Info:
Huxley follows up last year's '2.0' and the launch of his No Idea's Original imprint with 'Widow', released late Jan via
Will Saul's Aus imprint.
Huxley's '2.0' marked a new phase in Huxley's production output with the Brit eschewing his previous sample driven
work in favour of tougher drums, prominent synths and tweaky arrangements. 'Widow' continues Huxley's explorations
into pastures new with three tracks that fold a myriad of influences into refreshingly new shapes while highlighting
the producer's love of melody.

A1. Have It Like That A2. No Time B1. Get To This B2. 120
Info:
Sublime and slinky four tracker from James Dexter on Dessous Recordings - Steve Bug's label for the deeper side of house. The Young Brit shows his mastery of the form with an EP that combines effortlessly club-ready grooves with exceptional sound design and a strong melodic sensibility. Dexter clearly know a thing or two about creating dance floor moments, with each track exhibiting a classiness that belies his age. Have It Like That kicks things off with a chugging, hypnotic feel and crisp drums providing the basis for a cool vocal hook and thick, warm bass. No Time gets a shade deeper and no less funky, while Get To This points a little further towards the center of the dance floor. Closing track 120 goes even further into the late night vibes with a seriously infectious groove.

Short info:
Loco Dice's Desolat kicks off 2016 with a brilliant new EP from Romanian trio Premiesku aka long term friends Livio, Roby and George G. They have close associations with the label and have done for years, and after their great debut album Indirect in 2012, are now a very real force in the dance world.
The trio is also famed for its live show, which is performed using specially made consoles and has seen them headline all over Europe from Timewarp to Watergate to Rex in Paris. With releases on labels like 2020Vision and Vakant, this really is a fantastic outfit that once again comes up trumps here.
Opener "Altitude" is seven minutes or irresistible electronic funk. Jostling drums and odd synth sounds dance next to each other and you will too. Machines get loose and spit out soulful sounds and odd hooks and the whole thing keeps you locked for the duration. "Bucur" is a more peak time techno cut with forceful kicks driving it along, occult little alien sounds and snatched vocal parts that are fluid and free flowing and will really get under the skin of any dancefloor in expert fashion.
"Neo" then finds the Romanians going for a more minimal aesthetic with slick rubbery drums making a punchy pattern down below as heavenly female vocals up top add a key human element. Some spiritual melodies also explode above the groove and ensure that minds will be well and truly blown when this one is dropped. Lastly, the excellent "Permut" is a dubby roller with a fat and heavy bottom end that is impossible to ignore. It has some classic techno synths lighting it up and is the sort of hypnotic affair that will really stand out in the coming months.
With this essential new EP Premiesku continue to go from strength to strength.

Tracklist: A1 Invisible Objects , A2 Unholy Trance , B1 New Age of Smokin , B2 Dance of the Drunk
Following an erotic adventure in the jungle on his own Moonlighting imprint, Øyvind Morken returns to Full Pupp, with Invisible Objects. Øyvind Morken ventures into the functional aspects of dance music for his latest EP, calling on his invaluable experiences from the DJ booth and moulding them into four dance floor tracks that highlight the more mysterious corners of Oslo’s dance floors.
Built on the foundation of syncopated high hats and elastic Juno bass sequences that have become the Oslo DJ’s trademark sound palette, Invisible Objects finds Morken in a coy mood. Catchy melodic phrases repeat over driving rhythm sections, constructed from Morken’s vast knowledge and experience of the dance floor. Øyvind ingrains a mysterious air in the title track as the main melodic phrase drifts off its central pitch in a woolly distraction from the precise rhythm section. Unholy Trance’s Theremin-like central motif carries this sentiment through on the A-side, creating a hazy B-movie aesthetic against the backdrop of the primal pulse that has transcended the jungle for the cold solitude of space.
Morken is nothing but a curator of mood, taking the experience of the DJ booth once again to the recorded format. As Invisible Objects moves over to the B-side, the producer tones things down with the lusciously serene New age of Faith, a cover of LB Bad´s classic Nu Groove record from 1989, before making the final ominous statement with Dance of the Drunk, a track forged in the bowels of an electro beat while metallic bass-stabs make a sizeable impression in the speaker cabinet, before moving onto its next victim.

FURTHER 100! - CD Version - reverse board digipack cd
Fact Mag: Fans of austere and superbly crafted techno may be familiar with Nuel through his 00s Aquaplano Sessions with fellow Italian artist Donato Dozzy, which were deservedly reissued a couple of years ago on Spectrum Spools.
- 2nd album after his 2011 debut on Further 'Trance Mutation' and his first new music in 5 years
Tracklist CD:
1. Steppin' Stone (3:30) 2. Polaris (6:05) 3. Hyperboreal (9:10)
4. -Om (7:30)5. Be Well (8:01) 6. The Rest is Noise (4:07)
Italian DJ and producer Manuel Fogliata hasn't released a lot of records over the last ten years, but the few he has put out have always been worth tracking down. Perhaps best known for his work alongside Donato Dozzy in creating the much sought-after Aquaplano records at the tail end of the last decade, Nuel's solo outings have been just as consistent and just as impressive. Whether taking on metallic electro or syrupy, bass-heavy ambience, Nuel's attention to detail and his keen ear for a groove has made each release something to treasure.
Nuel's only previous full-length, Trance Mutation (Further Records, 2011), was a masterpiece of minimal repetition. It was possessed of a gossamer-light surface, all trippy rhythms and wonderfully playful melodies, but it was deep too. Made with just one microphone and a handful of instruments in his studio in a small Italian town, it's one of those records that can somehow present the whole of a track in the first few bars but stay fascinating for ten minutes or more. While initial impressions might suggest little in the way of continuity between the organic tribalism of Trance Mutation and the colder, more mechanic sounds of Hyperboreal, Nuel's ability to go deep into a particular mood, a particular sound, links the two. An expert in the art of minuscule variations, Nuel's compositions are always changing, always evolving somewhere within their ecosystem.
"Each time I decide to make new music I try something different, something never I did before, and I start thinking at the choice of the sources, the set-up and so on," says Fogliata. "It's really difficult for me doing the same thing twice. It's seriously a challenge, I don't know why. Maybe because part of the inspiration come from this process. The worst thing in doing the same thing twice is that the excitement for a new experiment and research is gone, and I can't go anywhere from that. So if there is any continuity between releases, which is not what I'm looking for, it could be some traces of my way of approaching music, and my taste."
Like its predecessor, Hyperboreal was made with the minimum of fuss. Recorded using just one semi-modular synth - the boutique and sadly discontinued Ekdahl Polygamist - and a handful of pedals, the album came together in just a few days while Fogliata was staying with Giuseppe Tillieci (aka Neel - famed mastering engineer and one-half of Voices From The Lake) at his apartment in Rome. The Polygamist's combination of modular flexibility with the aesthetic cohesion of a complete instrument was the inspirational spark which set the album in motion.
"I fell in love with it from the first sight," says Fogliata of the synth. "Aesthetics are very important to me, if I don't like the way a synth looks like I can't get anything from it. Just like when meeting a nice person but there's no physical attraction, it can be a good friendship, nice conversations but 'love' is missing, and making music is making love so this aspect has a huge influence on creativity. Being surrounded by beauty makes me feel better and reinforces the positive feedback."
Hyperboreal begins ambiguously, the fluttering dissonance of 'Stepping Stone' immediately setting the mood. It's dark but not gloomy, not resigned. There's something shadowy about its contained aggression, like it might lash out at any minute. It doesn't. Through the winding paths of the following tracks - 'Polaris', 'Hyperboreal', '-Om' - nothing becomes clearer, nothing moves towards any kind of resolution. The flutters of the opening track become a swirling mass on 'Polaris', and a venomous rattle on the title track. '-Om' sees things calm just a little - the maddening, almost frantic pulsations of the previous tracks slowing, evening out into a bed of twitching feedback and resonant echoes. There's even a hint of a regular beat, barely audible beneath the buzzing tones of synthesised electricity.
"Intensity plays a fundamental role in what I do," says Fogliata, and listening to the opening half of Hyperboreal, you'd have to take him at his word. These are not casual sonics.
'Be Well', the penultimate track' marks a change; from dissonance to a sort of consonance, a lifting of the shadows that have so far lingered around the record. It feels, in a peculiar way, almost uplifting, like watching ice melt in the sunlight. The record closes with 'The Rest is Noise', and though it seems to return again to a darker place, it does so with the memory of sunlight, warmth, and life. Suddenly the noise is not oppressive, but comforting. It is gentle, welcoming, as it closes around you.
As its title suggests, this is an album for colder climates, for stark and inhospitable landscapes. Its opening side is tough going at times, a truly unsettling void of vaporous tones, a blizzard of sound refusing to coalesce, refusing to make sense. Slowly though, Hyperboreal opens itself up to the listener, emerging patiently from an abyssal darkness into a beauty as still, as sharp and as breathtaking as an Arctic dawn.

Tracklist: A. Snake Language, B1. Calo, B2. Yama
For the 7th release on Love On The Rocks, we welcome the Mexican duo Zombies in Miami for a three track EP titled “Snake Language”. The title track is a raw an haunting drum heavy number. On the flip comes “Calo” with its twisting riffs that wind and turn alongside percussive interludes. “Yamo” changes the pace but is no less impressive with climactic flutes and a driving bass line. El Fuego completes the release as a digital exclusive. With this EP, the Zombies in Miami are literally on fire!

Tracklist:
A. Ravisher
B1. Let Me Be feat. Jerry The Cat
B2. Let Me Be (Kirk Degiorgio Instrumental Remix)
Short info:
The Midnight Shift White Label series (MNSW) features full EPs from the label's artists. Where mood meets melody.
Following the emotive and personal 'The Journey' EP from Eddie Niguel, Kaspar (Lisbon, Portugal) and former RBMA participant in '05 now brings his 'Sisyphean Rage' EP to the table.
Of the legend of Sisyphus and his endlessly laborious and futile effort this EP is not. Instead, it is a remarkable breakthrough for the long-standing artist, with combined light from both Detroit's Jerry The Cat and the ever uncompromising Kirk Degiorgio for the remix.
The leading track, 'Ravisher' sees Ka§par flexing his mettle under the spotlight. The ruff n' tuff house-meets-techno tumble will perk the ears of even the most seasoned listener as ripe for the dancefloor. An original composition is paired with comfortable expression, and casts a new stone in the heart of both genres.
The B side shows the other side of Ka§par and delightfully, makes just as a powerful impression. One may know Jerry The Cat as a producer, DJ or percussionist on Theo Parrish and Moodymann productions, but the multi-talented cat puts on his singer-lyricist hat here for the personal anthem 'Let Me Be'. Backed by Ka§par's mod take on proto electro, it's a revival gem captured on vinyl.
On B2, Kirk Degiorgio completes the all-rounded package with a less-says-more emotional instrumental, waiting needle to groove for that perfect moment. A vocal version remix of 'Let Me Be' is also available from Kirk Degiorgio as a digital bonus.

Beautifully Designed 1LP, 180g Vinyl
Press kit:
Following his Extended Play EP on Other People last year, Jream House is the turbulent and spiritual debut LP of Mark Hurst aka A Pleasure.
Blending mathematical composition with an unrestrained studio experimentalism, the sound of A Pleasure charts a space where formative influences confront the most immediate performative impulse. Using a process of numerical transposition, the names of personally significant bands and composers are converted into drum patterns. He then lets loose, improvising around these structures with a variety of traditional and unorthodox instruments: bass and guitar, bowed cymbals, drum machines juggled like turntables, blowtorch on aluminium, to name but a few. With his influences as start-points, he builds rhythmic structures literally in their namesake, blasting their hulls with walls of noise, monolithic basslines and any other jam-yielded shrapnel.
Despite the chaos and complexity of the process, the results sound neither clinical, nor garbled. The tracks always find their way to an emotive melody or strong groove. Lush guitar strums and yearning keys ride the high-speed beat of "Slow Channel", which seems to soar through cloud-cover as one snaking mass. "The Order of Things" folds a cosmic guitar-part into a backdrop of heavily side-chained noise. "Arthur Russell" features a neck-snapping rim-shot and crushed snare that splash up the bits of an elegiac vocal part. Through violent and idyllic atmospheres, Jream House jettisons its inspirations like landing shuttles, always in search of new ground. These are songs, not just experiments.

ryogo yamamori - resource
Tracklist:
A1. Hasu B1. Overwork B2. Resource
Info:
Tokyo touch down: Ovum welcomes one of Japan's most consistent techno producers in recent years… Ryogo Yamamori. The man behind the well-respected 951 imprint and a DJ schedule that frequently sees him demonstrating dark strategies from Korea to Canada, Ryogo makes his Ovum debut with a tight tech triptych. Crisp, penetrative and wholly uncompromised, each cut is detail designed for the dancefloor. We ignite with the vibrant hypnosis of 'Hasu'. Its literal translation of lotus means everything; from a sturdy stem of filtered hook insistency, grainy kicks and nutrient-rich bass, a bright sonic flower blooms in every direction.
'Overwork' follows: A lean mean groove machine galvanised by a woozy 808 that bubbles ominously. Occasionally dropping into a detuned pool of paranoia, our senses are heightened by metallic alien stabs that rise gradually and, at points, menacingly.
Proceedings are brought to a heightened warehouse-ready climax as we conclude with 'Re-Source'. An angular acid track that taps deep into the Ovum genus, it hits with timeless class as minimal elements make the maximum impact; a spiked out acid riff, thunderous kicks and precision-placed rifle-like claps ensure the full physical tech experience.
From blooming tech house to late night warehouse nihilism by way of lightning strike peaktime grooves, Ryogo has indeed delivered the holy tech trinity here. Let us know what you think…

Info:
The second outcome on Retrograde signifies the first release of head-honcho Marlon Hoffstadt on his and Natureboy Gold's new imprint. After a short timeout the young Berlin producer presents his new work on this four-tracker in collaboration with Chicago House Music icon and pioneer Paris Brightledge, accountably for releases since 1987 on substantial labels such as DJ International Records. He recently delivered the vocals on Paranoid London's killers 'Paris Dub 1 & 2'. 'Smile' the title track of the EP, highlights Paris' ability to hypnotize the dance floor with his unique voice combined with Marlon's production smoothness. With 'Smile' Paris displays: 'torn from the angst of my soul concerning the tragedy of love and life lost'. 'Smile' got a special treatment by Detroit's very own Kris Wadsworth. His Venus Rx Remix lived up to its name and has some 'pretty nasty analog stuff going on' to catapult yourself right into the atmosphere. The B-side 'Lies' discusses how coming from the streets doesn't always allow feelings to be displayed in life or in love. It's a percussion driven, 303 based club workout. No rest for dancers on this one. Remix comes from label artist Matteo Luis, providing a more synth accented version, introducing an engrossing sound that will be continued on his upcoming RTGD 003. The EP is Paris' and Marlon's first collaboration and we can already promise it won't be the last one on Retrograde. Every copy comes with a full cover artwork by Hermann Reimer.

Tracklist:
A Sharp Bust B1 Rushchamber B2 Flat Chat
Short info:
The energy and versatility we're used to when Reinier Zonneveld takes the decks is immediately evident in his latest EP. Opening preceedings with "Sharp Bust", a straight and to the point trancy bassline leads the way. Decked by mechanic stabs and hi-hats, the groove is simply hypnotic and relentless. "Rushchamber", on the other hand, bears a subversive groove, with a minimal and dark bassline. Glitchy cut up vocals give an eerie feel, as the whole atmosphere becomes more and more immersive by the way of multi-layered drums. The final offering, "Flatchat" is anything but flat. Its intricate groove shares the dark and immersive territory of the previous track, while another set of cut up vocals draw instant attention. A descending lead padded with reverb and stabby synths, the last track rounds up the release, ending on a grave and intense note.

A1: Punta Christo B1: Reverse Polarity B2: Smell of Rain
Infotext:
VDR009 "Punta Christo" marks the debut artist EP of London techno duo Our Mutual Friend. Glenn Middleditch and Mark Leigh are primarily known around London for their monthly "Friends of Ours" night in Peckham, which has allowed them to hone their live set alongside guests like Jane Fitz and Juju and Jordash, and their recently launched "Mutual Friend Recordings" label which made a splash earlier this year with a strong EP from STL. It was in fact that acclaimed producer who first connected the pair with Voodoo Down when they began looking for other labels to branch out on.
The EP consists of three diverse but complementary tracks: the title track being the atmospheric club-ready anchor, "Reverse Polarity" a rolling bass-and-tom workout, and "Smell of Rain" the psychedelic slow burner. This record caps off a fruitful year for the group (the title "Punta Christo" pays homage to the Dimensions Festival venue where they played for the first time over the summer), and hints at great potential and willingness to explore.

inoue shirabe - Function Spring
2
inoue shirabe - Gravitation Of Acidtree
Inoue Shirabe is no newcomer for those who have been following Antinote’s releases last year. With Function Spring / Gravitation Of Acidtree, his third release on the Parisian imprint, the Okayama’s producer delivers what may be his two most sophisticated tracks so far. With Function Spring, Inoue Shirabe continues to investigate the subtle equilibrium between opposite feelings of sadness and joy that he successfully reached on Down Into The Black Church, on his previous 12”. This time, the Japanese producer uses celestial elements (bells, an organ in the distance that we can hear punctually) to counterbalance the roughness of the rhythmical section, in order to plunge the listener into a profound state of meditation. On Gravitation Of Acidtree, Inoue Shirabe crosses that thin line, breaks the balance between contrary feelings and sketches a desolate landscape. Using a myriad of analogue bleeps and synth lines – which erratically appear and disappear – he stretches the track before finally letting it reach its long-awaited climax.

Whirling Hall of Knives is a collaboration between Trensmat founders Magnetize and The Last Sound. Harsh smouldering circuits and eruptions of panicky white noise have a profoundly unsettling quality, a sense of gnawing paranoia but interspersed with moments of almost euphoric epiphany, as if in the grip of an unshakeable 4am psychosis a growing sense that the door will be kicked in at any second and the world outside will come pouring in. Psyche electronics of a particularly greasy and grime-flecked hue... The remix comes courtesy of Downwards duo, Talker. The American duo of Karl Meier and Jon Krohn (a.k.a Stave) turn in a heavyweight version of 'Vacuulum' on the flip...

Heralding from Brighton, married (production) couple Sam and Tracy presented Classic with some music Classic was very familiar with. Not only is Sam a member of the legendary Gramme, but has also featured on a number of past Luke Solomon originals for Classic…so are already part of the extended family. Classic immediately warmed to the music and the music already felt at home. Looking for the right remixer begun - Classic played the tracks to long-time member of Crazy P - a certain Mr Basejam and immediately leapt to them and remixed not one – but both of the records on the EP as he loved them both so much. The result is a meeting of minds sounds and words.

Fusing forces from Norway and Ghana for Crosstown Rebels is Djuma Soundsystem & Yann Coppier Feat. King Ayisoba, with the expertly crafted ‘Anyimo’ a African infused techno beast of a track, featuring remixes from DJ and producer Ibadan kingpin Jerome Sydenham and the illusive Johnny Aux who brings his signature acid house sound. King Ayisoba originates from Ghana and has been sharing his modern day twist on kologo music all over the world. Norwegian in origin, Djuma Soundsystem has been creating music and touring the world for over a decade on labels such as Rebirth, Eskimo and Noir. The two creative forces have combined here to create a truly unique afro-infused head turner of track with King Ayisoba superb Ghanaian vocals. The legendary Jerome Sydenham delivers two floor-filling interpretation of the original, both vocal an Ibadan dub, hike the tempo and hit the floor running. Also, Johnny Aux delivers a rib rattling techno take on the original with devastating effect..

The cyovac machine is held together by a team of like minded artists that work to move production forward. Cryovac functions to preserve the soundcraft of thees artists into the vinyl format. Cryovac vinyl is pressed by A.Garcia at Archer Record Press in Detroit. The Cryovac operates to push music that represents the soul of its maker. Sierra Sam and Pascal Hetzel bring the smooth techno feel of Berlin and an analog savvy to fist side of cryovac #14. They combine for two minimal machine soul bangers that zone your mind and move your body. Spam Burrito is the creation of A.Garcia and Kieth Kemp. This combination rocks out choice wavs that have been tweeked to perfection under the rising and falling of effects. Dave Powers choses the low key emotional path of ever an evolving synth moving an intelligent knock. The 14th edition of Cryovac is a must hear.

There is no rest for Constant Sound, because the label quickly follows up top tracks and remixes from the likes of Paolo Rocco, Nail and Steve O'Sullivan with this new offering from Constant, aka the boss men themselves, namely Jon Woodall and Burnski. It also comes with remixes from Blackhall & Bookless, S.A.M and A Scott. The Constant pair are well versed in house music in all its guises, both as DJ and producers, and it shows once again here. Their first cut, 'Dub Life', is a slithering, slippery and frictionless house roller with tunnelling percussive patterns, restless drums and myriad synth smears that really pull you down into a seductive groove. Subtle vocals add character and ensure this one will keep 'floors locked for days. Acclaimed London based, Geordie raised duo Blackhall & Bookless then step up. As well as running their own night and label under the Jaunt banner, they play all over Europe and Ibiza so are well travelled talents. Their remix is a fired up, peak time techno leaning bomb with barreling kicks, ravey stabs and Detroit referencing pads that really grab your attention. The S.A.M. reshape then offers up elastic, spaced out deep house vibes with airy hi hats, lots of height in the drums and plenty of feeling in the slithering synth lines that lace up the track. Closing out the package is a remix from returning label artist A Scott, who appeared on the second EP alongside Chad and once again impresses here. His fine remix is a lovably flabby and cavernous track with oodles of reverb, rattling train track like grooves and atmospheric pads that swirl all around you as you drift in his air beats. It rounds out another assured and accomplished package from Constant Sound.

After the success of last year's Various Artists Backpack EP, French house label D3 Elements is back with another fine four track affair that pulls together some key producers. Detroit soulful house star Terrence Parker is back once again, and he is joined by D-Knox, Dan Curtin and TechElectro. It is Cleveland man Dan Curtin, a veteran of labels like Peacefrog, Metamorphic and Bass Culture. His cut 'House Spirits' is a summery, feel good house roller with trilling keys and organic chords all making for a jazzy vibe. Then comes a more synthetic and abstract cut, 'Stars That Never Die', from TechElectro aka the fearsome American techno duo of Solid Gold Playaz, who also release as Dark Matrix. Full of beeps and squeaks, smooth chords and broken rhythm, their cut is a truly original concoction that is sure to standout in any set. On the flip side, D-Knox aka Groove Man, who has been producing spiritual techno since the 90s, offers 'Summer Beach Time,' a cool as you like track with breezy chords, radiant pads and wooden sounding percussion flapping along next to the drums. It's a fresh and original production that sounds like little else, and then it is to Detroit's positive force, Terrence Parker, for 'So Beautiful.' Deep and romantic, laid back and soothing, it is a sweet as you like house jam with magic chords and plenty of heart warming grooves. Once again, D3 Elements serve up proper house music with real feeling.

San Proper gushing on DG..small initial pressing on this one... be quick... TIP! San: “Lovers, friends, fam. and fans – Love is in the air, get ready.” Finally, the craze you’ve all been waiting for. This EP listens like one of Dr. Proper’s infamous radio show or deejay set. Impossible to categorize; dropping House, Electro, Funk, and paying homage to Disco. L.O.V.E. is a collaboration with Ms. Hollywood. An alliance that results in the whole breathing sexy and deep. Whereas San Proper stays in character for the rest of the EP. His use of the reverb adds shine and glory, and the drums are hit hard. In other words, music with an unprecedented character–just the way we like it. Above all; one to keep safely in your bag at all times

This is the seventh Surgeon album. "While exploring new production techniques using old and unlikely hardware, the results were so unusual that I really had the sense that these pieces of equipment didn't actually create these sounds, rather they were in fact some kind of elaborate reception device that allowed me to tune into transmissions from Distant Galaxies. The music I could hear was actually the received transmissions of Pop Hits from those Distant Galaxies that were being played on their radio stations. I quickly recorded all that I could before losing the transmission. I consulted with Dr Andrew Read, the astrophysicist with whom I recorded Guitar Treatments in 1999. He has worked on the discovery of the most distant galaxies and astronomical objects in the Universe. Together we came up with a possible list of where these musical transmissions may have come from." Tracklist: 1. EGS-zs8-1, 2. z8_GND_5296, 3. SXDF-NB1006-2, 4. GN-108036, 5. BDF-3299, 6. Given that he's always approached life with a cheery gusto, there's something rather ironic about Tim 'Love' Lee being involved in making a track called "Living Is Serious Business". Happily, he has man-of-the-moment Aaron 'Fit' Siegel by his side. The duo's original version is something of a trippy, late-night treat, with dubbed-out keys and percussive flourishes riding a dark Detroit bassline and fizzing, Motor City techno groove. It sounds like something that the brothers Fett would release on Sex Tags Mania, which is definitely a bonus in our book. Carl Craig does a sterling job on his flipside remix, retaining some of the original's eccentricity while adding a sweet melodiousness and production polish all of his own.

With the inaugural release "Show Yourself", Xosar introduces her new label Gyrocyre. When people on our planet hold built up psychic tensions under the skin, the energy gestates in a womb-like growth until it's ready to burst through the flesh manifest as a creature called a Gyrocyre. Many people opt out of ever letting the beast emerge, happy to function at levels they can predict without having to face the challenge brought on by the Gyrocyre. It grows heavy and bloated with untapped potential. Those who embrace the change slice through the flesh and let it out. It fuses with the host, covering his or her skin like a mask. Depending on the nature of their heart, it gives them tools to save or destroy the world. We invite you to embrace the change and let your Gyrocyre out.

Monoloc makes his debut on Hotflush recordings, the label’s first release of 2016. Following a recent single on Innervisions and an appearance on Life & Death, his latest offering ‘Another Thing’ marks a departure into more atmospheric soundscapes. The murky grandeur of the title track lends itself to moody textures that build in narrative, walking a knife-edge between industrial techno and minimalist dub. ‘TrySome’ conjures the setting of a dilapidated warehouse rave at 5am, while ‘Makeless’, with its low-slung percussive elements draped over misty pads and imposing bass, draws the listener further into Monoloc’s wormhole.

A firm favourite in the Hot Creations camp, Jey Kurmis is back on board the label following his recent ‘Kari EP’ with another killer release in the form of the
‘Not Too Flabbeh’ EP. The release features two-standout originals, with a heavy duty re-edit of a third original from label boss Jamie Jones. Not too Flabbeh' features Belgium producers Nukov & Yelmet, creating a bona fide ‘hit!’ complete with tongue in cheek, catchy vocals, rolling bass, and infectious groove, it’s a winner! Jamie Jones steps up again, this time to do a reedit of 'Farno, a four to the floor edgy killer. Last up is ‘Monkle’ with its tripped vocals and old school stabs! Having honed his production skills for seven years, Jey Kurmis is really starting to see the fruits of his labour. His career has steadily been on the rise from his first release on Phobic Records to his artist defining EP for Hot Creations last year, and particularly since he joined the NGE Agency. Ark & Pit Spector continue their inspired journey with an extended EP full of groovy jams and absorbing rhythms for Hold Youth. The Frenchmen have formed a potent alliance with a series of expertly-crafted, high-quality releases dropping over the last couple of years. On this new EP they go deeper into their sound explorations with five original works and a remix from their Parisian buddy and Hold Youth member, Le Loup. First up, we go into bumping jazzy territory with ‘Chauffage Central’, a mesmerising cut with swirling pads, soulful vocal clips and a jaunty b-line. Straight up after that, Hold Youth rudeboy Le Loup gives ‘Chauffage Central’ a funky little rework, throwing live sounding percussion, Nubian vocal clips, trumpet parps and a pumping bassline into the mix which gives a totally different identity. The final track on side A, is a cheeky teaser called ‘Petite Ondée’. Rolling out for just under two minutes the track has a muffled, jazz-esque feel to it with a warm rolling bassline and bright, sparkling piano keys. On the flip we kick off with ‘Air Conditionelle’, a lush, retro feeling with those oh-so-familiar heavy-hitting eighties snare licks. The bassline takes you to a New York City street and the whole atmosphere is that of an old school NYC neighbourhood, while a spoken-word sample adds a human touch just before the track comes to an end. ‘Sub Tropical’ goes a little leftfield with an unusual combination of sounds in tandem with a pulsating low end, occasional sax licks and punchy percussion to give it plenty of energy. ‘Averse Et Contre Tous’ closes out the EP with a slothish ride into the sunset – Ark and Pit Spector show their experimental side presenting an odd union between blues samples, gruff electronic sounds and piano keys. Another triumphant effort from Ark and Pit Spector, in fact, some of the finest work to date. Make sure you check it out!

acid mondays - GARALDO (Original Mix)
2
acid mondays - GARALDO (John Dimas Rmx)
3
acid mondays - MACHETTE
La Vie En Rose commences its 2016 campaign with a tight little package from the delirious Ibiza dwelling duo, Acid Mondays. The British lads are well known for their ability to concoct deadly dance floor weaponary for labels such as Rumors, Illusion, One Records and 2020Vision among others and now they’re back on the French label with two hot new tracks plus a remix from Greek grafter John Dimas. Lead track ‘Garaldo’ is a heady stepper with warped, galactic vocal snippets, glowing FX and a killer bassline. Coming in at just over 10 minutes, it’s a trip into the deepest recesses of Acid Mondays cosmic craniums. Lola ED family member John Dimas weighs in with his reinterpretation of ‘Garaldo’, putting the original on a diet and cultivating a slimline, though equally effective version of the track. His delicate use of twinkling melodies, barely there vocals and skippy percussion gives us a whole new piece of music, which is wonderfully restrained. On the flip, ‘Machette’ lives up to its name, with the percussion slicing and dicing its way through a gnarly bassline and bubbling toms. As the track progresses, the pace picks up and we’re gripped by its superglue-esque groove. A trippy breakdown around the five-minute mark is the icing on the cake. SupeR

Legwork 5 comes from Berlin-based bad boy Kenneth Scott. Tonight is a slow building affair with a heavy bass line that weaves it's way into your consciousness before opening up for all-out psychological warfare. On the flip the Legwork guys speed up the tempo and add steady drum work to give the main loop it's just deserts.

lizards - "International Track" (Max Essa remix)
Lizards are Lee Forster (1/3 Last Waltz) and James Hadfield (the mainstay of the Elizabeth Collective). Taking over a full side, and clocking in at over 9 minutes, Anthemic understatement is a very difficult trick to pull of, but the deepness of feel here, coupled with the restraint shown in rhythm and melody, allows the track space to ebb, flow and truly get under the skin of the listener. It's one of those rare tracks that are as equally beautiful as they are danceable International Track lives up to it's name, seeing the North Eastern English producers channel the Japanese take on the Balearic sound as heard in productions by artists such as CosMes. Ironically, with his remix, Japanese based Max Essa lends a Euro Pop lilt to the track, softening the beats and adding delicate 80s digital melodies.

STL has been a firm favourite of Phonica Records ever since his first releases surfaced in the early 2000s. Although he is highly revered within the underground scene, he’s always kept a low profile and consistently pursued his own blend of boundary pushing abstract and experimental House & Techno. The majority of his music has been released through his own ‘Something’ imprint but his unique productions have also found a home on Perlon, Smallville and Detroit’s Echospace. The two tracks on ‘The Amplified Bleep Package’ EP marks his first contribution to Phonica’s white label series and we’re extremely happy have him on board. ‘Earworm’ on the A side is a rough and rugged house cut comprised of dusty analogue kicks, warm tape hiss and gritty percussion that locks you into an irresistible groove straight from the start. This is an energetic, club-ready late night stepper. Flipside you’ll find an entirely different vibe to the heavily distorted ‘Earworm’. Clocking in at just under ten minutes, ‘A Cat And Her Solar Life’ is a cosmic journey filled with beautiful synth melodies and harmonics.

Wabi Sabi is a jam-based collaboration between NYC underground notables, including Matt Gardner (Terekke), Rezzie (Weird Magic), Jan Woo and Patricia. Their first release, and the kickoff for the much anticipated Purple Trax label, Pt.01 showcases their dada-esque hypnagogic techno jam-band vibe, as well as some of the hardest-hitting Terekke material yet. Four rough-and-ready, deep and heavy cuts to trip out any head/space.

Quartz Rec is pleased to welcome the duo Doomwork based in Rome and well known for them amazing groove, there music is emotive and immersive with melodies and riff locked into rolling rhythms and subtle atmospherics. And its with no surprise that they are coming with an outstanding ep on Quartz Rec, first track « Nihil sine sole » super trippy track with some great congas slowly and this beautiful pad building a great atmosphere. Second track « memento » getting more into deep techno with class, tracks talk for itself. We have also two remixes, first one is from Ambivalent who deliver a big stomper techno mix ready to smash the dance floor, second is from Ness who bring a driving techno track melt with the pad from the original who will make lose yourself.

chris carrier - Diver Level 1000
The last Sound Carrier was based around the notion of intrepid intergalactic explorers trying to get to earth, this time we’re taken 10,000 leagues below the surface to trawl the deep sea. All the way down there, we experience increased pressure, sub-zero temperatures, darkness and previously undiscovered new worlds. Up first we have ‘Lactarius Indigo Mission’, which has a distinct urgency and ‘in-your-face’ bitch slap percussion. The bassline writhes under a variety of squelchy, bleepy effects, which add a layer of depth and the whole thing feels quite ‘electro’. After that ‘From The Space To The Sea’ continues the electro vibes with more punchy beats, a rugged b-line and heavyweight kicks. Carrier’s use of quirky details give this track a unique character and contagious energy. On the other side we’re treated to another strange Carrier creation, the laidback ‘Kepler 22b’. Named after the first known planet to orbit a sun within what’s known as a ‘habitable zone’, Kepler 22b could well support life. The track is serene and full of optimism, a fitting soundtrack for a distant Earth-like planet. Minimal workout ‘Diver Level 1000’ closes the EP with its unusual arrangement and simple yet deadly programming. Another addition to the impressive Sound Carrier catalogue and perhaps its most leftfield so far…

STown 013 is the first release of the year! And it comes from one of our fav producers, straight from Paris: Chris Carrier. The man behind Adult only records and Sound Carrier. Is one of the most prolific House producers since the late 90's. He knows how to build serious grooves and funky beats. His "Colorful target box" EP comes with 4 amazing tracks. Starting with the catchy and funky beats of "Destiny", followed by the hypnotic and powerful grooves of "Colorful target Box" and "Pink Sparkles" and finishing with a timeless downtempo/hip hop beat "Always Forever". Transatlantyk delivers more deep dancefloor heat straight from the Polish house underground. This time Zambon has recruited two duets from the opposite corners of the country, hence the name of the sampler (Polnoc/Poludnie = North/South). The result is one of the most diverse and playful Transatlantyk releases yet. Jazxing are two youngsters from Gdansk, who cut their teeth playing drums, keys and bass in local reggae and new wave bands. Fusing their musicianship with an ear for classic American house production, they are delivering two fresh and charming tracks. 'KS Gruv' is the road tested crowd favourite, never failing to move the dancefloor into the jacking direction. 'The Coast' is a slower, more seductive and deeper affair. Its phased strings and swinging bassline form a perfect soundtrack for a late night or early morning at the Loft. Unitrax come from Cracow. These two seasoned DJs share mutual affirmation of all good things in life. They also share their love of dusty samples and analogue machinery. Here they showcase the sound of deep, mystic, meditative house with a hint of medicine overdose. 'Oasis (Water Of Love)' is filled with druggy and sultry atmosphere (and some really nice synth action as well). This beautiful jam will definitely keep your happiness level high in a different situations. 'Another Feeling' sounds more sedative, like a post-coital cigarette in the early morning light. Buy on sight, play it in your local opium den and you won't be disappointed.

You're walking up that hill at the outskirts of the city. It's the last days of summer and the sun is flooding the world below with it's yellow heat, as if it was sprinting towards the finish line. The air is trembling with fever and the distant sounds of the city, but on top of the hill there's a place that neither sun nor man can ever stir again. As a child you called it The Castle, and you still do. It's the gigantic carcase of an industrial plant. Once a place for productivity and prospect, later a place for ecstasy and rebellion, now an empty shrine for nostalgic hearts. You enter The Castle, piously, and it's cold and gloomy inside. The only thing asserting you of the existence of an outside world are dim rays of sunlight breaking through the resting places of filthy windows. It's dead quiet, but you know what to do. Your right hand is pressed against the cold wall of the Great hall. Your eyes are closed and you wait. After a while the crumbling walls begin to trust you, or at least accept your presence. And they start to sing. They sing of machines that hammers and thumps tirelessly, of masses of bodies moving in sync, of dissonant melodies flowing through the air, of sharp metal clangs and muffled machine murmurs. After a while, their deep voices fade away. A couple of years ago, they would sing for hours. Now it feels like minutes. No one is left to listen to them. No one but you. This is Albert's VANABBE03, the Dutch Minimalist's open invitation to his debut album coming this spring.

Despite only a few releases, the electronic deep house sound of Vibraphone Records and the production team behind it, had a major impact on the international 1990's dance scene. The original 90's vinyl are now considered precious collectors items. Revitalized by an increasingly new young audience interest, this label has reached a cult status and it has now been re-launched via Juno Records. For the first time in twenty years TTUSR has produced three new exclusive tracks which will be included on this 12" EP entitled Liquid Time.

Whiskey Disco #44 joins the ranks of two label vets, Pontchartrain and The Silver Rider. Both have turned in top-selling recent successes on labels like Lovedancing, Smokecloud Records, Street Edits and of course their respective appearances on Whiskey Disco. Pontchartrain leads the A-side with heavy vocal, percussion and samples with a healthy side of dub. His quality mixing matched with meticulously programmed sampling are up to his usual high standards of work… Mystery man, The Silver Rider adds some sexual tension to the flip in the form of Muzik and Never Stop..... Two songs steeped in tender loving care.....

reformed society - Detracid
Embracing Disco, Techno and House music in all its declinations, What Ever Not introduces now British artist Reformed Society, project started by house producer Harsh Puri as a consequence of djing and collecting records since 1998, debuting with a four track old school house EP, Optimistic Chaos coherently fitting with the Italian imprint philosophy. ‘Hope’ has that solar, yet dusty groove folding distorted rhythmics and joyful pads around an insistent lead dubby pattern and shimmering synths. ‘Optimistic Chaos’ is again smooth but lightly gloomy, until a pause intoxicates one’s body and mind filling them with inebriating ambients. ‘Incognito’ delivers a deep driving atmosphere here, featuring dogged, crisp drums together with minimalist, yet momentary cosmic motives. For the closing cut ‘Detracid’, the artist cooks up a brew of acid lines with the usual charming synths and vivid hats, building a light sense of tension fired up by the warm, heady sound scapes. Each track is similar to the last, stiffening the musical timbre of the label, confirming the producer’s strong artistic identity as a consequence.

Early last year we played at the small but perfectly formed, Oma Doris club in Dortmund. One of the residents that night was a young DJ by the name of Mr Fries, who during the night handed us a CD of demos. Immediately impressed with what we heard, the idea of an EP was formed. Nearly a year later we are proud to present the newest member of the pack! First up on remix duties is Hodini whose recent EP on Max Graef and Glenn Astro, Money $ex Records has been on constant rotation since its release. Hodini is an alias of prolific German Hip-Hop producer, Hulk Hodn and a major influence on Mr Fries who has sighted he was one of reason he was one of the main reasons he started to make beats. To round of the EP we've enrolled long-time friend Garth BE. The artist featured previously on WOLFEP003 back in 2009 with All The Thrills. Since then he has setup the fantastic Sweet Sticky Records, releasing two full length LPs to great acclaim
