dOP, the group of wandering minstrels that embody the very essence of Circus Company, have returned home with new tales to impart from their travels away. Indeed the insatiable touring appetite of this trio of mariachis finds them often afar at sea, spreading their message and encountering strangers in strange lands. As such, the first side of this new EP bears the fruit of a sizzling barbeque and a raucous karaoke session held in the distant shores of San Francisco, home to a talented gang of artists known as Pillow Talk. Consumating their initial meeting in a studio back in Berlin, the synth-pop meets deep house of "Your Feellin" marks a move into new ground for both groups. But of course the way of the traveller is not always grilled meat and bad cover versions. There are times when even the hardiest of messengers will feel the need to reflect on their situation. Written in the lull after coming off the road for a break, "Kisses" sees dOP contemplating the world they live in, through both musically and lyrically. Once again Damien, Clement and Jaw have confounded our expectations with ideas and imagination that can only come from the well-travelled of this world. With a sound that is ever-broadening, both as dOP and with their additional ventures as Aquarius Heaven and Les Fils Du Calvaire, we can only begin to imagine how their next tale will unfold.

Hailing from Rotterdam, one of the undisputed Techno capitals of the Netherlands, Benny Rodrigues has been closely connected to the CLR crew for many years. With numerous appearances at Chris Liebing's party seasons on Ibiza, his restless dj-ing, several high quality releases on renowned labels and his regular appearances on the CLR podcast, he has gathered many loyal followers in the international Techno community. Under his real name Benny Rodrigues he is partly known for his remarkable versatility and sometimes quite House oriented sets. ROD is his alter-ego, which clearly labels his pure, straight to the point Techno productions and performances. And this is what you can expect from this release - high quality, no-nonsense Techno with loads of bass. The EP features two brand-new ROD tracks, entitled HGB and DTC. HGB is stripped down, energetic and hypnotic Techno with a thrifty and efficient use of synths. Its driving, elegant beat programming, together with its crafty, subtle effects, vividly illustrate the special handwriting of ROD. DTC is even more minimalistic and reduced to the absolute indispensable, which makes it equally effective in its own way. With those productions ROD is really on to something, and we are very happy to present you his first and surely not last CLR release.

With the strains of Re-UP's "Freedom" still ringing loud in our ears, Dissonant prepare to unleash their first slice of summer goodness, a new two track selection from Leix. The Valencia born, Barcelona resident has been exciting dancefloors of his home nation for the past fifteen years, regularly sharing the decks with the worlds leading spinners. With a preoccupation with fusing styles and sounds, a trait that is obvious in his own productions, Leix ensures that his own work remains consistently fresh. The Novo Music boss' own productions have already found the support of many of the biggest names in the industry and have seen their release on labels including Fumakilla, Monza, Barraca Music, Inmotion Music, Melisma and more.
His Akane EP is Leix's first excursion on Dissonant and what a way to kick things off. Lead cut "Akane" is as perfect a fit as they come. A locked tight groove, devilish kick and a bubbling acid line that tricks us throughout with its undeviating trajectory. On the Flip "Dumnezeu" continues in similar fashion. An understated bassline pulses throughout, as a snare rasps and hats glisten a spoken vocal preaches. The gospel of the dancefloor.

Whetting appetites for 'Works'-Brendon Moeller's ninth studio album and his first full-length for Speedy J's compound techno stable-Electric Deluxe present the 'Wanderer EP', with remixes from CLR's Tommy Four Seven and Argentine vanguard Jonas Kopp. Since relocating to New York from South Africa, Moeller has spent the last twenty years cultivating his dub techno legacy. As Beat Pharmacy and Echologist he has employed jazz, afrobeat and psychedelic semblances to redefine Basic Channel foundations, whilst producing a stockpile of records under his own name for labels like Echocord, Mule and Third Ear Recordings. In 2009 Moeller launched Steadfast, which has continued to be a platform for his more diverse projects-including the deep house collaboration with Chicago-based Area, as Lightness, and his last Echologist album, 'Subterranean'. Taken from 'Works' scheduled for release in April 2012 -Moeller's idiosyncratic reflection upon "the spirit of techno"-"Wanderer" nods to the genre's dark and industrial side, whilst it's crashing hats and surging bass allude to Berlin and the artist's fomented Berghain affiliation. Growling, guttural strata and robotic peals further cement it as one of Moeller's more dystopian creations and most driving effort to date. Jonas Kopp toughens "Wanderer" into one of his signature marching workouts, sliced with urgent stabs. Tommy Four Seven on the other hand picks up the track's shimmering melody-at the fore in its pre-mastered state, made available here in digital form-and tousles it with his distinctive bone-crushing beatwork and crunchy, field-generated padding.

Electric Deluxe are proud to announce Works, the ninth studio album from dub techno purveyor Brendon Moeller. Conceived in late 2010 and inchoately developed during a spell in Amsterdam with EDLX head Jochem Paap overseeing the project, Works flaunts Moeller at the height of danceabilty whilst remaining true to his steeped lineage as a maker of textured, atmospheric and subaqueous electronic music.
"I began thinking hard about what kind of album I was trying to make. After much pondering I decided the best way forward would be to make an album that reflects both my own idiosyncrasies as well as try and capture what I believe to be the spirit of techno."
After the experimental Subterranean-a near beatless record comprised from a single live mixdown of sounds collated over the course of a year-under his Echologist moniker, Works shifts focus back to the dance floor with a collection of propulsive techno tracks, saturated with the visceral groove that has come to define Moeller's discography. From the submerged and spacious "Writing Wrongs" and bleepy, strung-out antics of "Far Out" to the house-kissed "Take A Dive Into The Sound" and darker, chugging cuts that close Works, the album pools together the threads of a prolific production history, spanning almost two decades, into a single succinct long player.
"It was the final stages of putting together the album where I went into a sort of manic obsessive behavior. I knew the clock was ticking and I desperately wanted to be sure that every track, every mix of every track was as good as it could be. Jochem's feedback and tactful suggestions helped shape these tracks into what they are now. I'm super proud of these and simply cannot wait to hear them on different sound systems all over the world."
With a particular nod to his other Beat Pharmacy alias-affiliated exclusively with Francois K's Deep Space Media label and New York party- Moeller's expansive output has fused dub and techno with jazz, afrobeat and psychedelic pastiches to carry on as much as refashion Basic Channel heritage into his own distinctive patois. But what makes Works a truly unique product of his is Paap's influence over the record. "Off The Grid", "Wanderer" and "Adjust To The Fading Light" are as some of the toughest bass-driven efforts from Moeller to date, balancing some of the album's brighter tracks like "In Pursuit" with techno's pounding industrial heartbeat. The result is an eclectic imagining of the genre-showing the many sides and emotions of techno, and Moeller himself.

Within the first minutes of reverbed vocalsamples appearing out of ambientish soundscapes, the listener becomes a confederate within Quantec‘s sound universe. Statements that seem to speak to oneself from another space and time set the mood for his new Album ‚1000 Vacuum Tubes’. Its surprisingly melodic an rhythmic opener ‚Ayahuasca’ sets the mood for Quantec’s versatile voyage through his own Dub history. Sven Schienhammer, the man behind this moniker, has a broad view on the sounds an techniques of Dub. Where in other productions coldness and monotony became a standard sound of Dubtechno, the psychedelic warmth of this longplayer let the listener dive constantly deeper into Quantec‘s ‚Vacuum’.
Within the full length of the album, the tracks keep up a certain kind of lightness while still remaining dancable all the time. Vocal cut-ups and fragments of house music like in ‚Truth Maintenance’ and ‚Eternal Soul’ are as well processed as deep basslines and meditative echospheres (for example ‚Unplumbed Depth’ or the title track ‚1000 Vacuum Tubes’).
Reminiscences of the analogue beginnings of the ‚Basic Channel Sound’ like in ‚The Gathering’ sup up with modern digital arrangements (‚Brain Machinery’). Everything ist held together through the pointed use of vocals that create the necessary amount of personality and deepness. Besides all its complexity Quantec‘s album always remains a traditional Dub album. Which is a good thing. The different approaches of the tracks point to a greater understanding of dub as a production method that consits of much more than a typical trademarksound. It’s not the effects that stand in the foreground but a way of fathoming the different forms of expression of Dub in electronic music. ‚1000 Vacuum Tubes’ generates its special qualities from a deep understanding of a long history of Dub in Techno music. Quantec knows how to combine these elements to create a magnificient and timeless longplayer.

Summer is here people and Ovum Recordings are about to kick start the season with yet another label debut from Dirty Channels & Bugsy… And this time it already comes recommended. Techno takes a back seat as the label continue their stunning run of house releases with "Alone." Label chief Josh Wink had asked house Don, Dave Pezzner if he had anything in the locker for Ovum. Having just completed his own rework of "Alone", he sent it across and within minutes the Ovum crew had fallen for its charms. Josh actually tweaked the original Pezzner remix for his own sets and before long has snapped up the whole release for Ovum. Dirty Channels team up with longtime friend Bugsy on the deliciously smooth "Alone." With their warm bassline, velvety synth and the sultry vocals of Amina, the trio have delivered the perfect summer soundtrack. Paper Recordings reflects on its second coming with a superb double disc compilation of its hottest output to date with CD1 delivering its finest moments released since its return and CD2 showcasing totally unreleased material from its family of artists including Proviant Audio, Ralph Myerz, Sleazy McQueen, 2 Billion Beats and Flash Atkins.
After a break of around 5 years Paper Recordings came back into the public consciousness in 2009 with a couple of reissues from its back catalogue. One of those reissues featured Mudd's wonderful re-interpretation of Keyboy's 'Viva Blue'; a track that manages to fuse deep house & disco influences with a beautifully twisted Balearic air. Looking back on the labels output since then, those very same qualities seem to permeate each and every release. Seldom these days do record labels manage to move beyond transient trends to build a signature sound that's familiar yet remains challenging and surprising for the listener: 'Paper Cuts #1' perfectly captures that signature sound through the diverse yet cohesive sounds of its stellar artist line up.
As you go through this fantastically diverse collection, there's nothing formulaic to be found, yet each and every track shares an attitude, an approach to music making that links the artists through a shared musical genealogy. From the Scandinavian future funk of Proviant Audio to the delectable disco of Flash Atkins or the organic house sounds of Daco there is a rich depth to the recordings on offer here that is a testament both the quality of the producers involved and the musical nouse of Paper's label team. Alongside label favorites such as the aforementioned Proviant Audio, Flash Atkins & Daco are relative new additions to the family such as The Treatment and Sleazy McQueen, whilst on the remix front there are offering from the likes of Atjazz, Yam Who? and Brennan Green. As something of a bonus the album also delivers the previously unreleased 'Dicky Trisco Soft Piano re-Rub' of Sleazy McQueen's 'We Need to Reconnect', which as the title suggests, is a superb piano infused disco house workout that really hits the mark.
This special edition CD includes an exclusive web address printed on inside cover which gives access to a download area where each person will be able to claim unreleased music remixed by artists such as Jay Shepherd / Max Essa. So it was always clear to both men that they should combine their experience in electronic music to produce and release an album together on vinyl. Martin Brooks was able to collect a range of experiences early on, both nationally and internationally, as a long time musical companion of Telemen (Multicolour).As a band member he played at festivals such as Melt, SMS, Rave On Snow, Hessentage and many more. Alfred Heinrichs, the founder of Supdub Records and a part of Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner, also has many years of musical success behind him, and is enthusiastic to show his followers this new development in his uniquely special sound.He has impressed crowds all over Germany and around the world, performing at Panorama Bar, Berghain, Watergate, Bar 25, Katerholzig and as far away as Australia and Japan.
