Australia's one-man storm of tropical funk Tornado Wallace returns to Beats In Space Records with the acid-flecked two-tracker, Kangaroo Ground & Ferntree Gully. Where Desperate Pleasures, his first EP for Beats In Space, distilled post-punk and electro influences into sun kissed sub-equatorial tones, Lewie Day's new 12 secretes lysergide and sweat from deep within a zero gravity dance bunker. 'Kangaroo Ground' shares the buoyancy of its spirit animal namesake, but grinds in high-gear with a shredded 303 line and monstrous groove more akin to a possessed croc. The record's flip, 'Ferntree Gully' sheds its scaly acid skin for softer sines and sirens signalling Italo productions past and built to last. A score to a surfer's dream wave or a runner's last stretch, Kangaroo Ground / Ferntree Gully ornaments Tornado Wallace's discography with another shining, kaleidoscopic sonic gem. Each 12" from Beats in Space Records features original artwork in considerate and serial form. This 12" threatens all arachnophobes in a half-mile radius care of Will Sweeney's Lite-rite tarantula. The packaging, constructed by Will Work For Good, features the signature removable vinyl BIS logo cling.

Last year Tornado Wallace touched down at the ESP Institute with his Thinking Allowed EP, a slab of wax that proved pivotal in his musical aesthetic, beautifully complimenting our catalogue. He ups the ante further with Circadia, his second 3-track EP that riffs on ESP themes whilst sophisticatedly amplifying their character. The title track lays trance-like arpeggiated vocals over thunderous tropical toms, opening up into an epic group chant. Time of Nectar coasts along, blanketing us with soft pads and soothing pan pipes before Jonny Nash's palm-muted Stratocaster makes its cameo. The essential house jam on the b-side, Soft Light, will no doubt pump its way through dance floors this Summer, don't sleep!

Detroit dub techno don Luke Hess says that this is his "most eclectic and techno-driven album to date" and that it blends together his signature subterranean sounds with his indelible Motor City touch. Sex Tags UFO presents the first part of the non stop ongoing HOUSE music collaboration between the Burger man and Berlin based DJ Sommer! Music created as house music as a FEELING!

A four track EP smashing out some fine underground house music, all with the mix of DJ Sommers studio skills and old-school hardware approach, and the Burger man's wonky touch! The almost weekly live session recorded in DJ Sommer's studio, then arranged and mixed at Casa de Fett bare some fruits, and here is their first record!

The opening track, the first one the duo ever produced. Heavy present bass and kicking 909, atmospheric deep soundscapes, and an emotional uplifting melody! Simple, basic and efficient. Heavy stomping groover and a classic house workout!

Second track a more mellow and relaxed tune, still got the groove and the 909, but this time with a classic Ibiza guitar to set the mood for the sunrise or sunset! Massive vibe, deep, emotional and groovy for a perfect vibe for promising events to come.

One the flip side another emotional house tune, with the driving present dance bass, a shuffled 909 workout to make it swing, the pads keeping it deep, sentimental and groovy! House music and the dreamscape meet.

The last tune on the record, a heavy acid house workout, loud, raw and unpolished in the edges, tougher than the previous tracks, but with an atmospheric pad that gives it deepens in combination with the intense landscapes of the drums and the acidic drips!

A versatile, simple, raw dance floor oriented HOUSE EP made in and for the underground!

A leader of the Portuguese wave in techno co-founding Hayes Collective while boasting acclaimed releases on Klockworks, Blueprint, and Soma, Temudo grabs the reins to take club music back to its days of audacity and risk taking. A more than promising up-and-comer turned modern reference, Temudo defends his reputation with a release showcasing depth in his various sonic universes and a deep understanding of his music's history. For its seventh release, Temudo's 'Meteora' is a logical next step for the club's direction - a sweet spot between dancefloor efficiency and enduring aesthetic.

Combining the intrigue of mental soundscapes with the reliability of imposing rhythm, 'Meteora' finds itself collected, expressing effect through restraint. The title track, claiming the EP's A1, is just that - a force of interweaving sound design and powerful micro transitions. Some believe the best techno records are able to express emotion and attitude despite its dissonant and machinelike nature; if that's the case then Temudo has mastered the craft. 'When I Grow Up', however, puts the focus back on the body. What sounds like warbling tape modulation over a percussive lead makes this record an addictively delirious ride from start to finish, fitting in with the track before while shifting to different priorities. Proving his versatility, 'Vrthng' at first seems reminiscent of the minimal Berlin style with a higher pace, but quickly progresses into something intensely euphoric. With experience and measure, an out of the box approach can really pay off, and the added emotion in 'Vrthng' is certainly a turning point in the EP. This mindset is clearly carried over in the project's conclusion : 'It's Always Past'. A surprising use of harmony and storytelling, this final chapter ends with Temudo sealing his style with confidence. The track is mystified by its chords, ending 'Meteora' with a question mark that leaves us in anticipation for what Temudo dares to do next.

Nathan Alexander returns on NIX with a hand-stamped white label, unveiling the Skin EP on the 2nd of May. Nathan set out to craft techno that drives the body while maintaining a magnetic sense of mystique: “I didn’t want to make techno that felt inherently evil,” he explains. “I wanted these tracks to carry that moment of stepping into a hidden corner of the night, with glowing lights and a strange, hypnotic tune you’ve never heard before. You look around and everyone is moving to this unearthly groove, with no motive but to dance.” This ethos resonates across all three cuts. “Language” opens with sharp synth stabs and an undercurrent of tension - ideal for setting a moody, yet inviting tone in the early hours. “Pulsewidth” follows, a peak-time stomper brimming with powerful low-end and surreal sound design to send floors into a collective frenzy. Closing out the record, “Skin” extends into a seven-minute dive through tribal-laced percussions, warped vocal snippets, and hypnotic filter sweeps. A true hip mover, perfect for those moments when reality starts to blur and dancers lose themselves to the groove. Label helmsman, Laurent Garnier delivers the first cut, setting the standard for "[QR]V.052.GMF.25". "Back Where I Belong (Solaris Mix)" is a monumental builder. Laurent once again brings his musical storytelling with layers upon layers of sound and melody alongside infectious beats.
Berlin resident and Survival Tactics label head, Tal Fussman is known for creating music that works in many settings and transcends genres. Fast becoming a COD3 QR regular having previously provided the deep "10247" for COD3 QR 016 and epic "If I Can" for "[QR]D.158.DWM.24". This time he returns with the upbeat "Waiting" and a heavy nod to retro soulful House.
Leading French producer Loloman creates music inspired by his extensive experience on the dancefloor alongside the roots of Detroit techno and Chicago house. On November's "[QR]D.320.MFS.24" he gave us "The Wall" which has now been masterfully reworked by Garnier.
Benny Rodrigues a.k.a. ROD unveils his new moniker, The Lost Souldancer. In his own words, Benny says: "The Lost Souldancer is about coping with the loss of what once was. Finding comfort in the invisible rather than what can be seen. Disconnect to connect in order to be loved rather than liked." "No More Voices" brings that feeling alive as a perfect closer to this soul-stirring EP.
