Lazare Hoche Records push forward into 2014 with a brand new three-track EP from the collective known as Mandar. The three-man crew is made up of Lazare Hoche himself, along with his good friends Danish producer Samuel Andre Madsen and Dutchman Malin Genie. Those familiar with Lazare Hoche Records will recall that Mandar have already appeared on the label on I Don't Sync So Vol.II with 'Fouad' and 'St Eustache'. The 'Width' EP is the product of their continued working relationship; late-night studio sessions fueled by junk food, analogue gear and their combined passion for music that comes from the heart and soul. Across three tracks we witness the trio bear their souls on a collection of raw, uncomprimising music that refuses to subscribe to the latest trends. There is no bandwagon jumping here, just pure unadulterated club music. Take A-side 'Naughty Mandar' for instance, with its stripped down, barely there percussion and unrelenting bassline which trembles below softly swirling pads. In the background lurks the hushed whispers of a male vocal revealing his love for house music, it's dark and melancholy yet instilled with a feeling of hope. Title track 'Width' wastes no time in providing some bounce, kicking off with an energy which is maintained from start to finish. Sharp snares cut through celestial pads and jovial analogue stabs provide a bright juxtaposition to the morose bassline. Finally, '808 Ruffneck Business' lives up to its name aiming straight for the jugular with its minimalist composition - it's all about the beats

Following releases from Huerta, Mandar and Makcim & Levi last year, Oscillat kicks off 2019 with an assured, brooding club 12" from long-serving producer Matthew Dekay.
Since surfacing in 2001, Dutch producer Dekay has put out a formidable body of work under a variety of aliases and in collaboration with producers including Lee Burridge and Maher Daniel. His sultry tech house approach has graced labels as highly regarded as Innervisions, Cecille, Aras and Maeve, and now he comes to Oscillat with "Spellbound," a track that finds him diving deeper than ever before into hypnotic, swinging rhythms loaded with atmosphere and longing.
On the B side, Oscillat bosses Mandar (Lazare Hoche, Malin Genie and Samuel Andre Madsen) take Dekay's original and inject it with an infectious peak time energy, creating a straight-up, acid-flecked workout that sits in neat contrast with the immersive shuffle of the original.

In just a few years Noha has made a sizable impact on the contemporary tech house scene. As well as being at the helm of Nabuco Records and Panick Panick! alongside Alex Tea, he's also released a huge swathe of records on labels such as Nilla, Constant Black, Tartouffe and Point Of View. Following a recent outing under the Mandar alias alongside studio pals Samuel Andre Masden and Charlie Naffah, Nick Putman presents his first solo single under the Malin Genie guise for two years. Predictably, he explores a range of deep house styles over the course of a four-track EP that's both quietly confident and largely impressive. There's a real bump to "Sense of Swing", despite the presnce of warm, fluid keys, while "Propter" successfully joins the dots between loopy tech-house and shimmering deepness. The techno influence is more obvious on the flip, where "Redskap" and "Ulux" both derive potency from the hypnotic nature of Putman's immaculately produced groove.
