“Everything is sound in the material world. You and me, we are vibrations” Sampling, strife and spirituality - three notions that form the basics of Eduardo’s lifestyle. De la Calle is back on Forbidden Colours, again flaunting his connection with El_Txef_A. The release consists of three original cuts. On the A Side at 45 rpm is the energy and freneticism of 'Hobson’s Choice': "Because a person may refuse to accept what is offered, the two options are taking it or taking nothing" On the B side, the sublime 'Paradox of Choice' leads with a strange kick loop and astral synthesizers followed by 'Transportation Forecasting', where a classic 4x4 kick is paired with analog recordings to depict a more colorful setting.

Out of the many artists, both new and established, that Futurepast has welcomed to its family, Spanish producer and DJ Eduardo De La Calle is one that we can definitively call a legend. His vast discography includes many of dance music's most appreciated labels, so we're humbled to present a full EP from him.
His EP "Kardama" emerged as the winter of 2022 bled into 2023, a period where he'd actually been producing more downtempo works, so "Kardama" is his most recent take on techno; a genre he is certainly well-versed in with over 25 years experience.
As a reflective work, De La Calle processes emotions and thoughts with analog methods, reverse delays and pedals on "Kardama". The emotions that he holds close to himself show up in the detail that sits deeper within each track.
"I simply make music with the intention of feeling better" says De La Calle, "it is a therapy for my mind and for my spiritual state. Through a creative process, I feel calm and useful for the world and for myself." More

Eduardo De La Calle - Conforce Remix
Eduardo De La Calle s recent Distortion Theory III EP on Abstract Reasoning was another impressive piece of work from the prolific producer. Now come four diverse remixes of the title track, each with their own unique twist on the warped machinations of the original.
J - Keel kicks off proceedings with a droning, tense interpretation which toughens up the original considerably. Reversed chord stabs pitch up and down as ominous bass bores a steady course through the track s underbelly, with ticking percussive elements ensuring a motorik pulse.
The masterful Roman Fl gel teases out the chime motif of the original and supplements them with muted marimba-esque arpeggios for a soothing, underwater feel. The beats are kept to a succinct minimum, with subtle swathes of strings bringing a majestic, dreamlike tinge to this refined, minimalistic production.
Fellow Spaniard ORBE brings an ambient feel to the hazy, delicate melodics of his mix, with the delayed, warped synth patterns that struggle to be heard and beautiful atmospherics recalling Carl Craig. Moments of distorted pressure seep through and remind us of the buggedout flavour of the original.
Holland s Conforce rounds things off with plump low end throbs and sparse synth pulses reminiscent of Basic Channel, with gently shuffling hi-hats underpinning the murky yet warm textures and broad, heavily reverbed swathes of chord drama.

Eduardo De La Calle has been doing his thing since the early 2000s, but the last couple of years have seen him move into overdrive. Releases on Planet E, Hivern Discs, Nitsa Trax, Turbo Recordings, Gigolo and Darkroom Dubs to name just a few have shown he is both prolific and consistent, and this new four-track collection is just as compelling as his recent output.\\r\\n\\r\\nDistortion Theory III is a whirring hypnotic machine jam that melds shimmering synth snippets to mind-bending FX undulations and throbbing low end. Disorientating and wonky as hell, it\\\'s the sound of a funky computer malfunction somewhere in deep space.\\r\\n\\r\\nLight Tunnel continues the theme, coming across like the dying throes of space station spinning out of control due to excessive amounts of sub bass. It\\\'s a dizzying, disorientating ride.\\r\\n\\r\\nAcid Aaron C (Edit) wastes no time getting down to business with its gurgling, incessant 303 line present from the get-go. Shuffling percussion rubs up against heady female vocal lines and wonky detuned 8-bit synth blips, the undercurrent of the track swelling and calming seemingly at will. \\r\\n\\r\\nThe Dub Math takes things down a notch with hazy sounds and plodding sub bass combining with heavily reverbed vocal incantations which all combine to bring together the vibe referenced in the title.

Eduardo always delivers quality music, but this is a very special record, we can say that "this is a showcase of electronic music". Four tracks with four different styles of electronica: deep and marvelous keys in “Wondrous Punia”, a mastely detroit house lesson in “Knockout Sakshi”, the minimal techno monster in “Great Manojar”, and the psichodelic electronic cult song “Georgeous Shiama”.
Another timeless record for your collection.

A. Phason Jazz
B1. Mr Dewey D
B2. Rhythmic Soundscapes
Key Selling Points
The word 'Icosahedrite' refers to the geometric figure icosahedron, and arises from the idea that the EP is an amalgam of electronic music styles with many other aspects of traditional musical genres, like jazz or blues. Metaphorically, those genres act as the multiple sides of an imaginary icosahedron. Something complex yet solid that sits outside of the conventional emerges as the final result.
A1 "Phason Jazz" - This is a track where conventional jazz structures converge with electronica, and the influences Eduardo gets from Miles Davis and John Coltrane shine themselves. Twisted keyboards patterns mixed with delays and deafening effects form a place to get lost, and eventually repetition becomes hypnotism and turns into an automatic trance.
B1 " Mr Dewey D" - Mr Dewey D is referring again to Miles, and his first and second surnames. This song is much more influenced by Dark Comedy (aka Kenny Larkin) and all the records that he throws out on the french label "Poussez" titled "FunkFaker: Music Saves My Soul" Blues breath tirelessly in this composition where there is not much time for an objective analysis and where everything finally leads to an insane ending.
B2 "Rhythmic Soundscapes " - This track is, I guess, the most conventional part of the EP, Nonetheless, it retains special qualities. Floating pianos with delays are combined with bass sounds that go back and forth, forming a musical piece with techno sensibilities that I hope will give opportunities to the most daring DJs.

In the cracks that sprawl between electronic and analog music, visual art, and craft creation, Yamila dances on the edge of sound and conceptual heights. The Spanish composer, cellist, singer and producer is based between Belgium, Holland and Spain. In recent years Yamila has created music for contemporary dance productions in places such as The Gothenburg Opera, Netherlands Dans Theater, and Dance Forum Taipei, among others. Her projects have been presented at festivals such as Sonic Acts Festival (Amsterdam), Arts Electronica (Linz), Seoul International Computer Music Festival, STRP Festival (Eindhoven), and Today's Art festival (The Hague) to name a few. With 'Iras Fajro' (Forbidden Colours), her debut album, Yamila, summons in 11 songs with the strength of electronic sounds in front of a fragile voice that at times unfolds in small coral clusters. The brilliant electronic arpeggios and rhythms dissolve in the velvety voices of the cello, which are sometimes intertwined with the creations of two collaborators, the British producer and composer Clark (Warp) and the multifaceted ex- flamenco Nin~o de Elche (Sony). My love wears forbidden colours My life believes My love wears forbidden colours My life believes in you once again

after more than 10 years releasing music under the pseudonym of “El_Txef_A” the enigmatic Basque musician is ready to open a new era with his first solo record as Aitor Etxebarria. Markak (Soundtrack from the Motion Picture) is Aitor’s first original work for Cinema. After the premiere of the documentary on the San Sebastian international film Festival (https://www.sansebastianfestival.com/2016/sections_and_films/etb_screenings/8/in), a limited amount of vinyls will be released this April coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Gernika (one of the main themes of the documentary). Composed and recorded on the Basque Country, Aitor stopped for a few months his full schedule of tours to focus just on the film score. If it’s “marks” what we’re talking about, in the case of Gernika the bombing suffered on 26th April 1937 is a deep and lasting mark of profound symbolic value. For the creation a number of internal symbolic norms are essential, necessary to lend meaning to our enviroment. The creator creates on the basis of the stories he has received, the images, the feelings. Gernika’s past is a field for creation amongst Gernika’s young people. The documentary explores what these young creators “have locked away inside them”, their emotions. The bombing is a wall in the life of people, an interruption. It is a violence that breaks away from peaceful routine, a denial of the freedom to choose that a people and its inhabitants should have. Contrasting with this is democracy, the political system that guarantees the freedom of people.

Hailing from Reynosa, Mexico and the Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas, Andres Aguirre has been a lifelong devotee for music and audio production. He became a radio host of an electronic music show and production director for the student-run 91.7 FM station in Austin, and his longtime passion for playing and collecting music linked Andres with the Forbidden Colours family from long ago. Aguirre returns to Forbidden Colours - this time with a solo EP concept crafted with as much love for the dance floor as it is for the casual living room listener. Situated somewhere in the realm of deep house with a touch of techno, the rich harmonies and vivid textures take you through a hypnotic trip composed of spacey electronic tracks, smooth songs, and adventurous interludes.

Forbidden Colours is proud to announce the final remix pack for El_Txef_A’s sophomore album “We Walked Home Together”. After 2 remix EPs featuring Eduardo De La Calle, The Black Madonna, Lake People, Ada, HRDVSION and Bostro Pesopeo to name a few, the label is wrapping up the remix triptych with yet another impressive run of artists. Kompakt co-owner Reinhard Voigt delivers a weird, dry yet easy and acid influenced reinterpretation of “The Love We Lost”. Dave DK is the first one to rework “Mugarrirantz” showing his love for the Basque Country. The song which is written in Euskara, the Basque language is beautifully composed. Bringing in the analog and classic flavor is Damian Schwartz with a classic mpc sound for “Claim Of Planet Earth”. Finally, El_Txef_A also worked on a reinterpretation giving the same track a mystic feel reminiscent of Orbital’s first albums.
