Maenad Veyl returns with his sophomore album, ‘Reassessment’, a collection of 13 tracks inspired by inner
turmoil and change. Expanding on the sound palette established with last year’s critically-acclaimed ‘Body
Count’, Feriero ventures into heavier, more abstract territories and collaborations with Years of Denial.
I wrote a new album as Maenad Veyl at the end of last year, in part inspired by events surrounding some
personal health issues and a (minor) surgery. I wanted the music, title and artwork (shot over a year ago) to
reflect what I experienced then, as I saw them as a metaphor to other changes I was going through at the
time.?
Needless to say, as we geared up for release as we usually do, the world ground to a halt. All the images ,
words printed or spoken on the album have changed meaning since and, compared to what many people
are going through now, my “inspiring changes” feel distant and unimportant.?
We’re not blind to the fact this could be seen as inappropriate or in bad taste, and we’ve contemplated
every alternative, but in the end we’ve decided to keep things as “business as usual” as possible, so

From the start, 'Art Break' provides the perfect warm-up, gently cleansing the palette and re-introducing us to Barkosina’s lustful vocals with a slow-burning pace that only marks the beginning. 'Wrong' picks things up, injecting a dose of body music for an infectious piece that bleeds into 'La Pendue' which keeps the energy rising. Next up, 'Mr. Guillotine' delivers a razor sharp edge, carving out a fresh post-punk feel which then brings us to the brooding, 'Never Satisfied'.

Cage'. Completing an album cycle of themes and exploration which began with 2015’s 'Inner Systems',
'The Golden Cage' is perhaps Prequel Tapes’ most diverse and expansive work - utilising the artist’s own
vocals for the first time and evolving his production and sound to new, uncharted dimensions.
Working off the trauma of his father’s suicide, 'The Golden Cage' was spawned from a hyper-realistic dream
experience which revealed the artist’s path, catalysing new productions and techniques. The result is a
striking work of unconventional electronics that journeys through rhythms, atmospheres and
experimentations. A true narrative of a continuously challenging personal journey
Beginning with the tension-building, free flow of 'My Turn', we then delve into grief and anger with 'I Hate

Continuing its tradition of genre bending output, Veyl comes forth with one of its most innovative releases to
date. 'Still III' is a collaboration between Supreme Low (Jerome Tcherneyan of Years of Denial) and New
York-based MC, Sensational, who has been pushing hip hop’s boundaries for over 30 years. Tcherneyan
first saw Sensational in France in 1999 while meeting in New York in 2001. The two quickly connected and
kept in touch throughout the years when they finally got the chance to record material together in London in
2016.
With beats created mainly using an SP1200 (a sampler associated with hip hop golden's age and raw
Techno), Fuzz/Distortion pedals and dub units like Echoes/Spring Reverb, psychedelic modulations such as
Chorus/Flanger/Phaser and a modular synth, Sensational’s rhymes were totally improvised on the spot in a
3 a.m. studio session under heavy influence. The result is a powerful fusion of sound and style that shatters
all expectations and delivers an audio vehicle bridging past, present and future.
While not lending itself to categorisation, 'Still III' packs Narcotic beats, llbient, Dub, Noise Rap, Bass
terrorist, Freak Style, Raw poetry and more into an 8 track release which is unlike anything out right now.
Joining on the release are Tcherneyan collaborators Broken English Club, who appears on the ominous
opener, 'Doomed' as well as Years of Denial co-conspirator Barkosina, who, as always, mystifies with her

NEVER is the project of Stefano Santi, a multi-instrumentalist and electronic music producer who has been active since the early 2000’s. After several years of working as an audio engineer and touring the globe with bands, he has
always had a parallel life as a producer with a club affinity. NEVER began in his own SPVN studio during the pandemic amidst the isolation of lockdown. His inspiration reborn after abandoning all boundaries and giving little care to traditional songwriting structures.
The result is 'JXDY', the new album which showcases the project’s diverse voice and technical prowess. Not confined to a particular genre, the release masterfully touches on everything from post-punk and shoe gaze to hints of death rock and electronica. The compilation features 8 tracks handpicked by Rødhåd, each characterized by a vigorous commitment to the dancefloor while staying true to the label's signature - hard-to-resist sound with a pinch of mystery.
While every contribution has its distinct magnetic pull, marking the way to a nascent world, the crimson red thread running through this compilation is perpetuating, swirling techno with an acute fit for the dancefloor. Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant is a figure in techno history that needs little introduction. As a member of the Sandwell District collective and the label’s art director he collaborated on works that were responsible for a global focal shift in the genre as their label adapted and challenged the paradigm of minimal techno, taking influence from other sources such as dub, post-punk, and even classical minimalism.
But Mendez’s relationship with music goes back much further than these seminal releases. With In Memoriam, Silent Servant’s latest release on Tresor Records, Mendez writes a deeply personal memoir of a 30-plus year career spent exploring and absorbing the shadowy side of music; a carefully crafted elegy to people, places, and times past and the lasting effect they have on the present.
Across the four tracks, Mendez pays tribute to the earliest Detroit techno and electro, the Belgian EBM movement and the wave music that followed, the monumental dub techno sound from Berlin, and the harder, abrasive sound of the UK at the turn of the last millennium; exploring and referencing the genres that informed his later work. Each track name gives a hint to the timeframe he is revisiting and re-contextualising as the E.P. repurposes the styles that exerted an influence on him.

On the second installment for Len Faki’s newly founded platform Hardspace, the veteran producer goes back to vaults of his collection in order to unearth more hidden gems, turning them into tracks that can not only keep up with modern dancefloor standards, but even bring new life and audience to these personal favorite classics.
Phuture’s Your Only Friend with its iconic lyrics was an absolute anthem back in the day and had a big impact on the young Len Faki. Being able to remix it himself was a very special experience, resulting in an equally strong and emotional Hardspace Mix.
A standout of the early 2000s, Agent Wood by UK Gold still stands as a prime example of tribal techno. This remix builds on the original’s wild drumming sequence and gripping vocals, but manages to pack even more drive and the necessary extra oomph for today’s sound systems.
The only more recent outing on Hardspace Vol. 2 is Base by young German producer A-STS. An extremely simple techno tool that had enough room for Hardspace to add many additional elements like more drums, a new breakdown and even a dubby synthline to completely transform the track towards the end.
Drum Crazy holds up to its name — a DJAX-UP classic that got remixed into a distinctly more „techno“ version with booming low end and more emphasis on the synth lines, while still keeping the crazy onslaught of all things drums going.
A certified banger in 1992 already, Overdub by Belgium outfit Test stood out with its insane main synth motif, which gets dialed back here into something more simple yet even more powerful with some added layers of groove.
Stemming from the same group of early 90’s producers, Her Majesty 909 is a time-honored example of expert use of this seminal drum machine. The Hardspace mix brings the rework up to latest production levels but also keeps the stripped-back charme of the original intact, while making the already reverb-laden track feel even bigger.
Hardspace Vol. 2 is a compilation varied enough to come out in many different sets and settings and at the same time gives us a deeper understanding of the path the DJ and producer Len Faki aka Hardspace is on.

Unlimited Touch consists of Audrey Wheeler (lead singer), Phil Hamilton, Tony Cintron, Sandy Anderson (RIP), Stephanie James and Lenny Underwood. “I Hear Music In The Streets” was originally released on legendary imprint Prelude Records in 1981.
Growing up in the Bronx, from an early age Louie had an affinity and love for all the various musical genres that were bubbling up in New York during that era defining creative period. It is that passion that has stayed with him during a career that has brought him Grammy’s, several worldwide hit records, and a status as one of the world’s most sought after DJs. With Tuomas Salmela aka Phonogenic, we welcome one of the most established finnish Techno and House producers, with releases on 2020 Vision, Poker Flat, Moodmusic or F-Com-munications. Salmela's sound has something dark, reminding of the long finnish winters and cold nights. He does not feast in old times or posts the question of oldskool or newskool, but simply has produced something really new, without getting lost in clicks'n'cuts or doing too much sound research.
