On the flip side ‘The Deep’ is exactly that, an immersive layering of synth textures and detuned organs. Halocyan outlines computer music's many future possibilities, while remaining actively mindful of its one and only history. Having released material from such luminaries as Dosem, Paul Woodford, Oliver Ho, Extrawelt, and Joey Beltram - Halocyan continues to assert its influence with their next record: a 2-part EP from Apollo and R&S affiliate Dave Angel. Founder of Rotation Records and originally hailing from Chelsea, Angel is a Techno emissary whose intelligent, Funk-licked productions have propelled him through a long and illustrious career through which he has consistently branded his own stamp on Electronic Music whilst also remaining highly relevant to modern listeners. It's this that lends him perfectly to a record with Halocyan who do what they do best in presenting his 'Incoming' EP: a sincerely-rooted collection that comes backed up by label favourite Hackman on remix duties. ‘Portrait' kicks things off with jubilant melodies rippling atop sharp, whetted percussion before minor-key sweeps bleed in and bring with them a degree of pensive tension. A buoyant bass line propels the track from Dave Angel - Incoming EP beneath before Hackman offers up a deftly swung revision rich with his sturdy
subs and idiosyncratic percussive flutters.

For their latest offering, the L.A coterie have enlisted the talents of the legendary German duo Extrawelt and have backed them up with remixes from championed master of machines Ulrich Schnauss as well as Joey Beltram and Giegling affiliate Vril. Extrawelt's 'Breaking Bricks' remixes addition to Halocyan's Originary Technicity series will be released across two separate volumes with Ulrich Schnauss' interpretation and the two original mixes on the first and Joey Beltram and Vril's revisions featuring on the second. Having released several EPs through Cocoon as well as 12"s on James Holden's Border Community, Kompass Musik and Traum Schallplatten, Extrawelt have evinced infallible consistency across their back catalogue and have long been regarded an eminent and influential force in the world of experimental Techno. Joey Beltram kicks off Volume 2 with a remix of 'Breaking Bricks'. Having landmark successes at Drumcode, Harthouse, Bush and MB Electronics, Beltram continues to be a leading innovator of underground Dance Music in the US and abroad. Bustling with neatly crafted percussion, ducking synths and a spearing, propulsive bass pattern - his remix moves with brisk, mechanical purpose and adds a signature degree of energy to the original. Next up is the enigmatic Vril whose saturnine style of Techno has earned him releases on Delsin and Music Man as well as Giegling and live shows at spots as reputable as Berghain. Dimitri Fergadis's L.A based label Halocyan follow up a slew of high-profile releases from the likes of Paul Woolford, Arkist, Raudive and Gravious with the next coming courtesy of the ever-evolving Hackman backed up with remixes from Timo Maas and KiNK. At just 24, Hackman has already amassed a lauded back catalogue that's touched 20:20 Vision, Futureboogie, Greco-Roman and Rampa offshoot PTN. As an artist he's consistently diversified his sound and - akin to the ethos of Halocyan - has kept one foot firmly in dance music's rich history as well as looking forwards with each release. His latest offering 'Semibreves' shows Hackman returning to the tougher, more armoured facet of his catalogue epitomised by his collaboration with Tessela on Audio Culture back in 2011. Complex, primal rhythms are laced with his stout and muscular bass tones while he uses melody to astutely whip up rapture. First up on remix duties is Rockets & Ponies co-founder Timo Maas; a stalwart experimentalist who has earned his stripes across a vast and varied back catalogue.
