UK electronic legend Carl Finlow makes his full debut on Avoidant Records with the clinical Engines Of Creation EP. Easily one of the most highly respected producers to come out of the UK, Carl has a discography going back over 20 years and spanning multiple genres. After his first outing the label as part of the "Defend Your Planet" compilation, Carl drops 4 classic, superbly produced cuts of hi techno electro funk.

Title track "Engines Of Creation" opens in true Finlow style with robotic beats and flexing, otherworldly synths. "Dead Centre" bangs hard with it's disruptive, fast paced percussion but leads down darker paths with ominous, spacial FX and atmospheres. The frenetic sounds of "Sonic Six" continue Finlow's innovative and funked up trajectory before closing out with the interstellar trip of "Reckless", that bounds through the the cosmos, radiating it's high energy output.

Carl Finlow is well known as one of the true pioneers of second wave electro producing work for Warp, Klang and NovaMute along the way. Eric Estornel's Lone Romantic releases "Anomaly", the new EP of the veteran English-born, France-based producer Carl Finlow. "Anomaly" is the 3rd instalment, following Estornel's Maceo Plex album "Solar" and the return of his Mariel Ito alias with the "2e Komst" EP, remarking the distinct sound of the label once again, while pushing a step forward at the same time. With the relaunch of Mariel Ito, the electro and IDM alias of Estornel, that was active in the early 2000s with releases on Modern Love or SCSI-AV and that will see a retrospective album from that time on R&S Records, Lone Romantic is a new suitable platform for Carl’s music. After a period of spending time in nature living in the Spanish coastal town of Dexo - producer Roi speaks of his experience of returning to city life on his second EP for Fanzine Records on Crunia EP. Set to drop this summer, Roi shares two tightly honed original tracks inviting Carl Finlow and The Exaltics to remix.

The EP is a counterpoint to Deixo EP - his 2019 EP on Fanzine that speaks from his opposite perspective of the self-knowledge born out of his isolation when he first moved to the coast out of the city. Crunia marks his time preparing the return to the jungle of the asphalt.

It's a new chapter moving from an introverted to extroverted existence and between nature and man's constructs in the city. Opening the EP Maianca works in deep breakbeats with shimmering synths with a jumping and uplifting feel. Carl Finlow's remix builds it into an ultra-funky electro boogie number that perfectly speaks of the carefree existence of living in nature.


Crunia takes the EP into a more frantic corner of urban life - to light up dark corners gritty warehouse dance floors. For their remix The Exaltics take's Roi's heavy handed lead and brings a heavily kicking version of Crunia to the mix ready to pump the city's sound systems.

We are proud to introduce you our release number six, this is our first Various Artists featuring the cream of the crop in the spanish techno scene. Chords are the main component in this four tracks, deep techno is the style and the makers are Architectural, UnCUT, Eduardo de La Calle and The Transhumans. Opening A side, Architectural kicks in with Lightning Conductor, a sonic journey thru the deepest side of techno, solid kick drum and hipnotic sequences are joined by lush and liquid chords and pads that evolve and change constantly during the arrangement creating a dynamic piece of intelligent music as only Juan Rico can make.
On the second cut, the misterious duo UnCUT provide one of their deepest exercises with Deviant, fat kicks again, solid chords, sharp percussions and melodic pads all arranged on a complex timeline that constantly moves and changes.
