This debut album is the story of Austrian Apparel and their journey up to this day. “AAplus” stands for inclusion - it takes paths into the openness of sound. It shows two sides.
light and dark.
While the light side features tracks outside of the four-to-the-floor realm, the dark side showcases their club oriented material. Never leaving behind their signature sound forged from their expertise on stage and in the studio.
In coherence with their previous work, Austrian Apparel continue to explore an unconventional approach with their audio equipment, departing from a habitual studio process and emerging with a carefully condensed sonic episode of their journey.

Switching within digital binaries, analogue flux, and all forms of degradation in between, a creature is kickstarted to life, as if awoken with locomotion's full might. Helena Hauff delivers a mix for Tresor's Kern series, lashing together a sound world with a potent barrage of industrial dance music. Scorched-earth missives attract metals and mining chemicals, leaving little in its wake but aggravated and chaotic experiments of lateral hypotheses in acid brine. Like a hyperloop through this labyrinth, this high-velocity future is both beautiful and evil, glinting embers through low-bit fogged-out clusters. 100 metre-high aluminium pylons vibrate, each captivated by their electrified foundations. There is no place for dust to settle on the floor. Where a loose TB-tribalism knocks switches and pounds upward synaptic shocks, life down there is too rapid. Not to be taken lying down, this is the viable path forward without the shackles of turgid passivity. The eect is no less thrilling than crucial, as it presents an essential DJ of our times.
Settling into swift 150bpm groove, Hauff ploughs through shepherd-tone electro, ghetto bumps, and grizzled techno. A new collaborative track with Morah plays a rough game of meter, with Hauff's signature sound clear as ever ripping apart new dimensions with a brutal disorder over deceptive bass synths. The visceral crunch of the present is no more clear than at the halfway point, a threshold in which the breakneck electro falls apart, with the rabid foam of Nasenbluten's ballsy gabber anthem "Intellectual Killer". Slowly more room to breathe comes into view, the pace drawn down revealing a strange sense of resolution, with expansive synths hinting at a beckoning euphoria. At this moment, Helena Hauff is clearly in full stride, uniquely melding fragile machinations against anarchic human interventions.

From the murky depths of Berlin comes a monster, a wicked beast with two heads, a strange penchant for house music and the bizarre. Longhair is the duo made up of Marko aka Homeboy and Bene from Peak & Swift, two well known figures in the Berlin musical community who have begun to amass inter-est and intrigue as a production outfit, appearing on imprints like House Is OK and Bordello A Parigi. There is an unholy amount of musical ammunition ready to be unleashed upon the innocent world and it's bloody great.

There are plenty of influences from all kinds of corners in Longhair, from 80's synth sounds, to Italian dream house beats, but it clearly has its own vibe as they demonstrate on "The Forbidden Dance", their debut single for Paramida's Love On The Rocks label.

A ubiquitous summer hit in the making: a sure-fire combo of unforgettable melody, nostalgia kicks, totally dreamy production and the sound of seagulls. On the flip, we find the Rhumba mix, a mostly beatless counterpart, perfect for DJs that want to get creative.

Longhair's take on house music is emerging as a sound of their own; groovy, very danceable but laid back, marked by a progressive approach and a softer attitude and ultimately an ideal match for Love On The Rocks.

Commissioned by the Ethnographic Museum of Geneva (MEG), Jean-Jacques Birgé composed a work based on the MEG's International Archives of Folk Music (IAFM). Perspectives for the 22nd Century includes 31 pieces recorded between 1930 and 1952 and compiled by Constantin Br?iloiu (1893-1958), founder of the IAFM and an authoritative reference in the field of traditional music.

Perspectives for the 22nd Century is written on the basis of an anticipation scenario where the survivors of the disaster of 2152 live on the ruins of the MEG and decide to rebuild themselves from the archives discovered on site. The composition mixes acoustic instruments, some of which belong to the MEG collections, virtual instruments and sound archives.
A disturbing echo of current events, Perspectives for the 22nd Century is a sound fiction following the journey of humans who must reinvent themselves. In these times of questioning about the future of the planet and of humanity, Jean-Jacques Birgé wanted to dedicate this work to C.F. Ramuz and Vercors.

This CD is the fifth title to appear in the series of recordings published by the MEG and devoted to contemporary creations composed on the basis of its sound archives.

Alva Noto returns to his much awaited Xerrox project with Vol. 4, the fourth installment of the five-piece intended series based on the concept of digital replication of source material.
Using the process of copying as a basis, the Xerrox series deals with the manipulation of data by means of endless reproduction. Due to the inherent fallacy of the procedure involving the making of copies made from
other copies, everyday’s sounds become so altered that they can be hardly associated with the source material. As a result, entirely new sounds are created: copies of originals become originals themselves.
Following Xerrox Vol. 1 (2007), Vol. 2 (2009), Vol. 3 (2015), Carsten Nicolai continues the pentalogy eluding the accuracy and precise sound design for which he’s renowned, and turning to a more harmony-driven composition technique.

Unlike the previous Xerrox albums, whose starting point is a set of samples extracted from external sources and fragments of recordings, Vol. 4 compounds under a unified cinematic soundscape, warm chords, thrumming digital ambiences, liquified
electronics, drones, and noise sustained by floods of strings. The tension between the organic warmth and static curves, broads tones into distant roars and electronic cascade of sounds.
While Alva Noto's oeuvre is predominantly affiliated with pristine sound design, Xerrox holds more intimate
gestures and emotional sensibility. This fourth volume shuns further from the conceptualism and orderliness of prior musical outputs, ranging from heart-warming elegies to mind-bending sci-fi projections in extrasolar territories.

The premise for Quindi Records is simple – to represent music with a universality at its core.
Without adhering to specific genre tropes, the releases are intended to have a meaning and
purpose in all kinds of situations – a social soundtrack as much as a stimulating experience,
feeding emotions and the psyche with a sentimental palette of sounds. Lovers’ music, loners’
music, music for friends and family alike.
Woo makes for a perfect choice to meet this loose concept head-on – the music of Clive and
Mark Ives straddles disparate worlds and finds its own peculiar balance. On one hand it’s
delicate synthesizer music with a minimalist bent, while on the other their joyous, twinkling
harmonies have an immediacy that speaks to the soul. You can detect privacy in their craft – the
brothers originally recorded their music in relative isolation in London in the 70s, 80s and early
90s. It’s only in recent years their sublime work has enjoyed a wider audience through an
extensive run of reissues.
Arcturian Corridor
? presents a rare, previously unreleased piece of music from Woo – the
expansive suite of the title track that unfurls across five parts. It’s an enchanting listen that
shows a new breadth and depth to the duo – detailed drum programming and a broader palette
of synth tones cascading in elegant unison. The name refers to Arcturus, the fourth brighteststar in the night sky. As Woo themselves explain, “The Arcturian Corridor is said to be a channel
of light that brings unconditional love and wisdom from Arcturus to Earth.”
In addition to the 20-minute A-side piece, Woo also presents a new version of “Love On Other
Planets”, a standout piece from their 1990 album ?Into The Heart of Love? . The fragile subtlety of
the original has been embellished here with rich new passages that turn it into a kind of
electronica epic, although still marked out with the sensitivity one expects from a Woo record.
Two remixes complete the set, both furthering Quindi’s modus operandi as a genre-agnostic
force for cosmically charged music. Dublin’s Wah Wah Wino collective present their Wino
Wagon manifestation for a tastefully strange house version of the fifth part of “Arcturian
Corridor” that channels the freakiness of Pepe Bradock, the robo-funk of Metro Area and a
soupcon of pop nous. British duo Ultramarine maintain the stylistic ambiguity as they channel
decades of expressive experimentation between live band dynamics and machine soul on their
version of the title track’s second chapter.

Watergate’s emphasis on the finest emerging talent continues, with the label debut of GLOWAL.
The Italian duo arrive on the imprint with a fine pedigree, having landed stirring releases on Innervisions,
Afterlife, Sapiens and Diynamic all in the last 18 months. They similarly impressed during their maiden
WG club gig last October on the Waterfloor.
The four-tracker ‚Night Queen’ masterfully manages to eschew a familiar club sound for something alltogether uplifting, nostalgic and captivating, courtesy of their powerful arrangements and strong leads. The
title track is driven by ‘80s synths and pop sensibilities, while owning enough low-end groove to propel a
dancefloor (or home rave set-up). ‘Moment’ provides just that; a shining jewel of a track, dying to be
played at that delicious end-of-night moment, as Simon Batten’s soaring vocal bring the collective masses
to their proverbial knees. ‘Enigma’ is characterised by a robotic vocal that slides over sparse drums and a
