BARCODE: 827170573161 REL DATE 1.12.2014
TRACKLIST: A1. Malala A2. Eternal B1. Malala (Adesse Versions Remix) B2. Eternal (Harvey Sutherland Remix)
RELEASE INFO:
Savoir make their introduction with debut 12" single 'Eternal' for Sydney label Plastic World (GL, Tuff Sherm). Honing their craft in the intimate electronic scene in Perth, Australia, the three-piece make a heady potion of catalytic rhythm and arresting melody. The sonic compound is led by the evocative vocals of front-woman Mei Swan, set to textured, groove-laden production from James Ireland and Andrew Sinclair. 'Malala's earworm chant rides on deep afro-beat house groove and dense percussion, while coming off feather-light and agile. 'Eternal' sees specters of hip-hop and lounge channeled through a smoky after-hours slow dance, the wall-rattling kick drum offset against trembling exotic melody. The 12" is rounded out by remixes courtesy of Larry Heard and Benji B-endorsed producer Adesse Versions and Melbourne synth wizard Harvey Sutherland. Whilst Adesse keeps things on an essential house tip, Sutherland slows the proceedings to a deep forest groove. Eternal is out on Vinyl & Digital November 27. TIP!

TRACKLIST:
A1 - Happy Accidents
A2 - No Burrito
B1 - Under Surveillance
B2 - Our Thing
Info:
"an incredible, funked-out live show and production team with their own modern take on boogie, Philly soul, and NY disco." - XLR8R
The Possé are a new face to many people. The five piece run by Andrew Elston and Ross Ferraro is comprised of veterans from all over Australia's music scene. After a year of knuckling down in the studio and a string of sold out shows they've boiled down their favourite influences into an in-credible, raw, funked out live show and production team.
Watch out for The Posse's debut EP, Our Thing, featuring contributions from Andrew Elston (Phy-sique/Toni Toni Lee/Catcall), Ross Ferraro & Jarrol Renaud (The Goods), Michael Di Francesco (Touch Sensitive/Van She) and NZ jazz keys prodigy Andrew Bruce.

A1: Working Out
A2: Extended Version
B1: Francis Inferno Orchestra Remix
B2: Extended Instrumental Version
Info:
Donny Benét. You know the name by now.
Man of the people. Wielder of synths. Virtuosic in style, both aural and visual. Sydney's undisputed master of conduction through seduction. The man has an almost otherworldly control over his music and his crowd. One slap of the bass and the world melts at his feet. One outrageous synth solo after the other and the competition falls around him. Donny Benét makes you sweat. Donny Benét brings the heat.
We are unbelievably honoured to have Donny Benét make his Plastic World debut with "Working Out", a pulsating ode to the things in life that get you perspiring. "Working Out" is a tune take the trademark sound that Donny has spent years mastering, and invigorates it further with new sides to him that you never knew you needed. The same dripping bass and suggestive synths, but now they are framed behind the driving four-four kicks of a drum machine. This is music made for movement.
Donny has more:
"Everyone loves to work up a sweat in all aspects of life - exercising, working hard, making love, making music - it's all there in this song.
"I was on a bike ride (I cycle most days for a few hours), which is usually where I have written all of the songs that I"m most happy with. It was quite a busy day where I ride, there were heaps of people out working up a sweat.
Cycling can be quite rhythmic and I'd worked up a tempo in no time and some ideas for a song came - I then passed a couple of girls in active wear and one of them was wearing a shirt with the text "Working Out" written on it. That just seemed like the perfect vibe for the tempo I was at…"
And the rest will be history.
"Working Out" will be available as a limited edition 12" release with an extended edit, instrumental edit and a bubbling remix from London-based Melbourne producer Francis Inferno Orchestra, who pulls the track even further on to the dance floor with gliding synths, new wave house sounds and rhythmic percussions.

TRACKLIST:
A1. Tuition featuring Kid Kairo & Chun Yin
A2. Busss featuring Lamtech9
B1. Rue Vavin
B2. Sleepwalk
RELEASE NOTES:
William has been an intriguing presence in Sydney's music scene for over ten years, performing and releasing under several monikers including most recently, T.Morimoto. As a producer and teacher he has inspired the work of artists such as Seekae, Cliques and Cassius Select. His EP Annum Contra is a diverse collection of percussive approaches and rhythmic studies that sees William moving in a dance floor friendly direction - whilst maintaining the idiosyncratic style he is known for.
Annum Contra also features a handful of guests including Lamtech9 and Kid Kairo. Both regularly attend Lion Mountain Studio, a community recording space for young people from Sydney's Sierra Leonian community where William volunteers. Chun Yin (aka Rainbow Chan) also makes an appearance providing her vocal touches. The first track, "Tuition", reflects William's interest in stretching clichés and testing aesthetic standards: "I like the idea of building something around a really stock emotional fragment - how far can you go with just a minor triad, or a straight arpeggio, or a few tuned drum sounds? Can you undercut and reclaim musical clichés?" "Busss" is a percussive jam built around Lamtech9's entirely improvised verse. "Rue Vavin" is an intense polyrhythmic experiment drawing on footwork kick patterns and live percussion all recorded in William's studio. "Sleepwalk" is an expansive and driving four-to-the-floor tune. Plastic World is excited to present Annum Contra to DJs and listeners alike.

RELEASE NOTES
Hugo Frederick has been bubbling under the surface of Melbourne's incredibly strong electronic scene for years. Now it's his turn to suit up for an immense 12" on Plastic World full of euphoria and pianos. Soaring on an intricate combination of whirling ambient undercurrents, classic 90s house pianos and a deep understanding of house music and the groove that exists within it, Hugo Frederick's debut EP Skin is truly something to behold. Skin introduces two sides to Hugo Frederick's musical palette, the first of which is the expansive house works that are found on the A side. Opener 'Skin' sees Frederick realise the potential he showed in earlier releases, setting loose a textural piece that is tied together with classic keys and the introduction of a fierce kick drum half way through the song. 'Remote' draws the listener back in with a more subdued affair, enticing them in with wondering synths and inclusive vocals, culminating in the perfect release that leads into the B-side of the record. The flip side finds Hugo Frederick exploring his more experimental ability, with the hypnotic 'Stripped' and the shuffling 'Hexagonia' proving while he can shift his focus away from 4/4 rhythms he'll never lose sight of the intuitive groove that will always keep people moving. It's been a while since Hugo popped up on the Bleep.com x Warp Records x Soundcloud curated compilation 'Filtered' back in 2012, and we couldn't be more excited for these new tunes.

RELEASE NOTES
GL are Melbourne's cosmic-funk revivalists and the soundtrack to eternal leisure. Cruising on glowing synths, gritty drum-machines, and stratospheric vocals, GL's music is a cosmic dream-sequence not unlike a lost reel from the mid-80s. Signed on first listen by newly-minted Sydney label Plastic World (home to releases from Retiree, Alba, Tuff Sherm and Cassius Select), the duo's debut EP Love Hexagon will introduce their pulsating sound with lead singles Won't You See AND What Happened to Us plus remix treatment from Detroit's house don Terrence Parker and Running Back head-honcho, Gerd Janson. It's a salacious introduction to GL's romantic hedonism, and just a taste of what's expected in the future. Experience the sound of cruise control, dive bars, strobe lights and tape decks with GL; the debut release out soon on Plastic World.

TRACKLIST: A1. Beneath Numeral A2. Topaz Looper B1. Bruv B2. Rete Avek Ou
Circling Sydney as the most prodigious producers in their adopted home, Tuff Sherm (Perth-born Eugene Hector / Dro Carey) and Cassius Select (Canada's Lavurn Lee / Guerre) guise-up for a split 12 that follows Dro's seven-date debut European tour, and Cassius' breakout ONE EP on Gardland's Hunter Gatherer imprint. Returning home after a string of releases via Merok, RAMP, Opal Tapes and The Trilogy Tapes, Tuff Sherm shifts the counter-balanced brilliance of Dro Carey with 'Beast Numeral' - a six-minute succession of classic house jaunts. Revealing a more positively playful side on 'Topaz Looper', Sherm continues to surprise in the footsteps of fans such as Ben UFO, Mark Pritchard and L.I.E.S founder Ron Morelli.
Clocking stages with Australian heavyweights Jagwar Ma and HTRK whilst stringing supports for Four Tet and Jamie xx alike, Cassius Select finally goes to print with two cold-cut workouts flipped on an affinity for city-side recesses. Proving Australia's most unkempt secret since his early days under the bedroom R 'n' B alias Guerre, 'Bruv' now sees Lee splice and scrape classic taunts into a knockabout elegy to the UK's MC heyday. Skittered up until the blown kick and bass serve of 'Rete Avec Ou', Cassius locks out on a pummelling ode to distance and disconnection, ringing in the end for a true-to-form take on mother-country confusion with enthralling results.
'His rhythms move with an unusual elasticity'

TRACKLIST: A1. Together A2. Be Yourself A3. Together (Andras Fox Remix) B1. Rain B2. Together (Suzanne Kraft Remix)
Newly born, Retiree, recently kicked its way through the musical birth sac and into Sydney's live scene, with a spate of vitalising performances. The four mammals who take stage, Tori Holleman, Ryan Powderly, Marco Vella and Matt Crowley have shimmied their road cases through many tight stage doors over the last twelve months, consistently presenting an evolving repertoire of artful tracks to thirsty ears. The band's well-arranged melodies and ideas are translated by a variety of instruments both electronic and acoustic, and are importantly not lost during performance. Among those recently engaged were founders of Sydney's burgeoning Plastic World label - swiftly leading to a Retiree's very first EP to be released early in December. Dance record commissars, Suzanne Kraft (Running Back Records) and Andras Fox (Home Loan Records), have leapt with uncommon keenness at the offer to remix the single from the upcoming 12" release. It is likely then that the EP will give listeners a refreshing emulsion of dance floor cadence and tempered vibrancy - something not seen all that often on debut releases.

TRACKLIST: A1. Knokke A2. Law B1. Knokke (Jimmy Edgar Remix) B2. Knokke (Rick Wade Remix)
Alba (formerly Albatross), have combined an immaculate eye for detail and warmth with their brand new release, Knokke / Law. The Sydney duo have been hard at work perfecting their live show and supporting the likes of Four Tet, Mount Kimbie and Gold Panda for the past year so everyone's appetite is whet for more tunes! A-Side 'Knokke' comes out strong with the dogged drive of 909 hats and kick, over deep ominous noise and re-pitched vocals. 'Law' treads in similar territory with its percussive rustles and scrapes, which build into a melodic, arpeggiated corker.
The EP features remixes from two of Detroit's finest: Rick Wade and Jimmy Edgar.
