It's time for an overdue reunion as a long time friend makes a return to the Upon.You family with a new vinyl exclusive single these days. And of course we're talking about the Belgium-born Sammy Goossens, better known as Sierra Sam to all lovers of quality TechHouse beyond, who is about to release his "Remember Me" 12" on our vinyl only offshoot UYX Series in fall 2k15.
The original version of "Remember Me" causes us to gravitate straight towards the center of the club, sporting percussion layers as hot as a tropical night out and well-morphed sample wizzardry with a classic, dry windy city touch. Later on we're carried away by positive, uplifting stab sequencing and an energy overload that sends punters to ecstatic heavens for a reason.
The next variation on "Remember Me" is the 'Pascal Hetzel & Sierra Sam`s System 100 Mix' - a way darker affair on the technoid side of things. Psyched out, Acid-induced synth lines meet a threatening, slightly distorted drum foundation, frizzling high-hats on overdrive and devil'ish, psychotic vocal processing from hell. 100% underground bunker music for those who know.
Finally we see Upon.You-founder Marco Resmann on remix duties for "Remember Me", catering a fascinating, highly energetic, yet dry and tool'ish cut on the original track for maximum dancefloor frenzy. Watch out for siren synths on fleek!

It’s fair to say that Sammy Gossens aka Sierra Sam is one of the rare and victorious butterflies of the electronic world. Over the last 15 years not only has Sierra Sam released his own works on esteemed imprints such as Supplement Facts, Time Has Changed, Einmaleins Musik and many more, but his impeccable engineering skills are in demand worldwide, co-producing with artists such as Bloody Mary for Dame Music and Surburban Knight for UR and Peacefrog. Not enough to suffice his creative torrent, Sierra Sam runs the highly successful Toys For Boys imprint alongside Marcus Vector and was label manager for Jay Haze’s Tuning Spork and Contexterrior labels. Joining Cesare vs Disorder's Serialism imprint comes as no great surprise; the labels quirky, throbbing yet quality mannerism slotting directly into Sierra Sam's honed tech house signature for this five piece EP ‘Sierralism’. A1 ‘Sierralism’ marks the EP with an acidic and animalistic drive as sirens scream and tight percussion smack against a dark push and pull bass line. ’Sierralism’ is deceiving though, as its second half swerves into creepy vocoded slurs and an enchanting key melody to mould the title track into a mixed bag of flitting atmospheres. Up next is ‘Your Secrets’ where Sierra Sam exercises his unrivalled ability to conquer a plethora of sounds. Dripping in sumptuous synth lines, whispering piano keys and a wailing male vocal, Sierra’s concoction of off- beat clicks and cuts work as the underlying drive to ‘Your Secrets’ - a sensual, elegant and late night house track. On the flip long term friend and colleague Jay Haze works his ardent craftsmanship on ‘Your Secrets’ with his ‘Never Ready Edit’. Injecting punch via powerful drum snares and ricocheting vocal snippets, Haze flips ‘Your Secrets’ into its dark, smouldering alter ego with a stomping funk to its beat. Following Haze, Sierra Sam welcomes another artist on ‘The Laws Of Distraction’, Brooklyn’s Big Bully. Big Bully’s skin prickling vocals have spanned the house tech landscape, featuring on productions from Samin, Dinky, Adultnapper and Fuckpony to name but a few. ‘The Laws Of Distraction’ leaves us immediately hypnotized with a vat of warm echoeing synth sections and faint trickles. Deeply lost within Sierra Sam’s consistently intelligent rhythm sections, shakers are delicate, tom drums bellow and hand claps strike. Bully’s vocals are the grand finale in the arrangement though as his breathy vocal stabs dance against serene moans. Lastly, ‘W.G.B’ is the ‘Sierralism’ digi bonus, closing the EP with an upbeat and irresistible house track. With nods to an old school vibe and roughness, a bouncing bass line carries from below, playing host to crisp wooden taps and stabbing synths that consequently make for irresistible rhythms. ‘W.G.B. has groove and raw charm in abundance. ‘Serrialism’ is released in late February, followed imminently by Sierra Sam’s next EP on Tiefschwarz’s label Souvenir. As 2012 unfolds, Serialism continue their ever ascending role as one of the scenes most innovative and quality imprints. More

Jazzanova released their 3rd album "The Pool" on Sonar Kollektiv in 2018. It evolved from various loose jam sessions, mixing up synthesised sounds, samples and real instrumentation. Many singers where involved incl. Edward Vanzet from Australia, who was also asked to provide lyrics. Which he did creating the song "I'm Still Here" giving the tune a Yacht-rock west coast feeling.
I always felt the song was one of the strongest of the whole album so I asked some peeps to do remixes for my label Best's Friends.
German A-List remixer Larse gives the whole thing a pop feeling with an Italo-disco touch in his both versions. While Winnie & Somow from Berlin go for a more organic approach looking for that sun-rise House tune on a beach-rave or wherever.
