Following the stunning digital outing, Oliver Dollar’s ‘Another Day Another Dollar’ now has its long-awaited vinyl release, spread across two EPs. This adventurous artistic statement from one of house music’s most vital names shows off a wider breadth and depth of sound than ever before in his Classic Music Company debut. Using the longer format as a way of expressing different styles, from blues to disco, house to downtempo, the album was in the works for six years. Oliver linked with some of house music’s most essential names, from Ben Westbeech to Matthew K, Daniel Steinberg to Nils Ohrmann via Sqim. The album has now been split over two vinyl EPs, with Part 1 formed of a five-track selection that commits some of the highlights of the album to wax. Danny Howells debuts on Rekids with the ‘Throb’ EP. The legendary DJ’s DJ first EP for Radio Slave’s imprint sees him pair with keyboard player Elliott Herrington. Howells, a quietly revered figure in house music since the mid ‘90s, delves deep across the ‘Throb’ EP, which celebrates subtle drum programming, otherworldly keys and soundscapes throughout. The cossetting warmth of ‘Throb’, a track which tips the smallest of nods to Danny’s role in the heyday of progressive house, was born out of a late-night studio session - long forgotten about and then rediscovered, re-appraised, as so many great tracks are. ‘Thrunk’, another supremely heady cut, follows and sees keys slide around the mix, modulated and tweaked just enough to create a constant feeling of movement without losing balance, firmly rooted by a bassline that Howells, contrary to his usual practice, wrote first. Danny Howells is a darling of British dance music. Kiko Navarro & Pere Navarro land on Radio Slave’s Rekids with their ?rst-ever EP, ‘Les Cousins’. Their debut release counts three tracks, merging infectious House grooves with Pere’s Jazz-in?ected trumpet solos for a stylish EP rooted in classic sounds, yet with a distinct modern edge to it. Tal Fussman returns to Rekids with the ‘I Feel’ EP. The Bambossa Records founder now lands on Radio Slave’s flagship label following an impressive 2024, which featured releases on Faith, Nu-Groove, and Defected. After his appearance on Rekids’ podcast series in August, House hero Harry Romero starts the label’s 2025 with the ‘Nice To Meet You’ EP. First up is the title track, a uniquely hypnotic cut with a bold kazoo melody and raw, club-ready low-end that shines on the breakdowns and high-impact drops. ‘Danny’s Groove’ is next, a track with real Romero energy, its rhythm carefully layered with an organic drum shuffle at the centre, an ear-catching whistle melody in the back, and plenty of synth hits in between - the ‘Nice To Meet You’ EP is a masterclass in building and releasing energy on the dancefloor. Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint was founded in 2006 and has since spawned successful offshoots with the Techno-focused Rekids Special Projects in 2017 and its newest sublabel, REK’D, in 2024. Santos’ ?rst release for Matt Edwards’ Rekids imprint, the four-track ‘We Were All Kids Once’ EP, is a continuation of the experienced producer’s output on his own Let Me Understand Records, which has seen a staggering amount of support from DJs since it’s launch in 2018. Moodena & Charles Levine drop ‘Badman’ on Rekids. Radio Slave and Cratebug remix the track, with the EP landing this October. ‘Badman’ sees Moodena & Charles Levine team up on Rekids this October, including remixes from label founder Radio Slave, and Cratebug. The vocal mix of Moodena & Charles Levine’s ‘Badman’ is up ?rst, a high-energy dance track with classic house strings and an infectious bassline, telephone-like samples dialling the keypad, and a big vocal to top it o?. Chicagoan edit royalty Cratebug steps up to remix ‘Badman’ ?rst, turning the track into a hypnotic after-hours cut with plenty of dub echo, the original faintly shining through its rolling elements. On the B-side, Moodena & Charles Levine’s ‘Badman’ is then remixed by Rekids’ own Radio Slave, who in turn transforms the track with a more low-slung vibe, cruising along with tripped-out sonics and traces of the vocals while bringing the dial-up sounds forward. Closing out the EP, there is also a dub which loses the original ‘Badman’ vocal but maintains the classy house heat. Moodena has been active in the Disco and Nu-Disco scenes for over thirty years, earning accolades via releases on Midnight Riot, Nervous Records, and his own Tropical Disco Records. Following a twenty-year-long friendship, he collaborates with one-half of Soul Clap, Charles Levine, for the ?rst time for the ‘Badman’ EP on Radio Slave’s Rekids. With Soul Clap, Levine in?uenced the House and Nu-disco scenes through varied tracks on labels like Defected and Crosstown Rebels while releasing tracks from artists like Jkriv, Josh Wink and DJ Rocca on their eponymous Soul Clap Records label.

Bushwacka’s ?rst release for Radio Slave’s Rekids, the ‘Heaven On Earth’ EP, is out on October 11th 2024 and sees the UK House and Breakbeat innovator deliver two tracks complete with versions. Title track ‘Heaven On Earth’ is a slice of low-slung House in which a drawling spoken-word vocal about love for music dominates. It’s a track with the sort of cast-iron, funky groove that has permeated Bushwacka’s music since day one. The ‘Instadub’ dubs out the vocals and takes ‘Heaven On Earth’ in a heady direction. On the flip, Version One and Version Two of ‘Roger That’ see Bushwacka drop ?nely tuned funk-infused Deep House, with the former treading an earthy heads-down path while the latter ups the melody, chord and vocal sample prominence, creating a restrained euphoria throughout. Bushwacka, aka Matthew Benjamin or Matthew B/Just Be/Makesome Breaksome and countless other aliases, has been a pivotal part of the electronic music scene for over 30 years. While his wildly successful project with Layo Paskin as Layo & Bushwacka! is his most prominent, this former London School Symphony Orchestra percussionist’s roots go much deeper. A pioneer of the nascent Rave and Acid House scenes who went on to be one of the progenitors of Tech House and UK Breakbeat scenes, Bushwacka’s in?uence is huge but far from static, with releases on the likes of Classic, Aus and NuGroove in the past few years alone.

Kiko Navarro & Pere Navarro land on Radio Slave’s Rekids with their ?rst-ever EP, ‘Les Cousins’. Their debut release counts three tracks, merging infectious House grooves with Pere’s Jazz-in?ected trumpet solos for a stylish EP rooted in classic sounds, yet with a distinct modern edge to it. Both hailing from the Balearic Islands, Kiko, a seasoned DJ and producer from Mallorca with music on King Street Sounds, Pacha Recordings, Shall Not Fade and more, and Pere, a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer from Ibiza. Despite sharing a last name, the pair are not related, meeting for the ?rst time at a private party where Pere spontaneously joined Kiko’s DJ set on trumpet, after which their partnership continued when Kiko invited Pere to record a trumpet solo for a Louie Vega remix, leading up to the creation of their debut ‘Les Cousins’ EP, landing on Rekids this May.

Danny Howells debuts on Rekids with the ‘Throb’ EP. The legendary DJ’s DJ first EP for Radio Slave’s imprint sees him pair with keyboard player Elliott Herrington. Howells, a quietly revered figure in house music since the mid ‘90s, delves deep across the ‘Throb’ EP, which celebrates subtle drum programming, otherworldly keys and soundscapes throughout. The cossetting warmth of ‘Throb’, a track which tips the smallest of nods to Danny’s role in the heyday of progressive house, was born out of a late-night studio session - long forgotten about and then rediscovered, re-appraised, as so many great tracks are. ‘Thrunk’, another supremely heady cut, follows and sees keys slide around the mix, modulated and tweaked just enough to create a constant feeling of movement without losing balance, firmly rooted by a bassline that Howells, contrary to his usual practice, wrote first. Danny Howells is a darling of British dance music. Emerging in the late 1990s with the likes of the era-defining Jackpot Records, his journey in dance music has always been about music, which has seen him eschew frantic touring and production schedules in favour of doing what he loves. Famous, for those in the know, as Cassy’s favourite DJ, Howell’s deft touch and subtlety as a DJ and Producer are evident in spades on ‘Throb’

Four years after Nuova Napoli, Nu Genea are back with Bar Mediterraneo, a new album and journey, which projects the
sounds of the Neapolitan duo formed by Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina even further.
Nu Genea's Bar Mediterraneo is an idea of a shared place where people meet and fuse together; a space that leaves its
doors open to travellers and their lives, always exposed to the whims of fate. Some of this can be experienced through the
multitude of sounds that come together in the tracks, layers of different acoustic instruments, voices and synthesizers
merging in a unique musical blend.
Opening up to the voices of many different people, separated by languages but united by the sea and the music, Nu
Genea's hometown, Napoli, becomes a true place of encounter.
You can hear this all along. In "Gelbi", a gorgeously deep and propulsive Ney flute plunges into murky waters of the
melancholic Tunisian dialect sung by Marzouk Mejri. In "Marechia'", unbridled happiness and sun ooze from the delicate
vocals of Célia Kameni and create an acrobatic bridge between French and Neapolitan language. In "Straniero", your
soul is arrested from the moment the slow spell-binding mandolin ignites the hypnotic patterns recorded by the legendary
Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen. In "Bar Mediterraneo", the title track, bittersweet guitar’s riffs, analog waves and choirs are
overwhelming the song giving you what you would like to hear on a boat trip along the Amalfi Coast.
Nu Genea couldn't afford to overlook their firmly anchored roots into the Neapolitan culture and its dialect with "Tienaté",
where the power of neapolitan language (interpreted by Fabiana Martone) supports those quarter-tone strings and the
uncessant folk-disco groove that spreads to the entire song. In "Praja Magia", repetitive mandolin riffs lead the song,
giving space to a choral yet tight vocal line that speaks of Varcaturo, a village close to Napoli. In "Rire", a volley of poetic,
deceptively laidback, lyrical fury interpreted by Sicilian Marco Castello intimately combines with a highly musical, multitextured
instrumental backbone and the swoon of a chanson in its heart. In "La Crisi'', the lyrics of a Raffaele Viviani’s
poem from 1930 have been adapted to a laidback jazz-funk groove in full NG style. In "Vesuvio", revaluing the evocative
verses and powerful mantra of Vesuvio, Nu Genea re-adapted to the dancefloor a folk song by the working-class band E’
Zezi from Pomigliano D'Arco, combining the voices of a school choir with Jupiter-6 arpeggios and bold percussions.
Bar Mediterraneo is the place where people constantly return to transform curiosity into participation, tradition into
sharing, unfamiliar into familiar. When travellers come through its “doors”, carrying their treasures of words and emotions,
they aren’t strangers any more. They take part in a shared experience, enriching themselves and others by leading to
unexpected musical journeys.
