Rubini’s “Le Cahier de Occelli” marks 10 years! Dedicated to the legendary Group-B Rally era, it was our fourth release and one of the first to elicit a certain interest from the deep-house international scene at the time. To celebrate, we asked two of our beloved artists to remix this definitive slice of Degutibus Music electronica, with the results proving why we love them in the first place. Superpitcher delivered a 14-minute oneiric voyage of “Le Cahier de Occelli” whilst the B-side received a nervous blow-up from I:Cube for “Easyleft Henri” (the track originally dedicated to Henri Toivonen, Rubini’s personal hero).

For his discographic debut Degustibus has chooses to release Gin Sonic, a tune made by Rubini, an italian artist workin and livin between Venice and Berlin. Gin Sonic is a classy old-school track, made in Berlin but dreamed in a synthy-outerspace. Circular bassline swim in a invincible funky-beat and crush against a wall of synth providing you a sure dancefloor-filler. In addition they commissioned a remix from Berlin-legend DJ Filippo "Naughty" Moscatello. He made 2 versions, impossible to choose the better they included both in the release. Remix 1 is a dubby-hypno ride with a moroder-like dizzy bassline. Remix 2 is a perfect example of the best Naughty style: sharp bassline and vintage-synth blended together in an solid old-school disco journey. Already a classic.

In Fango’s own words: Around 3 years ago I became a father and that changed my life. This record it’s my son’s world seen through my eyes: the innersleeve artwork was made by him and the eye on the label is mine. All the titles are also taken from Carlo’s own dictionary: “E Dee” is the first sound he used to make trying to communicate, it could mean many things. “Mamuke” was mum, “Babuke” was dad, “L” (reads el) was his step brother Gabriele and Cang his step sister Camilla.

Ditongo is telling tales through samples and loops in these two tracks. While producing the Viscera trilogy, Fango has tried to understand something about himself. In order to do this, he had to enter into his own body, just like Dante entered hell, studying and analysing himself from the inside, diving through organs, guts and grey matter. Did it work? Yes and no, depending how you look at it. For sure, it helped him in the creation of 3 devastating and introspective EPs, but a lot of questions are still unsolved. Viscera part 3 is the last leg of a journey that disrupted your 2016 and marks the beginning of a new absurd phase for Fango, but this is another story.
