Answer can be found on “Geometric Vision”, the debut EP of Hungarian electro don Norwell on French New Flesh Records. Real name Balázs Semsei, Norwell has turned out a steady stream of releases on labels like Dalmatia Daniel, Pinkman, Chabu Recor-dings, Seagrave and his own Farberwechsel imprint until now, always coming on strong with a personal artistic vision plus a sense of drama. Across four craftily cuts on Umwelt’s label, he revisits his own dystopian universe made of sonic frequencies fused into rich atmosphere with a strong array of emotions. Appendix may refer to any text added to the end of a book or an article, containing information that is relevant to the main subject matter. Not that this is a way to say that this is the end of Shabu Recordings in any way, but rather a call back to Norwell's work while using its previous incarnation as a starting point to elaborate and expand the world created previously. Although, it focuses on different events and it stands on its own as its own entity. Appendix starts off where Norwell's previous release on Shabu, I Kissed The Sun, left off : a big morning stroll in a psychedelic forest with unseen, yet familiar, crea- tures inhabiting it. Willie Burns (The Trilogy Tapes/WT Records/ L.I.E.S. Records) complements this unusual walk in the woods by absorbing it into his warehouse banger signature. Burns' rework focuses on micro- events of the original to create a sort of granular House version out of them. The adventure continues on a somewhat melancholic turn with We Have Been Here Before and Sometimes as the B Side. While We Have Been Before is a more dancefloor-oriented take to Krautrock's signature synthline layering, Sometimes is Norwell's venture into a more Techno universe than he's mostly associated with to come out with a soothing, yet banging work. As digital bonuses, Norwell offers Glimpse : a short but catchy synth jam riddled with different layers of complexity. This piece is then taken into obscurity by Farbwechsel Records' boss S Olbricht for a ride into a 80s-cyberpunk club where people are trying to dance their problems away in a dystopian world. More

Release Info
After a period of spending time in nature living in the Spanish coastal town of Dexo - producer Roi speaks of his experience of returning to city life on his second EP for Fanzine Records on Crunia EP. Set to drop this summer, Roi shares two tightly honed original tracks inviting Carl Finlow and The Exaltics to remix.

The EP is a counterpoint to Deixo EP - his 2019 EP on Fanzine that speaks from his opposite perspective of the self-knowledge born out of his isolation when he first moved to the coast out of the city. Crunia marks his time preparing the return to the jungle of the asphalt.

It's a new chapter moving from an introverted to extroverted existence and between nature and man's constructs in the city. Opening the EP Maianca works in deep breakbeats with shimmering synths with a jumping and uplifting feel. Carl Finlow's remix builds it into an ultra-funky electro boogie number that perfectly speaks of the carefree existence of living in nature.


Crunia takes the EP into a more frantic corner of urban life - to light up dark corners gritty warehouse dance floors. For their remix The Exaltics take's Roi's heavy handed lead and brings a heavily kicking version of Crunia to the mix ready to pump the city's sound systems.

We are proud to introduce you our release number six, this is our first Various Artists featuring the cream of the crop in the spanish techno scene. Chords are the main component in this four tracks, deep techno is the style and the makers are Architectural, UnCUT, Eduardo de La Calle and The Transhumans. Opening A side, Architectural kicks in with Lightning Conductor, a sonic journey thru the deepest side of techno, solid kick drum and hipnotic sequences are joined by lush and liquid chords and pads that evolve and change constantly during the arrangement creating a dynamic piece of intelligent music as only Juan Rico can make.
On the second cut, the misterious duo UnCUT provide one of their deepest exercises with Deviant, fat kicks again, solid chords, sharp percussions and melodic pads all arranged on a complex timeline that constantly moves and changes.
