An always club efficient throbbing main synth persists through an exciting structure, highly resonant transitions whip through drum machine patterns, making the third track on the record nothing if not a nail biter. The shuffle of the hi hats does nothing to slow down the energetic peak of the EP; we find Border One confidently in control of layered machinery. Drawing the project to a close, 'Fractal' blinks through persistent tension. Linear rides and drones open and close with each transition, making for a bent atmosphere of intrigue. Opening the record with a throbbing bassline and a sustained pad, Border One wastes no time in getting to the point. He begins with leaning on rock solid groove to space out his ambient elements and stabs, creating a rich atmosphere while remaining focused on the movement. Transitioning from an intriguingly subaquatic A1, the needle slides to a more brutal second followup 'Transmute'. Providing a constant and saturated low-end, Border One remains expressive with his use of his drum machine while keeping a familiar bubbly main synth. The reduced depth in 'Transmute' is likely due to the tension coming from his percussive work as opposed to a synth, making it very efficient for virtually any occasion. As the A2 draws to a close, Border One dives back into the mind with the other side of the record - starting with 'Radiant'. Shrill tension makes its return over a playful, hypnotic synth sequence to create a satisfying contrast between crystal and viscous elements. 'Prism' then closes the record down on a driving jazzy tone, showing the artist's versatility and understanding of his genre. Dissonant chord stabs peak out of sometimes busier percussion lines, making it the perfect way to conclude a dance floor-oriented record.

A staple figure of the respected Voltage Festival in his own country, Border One's raw, insistent sound has seen him release on Key Vinyl, Form & Function, and his own self-titled imprint whilst also featuring on DVS1's revered fabric mix. On the Restless EP however he hits his stride, steadily building intensity through restrained repetition and droning, hypnotic sound design on the opening pairing of "Crude". Token sees the return of Brussels-based Border One for 4 tracks of no nonsense, body focused music. This collection of tracks, meant to deliver uncompromising groove, affirms Border One's sonic identity through his use of evolving yet persistent tension brewing above hypnotic elements. This signature storm adds a dimension to Cyclone that guides the listener between club and mind by adding this constant yet recognizable anticipation.

The EP opens up at full capacity with the title track; bent metallics over an intimidatingly deep kick are stalked and circled by a sinister pad that leaves only to release maximum tension. This peak-time cut is followed by the subdued A2 'Halo' where, this time, melodic ambience is prioritized. Light toms drive us forward to undress a track with a patiently strained arrangement, partially through a filter only opening fully midway through, imposing the producer's pace. Border One then lifts the energy with 'Stratus' through 1/16th rhythmics with an almost psychotic arpeggio and tunneling hi hats in a track that can be visually described as racing fractals. The invigoratingly hypnotic quality of 'Stratus' creates an ultimate closed-eye dance floor experience to then pull us into 'Spheric' that closes the EP out in an entirely new but familiar cosmic atmosphere. Space is given to this last cut, with short plucked synths resonating through vast soundscapes, giving the project an ethereal closing over lighter, bouncing percussion.

Introducing the latest addition to the KEY Vinyl family: Irish artist Casey Fables, who takes the steering wheel for the next sonic endeavour.
An EP pumped with tight minimalism, sampled, groovy techno. From end-to-end it's paced with a teasing sort of reserve and sleek progression that works equally well on the dancefloor or headphones. It's a funky, slippery and sophisticated ride into the centre of the modern dance floor and highly recommended to those that know. Opening with 'Heilung', Fables showcases his knowledge of track building through subtlety and restraint. It's one that ebbs and flows, snakes and seduces with a tensile, minimalist groove control. A2 'Krava' is a massive TIP - simply very tasty, hard-to-resist techno. Here the artist smudges all sharp contours for a more dubbed, swinging groove. Note well the breathed vocal which adds to an impeccable layered construction, creating a lovely puzzle of tempos. On with the flip, 'Blumen' maintains a moderate, laid-back flare while diving deeper into sensorial displays through gritty textures and sporadic bleeps. A DJ tool with all the frills trimmed for streamlined mixing potential. Closing the release is 'Late Night Liquor Store', a fun, funky and fresh piece with a full-bodied 4/4 template and once again smudged voices for an extra boost of intrigue.

First track of the record is '27', bringing out rolling rhythms and sensual layers which build up to a sinuous tension, perfectly balanced between uplifting groove and suspense.

Kayak is an EP entirely dedicated to highlighting rhythmic compositions and their subsequent effect on the body. A1introduces a multitude of metallic layers, from a consistent ringing tone on the background to the coming and going of highly clanging rides- yet, maintaining pounding low ends. Get2definitely hits the hardgroove shelf of your collection.
Second in comes Delta which extends the tribal edge of its predecessor, adding a layer of sensuality and seduction. Engineering a thoughtful interplay between suavity and strength, this track is guaranteed to do the do. Big room killer.
Time to flip the vinyl now, and well... Fasten your seatbelts dear listeners and dancers. B1 is fun and dynamic, minimalistic and most importantly, powerful. In between the fuel efficient percussions and drum patterns comes in a witty snippeted vocal, which adds to building up the exquisitely constructed rhythmic tension of the track.
