Esperanza Records traces back to 2005. In this time laps he has produced 2 albums, 20 EPs and a

Side A starts point-blank with “Bou Gei” bouncing shuffle, driving bass line, lively cymbals,

reprieve, “Ruth” suspicious pads lurk behind a funky swinging rhythm spruced up by a continuous
surfacing of snare rolls and giggly stabs.

Flanging hats and delicate 808 rim shots lead the way in opening tack ‘Hypsi’, whilst a tight sub line, dubbed out atmospherics and hypnotic female vocals further intensify the composition. A visceral bass then meanders through ‘Meoui’, intertwined with spectral chords and infectious synth lines, all formed within a crisp drum workout. Next up, glistening percussive hits and spiralling synths join forces with mesmeric effects and a subtle organic groove in the minimally inclined ‘Miamaia’ before Jorge then joins forces with fellow Argentinian Cape in the stripped back ‘Soulvor’. Utilising pulsating subs and shuffling rhythms to create a framework for dissipating samples, subdued harmonies and earworm sonics to roam within.

Early September will see Jorge Savoretti release his ‘River Plate’ EP via Visionquest’s Special Edition imprint, comprising three original compositions from the Argentinian artist.
Having been involved in electronic music as a DJ for over two decades now Jorge Savoretti is firmly cemented as one of the Argentina’s finest electronic music exports, starting from his humble beginnings in Rosario he has gone on to release material with Esperanza, Claque Musique and igloo-rec as well as touring the globe throughout.
Here we see Jorge mark his debut for the Visionquest Special Edition imprint with a new three- tracker and taking the lead is title track ‘River Plate’, radiantly showcasing Savoretti’s dub-infused percussive led style with choppy swinging drums, ethereal pad swells a snaking sub groove and dub chords which ebb and flow throughout.
Following is ‘Parana High’ which takes a more refined, low-slung approach via soft chord flutters, bright stab sequences and bumpy sub hits while a shuffled percussive drive further fuels the groove. Jorge Savoretti delivers an array of intuitive cuts in his debut album ‘Triskelion’ this summer, the first album to land on his vinyl label Savor Music. Born and raised in Argentina, Savoretti began DJing at a young age and quickly picked up an accomplished residency at El So´tano as a teenager. Before long Savoretti got involved in the studio, dropping his debut release ‘Frozen’ on Argentine label Igloo to inaugurate a discography now boasting Oslo, Drumma, Esperanza, Lawler’s VIVa Music and Hawtin’s M- nus. 2011 saw him launch Savor Music, a vinyl imprint that has so far hosted the likes of Felipe Valenzuela, Martinez, Franco Cinelli as well as fellow founder Cape. “Triskelion is an album composed of different musical landscapes based on diverse influences that I have had since first listening to underground house/techno in Argentina in the 90s” says Savoretti on the album. “It's what I've experienced throughout my 'techno' history reflected in the present and also a new starting point of what's coming up in the future - European/American influences touched by Latin feelings.” These eclectic landscapes are vivid from the off as Savoretti instigates his album with a downtempo cut named ‘Minigang Love’ before following a dubby direction in ‘Chrystalis’. He then injects purring basslines and a dose of rhythm in the likes of ‘Jardin Av’ and ‘Lovejack’ until spectral synths and heady grooves appear in ‘Souljack’ and ‘Silb Ando’. ‘Cuban Dreams’ focuses on a stripped back approach with its subtle rimshot and tantalising hook, before ethereal house appears in the form of ‘Revolution’ to later be joined by an innovative display of synths in ‘Simple Acid’. Atmospherics and otherworldly pads are the focal point in ‘Song For Konamita’, whilst title track ‘Triskelion’ saunters along gently, until ‘Aurora Borealis’ concludes the album with a cinematic crescendo.

ordan Peak's fledgling Rogue Society imprint hits it's second release in February with 'Super Flavor'/'Bassuka' from Jorge Savoretti featuring remixes from John Daly and Dan Curtin. Rogue Society kicked off late 2013 with a release from Peak which garnered support from Ryan Elliott, Kirk Degiorgio, Norm Talley, Radio Slave and Neville Watson and the London-based artist has recently continued his run of form with an outstanding release for D'Julz's Bass Culture imprint. For RS002 Peak hands the reins to Argentinian producer Jorge Savoretti, a producer adept at turning in infectious house for the likes of Esperanza and Hometown, who delivers two original cuts. ‘Super Flavor' is vintage Savoretti - employing a simple tight groove and filtered vocal to significant rolling effect while 'Bassuka' is a more manic, technoid cut which rolls atop a rich Juno bassline.

Following dancefloor burners from Esperanza's Papol and Lucas Mari, respectively served with remixes by Ekkohaus and G-Man, Savor finally turns to label numero-uno Jorge Savoretti for an unabridged EP. Today's 5-course menu doesn't hold any flavors back and digs right into the action with "Chicagotriptool". Those following Jorge Savoretti and his fellow DJs have probably heard this dropped many times over the last few years. Finally pressed on wax, its bassline is a serious lethal weapon. Furthermore, there will be another heavyweight remixer,a big surprise and an appreciated comeback: Loco Dice need no introduction, and his remix of this Cadenza classic leaves us speechless. A magnificent bond of the original latin vibes and astonishing peak-time sound manipulation with a relentless pace. The remixes and the rework will be released both on a vinyl E.P. and in digital format.
"Llovizna" is a track with an indissoluble bound with Cadenza's South America roots, a bound perpetually fortified by the origin of many of the artists involved with the label, and by the choice to host amazing massive events in Chile and in the rest of the continent. A funky bass line and full- bodied reverberating jazz drums make out Luciano's bubbly and shiny remix. The cutting edge climactic sequencing of its synthesisers and the seasoned use of percussive breaks and fills exalt the emotional interlude of the folkloric female Latin chant, just before a fully fledged dancefloor oriented restart.
The rework delivered by Felipe and Francisco starts off banging with a resolved bass drum, rattling shakers and fierce hi-hats. Electronic music has always had a special affiliation with space, and the sounds of the cosmos. An inherent love of all things sci-fi, galactic and otherworldy has always been a common thread, especially with techno producers, and so it's always a pleasure to come into greater contact with the science of these sounds when creating new music.
Project ALMA is a new collaboration between Luciano's Cadenza Records label and the ALMA Sounds initiative that bridges two sets of individual passions; that of Luciano's love for music, and ALMA astronomer Antonio Hales' love of the universe. Their 20 years + relationship has finally had the opportunity to cross paths, and Luciano, alongside fellow producers Felipe Venegas and Diego Errázuriz, have produced this special release using sounds collected from the ALMA resource library.
Each producer worked with various source sounds, incorporating these planetary samples into their compositions; Luciano takes us on a trip to Orion in his own inimitable style, whilst Felipe Venegas goes deeper with a truly spatial piece. Diego Errázuriz opts for a beatless excursion that marrys soft and atmospheric piano to the planetary tones.

Electronic music has always had a special affiliation with space, and the sounds of the cosmos. An inherent love of all things sci-fi, galactic and otherworldy has always been a common thread, especially with techno producers, and so it's always a pleasure to come into greater contact with the science of these sounds when creating new music.
Project ALMA is a new collaboration between Luciano's Cadenza Records label and the ALMA Sounds initiative that bridges two sets of individual passions; that of Luciano's love for music, and ALMA astronomer Antonio Hales' love of the universe. Their 20 years + relationship has finally had the opportunity to cross paths, and Luciano, alongside fellow producers Felipe Venegas and Diego Errázuriz, have produced this special release using sounds collected from the ALMA resource library.
Each producer worked with various source sounds, incorporating these planetary samples into their compositions; Luciano takes us on a trip to Orion in his own inimitable style, whilst Felipe Venegas goes deeper with a truly spatial piece. Diego Errázuriz opts for a beatless excursion that marrys soft and atmospheric piano to the planetary tones.

On 'North Pole', we get more of the signature 'De La Calle' sound; subaquatic bass and searing, melancholic strings play out over a steady mechanical beat, nodding its head not only to the Detroit masters but also to the European New Wave sounds that influenced the Motor City artists in the first instance.

And to complete this huge package, Matthew Herbert joins the party with a head scrambling "One Direction Dub" mix. The UK sound designer has mesmerized and innovated over the last two decades with some stunning music on his own Accidental label as well as remixes for the likes of Moloko, Jamie XX, Björk and a host of others.
On the Original Mix, brooding pads and spikey synths linger over a spacious drum pattern, live drum fills and claps bouncing off the bass pulses, as wandering keys usher in the unmistakable tones of JAW AKA Jonathan Illel, the musician and vocalist extraordinaire who ply's his trade with the French electronic group DOP and as a guest on recordings from artists like Mirko Loko and Guillaume & The Coutu Dumounts amongst many others.

More ambient soaked business on 'Aniwama' as Lino forges melodious piano and clanging ride cymbals with low end sonics as the track deconstructs as quickly as it builds, tearing up the arrangement rule books to create a unique cut that can perform as a mood-setting piece just as well as a peak time genre-shifter.

off-shoot release of that album, one completely reimagined by the man, the myth: Ricardo Villalobos.
Much has been written and talked about when it comes to producer/DJ Ricardo Villalobos over the years.
The mercurial Chilean-German artist has consistently redefined the boundaries of techno and electronica
over the past 30-years as a producer, whilst also traversing the world and expanding minds as a DJ who can
equally delight as he does challenge.Like a great jazz drummer (he was a percussionist before discovering mixing records), Villalobos has not so
much as broken “the rules” of structure as just created his own unique approach. One that is often surprising,
ever open-minded, and clearly lead by whatever happens to be inspiring him at any given moment. Watching
him work or hearing him play music always feels live and free. He’s an artist. And that is exactly how this
(perhaps unlikely) collaborative album has come to light – but then this is Ricardo, so maybe we should all
know by now that anything is possible.
Villalobos explains, “In my scientific search for some electroacoustic musical landscapes, the offer of
remixing ‘Black Apple Pink Apple’ was just perfect for me… In general, the song writing is so very good and
particular, with all the instruments played into a sequencer, so it was very inspiring to strip down these pop
songs into my dubby extensions, taking only the drums, bass, and vocals of the song.” Expanding further,
“After delivering the first remix, Mo and myself came up with the idea of reimagining the whole album in a new
way, mixed simple with other ears and my inspirations, with a new and different point of view of what
instruments are important to hold the song to bare itself.”
It says a lot, and somehow captures the essence of Ricardo’s approach to music (and life), that one remix
soon evolved into a whole plethora of reimagined works, driven by a creative slipstream and a clear
connection to the songs created by A Mountain of One.
Mo Morris provides more insight into his own connection with Villalobos, “I lived in Berlin back in 2002-04 and
used to religiously go to dance to Rici at the after (after) hours parties: little, tiny events. And he just used to
blow my mind, I hadn’t heard anything like it before (or since). Ultra-modern and forward thinking.”
Mo continues, “A good friend connected to Ibiza happenings introduced me to Ricardo as it transpired that he
was a fan of our early material, so I sent him some demo’s when we were in the studio creating ‘Stars Planets
Dust Me’ and he loved ‘Black Apple Pink Apple’. The relationship and collaboration grew from there really, and
I hope that this release is still at the start of what we can all create together.”
Focussing in on the album at hand – ‘Ricardo Villalobos reimagines: Stars Planets Dust Me’ – we are treated to
a concept listen that guides us from dreamy daytime Balearic pop – staying very true to the original songs – all
the way through to completely original deep dubby techno excursions. And to Villalobos fans, it will perhaps
surprise (and hopefully delight) how light a touch he has provided to the opening tracks, focussing more on
enhancing the sonics, and allowing the originals to shine brighter through remastering and mixing down. It’s in
these moments that we see Ricardo as a pure music fan, needing not overly change or alter what’s already
been created, but simply doing what he can to maximise what’s already there.
What will certainly delight Ricardo fans are the four full ‘klub’ remixes provided of ‘Black Apple Pink Apple’,
‘Make My Love Grow’, ‘Softlanding’ and ‘Dealer’ that each boldly explore the outer regions of the dancefloor in
a way that only Villalobos can.
Mo rounds off, “From an electronic and sonics standpoint he’s kind of out there on his own. It’s such a unique
sound. Weatherall also had this, and Harvey has that unique flavour, and also people like Nils Frahm and Max
Richter have this gift. It’s not an easy thing to produce. Ricardo has his own personal cosmic trademark.”

Announcing the worldwide reissue of Flora, Hiroshi Yoshimura’s underrated work originally recorded and completed in 1987 and first released on CD in 2006, three years after his passing in 2003.
Flora is chronologically and stylistically a follow-up to Hiroshi Yoshimura’s acclaimed 1986 works Green and Surround, wherein Yoshimura continues to play with the ambience of sound and the sound of ambience, underscoring his mastery in the field of environmental music. Listening to Flora is like taking a stroll in a park, absorbing the colors and textures of the natural environment—flowers, insects, the swaying of the leaves—as Yoshimura often did at his beloved Edo-era park near his home in Tokyo. As Junichi Konuma describes in his liner notes, Yoshimura’s music “only begins to emerge as it exists at the intersection of passive and active.” Yoshimura's approach to sound and melody invites the listener to hear the intricacies of the music with intent, while simultaneously allowing the aural textures to exist as part of the background of our everyday life.
This reissue marks the first time the album will be available on vinyl (2LP, 45 rpm) and cassette, and includes liner notes written by music scholar Junichi Konuma and remastered audio by Grammy-nominated engineer John Baldwin. Reissue design and layout was handled by Tiffanie Tran.

Announcing the worldwide reissue of Flora, Hiroshi Yoshimura’s underrated work originally recorded and completed in 1987 and first released on CD in 2006, three years after his passing in 2003.
Flora is chronologically and stylistically a follow-up to Hiroshi Yoshimura’s acclaimed 1986 works Green and Surround, wherein Yoshimura continues to play with the ambience of sound and the sound of ambience, underscoring his mastery in the field of environmental music. Listening to Flora is like taking a stroll in a park, absorbing the colors and textures of the natural environment—flowers, insects, the swaying of the leaves—as Yoshimura often did at his beloved Edo-era park near his home in Tokyo. As Junichi Konuma describes in his liner notes, Yoshimura’s music “only begins to emerge as it exists at the intersection of passive and active.” Yoshimura's approach to sound and melody invites the listener to hear the intricacies of the music with intent, while simultaneously allowing the aural textures to exist as part of the background of our everyday life.
This reissue marks the first time the album will be available on vinyl (2LP, 45 rpm) and cassette, and includes liner notes written by music scholar Junichi Konuma and remastered audio by Grammy-nominated engineer John Baldwin. Reissue design and layout was handled by Tiffanie Tran.

Ark has got an eclectic and "organic" sound, something in between. From his origins as guitarist in a number of 80's funk bands, most notably Trankilou, where he hooked up with the legend that is Pepe Bradock and onto the great Matthew Herbert & LoSoul with their first collaboration, 'Belle Lurette' in '99. The 'Alleluyark' EP series from 2003 reaffirmed as his status as chief protagonist of experimental, groove led house and techno. His 2005 long player on Perlon, 'Caliente' won him critical acclaim, which is furthered by his more recent works together with Shalom (as Shalark), Krikor (as Krikark), Cabanne (as Copacabannark), Mikael Weill (as Les Cerveaux Lents) and Dolibox. His cannon of remixes is as long as the channel tunnel, reworking the likes of Stephen Beaupre, Mr. Oizo, Archive, Mossa, Salif Keita, Slabb, Fym, Robag Wruhme ... ARK's new LP (cd+vinyl) features singers (Xanax, Lippie) and is here now...

Both his mega-hit No Worries and his first contribution to the Running Back catalogue, Desire, are essentially modern-day disco records. The same goes for his return to the label with Glory Night—perhaps even more so, thanks to its vintage engineering and authentic aural treatment. Equipped with the genre’s signature sounds and arranged like a lost disco edit from the late ’70s, Butch applies the lotions and potions that today’s dancers demand, creating one of those peak-time sensations that make him unique—complete with confetti, a firecracker breakdown on top, and an extra rhythm section bonus tool included. Just Chill and Just Fly continue that narrative. While the first appeals to fans of R&B or funk samples (though no recordings were harmed in the process), it is catchy as hell and creates an inescapable maelstrom. The second, meanwhile, draws on the principles of deep house and exercises itself in contemplation. Be that as it may, here are a couple of tracks that work on almost any floor and at any time. Or, to quote Giorgio Moroder: “Disco is music for dancing, and people will always want to dance.”
