The return of master Loz to Outplay! After releasing strong stuff on labels like Razor-n-Tape, Quintessentials and Quartet Series plus some recent remix action on Melbourne's Kyoku, monsieur Goddard has made a new EP for us as a perfect follow up to his 2015 Loose Jams! He presents a wonderful EP of three varied tracks, showcasing his prowess in combining synths and sampled bits. First up is uptempo discofied 'Hazy', which builds well on the sound he's become known for. On the flip there's deep dusty chugger 'Peaches' and the sweet, sweet melodies of synthy groover 'Murmur' to provide a proper close to the EP!

Loz Goddard steps into new sonic territory on his Physical Education debut—delivering four machine-driven cuts rooted in analog hardware sounds, with high-energy rhythms and dancefloor intent. Leaving behind the sample-heavy textures and live instrumentation of previous releases, this EP leans more into synthesizers and drum machines, channelling the pulse of classic club gear with plenty of added bounce. Subtle nods to the sounds and moods of 90s and early 2000s video games add a nostalgic digital sheen—balancing playfulness, drive and warmth in equal measure.
Four forward-thinking jams from a seasoned producer.

Release Info:
In our 20th celebration year we welcome back Loz Goddard! It’s been quite a while since we last saw him on our label. With his standout debut collab release with Harry Wolfman in 2016 he has developed a unique mix of electronica, deep soundscapes and lush organic Deep House on labels such as “Oath”, “Razor N Tape”, “Church”, “Outplay” and “Apparel Music”. Now he finally returns with a mini album that features beautiful crafted ambient and electronica cuts paired with three upbeat tracks that will for sure shake the dance floors in and outdoors this summer! Enjoy!
In his own words, here are some insights on the influences and production process of these six pieces:
The release is named after a night in the White Hotel in Salford watching Skee Mask. At the time I had a bunch of unfinished ambient ideas as a result of making “Balloon Tree Road” (out on Oath). There were a lot of ideas I still loved that didn’t get finished for that release, so I set about finishing them late 2022 & early 2023 with the view to releasing an EP or ‘mini album’ that was again angled a bit more towards home-listening.
The more upbeat tracks are newer jams that I created in 2023. I wanted to include a few club-ready tracks on the record as well, so the release appeals to DJ’s as well as home listeners. I approached the production much like my past two records on Oath, with lots of live drum elements, some sampling and a mixing approach which keeps everything sound warm and organic. It’s rough round the edges - as has been the case with my productions of late - and offers a nice contrast to my DJ sets and radio shows at the moment, in which I am playing mostly Deep/Progressive House, Breaks & Techno. There’s some influence on the title track from the Deep & Lo-Fi House sound of artists like Baltra & Mall Grab, and I have taken influence from all the breaks I’ve been playing in DJ sets for ‘How’s This for a Vague Song Title’.
All tracks mastered by Salz Mastering in Cologne. Photography & Art by Break 3000.

On his second excursion for Oath, Manchester-based producer Loz Goddard continues to nurture the clubby side of his sound with a razor-sharp and bombastic EP that contains all you could ever wish for when it comes to breaks, euphoria, and sonic depth….
As a producer, Loz has operated under a number of guises, but one thing has always remained – his elegant and inspired application of melody. His early career was marked by a number of superb releases on labels such as Church, Tusk Wax, Apparel and many more, all of which highlighted a deep affection for groove, tone and atmosphere. The music largely operated within the realms of Deep House – at times spilling over into Nu-Disco – but there was always a little bit of shine on each EP that pointed to other spheres of influence, and it was these references points that made Loz Goddard’s music feel broad, considered and introspective. The music appealed on many levels and provided plenty of worlds and spaces in which listeners could get deeply involved within, and this journey is filled with beautifully polished gems that can be held and admired in your hands time and time again.
A two-year break from releases resulted in the release of ‘Ballon Tree Road’, his debut LP and first release on Oath, and to say the record was a step forward would be an enormous understatement. Here Loz Goddard set down a marker of things to come, as he drew from the melodic outlays that were a cornerstone of his discography to date and permeated these through a spectrum of styles and rhythms that represent everything good about a dance music record. You had the quiet moments, the heart-felt moments, the pure and powerful moments, with Loz exploring everything from Breaks to Ambient, Broken Beat to House, and even some D’n’B thrown in for good measure. This was a marker if there ever was one, and it firmly established Loz’s second era phase, one where his abilities were given space to shine on a much broader scale.
‘Are We Ever Leaving Here?’ builds upon the energies found within his debut LP, providing a bitesize experience that aims itself directly at the dance floor – but listening at home provides a lot of scope for inward escapism. The EP presents three original cuts, of which the title track gets things going – a deep set, resonating chord gets things going, which fans out to include additions to the sequence, and before long the breaks come into play, achieving lift-off and welcoming you firmly into the experience. ‘Parallaxing’ really evokes that firm set 90s Techno sound, with a hard-as-nails rhythm section (with hats aplenty) providing a basis for acid lines, swelling backroom chords and gorgeous interplays between synth lines – the way in which this song peaks is utterly glorious. ‘Space Nugz’ takes things down a notch, but keeps things heavy yet delicate. The beat here is cavernous, diving deep down within the strata along with the bass line that keeps proceedings ticking over. The melodic top layer is spacey, drifting between the ethereal and the real, enticing the listener to leave this plane and pursue a new life in another galaxy.
To round off the experience, there are two remixes from Casa Voyager head OCB, and Bristol-based producer Boulderhead, and they do not disappoint. OCB puts his spin on the title track, and the BPM gets pushed to its max, with the vibe pulled apart and rebuilt as a heads-down, floor-smashing proggy roller. Boulderhead focuses on ‘Space Nugz’, and here the groove is once again flipped on its head, with the remix pushing into the realms of dreamy chuggy techno, with the melodies filling up the spaces so beautifully.
Loz Goddard started something beautiful with his debut LP, and saw his sonics reach new heights and touch new depths. This EP keeps the flames burning bright, with expertly crafted dynamics and his signature melodic abilities on full display, with the two remixes adding much to the experience. As a mini-experience, it’s hard to beat, and it only sets the heart racing for what might come next – for the meanwhile, Oath are incredibly proud to facilitate this beautiful new experience from Loz Goddard, and its one hopefully to be enjoyed at a few spots this summer…..

Short info:
Over half a year has passed since Loz's last outing on Brooklyn's Razor N Tape but he's back on a solo tip with this 4 tracker of slightly deeper and more synth-driven cuts than we've been used to this year from the man. Slap Dancer sets the tone with punchy drum & sample hits, easily the most club oriented of the bunch. Duplicity sees Loz back on that slightly funkier sound we have come to know of recent times, but with a little added dustiness. Flavour adds a little extra sprinkling of dust with it's rolling drums and chords - proper chillin' basement tackle. Be sure to check that B2 cut Sunset Vista for that slow, machine driven & synthed out acid jam as well.

- Sofatalk has released before on celebrated labels Omena, INI Movement, ANMA.
- Intricate and deep musicianship
GENRE/S:
Deep House / Jazz House / Broken Beat
TRACKLISTS:
A1. Sofatalk & XL Regular - Rumble Strip
A2. Sofatalk & XL Regular - Afro Quarters
B1. Sofatalk & XL Regular - Easy
B2 Sofatalk - On The Run feat. XL Regular
SHORT INFO:
Sofatalk & XL Regular have come up with a wonderful jazzy EP for Outplay. Filled with warm chords and broken
house beats.
Italy’s Piero Paolinelli and Alessandro Giacchi are the newest addition to our Outplay family. They have released
music previously on Omena, ANMA, Cognitiva Records (Sofatalk’s own label), INI Movement, Nómada and
Monologues. Their EP for Outplay is called Afro Quarters EP and contains 4 electronic jazzfunk infused house
tracks and make for a perfect testimony of their musicianship.
Rumble Strip kicks off with broken beats turning into a 4x4 house beat filled with percussion, dreamy keyboard
licks and sultry vocals to underline the floaty vibe.
The title track, Afro Quarters, is up next pushing us further into their signature jazz infused broken beat house
style. With the funky bassline and the stabby keys it’s hard not to move. Throw in tastefully done flute and
Rhodes solos for the mature sound they’re known for.
The third piece is called Easy and contrary to its name it’s not as chilled out as you’d think. It’s incredibly groovy,
with heavy staccato bass and keys, while keeping the dreamed out jazzy chords to balance it out. It makes us
think of the masterful work of Kaidi Tatham.
“On The Run” concludes the EP and continues the vibe displayed throughout the release filled with arpeggiated
and stabby keys and vocal bits.
It’s our absolute pleasure to be able release this and we are excited to share it with you!

Junktion is one half of celebrated duo Fouk
Long awaited full Junktion EP on Outplay after the very successful "Wide Awake EP" in 2016
GENRE/S:
Deep House / Disco House
TRACKLISTS:
A1. Junktion - Just A Disco Thing
A2. Junktion - Real To Me
B1. Junktion - I Got Somebody (Yeah Man)
B2 Junktion - Tribute
After a long hiatus there finally is a new Junktion EP release on Outplay. As "Wide Awake EP" was released way back 2016 it was a long time coming!
The A-side consists of two amped up disco house treatments with "Just A Disco Thing" and "Real To Me": stomping kicks and heavy basses together with disco goodness. While on the other side a more introspective aspect of Junktion comes to light in the form of the understated funkiness of "I Got Somebody" and dreamy melodies in "Tribute".
As Junktion himself says: "We've been playing most of these tracks while touring as Fouk to great effect and it feels so good to get these out there on this release! They're a tribute to the scene and everybody who has supported my music."
Enjoy!

Our lucky 13th release is here!
We have a powerful serving by Russian team Scruscru meets Meowsn.
Both have really cool releases under their belt on Sloth Boogie, NOmada, Nurvous & Star Creature Universal Vibrations.
So, here at Outplay we're very excited to bring you 'Surr Rendez-Vous EP'
A patchwork of creative sampling, wonky jazz chords and powerful synth melodies with a small sprinkling of tongue-in-cheek makes for a super cool four tracker.
The story of the tracks made us reminisce of the rise of the loose beat, broken house of a few years back, while this one still feels very contemporary.
Being a firm believer of letting the music speak for itself: enjoy!

Did you get the memo?
Still waters run deep.
We're pleased to introduce you to mysterious Clive From Accounts; number cruncher extraordinaire by day, totally f'ing awesome music producer by night.
No seriously, we're amped that we are able to release this EP by the self proclaimed "regional tiddlywinks champion" and "all-round beige sky thinker" Clive.
Who says office workers are drones? Loitering around the coffee machine surely has had no bad effect on his creative juices!
When we got an email from Clive with a demo called 'Bisou' we were blown away. Production quality was top notch and it really stood out from what came in our inbox.
So over the course of a year we asked him to fill out an EP next to his busy work schedule. The end result is a record with three very strong tracks, each with its own character.
'Keep Movin' is perfect for big dance floors and filthy sweaty clubs and 'The Trouble With Clive' has that beefy garage thing going on.
With a name like 'Bisou' you'd expect something kissy kissy, but it's a floaty warm, stabby breaks affair with nods to the classic deep sound.
Ahhh, we need you to go ahead and buy this stunner on limited edition wax. So um, yeah if you could do that, that'd be great. Oh, and next Friday is Hawaiian shirt day.

The new Outplay release is by young and upcoming dj/producer Cleanfield, or 'Jelle' as his mom calls him.
Hailing from Arnhem, the Netherlands, it's always great to see another talent pop up in the Dutch scene!
He has made three super catchy tracks for us, perfect for the summer season!
First up is the title track 'Haute Cuisine', warm bouncy bass topped with a super infectious lead melody and percussion. If there is a track more suited for the festival season it's this one for sure!
'Hot Wheels' races on with a deep rolling groove, fuelled by wah wah rhythm guitars, warm synth chords and arpeggios.
'Conflict With Clayton' brings another solid groove to the table with scattered vocal samples and multiple synth layers. Scorcher!
So imagine dancing your ass off to this EP in the sun and feeling fantastic, we sure are!

As Hans Peeman's side project next to his Junktion moniker, New Franklin Theory returns to Outplay with a very personal project. Five carefully produced songs in the form of a mini-album of sorts, which showcases his journey into more melodic synth heavy work. Starting off, 'Andromeda Beach' eases you into the spacey atmosphere of the record with dreamy rhodes supported by his distinctive percussion and bass work.
Following, 'Homeward' introduces melancholic synth lines grounded by an infectious bass line for a Balearic inspired feel. 'Afterburner' ups the tempo with warm arpeggiated Juno sounds and saxy disco samples, which will remind you of his previous work.
Space-funk-synth-boogie, that's what comes to mind when listening to 'In Orbit'. Instant groove with a solid beat interspersed with brief vocal samples and dreamy rhodes chords. As the closer, 'The Holtzman Effect' (award for 2018's most nerdy song title, look it up) sets you off floating away on warm chords and bass together with characteristic space bleeps.

fouk - Down Below
After their Butterfunk EP from last year, Fouk are back again with their new offering 'Mating Call EP'.
As the name suggests, this three track EP is made for the hot & heavy moments while dancing away, during those infinite summer days.
The title track 'Mating Call' is a funky beast, driven by a very infectious bassline and live instrumentation, edging the line between disco and house, as has we have come to expect from the duo.
The next track on the flip furthers the fact that this release is all about the groove. Housey vibes with a classic hint, Rhodes floating on a solid rolling funk bass. 'Just Feel Good'? Yup!
Finally we come to 'Down Below'.
You might wonder "what's down below?". Well, there you can find a dreamy thumper, driven by the compact kick, repeating drone and deep bassline, while the synth pads in the middle tie it all together.

For the first release of 2018 we welcome Harry Wolfman to the Outplay family! Having followed his work for the last couple of years we're very happy to have him deliver this varied 4-tracker, which very well might be some of his best work to date. The A side starts off with 'Hitch'. A warm and dusty groover driven by rhodes, a rubbery bassline and a thudding kick. A lovely string piece in the middle of the track slowly builds up to the break for it to return to the head nodding groove soon after. The added percussion gives it a nice lively feel as well. 'Pigs in Blankets' sets the pace a little slower, but the funk goes on. The track incorporates 80's style samples with some excellent synth and chord work. Perfect for a warm up session. Starting on the B side Harry takes it up a notch with 'Nemoto', which will be a definite stomper for the dance floor. It takes you on a 9 minute journey of rolling bumpy basslines, screaming distortion leads and hypnotising synth work.
Finally, to ease things off, STS-136 (Final Call) comes in at a slow 88 bpm pace as a perfect closure to the EP. Dreamy pads, piano licks and a calming marimba melody combined with a beat which feels like a warm blanket will make you wander off for a moment...

Fouk might have been curating Outplay since 2013, but their 'Butterfunk EP' is in fact the duo's first proper EP on their own imprint. It's not that they've been resting on their laurels: they've drip-fed a handful of EPs on the likes of Heist and House of Disco over the past few years, and released solo efforts on Kolour Ltd and Razor 'n Tape that stormed the charts. It's been fascinating to see the Dutch pair slowly break the mould, moving from heavy sampling in favour to an emphasis on original instrumentation and production. The Butterfunk EP is fine showcase of their prowess in the studio, loaded to the hilt with contemporary dancefloor funk. Things kick off with the rolling drums, off-beat percussion and seriously infectious Hammond lines of Organ Freeman. Title track Butterfunk is aimed squarely at the hips with its smooth keys and perfectly placed vocal, while some acid lines give the track a little edge. Flip over for the bumping 'Wong Way', a chunky workout with a rubber bassline. The finale of the EP is 'Winter', a fantastic slice of 80's inspired downtempo mushroom jazz.

Outplay's newest project is a special 10" vinyl release with 2 tracks by artist New Franklin Theory. The name was inspired by a past in Midwestern USA. As to who is behind the project, some ears might pick up the resemblance to another artist you all know well. Digging into his past is the main inspiration behind New Franklin Theory's two-tracker. Expect two uptempo percussion filled melodic tracks with a slight afro-inspired tropical vibe.

For those who don't know, Mr Flash is the first artist signed on Ed Banger Records in 2003, "Radar Rider" just blew Pedro's mind. Everybody was into fake Daft Punk and other shitty filtered disco at the time, major labels were spending lots of money to have their own piece of french touch cake. It was time for Mr Winter to start something new, Mr Flash came up with this beat, something grandmaster Dj Shadow could have done if he was into mushrooms... We also released "Champions" featuring french hip hop warriors TTC b/w "Disco Dynamite" in 2006. He became quickly one of Ed Rec's fave, a hip hop head entering our disco game can only be a winner. Of course Mr Flash continued his quest for the perfect beat, a bunch of remixes, some productions (what's up Mos?) and lots of white nights.

Short info:
Following a number of exciting tunes released on the renowned Quintessentials, here comes Mat Chiavaroli's first long-player "No Stranger To Madness". Warm Fostex tape hisses and MPC swings, the guy from the Pescara hills delivers 10 tracks for both your dancing and listening pleasure.
The A- and B-side tracks are drenched in dusty funk samples, gritty chords and syncopated rhythms. In "Aroma De Mi Vida" Mat chops obscure Rhodes riffs and layering them with more elements, just like in "Whoja Vu", a heavy-sampled disco juggler very close to his previous Quintessentials releases. On the flip we find some deep chords melting with powerful gospel vocals, giving life to a track that annihilates boring dancefloors. There's a similar vibe in "Jeep Ridaz" that reminisces about seminal Atavisme classics with broken detuned bits and agitated cut and pastes give a sense of randomness. The second part of this album shows Mat Chiavaroli's deeper side. "Double Pain" is a tune that progressively brings you to many aspects of what Mat loves: saturated female vocals stick out while gloomy chords gently develop. "Storia Losca" has a slightly different attitude with a huge synth presence, live percussion and dreamy pianos. The D side opens with "The Quiet Bobobo", a distorted floor delight and ends with something closer to Mat's early music, disclosing a fresh collaboration with the young studio fellow P.Lok.
"No Stranger To Madness" fits many bills and is an impressive proof of what Mat's musical ability is.

Lorenz Rhode - And I Said (Tensnake Remix)
Track list:
A1. Belair
A2. Jubilee
B1. On Top (Strip Steve Remix)
B2. And I Said (Tensnake Remix)
Release Info:
Exactly one year after Lorenz’s debut EP on Dirt Crew he is back with a super funky follow up. With the recent
“Marakuja” track on our “Deep Love 2018” compilation he already set the tone to a much more fluid and organic live approach to his sound recording.
The opening title track “Belair” is a heavy “wurly” organ jam he developed mainly by playing live and afterwards finalizing it in his Cologne studio. After his recent tour and shows as part of the Detroit Swindle live outfit he really got into improvising and composing his tunes on the fly. The Funk is all over this one and it is a great uplifting “sunny” jam to play out. Following this one is the slower and deeper “Jubilee” that’s adding even more soul to the “Rhode” funk with an irresistible bass line and melody and when the clavinet break sets in it’s nothing but Good Times on the dance floor! A certain rewind for us and favorite track off this new EP.
On the flip we added two remixes from his previous high in demand tracks “On Top” and “And I Said”. Lorenz has been working a lot on various projects with his good friends Strip Steve and Tensnake and both had their go on these tracks from last year. Strip Steve took the parts of “On Top” and turned them into a deep Detroit flavored House Jam with stabby beats and beautiful strings added. Last but not least Tensnake fires up a high octane remix of “And I Said” that leans much towards old school New York house rhythms and the additional “Sax” topping gives it a groovy 90s feel to it. For sure bringing back that great happy and funky flow of the original.
We hope you dig this funk and soul laden EP by Lorenz Rhode as much as we do! Enjoy!

A1. Belair
A2. Jubilee
Enjoy!

Originally released in 2012, Lord Giveth, Lord Taketh Away captures a defining early chapter in Freddie Gibbs' rise, pairing his unfiltered street narratives with Statik Selektah's raw, boom-bap-driven production. Stripped of excess and heavy on realism, the project reflects an era where Gibbs' sharp lyricism and moral tension took center stage.
The original seven-track lineup features a strong cast of underground heavyweights including Slaine, Daz Dillinger, Reks, PUSH! Montana, Termanology, Fred The Godson, Trae Tha Truth, Smoke DZA, and Chace Infinite-anchoring the album firmly in the early 2010s hip-hop underground.
This limited edition vinyl reissue expands the original release with three bonus tracks: "Carry On" featuring Joey Ba-da$$, "Serve Or Get Served" (available on vinyl for the first time ever), and "Crushin' Feelings." Featuring brand new artwork by Alejandro Torrecilla and mastered for vinyl by Davide "Bassi Maestro" Bassi, this edition stands as an es-sential archival release for fans of Freddie Gibbs, Statik Selektah, and uncompromising hip-hop.

Release Info:
The OUER guys just live down the road from us in Berlin and we have been crossing paths many times these past years so it is with great joy we can finally present a full EP with their unique approach to electronic music on Dirt Crew Recordings. Since their debut on “HEIST” in 2016 Xaver and Oliver have consistently pushed their sound and production, on their own OUER imprint they released four EP’s up till now and the latest called “E” is just a few weeks old as we speak.
The A side opens with the title track “Stingray Nebula”, a bliss composition of layered arpeggios underlined by a deep sub bass, building steadily towards etheric strings setting in and descending again with a break beat ending that builds perfect grounds for the following dance floor stomper “Undine”. That second A side track is a great mix of Deep House and Electronica and is what makes OUER’s music so special, almost entering trance territories here but keeping those Chicago and Detroit references alive.
When we head over to the B side we encounter some new tracks that really made us want to release this EP in the first place. The beautiful “Thales” contains live bass and percussive instrumentation and is a crossover indie-tronica gem. Following that is the deep “Inside” where an “emo” piano themed House jam meets clever vocal sampling and filtered synth stabs to produce a great going groove. Closing out we have some real ambience electronica for you in “Train Ride to Bratsk”, again played mostly live and using acoustic instruments recorded in their Berlin studio the OUER guys are crossing borders again and turned out this piece of goodness.
Enter the world of OUER, we hope you like it as much as we do!

Release Info:
Dam Swindle's new 'Backyard Galaxy' EP is an ode to house music and the classic Swindle sound.
It's only been a few months since Dam Swindle released their highly acclaimed album "Open" and already the boys are back on Heist with a new release that takes you right back to the dancefloor. Where they've spent the better part of the last 3 years writing their album with all its sonic explorations and collabs, this new EP sees the duo return to their roots of club-ready house music. The 'Backyard Galaxy' EP comes with 4 high-energy house tracks made in their Amsterdam studio that have been road-tested all summer.
EP opener "Feel it much?" has all the ingredients of a classic Swindle heater, with warm pads, rich organic percussion and tons of soul. There's a simple and effective vocal running throughout the track that blends nicely with the classic house elements and electronic textures that are layered throughout the track. There's an effortless flow to this track and it comes as no surprise that it has been a highlight in their sets this summer.
The EP title track 'Backyard Galaxy' is an up-tempo Latin-themed jam with a hint of old school techno. The synth stabs hit you just right and the modulated vocal chops are a lovely boost for the build ups and add a touch of swing to a track that already has a tight groove. Add to that a huge breakdown and drum roll and you've got yourself a track that'll light up any dancefloor.
On the flip, we're moving into garage territory with the shuffling vibes of 'Rhythm Baby'. The current popularity of the genre is not missed on Dam Swindle, but when you look closely, you'll see this track is full of elements that the duo have built their legacy on. The vocal chops, transposed key samples and swing are all on point and work just as well below, as above 130 bpm if speed is your thing.
The EP closes with the NY-style house cut 'What you give', which reminds us of Dam Swindle's remix of Cinthie's Heist hit 'Won't U take me' with its lush organs and moody keys. It's perhaps the most classic house track they've made in a long time and you can hear they had a great time recording this. It's playful, vibey and catchy. Just the way we like it.
Dam Swindle might have delivered one of the standout cross-over albums of 2025, but on this EP the message is clear: Once a househead, always a househead.
As always, enjoy the music and play it loud!
Much love,
Heist HQ

Release Info:
Label mainstays Fouk just dropped the perfect dancefloor Bomb with ‘Mirage’ paired with a high-octane Elisa Bee remix
We all know Dutch duo Fouk from their soulful, bouncy take on house music. They’re also responsible for some of Heist’s biggest tracks like Kill Frenzy or their Lil Louis inspired 2021 release ‘Blue Steel’. On their new EP, the talented duo shows us a fresh side of their sound: the main-room hands-in-the-air-going-wild side. To top things off, Italian producer Elisa Bee made time in her busy schedule of DJ’ing and releasing for artists like Ben Sims on his Hardgroove imprint and Unknown to the Unknown to deliver a killer remix of the title track.
Fouk’s return to Heist after 3 years is a welcome one and with ‘Mirage’, they might just have given us their biggest house track in their decade spanning career. The track is built around a stuttering synth loop and a seductive female vocal chanting ‘What made you wanna…” The real star here is the bassline, which propels the track into a seriously infectious groove. Add some lush strings and moody changeovers and you’ve got yourself a full-blown dancefloor weapon. Mirage has been a staple in Dam Swindle’s sets for the past months and has been one of their set highlights ever since.
“Coffee” is one for the classic Fouk fans. It’s got lovely Rhodes, a joyous combination of whoo’s, snare-rolls and synth hits grooving on top of an infectious orchestral background loop. “Tapioca” is a hybrid latin-electronic groove that builds on punchy synths, live percussion and drunk keys to balance the energy of the track.
Elisa Bee’s remix of ‘Mirage’ is an intense percussive workout that builds on a breakbeat loop and a rave-bassline. The tempo is turned up a notch or 2 and that stutter synth and vocal of the original make this remix a wild warehouse affair.
Closing track of the EP is ‘Abalone’; A lovely bleep-house affair that still has a bit of that warehouse vibe. It’s got the perfect amount of distortion the drums while keeping things dreamy with some face-melting pads throughout the track.
As always, enjoy the music and play it loud!

Release Info:
It’s that time of the year again: we’re finishing our 6th year of Heist Recordings with our annual potpourri of remixes with this
year’s artists on ‘The Round up part VI’. This year, we’ve got a few really cool newcomers on the label like Demuir, Perdu and
Makèz, as well as label mainstays Fouk and yours truly delivering a great collection of remixes.
The EP starts off with label heads Detroit Swindle giving their high-energy take on Fouk’s ‘Need my Space’. They’ve chosen for
a stabby club version of the more introverted original, with different layers of synths building up alongside a pumping drum track
and a punchy Moog bassline. Check the break for a nice dreamy broken beat section before the track comes back into full
dancefloor madness.
Makèz have only just released their well-received debut EP and now they’re flanking Detroit Swindle on the A-side with their
remix of Perdu’s hit ‘Sacramento’. They replace the broken beat vibe of the original and instead go for a 4x4 track with a driving
bassline, warm pads and subtle placement of Perdu’s original elements.
On the B-side, we have Fouk reinterpreting Demuir’s take on Detroit Techno with their remix of ‘3nity returneth’. Their version is
a tom-heavy high-energy club track with a strong nod to the past, whilst still keeping that strong Fouk signature intact. They
mangle the vocal sample in a drunk and twisted break before setting the track back on fire with an extra acid line for good
measure.
The B2 goes to Perdu’s dreamy slow burning remix of Detroit Swindle’s classic house bomb ‘Music for clubs’. His version takes
the tempo down and dials the dreamy level up a notch. A mellow but punchy acid line and worldly synth hits give this remix it’s
cool twist and it’s a great showcase of Perdu’s view on the broad world of house music.
This year’s Round up finishes with Demuir’s trippy ‘playboy edit’ of ‘Random Visits’ by Makèz. He takes the vocal sample and
layers it behind a haunting string, dreamy keys and a steady groove. It’s got a funky vibe where Demuir’s knack for a good
groove fits perfectly with the fresh original.
The Round up is a special moment for us each year and we’re excited to share these reinterpretations of another year’s worth of
house from the world of Heist Recordings with you.
Yours Sincerely,
Lars & Maarten

cool twist and it’s a great showcase of Perdu’s view on the broad world of house music.

Release Info:
When we started Heist a few years back, our idea was to give a stage to talent in a same way as we have had a helping hand by the labels that have supported us from the beginning. Therefore, it's our pleasure to share this release with you by newcomers 'Ouer', a Berlin based duo with only a handful of tracks out so far on their self released debut last year. Their approach to producing is very much jam based, and with a compact collection of synths, drum machines and a fair level of distortion, they succeed in creating their own sound with hints of classic electronic music from Chicago and Detroit. There's a nice mix of energy on the whole EP, 'The ascent being the most driving track of the package'. Fans of classics MCDE tracks will love 'Show off' with it's dreamy DX7 style chords and cracking acid lines. 'Move over' feels like a jam session that was way too much fun with some lovely solo work on the synths, whereas 'Mess around' goes down in similar free-ride style on the synths and again, has some lovely sampling going on. An impressive ep we're just all too happy to have on our label.
Sincerely yours,
Lars & Maarten
