic instrumentation. The resultant musical dreamscapes sought to conjure themes of noir & seduction, recurrent in the period's techno-pop. Kuki Imamura described the album as the sound of unknown memories with aural visions & strange musical loves coalescing around a femme fatale; 'Syguirian Lady' More
