It follows part one, released in April of this year, which saw him team up with ADMN, Austin Ato, and APROPOS and featured a remix from Brian Kage. With the first part winning support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Nightmares On Wax, and Dam Swindle, this next EP continues with an equally promising cast behind the wheel, as Dollar brings in Brillstein and Harvard Bass for more irresistible house funk across three tracks in part two. First up on the ‘Contemporary Part Two’ EP, Jesse Rose, Diplo and Switch collaborator Brillstein joins Oliver Dollar for ‘Pill Popper’, a real dancefloor-igniting underground cut with an unforgettable hushed vocal over infectious rhythms. It is followed by Oliver Dollar and Harvard Bass’ ‘Funky Brewster’, which sees the Tuskegee, Relief Records, and Turbo artist complement Oliver’s house style with signature jackin’ flair. A repeating vocal and hard-hitting drum beat keep centre in this party anthem before Dollar flies solo for ‘Funked Up’, in which a low-slung groove and dreamy, chopped-up vocal work in harmony before breaking down into a jazz-inflected midsection, making for the perfect outro to a fantastic two-part series on Radio Slave’s Rekids. For the first track on the ‘Contemporary Part One’ EP on Rekids, Oliver Dollar joins forces with studio wizard ADMN, a musician, TV Lounge resident, Infolines label owner, and affiliate of Carl Craig's Planet E, among many more top labels. Their brilliant 'Before You' featuring Apropos is a soul-drenched house cut with a classic vibe and an irresistible sense of soul thanks to its smooth vocals. The warm synths light up the loose-limbed groove and ensure a good time.

Oliver Dollar and versatile Scottish producer Austin Ato then serve up 'Portamento Track' for the ‘Contemporary Part One’ EP, an uplifting house gem with serene strings adding a touch of class to the impassioned vocal and disco-tinged groove. Last but not least, Detroit mainstay and Michigander label head Brian Kage remixes Oliver Dollar's 'Strings 4 Life', a track from Dollar’s previous EP on Rekids of the same name and which won the support of Paul Woolford, Honey Dijon, Nightmares On Wax and many more. Oliver Dollar debuts on Rekids with disco-fuelled three tracker, ‘Strings for Life’ EP. Initially appearing on Rekids as a remixer in 2012, Berlin-based Oliver Dollar returns to Radio Slave’s imprint with the Spring-time funk of his ‘Strings for Life’ EP this April. The rich, stirring strings of the title track open ‘Strings for Life’ with real soul. Warm, euphoric and built atop a rocksteady discoid groove, it’s a track that’s familiar, new and classic all at the same time. ‘School Daze’ follows with rhythmic shakers, funk-infused chopped guitar and bass licks while nifty vocal samples and cosseting chords provide the hooks. Closing out is ‘Sophisticated Funk’ which sees Dollar double down on the disco with an epic, emotive beatdown. More

Following the stunning digital outing, Oliver Dollar’s ‘Another Day Another Dollar’ now has its long-awaited vinyl release, spread across two EPs. This adventurous artistic statement from one of house music’s most vital names shows off a wider breadth and depth of sound than ever before in his Classic Music Company debut. Using the longer format as a way of expressing different styles, from blues to disco, house to downtempo, the album was in the works for six years. Oliver linked with some of house music’s most essential names, from Ben Westbeech to Matthew K, Daniel Steinberg to Nils Ohrmann via Sqim. The album has now been split over two vinyl EPs, with Part 1 formed of a five-track selection that commits some of the highlights of the album to wax. Opening the A-side is the dreamy piano house of ‘The Delta’ followed by the instrumental-laced bouncing house of ‘Testified’. On the flip, the B-side opens with the filtered funk of ‘Jam Hot’, followed by the mood-setting and funk-laden ‘Space Is That Place’. Closing the EP is an interlude of ‘Party Together’ that perfectly rounds off this blissful release. More

7'' edition of the 1977 produced title track ''Badala Zamana'' by Algerian singer Zohra, with extended version on the flip! Check!

Born in 1950 near Constantine and raised on a parental diet of traditional Arabic music, Zohra quickly took up singing and playing the guitar and kept doing so after she and her family moved to the North of France. Playing gala events and receptions during her first years in France it took an encounter with multi-talented instrumentalist, composer, arranger and conductor Joël Hannierto take her into the world of recorded music. Joël Hannier’s experience in writing and interpreting music for ballets, television, orchestras and a vast array of French and international musicians made sure their collaboration – sung in a Berber dialect – was destined for success. The title track ‘Badala Zamana’ gets picked up by various radio stations, most notably in Arabic speaking countries. In France the song did not go unnoticed either, but until today - although championed by Habibi Funk among a few others – it remains relatively unearthed. More

This special 12" features two tracks that will not be on the vinyl version of the forthcoming AC Soul Symphony, Disco opus "Metamorphosis" featuring a 20 piece orchestra alongside a whole host top live players. That makes it an even more vital pick up because both are pure disco fire. 'I Want To See You Dance' has the title's classic refrain repeated over big Salsoul style string licks, funky basslines and soloing piano. 'The Talented Mr Adams' is a tribute to the legendary disco producer Patrick Adams and is a super sweet swooner with golden live strings and brass backing up a loose-limbed rhythm and vamping pianos that get you in the mood for love. These two tracks act as a fine teaser for what's to come on the much-anticipated album from a contemporary version of acts like MFSB and Love Unlimited Orchestra. More
