Laurence Guy returns to Shall Not Fade with his much-anticipated third EP, adding to last year's massively successful "The Sun Is Warm and Directly Above You" and "Your Good Times Will Come". The London-based producer has amassed a global audience of listeners, all united in their appreciation for his luscious, upbeat house music and an outstanding discography of releases via imprints like: Ninja Tune, Late Night Tales, Studio Barnhus and Mule Musique. While still unmistakably Laurence Guy's signature style of delicately constructed, sample-heavy dance music, this EP carries a sombre note, reflective of the confusing times in which it was made.
The A-side's "Love Theme For The Morning After" maintains a positive and danceable atmosphere, an ode to the moments of clarity and contentment we grasp in the afterglow. Musically, it is an ecstatic build-up of chords that leave you breathless, with a rhythm that pulses as consistently as a heartbeat throughout. By comparison to this joyfully glittering track, the B-side deals with more difficult emotions. Throughout "Mutual Excitement", barely distinguishable vocal samples overlap each other in a hazy clamour, whilst natural keys play a bittersweet melody, pondering the uncertainty of a new relationship. Guy says of the final track, "Certain (To A Certain Extent)" "2020 was a hard year to be certain of anything, I found myself frozen in pretty much every decision I had to make". The song, a stripped-back melody built from a low fidelity jazz sound palette, is not just an exploration of the sense of uncertainty 2020 gave us, but expresses Guy's acceptance of living without certainty. This soothing message is at the core of the EP, managing to create a sense of hope during an unsettled time.

Over the last two decades, The Field has refined a language of repetition that feels not assembled but uncovered. His loops don’t just cycle; they gather weight over time, so the tracks seem set in motion rather than composed – patterns established early, then

On this five-track EP for Studio Barnhus, the Swedish producer’s first solo release in 8 years, The Field returns to the sonic architecture that defined his seminal debut From Here We Go Sublime, but with a (dare we say
Studio Barnhus-esque) looseness that allows the structures to breathe.
Tracks like In Our Dreams and 333 706 move forward on meditative chords, harmonies stretching their reach until the tracks feel elated by their own momentum.
The B-side tilts the frame. Another Day introduces some melodic immediacy, folding a tender vocal presence into The Field’s glittering matrix of sound, softening the grid without dissolving it. Now You Exist is a grand finale radiating with restrained euphoria.

Far more sinister then dOP's recent output, 7 Days features 4 tracks which explore am acidic realm of dark ruminations and swamp dredged rhythms. “Introduction” Aquarius starts things off with a Basic Channel-esque wash of chords, noise and spoken word sure to appeal to fans of Berlin's longstanding dub techno tradition. “So Low” comes off like a chopped and screwed take on Italo heard only through the mixer's effect sends, where modulating analog sequences and a thundering motorik back beat desperately swim to the surface of a blackened ocean gasping for air. “Before U Go” lightens the proceedings ever so slightly, upping the tempo and allowing the undulating synths lines to sparkle in the periphery, while the incessant vocal encourages all self-respecting punters to stay on the floor until the last track has passed ! its final groove. Finally “Universe” comes off like a lost out take from Kool Keith's Dr Octagon project with it's classic jacking electro beat and sultry effected vocals.
