Aiming to go somewhat deeper and darker than his debut album, on "Some Kind Of Sign" Ernesto endevours to go beyond the obvious and easily cliched elements of an electronic LP, capturing the world within the spaces, using otherworldly modulars and field recordings to take the listener to the outer reaches of the album's very heart and soul.
"Some Kind Of Sign" is an album full of elasticated beats and liquid electronics, every track built around highly inventive drum programming and micro-samples. Album opener, "Still Waiting", sets the tone with bustling, yet understated, percussion, the soaring strings unfurling at the end of each phrase.
It's a long player filled with colour; "Cristal Clear' feels like a Middle Eastern travelogue, the track awash with an almost street scene like ambience, the purposeful percussion really transporting the listener to another space & time. "Astral" chugs along at almost a skanking pace, the shakers and drum fills keeping it a dancefloor piece whilst the modular synths bend and worm around the kicks.
On tracks like "Underwater Lies" the synths rain down onto a dubbed out & sultry female vocal, whilst the propelling electro beat and huge sub-bass carve out a most enjoyable aural (subaquatic) ride. Ferreyra really shows what he is capable of in the deep melancholy of "The Friend I've Lost", the saddest of pianos riffs grips your heart and gives it a good tight crush, douses you in reverb and pins you up against epic, taut strings…releasing you after its two short minutes to get back to the dance on "Hide No More".

The album closes on "Beluga Dance", a riotous and infectious space ride, and a fitting end to an album that most certainly finds Ferreyra stepping up another level with his highly accomplished and polished original dance music, designed not only for the feet but for the head as well, the true hallmarks of great electronic music.

Argentine musician Daniel Melingo is an established artist in his own right in the Tango world, and his powerful and distinctive track 'Narigon' from 2005 is a classic, that got it's deserved vinyl release on Desolat Special Edition 002. This November Desolat is proud to unveil three fantastic official remixes of 'Narigon' from Radio Slave & Thomas Gandey, Ario and Guti. It all started a few years ago when Desolat discovered Ario's amazing unofficial remix of 'Narigon', which has been a constant feature in Loco Dice's DJ sets ever since. So great was the reaction to 'Narigon' that Desolat licensed the original and got Daniel Melingo to re-sing the acapella especially for their artists to work on. All three mixes offer wonderfully different perspectives. Radio Slave & Thomas Gandey's mix is an extended 15 minute hypnotic rhythmic masterclass, Ario stays close to the spirit of the original while Guti injects a twisted groove. With the original tango track featured as a digital exclusive this is a refreshingly brilliant package for those who want music rich with flair, colour and passion.

Anyone who takes it upon themselves to contemplate over the history of house music, along with its highlights and key players, will inevitably stumble upon DJ Pierre's name sooner or later. The Chicago-born producer and DJ has been living and breathing underground dance music, namely house, since its inception in his very own hometown. For this very special Get Physical release, we've decided to pay homage to DJ Pierre's contribution to the worldwide dance community by way of an epic re-release of that most iconic of tracks, ‚What is House Muzik'. Originally released in 1994, the classic gets the Get Physical treatment with a slew of remixes in celebration of house music's eternal place in our hearts and its resurge in popularity amongst today's club goers.
A special-edition vinyl born of a very special digital compilation. The union of many celebrated artists in honor of a landmark of house music -namely, DJ Pierre's ‚What is House Muzik' - gives way to what we have here: 36 minutes of pure, unadulterated Villalobos at his most characteristic. 36 minutes of a master's knack for deconstructing and putting back together in the most abstract of ways. Ricardo Villalobos asked himself What is House Muzik? and the answer took him to a deep, dubby land that he walks us through for all of 36 minutes, complete with bubbling rhythms and bone-dry kicks. 18 minutes on each side and a good long while to ruminate on that now almost-metaphysical of questions: What, indeed, is house music? Here's one answer.
As for the motive behind such an important release? Well, DJ Pierre puts it best himself: "I'm very happy "What is House Music" is being re-released and I'm extremely satisfied that it's in great hands with Get Physical. I think people are trying to re-discover House music and people in positions like myself have the responsibility of teaching those who have no knowledge of where and how this music started. Get Physical "gets" it and they have the reach to get a track that has been the favorite of House music fans over the years to the forefront for those younger fans who are searching for the true essence of House Music. I hope people will come to experience what we've already lived when the WildPitch era/style was being created. Happy to be part of the remix package as well. I presented a different take on it. I didn't want to take the same direction as the original. It stands alone. I don't think you can really touch it. I choose to go back to basics a bit in my remix and just touch the 90's again. I hope you enjoy it.

Listen to this if you like: anything that we've put out last year, wrapped together in a lovely double pack of a 12" and 10". The Roundup part 1 is the first part of an annual recurring event: the big Heist family remix EP, where all artist names get put in a big bowl, and by luck of the draw, find themselves remixing (and remixed by) another Heist artist. We've got Max Graef remixing Dam Swindle and turning the break up into a full on Graef-affair. The label heads themselves take "The Organ Grinder"'s "Change all the time" and turn into a deep Chicago-esque tune and completing the 12", there's Frits Wentink's take on Bluebottle, experimenting with his trademark shuffle. On the 10", Standout track of the first year of Heist "Jungle" gets a lovely rework by Nachtbraker, giving it a more 4x4 feel than the original and The Organ Grinder who turns Frits Wentink's Schrewd into a full on Filter house cut. The artwork is handmade and photographed by Baster.

JR002 sees a long-time Jaunt favourite Deep'a & Biri, take centre stage. The Israeli duo have long been considered expert producers by those in the know, with releases on the likes of Gigilo, Transmat and their own Black Crow imprint very much indicative of the fact. The Basement Cuts EP, meanwhile, goes some way to solidifying this fledgling reputation. Full of psychoactive tendencies and brimming with otherworldly sounds, the title track sees the pair delve deep, as they summon up a cut that's notable for its obsessive eye for detail and an unfurling array of captivating sounds. Full of dreamy soundscapes and pulsating kicks, it's a neat juxtaposition that plays out with some class from start to finish. On the remix front, the label welcomes The Analogue Cops to the fold. The Italian pair, consisting of Lucretio and Marieu, has long been held up as purveyors of refined electronica - and this one is no different. Their remix is a fitting compliment to the original, as they induce it with their trademark funk and a dollop of ominous tidbits. As it slowly progresses into an acid-led monster, it leaves a striking impression, neatly rounding off a contrasting and engrossing EP in the process.

Public Possession's eight offering is a 10" EP curated by our good friend Samo DJ from Stockholm. Co-running the fantastic Born Free label with Daniel Isling aka Sling, releasing records on his own and in various different formations on Labels such as L.I.E.S., Born Free, High Feelings and more, he seemed to be exactly the right person to tackle the task of putting this record together. On A1 he sparks your appetit for more with the short but on point. "Sha Tin 4am" he produced himself in Hong Kong at his appartment located close to a horse racing track - flawless soundscapes galopping along. If you can't get enough we suggest buy two copies and extend to a length that is to your satisfaction. A2 is produced by Daniel Savio and Sam Nyholm who together form "Over the Hill", Stockholm's most dangerous ethnic Techno Band. Slow heavy baseline, synth stabs and a dubby groove all contained in this psychedelic ride, preferably listened to loud! The whole B-side gives space to "Here My Dear", courtesy of the yet unheard-of Taro Tokugawa. A very danceable trip that is on the edge of Pop music but uses a vocal sample that you would rather expect to be in a track by the Wu-Tang Clan.

Savoir make their introduction with debut 12" single 'Eternal' for Sydney label Plastic World (GL, Tuff Sherm). Honing their craft in the intimate electronic scene in Perth, Australia, the three-piece make a heady potion of catalytic rhythm and arresting melody. The sonic compound is led by the evocative vocals of front-woman Mei Swan, set to textured, groove-laden production from James Ireland and Andrew Sinclair. 'Malala's earworm chant rides on deep afro-beat house groove and dense percussion, while coming off feather-light and agile. 'Eternal' sees specters of hip-hop and lounge channeled through a smoky after-hours slow dance, the wall-rattling kick drum offset against trembling exotic melody. "Window": HVOB explores the boundaries of music Music meets video meets installation: HVOB's new EP "Window" opens a trialogue between artistic disciplines. The Viennese electronic duo HVOB has firmly established itself on the international electronic music scene with four EPs, a debut album and live appearances at festivals such as the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival and SXSW in Austin. The fifth EP, which was presented at this year's Parallel Vienna art fair and is about to be officially released, is the result of an artistic experiment by Anna Müller and Paul Wallner. Above and beyond the music, "Window" is a complex art project. The EP is - like the electronic duo's follow-up album, scheduled for release in 2015 - the result of a trialogue with Vienna artist Clemens Wolf and the VJs lichterloh. At the heart of the project are materials and the processes of their transformation, addressed on all three artistic levels and wrapped up in a single work. Each track is therefore a self-contained piece comprising installation, music and video. The EP is made up of four tracks: "Window", "Oxid" and two remixes of the title track. HVOB has been fortunate enough to collaborate with luminaries of the music industry: Gui Boratto interprets "Window" as a pulsating, emotive anthem to the joy of life, Acid Pauli places Anna Müller's vocals at the centre of an almost nine-minute journey through the HVOB world of sound. The EP "Window" appears on the label Stil vor Talent and is available on vinyl and digitally from November 28.
