Kornél Kovács' second album is on the way via Studio Barnhus, which he runs with Petter Nordkvist and Axel Boman.

Stockholm Marathon sees the Swedish-Hungarian producer, who was born in the Swedish capital, "reflecting a lot on this beautiful, boring city I never quite manage to move away from," he says, after moving back last September. Kovács credits his "dearest Stockholm people" for making the LP his most collaborative and most personal release. That list includes jazz musician Niclas Skagstedt, Matt Karmil, Rebecca & Fiona and Malin Gabriella Nordin, who did the artwork.

The LP, which arrives in April, is his second full-length, following 2016's The Bells, also released on Studio Barnhus.

For the past seven years Kornél Kovács has been busy rocking dancefloors and boomboxes

Nordkvist. The label and DJ trio is spearheading a new era of fearless Swedish off-centre dance
music, straddling the line between the cute and the menacing.
Anticipation for Kovács' debut album has been rocketing following stand out releases like 2014's
wistful Szikra, last year’s mad party anthem Pantalón on Glasgow's Numbers imprint and the late
night groove of Space Jam on Smallville Records.
On The Bells, Kovács pops open his trunk full of sounds nicked from the lost and found bins of
nightclubs all over the world. From the distorted organ chords of BB to the stripped down
trancehall beats of Josey’s Tune and Szív Utca and the title track's cinematic romanticism, it's all of
the bells and all of the whistles - further positioning Kornél Kovács as one of the most characteristic
producers of modern house music.
The record was completed in an intense two-week session with Kovács' great friend and great
studio engineer Matt Karmil in the cold winter of 2016. Another close friend, artist Malin
Gabriella Nordin, has created the album artwork together with her brother Jonas.

Kovács' latest outing Szikra struck a chord with lovers of quality house music worldwide and as 2014 came to a close it lingered on top of many a year-end-list. But the sheer beauty of Szikra was only the beginning. 2015 is set to be a monster year for Kovács and it all begins with Nincs EP. Leading track Nordic Rave 4 sets the ball rolling with hyper-edited vocals and rolling percussion shrouded in frosty atmospherics and rudebwoy soundbites. Don't sleep on the acidic bassline that sneaks up on the unsuspecting towards the end! Utopia, Ohio is like all the characters of 80s movie classic The Breakfast Club rolled into one modern house track: the pretty tenderness of The Princess, The Athlete's muscular effectiveness, the off-kilter weirdness of The Basket Case, IDM techniques worthy of The Brain and the smooth ruthlessness of The Criminal - jackin' for beats in dusty record bins all over the world. The grandiose pads and descending bassline of Tooth make up a track that is as imposing as dizzying. Slightly out-of-tune samples quiver like a struck drum - thoroughly processed and mangled through Kovács' mutated machine park. Closing track So So Solid surprises by *not* being the ultimate clash between Jermaine Dupree and Reebok-clad grime stylings, although Kovács could probably pull that off as well. Instead we get a beatless loopfest akin to The Field or Gas - pure angst-ridden bliss! Collaborating with studio wizard Matt Karmil has given these productions an exquisite aura depth. On Nincs, the idiosyncrasies of Kornél Kovács' work come into light, always finding the sweet spot between crazy, sexy and pretty damn cool.

Colombian Caribbean, understood as a surface in motion.
The project draws on tools present in the early development of the Champeta genre – the Yamaha RY30 drum machine, the Yamaha DD-14 drum pad, and the Pyramid mixer – alongside percussive
gestures and guitars characteristic of the style. Alex Voorhies, known to dance floor connoisseurs as lil_art_hoe, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Louisiana, where they operate the boutique imprint Techno Money Records. lil_art_hoe’s signature sound is raw and unedited, with an array of grooves and melodies endlessly swirling to create truly unique tracks full of big ideas, but completely lacking in regard for normalcy.
